Adobe PDF plugin: How do I enable scrolling?

When I scroll within a PDF in my Firefox browser, when I get to the bottom of a page it "jumps" to the top of the next page. How do I adjust the scrolling so that I can see the bottom of page "1" and the top of page "2" simultaneously?

Please go to [http://www.mozilla.com/plugincheck/ Firefox's plugin check page] and make sure the PDF plugin is up to date.

  • Adobe PDF Plugin Toolbar Not Available

    Firefox 17.0.1 on Windows 7 32-bit.
I have Acrobat Pro 10.1.4.38, and the Adobe PDF plugin is enabled. However, when I look at the available toolbars the Adobe PDF Toolbar does not appear. Thus I am not able to save web pages as PDFs.
Is there a special switch to enable this toolbar?

I don't think you are responding to my initial question. I don't see how your responses have addressed the issue, namely that I want to see the Adobe Toolbar available on the Firefox main page.

  • Adobe PDF plugin 10.1.5.33 does not print correctly. Some text comes out all garbled but looks fine on screen.

I am using Adobe PDF plugin 10.1.5.33. I can open PDF files and they look fine. When I print some of the test comes out all garbled - usually labels, notes at bottom etc. If I disable plugin then when I open PDF Firefox uses Adobe PDF reader to open file and then printing is fine. I have Adobe reader 10.1.5

I am seeing the same issue with Reader 11.0.1.36. Without the Adobe plugin enabled, no issue. Probably related to the type of font being used for the garbled text. There are many font bugs related to various fonts and various Adobe programs filed at Bugzilla. Looks like Adobe has some fixing to do with their Firefox / Netscape plugin.

  • Issue converting multiple emails using Adobe PDF Plugin

We have users that use the Adobe PDF plugin within Outlook to convert multiple emails into one PDF file.  They will select multiple emails, then click on the Adobe PDF tab within Outlook and choose Selected Messages, Create New PDF.  When the pdf is created, only the first email that was selected got converted into the pdf file.  It does not convert all of the selected emails.  I have tried it on my computer and it is not working for me either.  We are using, Windows 8.1, Office 2013, Adobe Acrobat Standard XI.  The users say they were able to get this to work before we upgraded.  Previously, they had Windows 7, Office 2010, Adobe Acrobat X.  Is this a bug?

  • Can the Adobe PDF plugin carry exact phrase search criteria through from source system into Reader?

In SharePoint 2013 if you search for an exact phrase and then view a PDF that is returned by the search (in Reader via the PDF plugin) then the Reader will treat the complete phrase as individual words.
For example, search for "High Court" in SharePoint, get returned a set of PDF documents, and when you view one of them through the Reader the hit highlighting will be for each instance of "High" or "Court".
What is wanted is hit highlighting only of instances of "High Court".
I get the same behavior if the Adobe PDF plugin is installed with the Filesite DMS. So it seems to be standard behavior for the Adobe PDF plugin
Is there a way to make the Adobe PDF plugin carry exact phrase search criteria through from source system into Reader? And then hit highlight the exact phrase only.

    Hi Sam,
You can opt for 'Advance Search' option in Reader to match the whole words to get to the specific documents.

  • Adobe PDF Plugin not working FireFox and SeaMonkey

Just updated to Acrobat XI. I find that the plugin to view PDF's doesn't work. just receive a Blank Screen when I try to view a Plugin.
I also notice in addons  when you go to plugins it shows two acrobat Pdf Plugins:
    Adobe Acrobat NPAI Plugin
    Adobe AAMDetect Adobe AAMDetect 1.0.0.0
and the one called 1.0  I have no idea what that is.
I see no sign of the Adobe PDF Plugin (which is in the Internet Plugins Folder)
I can use a Plugin from Schubert from Germany but it doesn't work with buttons to swich to a web page.
I can use Acrobat Reader. However in order to work it has to download the page from a website first. Who wants to do that.
    Can't you get this fixed???

Adobe Acrobat NPAPI Plugin is not supported in Firefox or SeaMonkey. Try disabling this plug-in from Firefox/SeaMonkey > Tools > Add-ons, then quit and restart your brwosers.
This should let you save/downlaod the PDFs locally.

  • I enabled Arabic in Language options and it already works in Adobe InDesign. How do I enable Arabic language compatibility in Illustrator and Photoshop?

I enabled Arabic in Language options and it already works in Adobe InDesign. How do I enable Arabic language compatibility in Illustrator and Photoshop?

