Adobe Muse SlideShow Options and Capabilities

Hey there people. I know that in the Adobe Muse slideshow you have the options to use fade, and vertical transitions, etc. I'm trying to make a few pictures in my slideshow go vertical and a few pictures go horizontal, and maybe a few pictures fade during its transition. (All in the same Slideshow) Is this possible?

Right now there is only the three options. I am sure it would be easy enough for the dev team to add a random setting. I suggest you add it to the Muse ideas forum.

How can I make the Adobe Muse slideshow stop on mouseover?

Using the Adobe Muse slideshow opens many possibilities and control elements. However, I have received many feedback inquiries from my customer, complaining they cannot stop the slideshow on mouse over. This can be quit a nuisance as someone is enjoying a photo with no means to stop it from fading or sliding to the next one (except when using thumbnails, clicking on those. Which is not always intuitive). Is there a way to tell the Muse slideshow widget to stop the slide when viewers mouse over the image and continue sliding / fading when viewers hoover of the image?

You can't. The best you can do is click to stop it, but then the only way of starting it again is to reload the page. I believe Adobe are looking into ways of improving this in future releases. There are various workarounds: have a longer delay between slides, use a manual-only slideshow with back or next buttons (or arrows) or a combination of what you have already with these to make the best out of an imperfect situation.
It is not possible either to have a slideshow stop at the final image which is limiting, and another point that needs addressing. Sorry; this is probably not the answer you were looking for but hope you can now make some decisions/progress.

When will Adobe Muse support ordered and unordered lists instead of forcing users to create manually formated bullet points? I've asked this question before, but never saw an answer to it. I know others have asked it as well. Adobe has set a high bar with its other solutions. It doesn't look good that Muse does not support ordered and unordered lists at this late date.

My perception of the forums and response from Adobe is based upon looking at most of the postings in the "bugs" forum. There are lots of reads, very few replies.
Given the fact that many users have asked about bullets and other basic text formating I am surprised that there is still no sign of them. Perhaps it is felt that there are workarounds that will do. The truth is, as you noted, that none of the workarounds are great, some are not even practical. For my specific case, I would have been happy to use workaround #1, except that the line items were hyperlinks, and I needed to open them in a separate window using the javascript window.open function. As I've detailed in other posts, there is a real problem with this in Muse. Hyperlinked javascript calls are invoked via the "href=" attribute, but this doesn't work properly in a number of browsers. There isn't a way to tell Muse to use onclick instead (which works for all browsers). This led me to have to use embedded html.
That leads me to try #2, which is to use CSS styling in the embedded html. This too gave me fits. Using a <style> section to set the attributes for <ul> or <li> did not work. I can only assume that the tags inside the embedded HTML have a Muse-generated id or class. I tried to get the bullets by setting the list-style-type in the <ul> tag itself using the style attribute, but this did not work (it should). It does work if you put the list-style-type in the <li> tags. This is pretty tedious, and led me to create text files containing the html separate from Muse so that I can use an editor to copy repeated strings. Then I cut and paste into the embedded html container.
Note that, even though I finally found something that works, it is not visible in the design view, so you can't even tell it works without previewing it!
I haven't tried option #3, but given the need to force the use of onclick I imagine that would not be possible with your widget. I was aware of the list widget however.
I'll have to look at the Mucow docs and give it a try. The docs are a bit light - any plans to flesh them out?

Adobe Muse html code and Constant Contact

Muse noobie question re: Adobe Muse html code and Constant Contact
We use Constant Contact for our email marketing. We prefer to generate our own html code and insert into Constant Contact. It has worked great for us in the past and bypasses and somewhat cumbserome Constant Contact interface.
We tried inserting html code from Muse and the results were surprising:
Any rectangles created were simply gone. Not showing. No colors, no outlines just gone.
Text formating was way off in size and fonts. Spacing issues too.
Page not centered. It looks centered in various browsers
Any suggestions please?

It's not going to work.
The HTML/CSS/JavaScript abilities and requirements for browsers are vastly different that those of e-mail clients. The output of Adobe Muse relies on external CSS files and JavaScript, both of which are not available in most e-mail clients.

Adobe Muse: Slideshows and submenus don't appear when previewed or exported

Hi! I've just put together a site in the latest version of Adobe Muse. Everything seems fine when I preview within Muse but when I preview in Firefox or export to Business Catalyst, none of the slideshows appear, (where the pics are is just blank), and the submenus don't appear either. Any ideas?

Hi! It's OK I've solved the problem! At the cost of looking like a complete idiot I'm going to share this because others might be in the same situation. I remembered that a couple of weeks ago I turned off java script in all my browsers because I had a potential security risk (which I didn't), and was advised to do so. Now, I've turned Javascript back on, everything is working perfectly! Unfortunately this has taken me about 6 hours to work out! On the plus side at least now I know what my site will look like if someone is viewing it with javascript turned off! I've used Macs professionally for about 20 years so you can imagine how stupid I'm feeling right now! Thanks for getting back to me though!

How to configure a custom Adobe Muse slideshow

Hello all-
I'm trying to set up a slideshow within Muse that could work in the way outlined below. Can anyone help me out? I can't seem to configure one that meets my idea.
How I'm currently configuring my slideshow:
Adding a slideshow into my page via the widgets library - slideshow - basic
Choosing a folder to pull images from
Disabling all "Parts". As in "Captions", "Next", etc - I do not want any slideshow components to be visible and like it as minimal as possible
Changing timing options - "Auto Play" and "Transition Speed"
Now here's what I would like my slideshow to do if possible:
Display images at their true sizes versus constrained proportions.. I'm planning on having some photos appear very small and some photos very large.. therefore I don't want to apply one set of dimensions to the entire folder. I would resize the photos individually / as a batch and hopefully have some photos dominate the page and some remain small and quiet.
Have my vertical photos appear vertical! They seem to be getting rotated to landscape to fit within the slideshow dimensions or something. It's weird.
Have the images be able to be navigated with a click without showing any slideshow components.. as in arrows. I would just like to be able to navigate forward (reverse isn't necessary) by clicking on the images in the slideshow.

