Adobe not recognizing Nook

I had to reload Adobe Digital Editions to my computer. Now my nook is not recognizing it when I try to load books. Any suggestions?

Please give us info on the printer/scannner, OS and version of Acrobat. Not all scanners are supported. The printer/scanner company has to provide the appropriate driver. For example, my Fijustsu ScanSnap has never been and likley never would be supported, but I knew that when I purchased the scanner.

When downloading a PDF file from the internet, Adobe Reader 7.1.0 does not recognize the file and will not open it. I have successfully deleted the other Adobe versions, so this is the only version that remains. Is it possible that there is a different version of Adobe Reader that works with Panther (10.3.9)?

The difference seems to be in the 'automatic' opening on the PC and the having to open it on the Mac.
Yes, PDF's are downloaded to my desktop... Mac seems to wait for my input to see if I want to look at it, if I click on it (icon on desktop) it opens (in the pre-selected application). It does not just put it on the screen in front of whatever else I am doing (looking at)... a nice thing actually.
I can download numerous PDF's (or other forms) and they all land on the desktop, while I still go about the web or e-mail activity. With my 'always on' web service, this is maybe a mute point, but say one had a timed web account and did not want to be online any longer then necessary (can always look them over off line without incurring time-debt). So it seems that the PC 'assumes' an always on service while Mac 'assumes' a timed service.
Is there a way to change this within the Mac framework? Perhaps!?! I would think that in the Download Application (on the browser) there would be some setting for 'what to do' with the downloads... but, do you want 'every' download to open once it lands? No matter what it is? Or would you rather be able to view them on your own time when you want to? An example: say you are downloading a PDF attached to an e-mail from a friend and as it takes 10-15 seconds to complete, your supervisor walks into your area and BLEEP, up pops the PDF for all to see... not that one should be doing that... BUT!
So I could see that setting at work (got you), however, I still like the way Mac does it, and let's me pick the time. This is my take on it. I have never looked into the Download App to see if alterations were possible (browser dependent on options) till now. In Camino (the browser I use in Panther) go to Camino > Preferences > Downloads, there are options of what to do with them. Where to put them, how to open them, if to open them, etc. So look up in the Browser Preferences and see what you find. That will maybe let you choose some different settings and see if you like it. At home with your Mac, you can experiment.

Cannot download ebooks from public library. error "copy not authorized". not recognizing adobe account

Trouble downloading ebooks from public library. Have done it many times recent problem. Error "copy not allowed". Suspect that Nook is not recognizing the adobe account.

I've been downloading books from the New York Public Library to my PC and then I move the book into ADE and from ADE to my Nook without any problems. I've also been able to return the books from ADE to the library although I have yet to learn how to delete them Nook. You may want to recertify your computer for the ADE by selecting Library on the ADE b ar and moving down to "authorize computer"and click "finish" I also do that when I have the Nook connected and select device and once it has been confirmed as authorized I copy the book to the Nook. I hope this helps.

Most tablets are not recognized by ADE (digital editions).
Try installing a compatible Adobe DRM app on the tablet, Bluefire seems the most reliable.
Authorize Bluefire with your Adobe ID.
Then copy books from the computer to the tablet using your file manager (Windows Explorer, Mac Finder) to the tablet as a mounted drive.
You should be able to borrow and read library books directly on the tablet without going via ADE.
The Overdrive app is specially designed for that, but I have found it rather stroppy in use (on iPad).
I usually use a dedicated ereader for reading rather than the iPad as it weight about a million times less,
so still need to go via ADE.

Adobe products are not recognized with my Internet Explorer. I cannot open PDF documents on websites and I cannot play MSN games since Flash Player is not found. I have tried manage add-ons and enable status without success. Can anyone supply detailed information on how to fix this problem?

Are you running IE10 in 64-bit mode? The Adobe Reader plugin is 32-bit, and can only run on a 32-bit browser.
Regarding Flash Player, do you have ActiveX Filtering enabled? Disable it.

The licenses are operating system specific, so one option would be to retain use of the Windows machine you had before the Mac.
If you want to try to use the older stuff on your new Mac you can try installing Windows emulation software such as Bootcamp.

Purple Lobster your Creative Suite 4 serial number is for Windows or Mac only. If you were previously using it on Windows then it is likely you have a Windows license. You can verify by checking your serial number at http://www.adobe.com/. Why is Youtube not recognizing my Adobe Flash Player Add-On?

I just did the auto update so that Firefox 17.0 was installed. Anyway, for whatever reason, Youtube only seems to notice that my Adobe Flash Player add-on exists when it wants to. At the moment, it's not recognizing it, so I can't play videos. I've had to close out my current sessions of Firefox to get it to recognize the Flash Player, and then even then it's a crap shoot. What is going on? How can I fix this? Flash is one of the most basic programs needed in an internet browser, these days.

I have authorized my HD+ with my email and number. I attached the HD+ to my computer. Then I opened ADE. It still is not recognizing my nook. What am I missing.

ADE does not recognize tablets.
You can transfer files downloaded to ADE using file manager (windows expolorer, mac finder) to mounted drive, or by something like Dropbox.
As long as ADE and the tablet app are registered to the same user, you should be able to read the book on the tablet.
You may need top open it explicitly, it may not automatically turn up in the app's library.

Format AVHCD not recognized in Adobe CS4

I have download the trial version of CS4 which I have updated in to 4.2.1 with the adobe updater.
I have a camcorder SR10 Sony for which I have record in AVHCD Full HD.
When I try to import my MTS file, Premiere tell me that the format is not recognized.
I want to try Adobe for video editing.
What I have done wrong ?

As Ann points out, NOTHING related to MPEG (any sort) is supported by the trial version, due to licensing issues with the MainConcept MPEG CODEC. The full-paid version has full MPEG (and AVCHD) support, plus it has Encore, the authoring program. With the trial, the best test footage will be DV-AVI Type II.
If you go with the full-paid version, please uninstall the trial, run the Adobe Clean Script CS4 several times (maybe running a Registry cleaner afterwards), and then install and update your full-paid version of PrPro CS4. Otherwise, you will have other problems. The unistall, Clean Script, install order is VERY important. Do not omit a single step.

Myriad Semibold not recognized in Adobe CC software?

Myriad Pro Semibold not recognized in Adobe CC Software. Really bizarre. Semibold-Condensed and a number of others with that variation do display.
When I checked the font file itself, I noticed I can preview just fine, but at closer look the meta-data in the font file is making it incorrect! When I open it, the name at top of font preview window reads as Myriad Pro Light instead of MyriadPro-Semibold. ...But when closed, in the font list of my Fonts folder, it is indeed noted as MyriadPro-Semibold.
Hmm, anyone else encounter this issue? This is a commonly used font for me in many of my files so how can I fix? I have no access to this font via the Character palette.

What Adobe Digital app on your iPad? If you are talking about a third-party app (like Bluefire Reader) you need to connect your iPad to your computer, open iTunes, select the iPad, and select Apps in the Sidebar. Scroll down to the File Sharing section, select the app you plan on using, select Add (bottom right), navigate to where the book is on your computer, select the book and sync your iPad.
