  • Adobe password reset & Sony e-reader implications

I have just reset my password with Adobe but not sure what I need to do to promulgate the changes through to my laptop (windows) and the Sony e-reader software to allow books to downloand and sync with bookstore account without losing any of my previous downloads.  I have just downloaded ADE 2.0 based on online support but no idea what to do next and cannot afford to lose existing books. Not sure about de-authorizing and authorizing and if that will cause grief.
Advice appreciated as this is not my area of expertise and once it was set up several years ago I have not had to touch it (apart from software updates) so am like a baby learning to walk again.

For now, I'd leave it well alone and see how things work.
If they don't work, ask again with more details.
I think (not sure) that once the authorization has been made to the underlying AdobeID, that authorization remains.
The device doesn't recheck the current password (or even the current email) associated with the AdobeID,
and things just go on working.
I had to change my Adobe password recently (after the breach in the Adobe security)
and didn't change anything on either my Sony device or ADE.
There shouldn't be an issue deauthorizing and reauthorizing if you do need to.
Of course, you will need the new password to reauthorize.
The Adobe infrastructure should keep count properly and know you haven't added an extra device,
but if it doesn't you may need to contact Adobe to get all your authorizations reset.
Post back if that seems to be an issue.

If you use Overdrive library books, you will probably find that ADE2.0 does not work correctly with the Sony.
In that case, replace ADE2.0 with the older but much more reliable v1.7.2.
There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1).  Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

  • I do not know the password required to install lightroom 5 on my mac to match the name John Eade. download completed OK

I have downloaded the software for Lightroom 5.5 on my mac, but when it comes to installing it a window comes up with my name and requests a password.  I have no idea what the password is - all attempts have failed.  Where can I access to correct password

That has nothing to do with Adobe. It wants your system password.

I am trying to install the new Adobe Flash Player and my password is not working, but I can sign into my Adobe account. I have reset my password and it still works for the account.

It's not.... your Adobe password, but your Operating System password, required to install software.

  • Help require with installing Adobe Acrobat onto my Macbook Pro Retina.

Help require with installing Adobe Acrobat onto my Macbook Pro Retina.
I have successfully installed all of my creative cloud apps with the exception being acrobat.
I cannot print from Indesign to PDF.
I have unistalled, reinstalled and still no Adobe Acrobat.
I now have to go back to Windows 8 and create the PDF's there.
Any one know how to get around this issue?
    Thanks in advance
    Kelvin

OSX has effectively killed the ability to print to pdf, (print to pdf eliminates most of the "Rich features" of current pdf).
Export from InDesign, always, excpet for the 1% of the time where you know why print to pdf would produce a better result.

  • Is my password to install adobe flash player installer 14 the same as my adobe password?

is my password to install adobe flash player 14 the same as my adobe password?

This is my personal machine - an iMac - and the installer insists on a password being used.  I have tried all my passwords and nothing fits.  I have spent hours trying to resolve this problem and so have others.  Please help us to get Flash Player.

This password prompt is presented by your operating system, and is intended to keep you from accidentally installing software.
If this is your personal machine and you don't need a password to log into the computer when it first starts up, you can probably leave the password blank and click OK to get past this prompt.  If this is your personal machine and your normal password isn't working, check to make sure that CAPS LOCK is off, and type the password carefully.
If this is your work machine and it's asking for an Administrator password, well, you'll need to have a conversation with your friendly IT person.

  • How to avoid "App requires Adobe Flash." error message when Adobe Flash is already installed??!!

On my new Lenovo Yoga 3 PC laptop I am trying to install Kayak and Pandora apps but once these apps are downloaded, whenever I try to open them, an error message pops up saying: ADOBE FLASH REQUIRED. The Kayak (or Pandora) app requires Adobe Flash. Installation is free.  "Install" or "Not Now".
I have installed Adobe Flash 10 times and rebooted etc. but I still cannot use those apps because of this error message.
    This is driving me crazy.
I have checked to confirm that the newest version of Adobe Flash IS installed and working on my computer.
    What can I do?????
    Thank you.

Typically when software applications are using an embedded browser window that wants Flash, they're looking for the ActiveX version used in Internet Explorer.  If you've been installing Flash Player for Firefox, that's not going to help.
Fire up Internet Explorer, go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer and follow the prompts.  This should resolve the issue for you.
If you're already using Internet Explorer on a Windows 8 or higher machine, then Flash Player is already a built-in component of IE.  The problems you're running into may be specific to the intersection of those websites and Internet Explorer 11.  (IE11 makes a bunch of changes to how the browser is identified, which may ultimately cause the sites to fail to detect Flash.)  In that instance, the easiest workaround is probably to just use Google Chrome - http://www.google.com/chrome/ while we wait for the world to adjust to Internet Explorer's new approach.

  • After Flash 11 install: Adobe Connect requires Flash Player 10.1 or above.

Adobe Connect will not run on my XP Pro workstation. Flash (11.1.102.63) has been installed several times, with and without AVG. We get the Flash Successful Installation Screen, try to launch Connect again, and always bounce right into the same message:
Adobe Connect requires Flash Player 10.1 or above.
Its like the system is not recognizing the Flash install. How do we get beyond this? Thanks for your help!

    John
I have tried to invite my sister-in-law to join me in a Connect Now meeting.  Every time she tries to respond to the dialogue box that comes up when she clicks on the hyperlink I send her, she gets a message saying that she has to install Flash Player.  We have tried doing this on a number of occasions, but always end up with the same response.
I've noted from your advice above that Internet Explorer and Google Chrome require different versions of Flash Player.  She tells me she has both browsers on her machine.  From the description she has given me, she appears to have downloaded both versions of Flash Player.
Despite the fact that it appears she has now install both versions of Flash Player, however, she is still getting the same request to install Flash Player when she responds to my hyperlink request.
    Please help.
As my sister-in-law is not technically minded, a simplified set of instructions would be appreciated.
With my thanks and kind regards,
    Nicholas.

  • "This Application requires Adobe Air to be installed"

    Hey guys
I got my self a project which i need to use on the emulator.
But every time i publish my flash project to the emulator, i get an error saying
"This Application requires Adobe Air to be installed" eventho i do have Adobe Air installed & updated
In case it matters i have the Runtime_Emulator_Froyo_20100930 installed and i use Vista SP1.
Hopefully somebody can help me out here
    Thanks in advance

No No, Sorry aha I installed Windows 8, which was fine. I didnt like it much so I tried doing a system restore assuming I could just go back to Windows 7 (What my friend told me). I found out eventually I couldnt obviously, but before I found out I figured the "Reset Your PC" option would be like a system restore and would go back to Windows 7. All my Programmes got deleted, which I was fine about so I just went to go install them again but Photoshop is telling me I cant install it due to not having the system requirements. But the only requirement I believe I dont have is Windows 7, but like I said before... I've seen others with Windows 8 having Photoshop..
A system Image Backup, nope.. I dont. My friend told me that it was just a trial and I would go back to Windows 7 once the trial is up. (I should do my own research in future)
I hope this was clear enough, again it's pretty late and I'm just stressed over loosing everything. Thank you for getting back to me so soon also - Any other tips on how to maybe get it? I dont think I have any traces of Adobe left since all my programmes got deleted, the only other thing I have is Adobe Flash.

    Hi-
    Welcome to Discussions!
the guy says it needs a low level format?
That's not within the realm of the end user.
Low level formatting is done at the factory.
If the drive can't be erased, return it. Something is wrong.