I would try scaling the Hero Image to the dimensions(or slightly larger) than your largest photo. Then set 'New Hero:' to 'Fit Content Proportionately'.

Uncheck the 'Prev' Part in the 'Slideshow Option', then scale your 'Next" trigger to cover the Hero Image, setting it's Fill and Stroke to 'None'.

Adobe Muse slideshow widget not working on Ipad

The Muse slideshow widget i'm using is working fine in desktop version (on my Imac and Macbook Pro Retina), but the targets (buttons) are not working when i open the website in my Safari Ipad. When i open in Ipad Chrome, it's working fine.

To answer your first question, a widget is essentially a app extension. Try the stock market app below, once you download it you'll be able to add a stock market widget to Notification Center. I am receiving the 'Could not sign you in [Access denied: 530]. Check your user name and password' problem on Adobe Muse CC 2014 and I cannot access the xml file that is supposed to fix this issue?

I am a PC user and I have Adobe Creative Cloud Muse 2014. I have received the 'Could not sign you in [Access denied: 530]. Check your user name and password' error when trying to upload my muse site to my ftp host, GoDaddy. I have successfully done this in the past and only recently it has stopped working. I looked online at the FAQ Adobe Muse Help | Uploading an Adobe Muse Site to a third-party hosting service and it said to download the ftpprefs.xml file but this file simply leads to a blank page that says /*Not found*//*Not found*/.
Can someone direct me to a working page with this file or provide a different solution? Thank you!

As you are getting error [Access denied: 530] it means issue is with access. Either the username and password you are entering is incorrect or you do not have proper permissions.
I would suggest you to contact Godaddy to either reset password or reset the permissions.

Cannot get the latest version of Adobe Muse to update and install

When I open Adobe Muse it asks me if I'd like to update it, I say yes to the install. It then transfers me to the Adobe Application Manager where it says that there are not updates and that I have the latest version already? I know that this is not the case as many of the "new" functions advertised on the u[date aren't present in my version. I have already tried updating my Mac's operating system to Yosemite what apart from taking ages didn't make any difference I have also uninstalled Muse and reinstalled it but it still didn't make any difference! Help I really don't know what else to try?

A reply to myself! Thanks to Adobe support I needed to update the Adobe Applications Manager to the Creative Cloud App which so far appears to have fixed the problem

The Adobe Muse file damaged and cannot be opened. Please Help!!!

My Muse crushed on me while generating "preview site in browser" command.
After I re-started Adobe Muse, I get this message:
There are several back-up files I tested and they all had this error. Does anyone know what to do?
I have saved the site before I clicked "preview site in browser" command too.
I have about 20-30 hours of work in that Muse file that has not been published anywhere.
Muse Version:

Was the final successful save a Save or a Save As over top the original file?
Where are the files stored? I would not trust the hard drive / device where the files are being stored until we've had a chance to take a closer look at the files.
Please send all the files that bring up this error.
If the files are larger than 20Mb you can use a service like Adobe SendNow, Dropbox, WeTransfer, etc. Thanks.

Is it now possible with new version of Adobe Muse to create and HTML Newletter.

I am in a bit of a rush because I have an e-blast to prepare for a customer and I was wondering if it is it now possible with new version of Adobe Muse to create an HTML newletter? I have never created an html newletter before, if it is not possible with muse, and I do not code, would mailchimp be the best choice. If it is possible with muse, would it be possible to please provide me with the steps or a tutorial?

The quick answer is, no. The output of Muse is designed to work with popular web browsers on desktops and devices. It relies on many features of HTML that are not supported by e-mail readers.

I have an ipad that has photos on it, and am trying to get those photos to an SDHC card. I put the card in my camera connection kit device and went to the slideshow option and selected copy and nothing happened. Am I using the wrong method?

I am trying to get photos from a friends i pad to mine so that I can make a slide show for him. I tried using my i pad camera connection kit with a SDHC card in it and followed the instructions in the manual. I got to the part where it had me select COPY from the drop down menu. When I did that nothing happened. Can this be done at all?

Audible Timecode Options and Capabilities.

I work for a facility that uses a LTC timecode track to reference frames from DAT Tapes, Logged BWF files on DVD-RAM, HDCAM, Betacam, DV tapes, and so forth. It is an audible track on the tapes and things like XDRAM discs. It is the default timecode on the DAT and BWF files.
What I need to know is if there is any way to convert an audio track that is LTC timecode into timecode information/track in Final Cut. I want to be able to view both the VITC, LTC, and this seperate LTC timecode at once. I know an Avid can do this for me but I won't have access to avids for particular portions of my workflow. I always have final cut available. Thus this capability would be a real life saver.

Avid does have the 'read audio timecode feature' but FCP does not have anything equivalents to this. There is probably some kind of external box or reader you could route through though.

Adobe muse any option there to export to php

i want to export muse files to php.. if any solutions there for this... please help us

You can export the web-site as html then change it to php with dreamweaver OR make a php page in Dreamweaver to add into Muse with a iframe... bit pointless going into it until you tell us what you want to make.
p.s No Muse can't make a blog... but it can point to one that you made someplace else.

Adobe Muse crashing and closing

Whenever I copy or change the name of a page in plan mode Adobe Muse crashes, closes and reports the following error.
An Error has Occured. Assert: "menuItemBox U7203 has no associated page!"
Error logs will be submitted with this problem report.
Please help. Below is a screenshot.
