Adobe ohotoshop 7.0 stoped working

Question

I upgraded to leopard 10.5 and now my adobe photoshop 7.0 program has stoped working. It starts to load and the I get a message: An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred because of a program error. Photoshop will now exit.
I deleted the program, restarted the computer and installed photoshop again. But it still gives me the same message.
Please I am beging, Help!

Elements will open psd files with no problem, it will even open psd file of some complexity, including multiple layers, text layers, adjustment effects. It will ignore alpha channels of course, and while it will display any layer effects you applied, they don't appear in the layers pallette and you can't change them, you have them, they just work differently.
With regard to text: as long as you have the same fonts you had pre-Leopard all will be fine. If you are missing some font you used in an old project Elements will substitute something else. It will tell you so. But then so will Photoshop CS.
While there are some things Elements doesn't have that Photoshop CS does, there is often a work around to get the same thing. One major difference is layer masks, but see for instance these on how to get around this:

Read the Adobe description of Elements 6 and see what you think. Personally, I'm going for Elements, and also going to investigate the capablities of the GIMP.
