Adobe on N73

Anyone come across this problem. Adobe on my N73 will not load. Cannot find a way of reinstalling it so am stuck. Anyone know hjow to fix this?
Thanks

Well usually you just take it to your Nokia authorised repair centre and have them re-load the V2 software, I would suggest letting them format the phone too so that whatever problem there is now it is not restored when you try to restore a backup.
Which country are you from? If you can get V3.0638.0.0.30 it is the best software variant I have come across so far and changes a lot of things on the phone and even includes more settings for sound and 2 new themes.

  • Adobe files on the N73

I have just tried loading an adobe file onto my N73 using PC Suite. The file is a train timetable and when it appears on the phone only the background appears - none of the times are shown. The file opens on my PC and also opens properly when dragged into the Documents section of PCSuite. Previous timetables have been fine. The version of Adobe on the PC is 7.0. Is there some conflict between the version on my phone and the one on the PC??

The Adobe acrobat viewer on the Nokia phone is very basic, some features in regular viewer are not implemented.
Knowledge not shared is knowledge wasted!
If you find it helpfull, it's not hard to click the STAR..

  • N73 Adobe .pdf reader memory issues

I have just purchased an N73 and a 2Gb memory card, I have loaded my contacts and a number of media files onto the card (mp3, jpg , pdf, doc and html file, a couple of profiles, MSN and F-Secure anti-virus software).
There is 38Mb of phone memory remaining and over 520Mb of memory card memory but when I try and open a file of 3mb I get insufficient memory to open adobe files message (it works with 600k pdf files).
Is there a size restriction with virtual memory.
I am not running any applications in the background and have gone back to the store and tried viewing the file on an N73 out of the box with the same results.

There is no virtual memory in the sense of being able to compensate lack of RAM with memory on a storage device (i.e., what is known as paging).
So, the N73 has a fixed amount of available RAM after boot (around 16MB, if my memory serves me right).
A long press of the menu key will list all the apps (tasks) that are currently consuming RAM. You can close all those and free up some (or reboot the phone and as the first thing launch the program you wish to run).
If that's not sufficient (still not enough memory), then there's nothing that you can do (unless opening only smaller files is enough).
Of course, Adobe could rewrite the app to consume less RAM (and make better use of "disk" space to compensate).

  • Adobe Reader LE 1.5

So with Adobe Reader LE 1.5 on my E51, when i open up pdf files i haven't gotten a memory problem yet but i have put 5 pdf files on my phone and they all have at least over 250 pages. With one of them, i can view all 264 out of 264 without a problem which is 732 kB but then with the other 4 well ok... the first one out of these 4 has 260 pages and i can go up to about page 151 but when i scroll down to 152, it starts at the beginning again and i can't go anywhere past page 151 without it just returning to the beginning again. This its weird cos this one has less pages then the other one and 570 kB. Its pretty much exactly the same for the other three, i can never get past page 151 without it returning to the beginning. What can i do so i can view all of it and why can it view the first file but not these others?

Apart from the size, the mobile PDF version also needs to have properly tagged files, because it is not full-featured Adobe (Acrobat) Reader. To ensure best compatibility, files shall be exported as mobile-optimized. Read more here:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/readerle/
Unfortunately, it turns out that Adobe had passed the Reader LE development to Quickoffice and, man, they'd bill you $15 for the upgrade
Also, the problem you are facing might be caused by faulty PDF structure. But since PDF files are not human-readable and not open-source it will be hard to fix it. Though the 'cannot pass 151th page' symptom sounds as a bug

  • Adobe Reader LE 1.5 and Deleting Recent Documents

On my E71, I am having difficulty deleting PDFs from the Reader's recent document list. There is no option to remove them, and the files don't seem to be stored anywhere in the filesystem that I can get to via Bluetooth or the File Manager.
Any ideas? I hate to have my memory occupied by documents that I'll never need again.
    Thanks, all!

