Adobe No Longer Supports Flash 9

Since losing "flash" interfers with many applications the community has questioned both Motorola and Verizon as to what if anything they were going to do about it.  You are correct, nothing.  We were referred to Goggle which is a lost cause as they took this action to increase their market share.  But both Motorola and Verizon stated they either made the phone and that was all they were responsible for or they sold air serice again that is all they are responsible.  There are some supposed fixes but you'll find they don't work as after a update they no longer work.  My personal question is how can both companies continue selling their devices stating they are capable of this or that when they know that is no longer possible.  By the way my local store told me to buy an "I-phone".

With HTML 5 right around the corner, Adobe made a Valid Business Decision to discontinue supporting Flash on the Mobile Platform.  This has NOTHING to do with Verizon or Motorola or Google. It is 100% Adobe.
That said, the phones themselves still support Flash as Flash is only an application. you would need to change your Browser to a Browser that supports Flash (Dolphin Beta, and a few others still support Flash). So you can install Dolphin on your phone, then install Flash on your phone (you would need to get it from Adobe most likely). If Flash was on your phone it is most likely still there and once you install Dolphin you should be able to use it.

Without knowing anything about your computer we can't advise specifically. You can download CS6 versions in CC by checking the "older versions/ other versions" stuff in teh bottom section of the CC app's "Apps" tab, but that may not resolve your issues.

  • Adobe no longer supports my operating system?

    Mac OS X
    10.5.8
I have an older mac and am getting an error message about Adobe no longer supporting my operating system.. Is that an easy (and cheap) fix like an update? Or do I need a newer computer

    Hi theladyduggins,
You can check the basic system requirement for CC here; https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/system-requirements.html
So in order to use the Creative cloud or Adobe CS6 products on your machine, your machine should abe Mac 10.6.8 and above.
Creative cloud newer /latest version only works on Mac 10.7 and above.
So you can contact Apple to get your system upgraded to a higher version of Mac.

  • I have an iMac G5 isight (20" screen) Leopard OS 10.5.8 I do not have an intel chip. I am unable to open movie links on facebook using Adobe flash player. I called Adobe Systems and they said Adobe no longer supported computers that did not have intel chi

I have an iMac G5 (20 inch screen) i sight (no intel chip).Leopard OS 10.5.8. Recently I went on Facebook and tried to open a movie site someone had sent me on Facebook andwhen I tried to open the video on Facebook, I was told  I had to upgrade my Adobe Flash Player. i tried to do this, but turns out that Facebook is requiring folks to have an intel chip in order to view movies...this is outrageous!  Just think of all the folks in the world who have great running pre intel chip Apple computers. I called the Adobe Help line and was told that I really needed to buy a new computer....no thanks. How do I find a way to get a new version of Adobe for Facebook and youtube. I wish Apple could develop a way to have intel chips installed in the older computers. If you have any suggestions on this please let me know.
    Thanks, Sarah

Either get a screen cleaning cloth, or carefully us a slightly damp lint-free cloth and dry off with a dry link-=free cloth.
As to Flash Videos: I am in a similar same boat. I cannot watch flash videos on the BBC website or on BBC iPlayer, although all other flash videos (YouTube and FaceBook for example) are fine.
For reasons that passeth all understanding, they work with the PPC version of Firefox, called TenFourFoxG5.app, once you have anabled plug-ins, as it does not natively support Flash.
You can download TenFourFoxG5 from here:
    http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
Now for the intersting bit: TenFourFox, like Firefox, does not support most plug-ins. Unless you are prone to headaches (in which case don't) you can read about that here:
    http://code.google.com/p/tenfourfox/wiki/PluginsNoLongerSupported
    But there is a workaround!
Open TenFourFox and type in the address bar: about:config (no spaces) and click return. This gives you a warning that it might harm the application. Ignore that and click on 'I'll be careful, I promise' and you get the config file that you can edit - with great care.
    Look/search (scroll down) for: tenfourfox.plugins.enabled
Set it to true. (Double click it to toggle it)
Now close TenFourFox, open it again, and Flash will now work, as it now uses the plug-ins that Safari has stored.
I am using Flash 10.1.102.64 in TenFourFox and it works just fine.

