Adobe PDF 9.0 says it needs updated.
I have the CS4 Master collection. I did an update. I even reinstalled Acrobat. I can not print to the adobe PDF printer...It says this:
You need to install software to use this printer. To install the software, choose Software Update from the Apple menu. If the software for your printer isn’t available in Software Update, contact the manufacturer of your printer.
What should I do next?
Adobe pdf does show in my Printers, It just wont spool to print.
If your Truly are using 9.0 you are serious behind in Updates. We are currently up to 9.3.1
Adobe is not like other Software manufacturers where the latest and greatest updater installs all previous upgrades not installed.
You have to go through all of them. best way is go to acrobat website and download them all then update in order. make sure to repair permissions in between and open then close.
9.0, 9.1, 9.1.1, 9.2, 9.2.1, 9.2.2, 9.2.3, 9.3, 9.3.1 (may have left out some). If your using OSX.5 or 6 you may have issues with the installs.
Also go to your Printer Company's Website and download the latest driver. Now open Printer utility and remove the printer from list. Then install new Driver go back to Printer Utility and add the Printer.
Then try with your document.

You can use Preview to open PDFs. Right-click a PDF file and go to Open with > Preview -

Getting a box that states: can't find
adobe pdf resource files... need help!!!I get a similar error, but only under the following conditions: I must be printing to the Adobe PDF printer and printing multiple pages, one at a time, and then it only happens on the second and subsequent print attempts. That is to say, the first page prints just fine and this just started yesterday afternoon. The specific file referenced in the error does not exist, but why would it work the first time and not the second? Since it only started yesterday, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling this morning, but it made no difference. I don't see anything under print properties like job-options and it is a single user, unshared printer. Thoughts? I understand the same thing is happening in at least one other of our locations, but no one there has looked into it yet. This is a BIG problem for me, however, and I need to find an answer quickly.

When I try to download Adobe Flash Player, it says I need to quit out of Safari even when it's closed. How do I fix this?
Apologies for the slightly pedantic answer, but in application terms, "closed" and "quit" are two different things. An application such as Safari can have several windows open, and each of them can be closed using the red button in the corner.
However, even after all windows are closed, the application is still running until you specifically quit it. You can tell it's still running by the small light under its icon in the Dock. If you hold your cursor down on the icon for a few seconds, you should see a pop up menu with the "Quit" option - click that to quit it. Or, click the icon once (this may launch a new window), then either go to the Safari menu and click Quit, or click cmd-Q, to completely quit the app.

Took delivery of imac yesterday with pre-installed Pages, Numbers and Keynote. App store says they need updating but won't let me because I've never owned the major version of the software. I have paid like anyone else, so why can't I update?

Problem started out of the blue a few days ago. When I go to a page with a PDF file, it says "Plugin is vulnerable... click to start anyway" (paraphrased). When I look in Add-Ons, it has the following line about the Acrobat Reader "adobe acrobat is known to be vulnerable and should be updated 10.1.4.38". That is the latest version available.
I tried updating it, removing it from my computer, reinstalling, etc, several times. No improvement - I still get the same message.Hi garyd11, has Adobe Reader ever run correctly on your PC, in other words, is this a new problem? Actually, regardless of your answer, if Adobe Reader has crashed, I suspect that restarting Windows might help.

Pages won't open doc, says I need update
I just installed the latest update to pages. Now it won't open a doc saying, "You need a newer version of Pages to open this document." I just checked and I don't need any updates!
You are alternating between the two versions of Pages:
Pages 5 and Pages '09.
Pages '09 can not open Pages 5, and Pages 5 alters/damages Pages '09 files.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09 is in your Applications/iWork folder.

Desktop Manager Says Phone Needs Update
I have Desktop Manager 5.0.1 installed on a Windows 7 x64 system. The phone is plugged in and it says it needs a core update run on the phone. I am running 5.0.0.328 on Verizon. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Verizon could be pusing an update, I doubt it, yet.
If you have upgraded the BBMessenger to v5, it likely sees the BBM 4.7 as being the update or something, which has been a glitch for some users. If that is the case, you could simply hit cancel and ignore it.
Otherwise, run the update and see what you get?
