  • Adobe Application Manager Download Error (and other problems)

Last week I purchased a Creative Cloud membership (Student and Teacher Edition, if that matters at  all).  When I tried to download applications, the Adobe Application Manager seemed to be unable to connect and instead displayed "Download Error. Press Retry to try again or contact customer support."  I read some of the responses to this problem on the forums, and after trying several things, I got it to work (I'm honestly not sure what I did that caused it to work).  However, it is now failing to work again and I can't seem to fix it this time.  As an additional problem, When I tried to open Adobe Premiere Pro (which I managed to download when I got the App Manager working for a while), I got the opening screen that asked me to open a project or start a new project.  No matter what I clicked on, Premiere Pro closed with an error message. Just as with the App Manager (and at the same time), I managed to get Premiere Pro to work (it seemed to work after I set permissions so I thought I solved it), so I was able to use it for a day.  However, now the problem has returned.
I don't know if these two problems are related, but they started working at the same time and stopped working at the same time, so I'm posting them together in case there is a connection.  I am running Windows Vista on my home computer.  I can sign on to the creative cloud online without problem so it recognizes me as a creative cloud subscriber.  My Internet connection is working fine.  I have disabled all firewalls and it still doesn't work.  Very frustrating, obviously.
Thanks for your time and any help or suggestions you can give.

Kardypaine for your Internet configuration difficulties I would recommend reviewing Sign in or activation errors | CS6, CS5.5 Subscriptions, CS6 Perpetual - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html.
For the failure of Premiere Pro to open you will want to review the install log to see if you received an installation error.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation logs at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

  • *FIX?* Adobe Application Manager - Download Error (Creative Cloud)

So I just started the subscription for the Creative Cloud and I downloaded the Adobe Application Manager, which seemed to have installed fine, and when I go into my creative cloud and click download, under for example photoshop, I get Download Error - Contact Customer Support in my AAM (Adobe Application Manager). I have tried many things that people in the forums have suggested from turing off my firewalls, to uninstalled and restarting my computer, I downloaded the most up to date AAM. Any other suggestions? I just got my subscription literally moments ago so I am a little bummed I can't access any of my new software.
I am using a Mac, if that makes any different. Hope someone can help.
Also, when I go to open up the AAM without clicking download for a adobe product the same Download Error pops up.
*So I may have fixed the problem accidentally, I downloaded a trial of photoshop. When I downloaded the photoshop trial it allowed me to use my subscription for my creative cloud. It also had me download the Adobe Download Assistant. I think the Adobe Download Assistant was the thing I was missing, now my AAM seems to let me download the rest of the programs I need. Hope this helps anybody else.*

TGarcia if you are on a managed network then please work with your I.T. department to ensure that the Adobe Application Manager/PDApp.exe has proper access to the Internet.
If you are on a non-managed network then please see Sign in or activation errors | CS6, CS5.5 Subscriptions, CS6 Perpetual - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html.

  • Adobe App Manager- Download Error

I signed up for creative cloud a couple of hours ago... and have been trying to download apps ever since, but I can't download a single thing.  I've redownloaded and installed the application manager. I've run the CreativeSuite cleaner tool twice. Diabled firewalls. And still get "Download Error. Press Retry to try again or contact customer support." - I get this message when opening the manager directly or when clicking to download an application through the creative cloud app center.  Getting to be really frustrating.
Is there any other way to download the programs without using the application manager??? If not and it can't get solved, I guess I have to cancel my account. :/

    Hi tisjewelphotog,
In case like this where in even the Adobe Application Manager isnt working at all on your machine, you could try downloading a trial from Adobe.com and then activate the subscripton using your Adobe id and password during the installation .
If the above mentioned steps doesnt work , i would request you to please create a new Admin account on your system and try doing the same in that account .

    Hi mpassey,
The install error above indicates permissions issues with Common Color Profile and VC++ package install.
Please try downloading and installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable Package (x64) manually from : http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679
Restart the computer in the Selective start mode , this will give step by step description (http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-services-windows.html )
Secondly,  reset the permission on the C:\Adobetemp folder to read and write.
Once done start the installation again and then check.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Download Error

When I download and extract adobe acrobat 9 std files, it says I don't have enough storage.  I have a yoga II and should have plenty of storage.  Is there something else I need to do?

    Hey mattg77428319,
Could you please share the exact error message that appears when extracting Acrobat std files.
You might try emptying the TEMP folder by typing '%temp%' in the Run window (Press Windows + R) and then check again.
What version of OS are you working on? Is it compatible with Acrobat 9 std?
    Let me know.

  • Adobe Cloud says 'Download Error'

I've had Cloud installed for nearly a year now, and all has been fine. Then, possibly after I installed Fireworks a week ago or so, it doesn't let me update my Apps and, even worse, crashes After Effects on launch.
I've been through Adobe support online where a helpful guy from India ran me through some options ie. remove preferences, uninstall Cloud, run the Adobe Clean tool etc. But nothing worked. Everything else seems to be working fine, fro my Adobe id to linking with Behance etc
When I ran the Clean Tool I accidentally uninstalled After Effects, Bridge and one other ap. But, because of this error message I can't re-download them, as the download needs to go through the Apps control panel - whcih of course isn't working. Argh!
    Any help much appreciated!

Went and talked to someone in Adobe support  (a lovely lady called Rashmi) who guided me through the problem.  I think it was a recent security update from Apple that must has rejigged my permissions. So it was a case of dumping old preferences, and then setting a few Adobe folder permissionsfrom 'read' only to 'read & write'. Job done. All working fine again.

  • Adobe Reader 9 download error

I recently tried to download an upgrade for my Adobe Reader.  Now, when I try to open the program I get "error 1606 - could not access network location %APPDATA%\".  I have tried to uninstall with no success. I tried to repeat the download process but I'm still stuck.  Hope I can get some help!

Originally, I was at the local city goverment site.  The file I was trying to download was a schedule of children's summer activities for my grandchildren.  I got a message that I needed to update my Adobe Reader in order to view the schedule.  After I had waited for the download, at about 96% completion, an install wizard activated.  I clicked continue and then the error message popped up.
I have since (yesterday) downloaded the program from the Adobe website, however the results are exactly the same.  My computer seems to think I have all the information but I immediately get an internal message error when I try to initiate the Reader.
I am using Vista O/S if that makes a difference.

  • Adobe Reader 10 download error

When trying to download Adobe Reader 10 I receive an error at the end of the download that Adobe Reader 8.3 is using some of the files that are to be modified and must be closed.  I have tried to delete 8.3 and don't see it in my program files any longer, but still receive this message.  Any ideas of how to close something that's not even there?

Since you mention "program files" I assume that you are on Windows.
Download and run the cleaner tool from http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
    then try the install again.

  • ADOBE UPDATER _ DOWNLOAD ERROR

    Extension Manager 6.0.8 Update
    Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
    Can anyone help?

The most possible reason is that some files under Extension Manager folder were changed. To minimize the patch download size, we use incremental update mechanism. If any of files being updated was changed after installation, this file can't be updated.
You can delete Extension Manager CS6 installation folder manually, download the latest installer from http://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_download/em6_download.html then install it. After that you will have the latest version.
