Adobe Myriad Arabic Problem

I'm intending to use Arabic Myriad for our next project and I was stting up the styles when I realised that there are serious problems with this font. Some ligatures are wrong and diacritics are overlapping some letters. Can anybody let me know if they have the same problem? Could it be that a newer version of the font available with these problems fixed up? Is there a way to report these problem to Adobe to get them fixed?

Hi Miguel,
The version I'm using is 1.027, and I'm using Indesign CS6 on Mac.
The issue I found so far are:
1- The wavy line (Madda) above the "Alef", when used with "Lam" (L) the Madda goes below the "Alef" (the Madda is always above the "Alef". See attached image, The red is the correct placement.
2- Same problem for Hamza, when used above "Alef" when the letter joined with "Lam" it goes below the "Alef". See attached
3- The third Problem is just when Ligature is on. The letter "Yeh" when it connect with "Teh", "Feh", "Beh" it becomes wrong. See attached example of Feh (F) + Yeh (Y)
4- Is a problem with the dot of the "Bah" (B). When the "Bah" comes after a "LAM (L) the dot falls very low see attached file.
5- Another problem is with Diacritics, whenever is used on a Ligature character, they overlaps. However this can be fixed with controlling the diacritics horizontally.
6- is a wish. Can we have an alternate Glyph for the "Mim" M when it's at the end of a word?
The reason I'm asking is because I work in Education and the font is excellent for use in educational books because of its legibality, and cleanliness. However the font got rejected from schools because the "Mim" (M) (when it is a the end of the word) it's not very obvious for kids. The shape is more stylistic than traditional and it get confused by kids for a "Ra" (R). see attached sample.

Hey, I managed to remove them by deleting "typesupport" folder in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2014\Required
I'm not sure if there will be unexprected problems, but you can move the folder somewhere else.

Adobe reader Arabic language Problem on blackberry playbook os2

I have a problem In Adobe Reader , the problem that when I open an Arabic pdf book on a playbook the screen go black and nothing happen I can't do anything to it the screen black just I can turn off and restart is, it is a big problem for who wants to read Arabic book

I am trying to reach the developer for long time but the email provided is a mailing list which no one else has the right to post to it except their team.
There is a big problem with Arabic words searching in an Arabic PDF file with adobe Reader for android. To search for a word, I have to write the words backward, like instead of "Adobe" I have to write "ebodA" but in Arabic language. I know that your app developers are Indians, but please let an Arabic person show you how he can't search for a word in an Arabic PDF file. Please fix it urgently. it is very important for the Arabic language readers. Thanks for your action.

You might find that this is a limitation in either the software or the file. Some Arabic files are written left-to-right internally, and look right but are backwards in each line.

Adobe CS3 Extended - problem w Bridge - picture displayed wrong in Horrizontal Filmstrip mode

Recently started have problems with Adobe Bridge (CS3 Extended) after it did an automatic update from Adobe for my CS3. The problem is that the panel where the picture appears in "Horrizontal Filmstrip" is now positioned to the far right - partially off the screen; plus, whatever action done previously is showing through the panel area where the picture should have been. Doing "refresh" does not help.
Tried to reinstall the whole program but the problem did not go away. Then uninstalled the whole Adobe CS3 suite (which includes Bridge); then reloaded the probram; and, then the problem went away. As soon as I downloaded the updates from Adobe again, the problem reappeared. Anyone no what to do?

Did you try to reset the preferences by holding down the ctrl key and starting Bridge? You will get a reset window, choose all 3 options.
A re-install will not affect this file so if contaminated before it will be contaminated after.
Also, make sure you have the latest video driver, as this affects the filmstrip mode.

You don't need Adobe AIR to download or install Adobe Reader.
Try downloading the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

Folio, I tried to update the trial version of the publication on my iPad but I get this message: "the issue isavailable for dowload, but new signing for an application version. Update the application from the App Store. "I went to the AppStore and was not any update of the Content Viewer ... I deleted the version on my iPad I downloaded again ... but without success gives me the same problem ... Please help me ... how can I do??

As discussed in numerous threads already, the new viewer has not been approved by Apple yet.
If you’re a pro or enterprise customer you can create your own viewer app. If not, you’ll have to wait or roll back to the older tools.

Adobe Reader Printing Problem

I have a PC with Windows XP SP3. When I try to print a PDF document, I get the following message: "The document could not be printed. There were no pages selected to print." Of course, I had selected the pages to print.
Recently, I had many problems with Adobe Reader 10, so I removed it and reloaded Adobe 9. Today, when this printing problem appeared, I did a restore on my computer, taking it back a few months. I still have the printing problem.
Any idea what's wrong? Any idea how to fix it?

I have Acrobat Pro 9, but the feature I am using is listed under my
printers.
If I go to Print, then in the drop-down list of printers, I have PDF -
which essentially creates a new PDF document. I don't really understand
why it worked, but it did. The Print - PDF is also available to Word,
Publisher, etc.

Adobe Flash Player Problem: "Movie Not Loaded"

new user to mac.
i'm getting more and more frustrated with this computer.
what's bugging me the most right now is
i am unable to view videos on certain websites.
rather than showing the content,
a white box appears.
when i right click on the white box,
it says "movie not loaded" (in gray) and adobe flash player 9 (in black).
i can't click on the gray line.
when i click on the black line, it brings me to the adobe website and tells me adobe flash player 9 has been successfully installed.
i am fairly sure this has nothing to do with heavy traffic.
any insights on how to resolve this issue?

I installed Adobe 7.0 standard on my laptop and I get this message: Warning 20225 Adobe Acrobat 7.0 setup was unalbe to creat a new item, adobe pdf port & printer. The adobe pdf printer may be unavailable.
I really need to get this working and adobe support says this is the only way to get an answer.

Adobe Photoshop CS6 Problem

I have successfully installed Photoshop CS6 to my computer. However, when I open the front page to CS6 everything "freezes up", and I cannot open any of the tabs - not even the file or close tabs.
Have uninstalled and re-installed the CS6 several times with no effect. Am installing from a boxed disc that I purchased from Adobe.

Hello again. When I said PSE 12 was an upgrade on CS2, I meant that simply from an informal point of view - and it is: it's better software in most respects. In expert mode, the features and functions are much the same as in the CS2 I had before, but enhanced and slicker. Less 16 bit colour depth and a few other things of course. Unfortunately, as it now transpires, the "few other things" has turned out to include the measuring feature.
Thanks for the work-around - only problem is ... to what Info Panel are you referring when using the line tool? I've looked around but can't see the line length being shown anywhere. Thanks in advance for any light you might be able to cast on it.
Incidentally, I upgraded my written-off Canon D5 MK II with a D6. To me it's an upgrade - it's a much better camera - though by the letter of the law, the strict upgrade path would be to a 5D MK III. One can use the word "upgrade" in this informal (but entirely meaningful) sense, I hope, without being sent to prison!!