  • Adobe no longer supporting Content Provider

Hi, I'm really interested in creating ebooks and selling them by using Adobe Content Server but I find that Adobe is no longer supporting the program. What are the repercussions of thisdecision? To me it says that Adobe is no longer interested in DRM and the ebook market. I thought I'd found the perfect solution for making ebooks pay.
As I understand it LiveCycle is a replacement but this seems to be aimed at the internal passing of documents in large corporations rather than selling comercial ebooks.
Can anybody let me know what the thinking is on this as searching the adobe site is like wading through a treacle of out of date and irrelevant information.
    Many thanks, in anticipation.

I see also about Fileopen: solution for DRM is more cheap than ACS but files are not so secure as the secured with Content Server (after the release of Adobe Reader 6), the plugin-handler gets the option to "crack" the distributed eBooks by means of the old version (please remember problems of Vladimir Skylarov in the popular case Adobe vs Skylarov) Advanced eBook Processor by ElcomSoft (new versions are limited and can't remove security in fileopen generated files). I think that Adobe must take a policy to sell the new LiveCycle Policy Server at a special price to previous registered users of ACS (we take the risks and search for people putting their contents with us). I think: the new LiveCycle Policy Server requires rewriting apps (a real cost) plus buying a software near to US$ 40.000. So included people who loves Adobe (I'm inside) and PDF format can take some peace of mind and follow with a very risky job, in current time, as distributing eBooks instead of take some low budget bussiness with higher level of revenues.
In our case we are working hard in a big project to put many eBooks for free, but requiring DRM and avoiding redistribution of files, trying to recover some of cultural inheritance of Latinamerica in serious and high quality digital editions but our budget is small.
Parhaps we must take another way... ¿As you?

  • Trying to download Illus CS6  adobe no longer supports my version of OS which is 10.8?

Ive been using Illus CS6 for several months. Had to update my payment info and was using the 30 day trial. Trying to subscribe now and download but I'm getting a "doesn't support my version of OS anymore" message. The system requirements list 10.8 which I have but it still isn't working. I've installed all software updates available.

JPDillard14 I would recommend removing Illustrator CS6 using the uninstaller locate in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers and then reinstalling.
You also mentioned updating your payment info?  Are you a Creative Cloud member or do you have a subscription to Illustrator?  If so is there a specific reason you are running Illustrator CS6 as opposed to Illustrator CC?

  • I asked this Q Aug 20; confirmed account. Firefox crashed again at 8:44 pm: Using Firefox 6. 0 None of crash articles apply. Disabled Java add-ons as I'm using Windows 2000 and all updates are for XP. Adobe no longer supports Windows 2000.

The crash happens when I close Firefox. There is no dump report so I can't give a Crash ID.
Firefox started crashing after I upgraded to 6.0 so I wonder if I should go back to the earlier version.
    Thank you.

Why would this be the case?
Worked fine with Leopard and Snow Leopard.
Same everything except installed lion and now is says My keyboard ain't got enough power.

Lion is a new world.  Even the first few days have the CPU/HD very busy indexing all of the new files for Spotlight.

  • Flashplayer no longer supported for power pc? can't see any videos

can not download flashplayer to see videos When I do it says devis with power pc processors are no longer supported. Any one else having this issue?

The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFl ash
You can check here what version of Flash player you actually have installed:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version, 10.2.152.25, 10.3.x beta, or later, is for Intel Macs only, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.0.1.152 is for Lion.
    * Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC Macs, you need to go here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html  and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. The first one on the list, Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

Do I have to purchase Photoshop Elements because the newer photoshops are cost prohibitive?

