Adobe OCR function in Xen Desktop

When using OCR function within a Xen Desktop environment.
The OCR function works ok when performing this on a locally saved pdf file but refuses to work on a network location based pdf file.
does anyone know if there is a reason to this or a fix?

There is no OCR function in Adobe Reader. You can buy and install Adobe Acrobat.

Can you wrap a Muse export in Adobe Air to make a desktop application?

Hello,
I was just wondering if it is possible to wrap a Muse HTML folder (whole export) in Adobe Air to make a desktop application? I have managed to wrap the business catalyst URL that Muse gives you temporarily and made a desktop application. As this is temporary is it possible to wrap the entire project (HTML)?
I'm very new to this so i hope this all makes sense.

You are not wasting your time. It can be done...
In order to wrap C++ for use by C, you must write wrapper functions declared with 'extern "C"' linkage for every C++ method you intend to call directly from C. This must be done using a C++ compiler. Once linked into a new library, any C exectuable or C library should be able to link this new library and call the wrapper functions you have declared 'extern "C"'.
If you still need more help, I would advise you to post in a C++ language forum perhaps. Best of luck, not that you should need it though... -Ralph

Problems installing Adobe Air and BBC iPlayer Desktop
I'm running Windows 7 32 bit on an ASUS netbook with 2mb ram. I installed both Air 3.7 and BBC iPlayer Desktop using Google Chrome. I downloaded 3 BBC programmes. Two ran fine but the third wouldn't start and I kept getting a message to try again later. I deleted this programme and downloaded it again, with the same result.
So I uninstalled both Air and the BBC iPlayer Desktop, the Air exe file and the two folders at the following locations:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\AIR\   and
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\BBCiPlayerDesktop.xxx
Since doing this each time I try to install Air either on its own or with the BBC iPlayer software I get the message part way through installation:
"Sorry, an error has occurred.
An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator."
I have run the Microsoft Fix it programme and still get the same result.
I have tried everything on your Trouble Shooting page apart from the bit about the elevated command prompt, but as I'm the sole user and administrator, that seems unnecessary.
I have closed Chrome and tried installation using Windows Explorer but with the same result.
I have tried all the above with Microsoft Security Essentials running and disabled. And I have tried the same with Astrill on and off.
I have had a response from the BBC with much the same advice as appears on your trouble shooting page.

I'm using Adobe forms and fetching its output in an XSTRING PDF format. How can I download this XSTRING output to a PDF file and store on the local file system?
I'm using the following approach to getting a PDF output:

Hello,
Yes, you can delete it.
But, the Adobe folder you want to remove is actually the setup for Acrobat. So, you might save it at some other location so that if in future you need to re-install the software, there is no need to download the entire product.

I turned off the anti virus but the same thing happened, I'm getting tired of downloading and then having to uninstall Adobe. There must be an answer, something on the computer is not right. I had problems with a CD drive my computer stopped reading it, Replaced the CD burner and it still would not read, took it to be repaired and was a faulty registry which the guy at the shop fixed but the problem with adobe is only since I had the computer fixed last week or is this just a coincidence?

Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional - OCR Function

I have scanned documents that were saved in Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional. I'm trying to do text comparisons. I try to convert them to searchable text using OCR but it's telling me that it's below the minimum of 144 dpi. Any suggestions as to how I can get these scanned documents to compare for textual differences? I no longer have access to the original (prior to conversion to pdf files) documents. I have at least 10 documents, each over 25 pages that need to be compared for text differences. Thanks!

Save the pages in Acrobat to the TIFF format, using a resolution of 300 dpi
and the color set to monochrome. Then use the "Create PDF from multiple
files" feature to put the TIFF images back into a single PDF to be OCR'd.

Flex 4.5.1 in Adobe Air on Playbook or Desktop

I have been trying to figure this out and I am stuck. I have tried the SquigglyUIExample and it works perfect in html using mx so the dictionary files and libs should be in the proper folders. I am trying to use the following code in a view container which is part of Flash Mobile Project using a Tabbed Application in Flex 4.5. Since I am using spark components I have switched out the AdobeSpellingUI with AdobeSpellingUIEx.swc in the lib folder.

Yes AIR 2.6 is compatible with iOS 4.2.1.I'd recommend you update to the latest version of FB and AIR. You should download the free upgrade to Flash Builder 4.6 and build from there. It's much improved and AIR 3.x has better performance all around.
Regarding the incompatibility issue, you're absolutely sure you have an iPhone 3GS and not the 3G? They look nearly identical. One sure way to tell is to plug it into iTunes and see if you can upgrade the OS to the latest iOS 5.x. If you can't upgrade to iOS 5, then it's for sure a 3G and is not compatible with AIR 2.6+

Adobe Reader 9 Installer on Desktop?

I just installed Adobe Reader 9 on a new Win Vista machine and it intalled three icons on my desktop: Adobe Reader 9, Adobe Reader 9 Installer, Acrobat.com. I understand why I need the Adobe Reader 9, but why were the other two left on my desktop after the intall? Can I delete the Adobe Reader 9 Installer and the Acroat.com? I don't really want them on my desktop if I don't need them. Thanks for the help. Mac

I notice the adobe reader 9 installer folder is full of stuff. I wonder if you can delete it after reader 9 is installed?
Also I have adobe Air in my programs. Can that be deleted too?
Now when I first downloaded reader 9 I clicked ok for the Adobe DLM active x and that allowed something called "getPlus for Adobe" from NOS Microsystems. When I installed adobe Reader 9 on another computer, I did not click ok to Adobe DLM active x and i did NOT get reader 9installer on my dek top nor the getPlus for Adobe
I wonder if you don't use Adobe DLM active X and if you delete Adobe Air, Acrobat.com, doe you still have the newer secure Reader 9 functions?
