Adobe PDF Form without ACF installation

Hi All
I am currently using Adobe Document Services for one of our projects. Later, I found that to be able to run PDF, we need to have ACF installation.
My Questions are,
1. is that possible to have PDF without having ACF to be installed on every client PC.?
2. I have raise a notes to SAP for this problem and they recommend to turn off the enable property to false and displayType to native. it is resulting to not display at all only blank page. is there any tutorial regarding this setting and any hint?

ExportPDF is not for forms. In general, converting forms to Word is a really, really bad idea which can even cause legal problems. Work with the form as a PDF. Acrobat (not Reader) can export form data as simple text for example.

[Newbie] PDF forms without XFA structure

Hello.
I'm currently working at an ASP.NET application that, via a third-party component, sends automatically values to different interactive PDF. The problem is that, because of XFA structure, the component can not communicate with form fields of documents created by Adobe Designer 7.
In your knowledge is there a way to create PDF forms WITHOUT XFA in Adobe Professional 7 Environment ?

hi,
use pdfmark and distiller to create the forms in PDF Acroform. Then they are like adobe professional 6 created forms. So, you can proceed as usual.
Steps involved.
1. Save the form as XDP in designer. It is a simple XML file.
2. Parse XDP and convert it into .ps file. Use pdfmark syntax to put the form controls.
3. Use distiller utility to convert the .ps file into .pdf file. ( You can programattically do this . There is a sample in Adobe SDK 7 installation.
Hope this helps. We are right now doing this work around. Please let us know if you find a better or more elegant way.

Adobe PDF form / submit sutton does nothing in Safari 5.1.2

We display embedded Acrobat PDF forms containing a submit button in Safari.
If I press "submit" nothing happens, this worked some Safari versions before.
My Adobe Reader is: Adobe Reader X, Version 10.1.1
My Safari version is 5.1.2, I removed and reinstalled it, still does not work.

It is a known issue, and Adobe suggests using a different browser, or downgrade to Safari 5.0.1.
Adobe will soon issue a patch for this to work with Safari 5.1.1.
Well, I have 5.1.2 and this does not seam to be fixed yet.
Downgrading my Safari version to 5.0.1 made the Adobe PDF forms work again with Safari, the submit button does something.
Does anybody have some information about this? Is there another way to solve this issue then to downgrade to version 5.0.1 ?

I've performed tests on all verions of Safari 5.1.x including the latest 5.1.4 and unfortunately the bug still exists.

I used LiveCycle Designer to make a pdf form with many checkboxes. When I deleted a few of the checkboxes the rest left on the form renumbered themselves. This made my JavaScript out of sync since the JavaScript checkbox numbers did NOT update automatically. I am hoping there is a preference option to not auto update. I just cannot find it,

I believe you're using the same name for each checkbox, right?!
If so, each checkbox has an index number which represents its position relative to the other copies in the XML tree and when you add, delete or reorder the copies the index will always be recreated because thats the way how XML works.
There is no way to stop Designer from doing this, I'm afraid.
To address individual objects through JavaScript you should use unique names.

Problems with Adobe PDF forms in Web Dynpro Java

As of now , I have two major issues in developing Adobe PDF forms in Web Dynpro Java .
1.Text getting wrapped and repeated from the first line :
Any text field that flows to the next page gets wrapped at the end of the page and is again printed on the next page beginning from the first line .
For eg:
If I have 4 lines in a text field that is at the end of the page
1111111111111111111111
2222222222222222222222
3333333333333333333333
4444444444444444444444
and the page holds space for only two lines it prints the lines
1111111111111111111111
2222222222222222222222
in the first page and then proceeds to the next page and prints
1111111111111111111111
2222222222222222222222
rather than printing
3333333333333333333333
4444444444444444444444
2.No way to hide a page at runtime:
It is not possible to hide a page in a PDF form at runtime . If scripting is used , the page turns into a blank page but not hidden .

3D PDF files in portfolio prints to Adobe PDF printer without content

3D PDF files in portfolio prints to Adobe PDF printer without content, but if printed from single 3D PDF file everything is fine. I need batch printing (this is the reason I use portfolio) of large amount of 3DPDF files because of the need to have proper preview of these files in browsers. Any ideas or workarounds how to have preview pdf's or jpg's of the single paged 3D PDF files, keeping relevant file names?

I suspected as much. I was hopeful it was something like a setting that needed to be changed or a reg hack that needed a bit changed from 0 to 1 to make the printing work as expected. I only installed the local printer to see if the RDP session
tunnel was in fact causing the print size to balloon so I will continue to instruct users to use that instead of the local redirected printer. I am disappointed but not surprised.

Additionally I have tested the functionality of setting the GPO settings for Easy Print to use the redirected printer's drivers instead of the ones used by easy print, by setting “Computer
Configuration -> Administrative templates -Windows Components -> Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host -> Printer Redirection”.
to “Disabled” but
with no luck. In fact the printer received the proper Adobe PDF driver, but the job went out into print spool hell and was lost to the ether. I have concluded that this approach will not bear any fruit.

How to dynamically assign Display Pattern using FormCalc in Adobe PDF Form

I am using Adobe PDF Form Designer. I am trying to dynamically assign a display pattern like MM/DD/YYYY to the Field tab - Display Pattern property. May I know how to do that?

After placing the date field in layout from data view, u will get tabs like field,layout,border etc..
In field tab under the edit pattern specify the pattern in which you want to display the date field.

Faxing adobe pdf forms using actions in CRM service process

Hi experts,
Does anybody has experience in sending adobe PDF forms as a fax using actions in CRM service processes? Currently I use this by implementing a PPF BAdI, but what else configuration, software and hardware requirements I need to make faxing work in CRM?
Is it possible to use 3rd party software to send the fax for example winfax and transfer the fax number to this?

Our company have been using winfax in the past for sending fax messages. Now that they will use SAP-CRM shall they buy a new fax server? I have looked after Topcall, it might be useful with RFC?
In CRM service order, I use the EXEC_METHODCALL_PPF BAdI implementation to collect the data from the service order, and then use the standard function modules to "print" or "fax" the PDF document (call function FM_NAME).
At this function module, which structure do I neet to enter the recipient's fax number (I read somewhere that I have to use DEVICE='TELEFAX' in the output_options - is it true?) ?
Or should I communicate from the BAdI with Business Communication Services (create recipient and similar methods)?
Is there any way to send the fax from the local machine where the user uses the SAP GUI?

Adobe PDF Form print preview problem

Hi All,
I am new to Adobe PDF form. I have created one small form using the t-code SFP.
I am testing this form directly from the T-code SFP.
When i use the print preview to see the fom output it is givine me below exception.
"Device type unsuitable for ADS documents"
I am using the printer LOCL.
Can you please help me to rectify this problem.
I am not able to undestand why i am getting this error as i am new to ADOBE form.

Are you downloading responses as PDF forms after forms are submitted? If so, FormsCentral doesn't provide an option to exclude empty fields and you won't be able to save PDF forms without empty fields.

I would like to know if there is a way to use programmatically the Adobe PDF printer and the resulting file is .pdf not .ps?
or make a pdf document silently from postscript?