Do you mean CS2 won't run on your present operating system?
Admittedly CS2 is rather old and Adobe no longer supports it, but it should still run on older operating systems.  Which OS do you have?
Elements is one option.  However if you want PS Extended with all the bells & whistles, look at the $10/mo  Photography plan which includes Lightroom.

  • How can I view the videos of adobe flash player that apple no longer support?

How can I view the videos from the internet and networking of adobe flash player that apple no longer support?

Flash Player version 10.1.102.64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users. However, this Flash version won't work for many videos on Facebook, YouTube and other sites. Adobe's latest version, 10.2.x or later, is only for Intel Macs. Adobe will not provide a newer Flash version for PPC Macs.
The message requesting that you download Adobe Flash Player takes you to Flash Player requiring an Intel processor. Doesn't work on a PowerPC processor. I found a hack, installed it & it works with Firefox, TenFourFox & Safari.
Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

  • Why am i directed to adobe flash when it is no longer supported in linux/ubuntu?

i keep getting directed to adobe flash d/l page in linux. shouldn't it be pepperflash?

Adobe still supports the Flash plugin on Linux but only 11.2 with security/stability fixes.
The Pepper Flash comes with Chrome and Mozilla has no plans to change to Pepper for Firefox on any OS.
On Linux there is a experimental wrapper that can allow you to use the Pepper Flash plugun in Firefox.
A number of sites, especially news related ones do not support Flash 11.2/11.1 anymore.

Seem to have tried everything. i.e. chrome, firebird, archived flash players, etc. All not supported. Any insight??? Hi Andy, that is correct, they don't support PPC Macs anymore.
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

Once downloaded if it doesn't unzip automatically the double click on that file.
Look for the fp10.1.102.64_and_9.0.289.0archive folder, open it, look for the Flash Player 10.1.102.64 folder & open and look for 101r10264 folder & open it, double click on the flashplayer101r102_64_ubmac.dmg file, choose the Install Adobe Flash Player file to install... they don't make it easy!

  • Flash Player 9 No Longer Supported

As of February 8, 2011 Flash Player 9 is no longer supported. Adobe will no longer provide security updates for Flash Player 9 and recommends that all Flash Player users on supported systems upgrade to the most recent version of the player through the Flash Player Download Center.
    Details here:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/406/kb406791.html
The latest version of Adobe FLASH player is 10.2.152.26
New versions can be obtained from  http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
It is advisable to use the UNinstaller (to remove older versions) before installing the new version: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe
Note: There us an ActiveX version for IE users, and a separate plug-in version for users of alternative browsers (Mozilla  Firefox, Opera, etc.).

    Hello,
In another thread titled "Flash Player 9 crashes Internet
    Explorer 6"
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=44&catid=184&threadid =1236801&enterthread=y
I described the exact same symptoms as yours.
I too arrived at the same conclusion as you.
I believe that since my Pentium II (200 mhz.) does not
support MMX technology, then that explains why Flash Player 8 and
newer always crash the first time I visit a webpage supporting
    Flash content.
I am wondering if the reason Flash 8 and 9 get installed
without alerting the user that their CPU does not support MMX is
because there is no flag in the Windows configuration file to
indicate that this is the case.
If such a flag exists and is incorrectly set, then perhaps by
changing it, then Flash Player would load with an alternate set of
software routines to mimic the missing hardware instructions.
I am trying to find out more about how the installation of
Windows goes about detecting and advertising the presence or
    absence of MMX.

I installed Lion 10.7.4.     Went to use Photoshop Cs and got a popup window.  You can't open the application Adobe Photoshop CS because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.    Is there a way of getting this to work or do I have to get newest version of all of my Power PC apps?

    Welcome to Apple Communities
PowerPC applications are unsupported in newer versions. You can upgrade Photoshop or you can install Snow Leopard in a partition.
    1. Open Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities) and select your drive
    2. Go to Partitions tab, press + button, create a new partition and press Apply
    3. Insert the Snow Leopard install DVD and reboot pressing C key
    4. Install it in the new partition
    5. If you want to change boot, go to System Preferences > Startup Disk and select 10.7