This is the rare annoying thing  i found on N73 too the recent documents list in Adobe reader and real player never gets cleared up initially i found it to happen when i viewd a pdf file directly from the email instead of downloading it to my mobile later that was not the case it remained permanently there for all the files irrespective of viewing it online or storing it to the device. Only way to clear that up is to do a format using *#7370# AFAIK(which will erase all ur phone data) it is a silly thing to do for filename staying in the recent viewed list so i live with it

  • Adobe Reader fails

Trying to open Adobe Reader on my N73, it just fails.
The screen appears "cleaned" (just wallpaper) for a few seconds, then it returns to menu. This also happens when trying to open a pdf-file.. Anyone familiar with this? Also tried to update the phone. It worked uintill I restored my data from the memorycard (wich ofcourse is crucial to have).

I wrote a reply and posted it but do not see it. Perhaps I am not using this forum correctly. Anyway, in the reply I thought I had sent I wrote that indeed I have read the article suggested and have followed carefully all the directions allowing permissions. There was also an article in Microsoft Support on the same Error 1317 but this one involved installation of Visual Studio. The directions were more detailed than the ones in the Adobe article and involved setting the permissions on the Drive as well as all the parent folders. I did all that as well. The problem persists and I am at my wits end. Any further suggestions would be very much appreciated. Incidentally, is it normal that the Start Menu is the final folder listed? ie Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu

  • Reading pdf files on N73 problem

    Hello,
When I open pdf files on my N73 mobile, I get the error message Not enough memory.
Although I have got memory space is available.
    Thanks

Mail can read them as attachments. Many people like GoodReader from the app store.
If you are referring to Adobe Reader, it is important to understand that you cannot download anything which is not in the app store to the iPad.

  • Adobe Reader on S60 3rd won't work any more: USER 11

    Hi,
on my Nokia N73 Adobe Reader worked fine until yesterday. Then I always got the following message: Appl. closed, Adobe Reader, USER 11. Even if I try to start the application itself, I get this message.
    Any help on this issue?
    Thx,
    Dagmar

    Same problem here.
You have an alternative by MBrain. You can get a free demo version here:
    http://www.mbrainsoftware.com/S60_3rd/Pdf/Pdf+S60_3rd_1_67_14_demo.sis
It works 100% way better than Adobe crap no complains so far.

  • New n73 software update problems

I recently updated to the new software on my n73 via nokia (it was literally yesterday) and all seemed to be fine. now everytime i turn the phone on, it asks me for the date and time! Its either something i have done wrong, or the software, yet everything went fine when updating, except restoring my data from my memory card, which seemed to find it funny to delete all my contacts, and calender entries. I on the other hand didnt. It wouldnt bother me so much, except i am always turning my phone off and using the alarm, so if it doesnt know the time, my alarm wont go off! Nokia calls the n73 a smartphone, however everytime i use it, or read what people are posting here i start to think otherwise! surely a smartphone could at least remember the time and date!
Another problem im having, which was before and still after updating to firmware 3.6 or whichever it is, is the adobe pdf reader doesnt work, it seems to try and open, however the screen just flashes for a second and returns to the menu. i have tried opening many different sizes of pdf, and even opening from file manager, but nothing seems to work!
    can anyone assist me? thanks

Maybe its just something that has gone slightly wrong with the brand new firmware, as i say everything else seems to be working fine (Except the pdf reader )
Try to choose "local time" instead of "London gmt" if you have set "auto update the time". All operators may not support "auto update the time" and in that case you have to set up the time yourself.
If the Adobe pdf reader is still not working you can download and reinstall it from Adobe's web site (operating system Mobile, Version symbian OS, and select language...).

  • Flash Plugin for N73 Browser

I have purchased N73 and am enjoying the browsing experience with N73.
But I feel that it does not have the Flash plugin for the browser. I want to know what is the default browser for Nokia N73 and how to get the flash plugin for that?

The default browser is "Services". The phone also has "Web", which is another (newer) browser.
Neither one supports "full" Flash as used by web designers on many sites.
The phone supports Flash-Lite 1.1, and I think with the "Services" browser it might work on web sites with embdedded Flash-Lite 1.1 compatible content, too. Never tried it myself (not that many web sites that support Flash-Lite anyway; I don't know of any).
There is also no separately downloadable/installable "full" Flash plugin available, I'm afraid. You could always ask Adobe to make one, if they think it is possible.
You can, of course, also ask the web site owners/developers for a more mobile friendly site that doesn't use PC-only technologies.