I just don't want the window to be so huge. I would like to limit the size of the window to the size of my image, exactly as in Photoshop.
You are working on a canvas/ artboard, not within an "image". Since you can place objects arbitrarily in relation to that artboard, even by large numbers outside of it, having it display in a cropped manner doesn't exactly make sense, if nothing else, at least for being able to select content. I don't really see your problem and from my fading memory of CorelDraw and Freehand I don't remeber them doing it differently, either, nor is InDesign. You just have to get used to it. For programs that are/ were hardcopy-centric in the first place, it also makes no sense to have a background color other than white. Arguably they could allow users to change it and maybe there is already some way to do it that I'm not aware of, but it's logical to me...

  • Can't create new pdfs from powerpoint; either form within Adobe or within powerpoint.  I could do this yesterday and today it won't work for some reason.  The error says "an unexpected error occurred.  PDFMaker was unable to produce the Adobe PDF.  How do

Can't create new pdfs from powerpoint; either form within Adobe or within powerpoint.  I could do this yesterday and today it won't work for some reason.  The error says "an unexpected error occurred.  PDFMaker was unable to produce the Adobe PDF.  How do I fix this?

Is there a log file in the document folder indicating what the problem was. There are a number of reasons that PDF creation may fail. You can try to print to the Adobe PDF printer to see if there is any indication in that process. The processing is different, but the same problems may show up with both processes.

  • Adobe PDF plugin a no show - PDFs handled by Safari?

Even though the AdobePDFViewer.plugin is in the Internet Plug-ins folder and is up to date, PDFs in Safari seem to be handled differently. You get them open with a floating dingus with 2 zooms, a save to download button, and a view in Preview button. I have my PDFs set to open in Adobe Reader and when I press that button they open in Adobe Reader and not Preview. And the floating dingus the second time sometimes appears, sometimes not. Sometimes it only appears if you click and move the mouse over the bottom of the window. Sometimes clicking the window and moving around anywhere works. Very odd.

I don't know how my experience will compare to yours, as our environments are quite a bit different.
Using a G4 PPC running OS 10.4.11, I found Safari will load PDFs in a browser window much faster without the Adobe Plug-in.
For example, if I use Safari to open:
    http://www.flu.gov/professional/business/smallbiz.pdf
with the Adobe PDF browser plug-in, it takes about 70 seconds on my machine. (If downloaded, this is a 3.7MB file.)
But after removing the AdobePDFViewer.plugin from my Library>Internet Plug-Ins folder, the same page loads in Safari in about 22 seconds - much better, but still far from great.
With a so-so DSL connection, I generally find it to be faster to download the PDF file and open it with either Adobe Reader or Preview, rather than trying to view it within a Safari window.
If anyone knows of a faster way to open PDFs within Safari, I would love to hear about it.
(BTW, I've already tried the "PDF Browser Plugin" from Schubert|it and it's no faster than Safari's native handling of PDFs - plus my scroll wheel won't work - and, if you're running 10.6 it won't work right, either.)

  • Is there a way to control Adobe PDF plugin from within a Web Application? For Example, Can we highlight text in the PDF/A document programatically?

    Hi,
I am trying to open a PDF document in browser using Adobe PDF plug-in for IE 9. The plugin version is 10.x
I need to highlight certain text in the PDF document ( which is searchable) programmatically. For example, when a user selects certain text on the web-page, we want to automatically highlight that in the PDF document.

I don't think this is a question one can answer by simply downloading the SDK. And even if one reads all the documentation (it rarely happens for obvious reasons), it is not easy to reach an answer because its explanation is not trivial at all.
In my own opinion, this is right the type of question to be put and (hopefully) answered in a Forum.
Now, I am not sure about the correct answer but I will give one hint.
If I am not wrong, the Internet Explorer, IE, PDF viewer by Adobe is actually a .dll file which is put under IE once Adobe Reader is installed. A custom plug-in for Reader or Acrobat is also a .dll file (Windows) but its extension is .api and it needs to be copied under Reader or Acrobat (or both). Therefore, I don't see how we can merge the IE viewer .dll with a custom plug-in .api. Though maybe technically possible, I don't think it is something we can do.
If above reasoning is correct, the answer to the question is No.

  • Having to disable Adobe PDF Reader add-ons then enabling it.

After updating through 11.0.02 -> 11.0.03 -> 11.0.07 (Not currently on 11.0.10), and before I go any further, we also are using IE11 w/Enterprise Mode and the latest version of Chrome. Also, users have Acrobat Pro XI 11.0.09. PDF's are set to open in Adobe Reader. Well, after updating Adobe Reader with the versions mentioned above, a user will open IE or Chrome and click on a link that should open a .PDF in another window or give the option to download it. When this happens, sometimes all the content can't be interacted with or it just doesn't open. The ONLY way I know of to fix this is to go in to IE, manage add-ons or Chrome://plugins, disable the Adobe PDF Reader add-on, close the browser, open the browser and enable the Adobe PDF Reader add-on, restart the browser again. At that time, will the PDF's open properly.
Is there something that can be done to prevent this from happening? One of the reasons I don't like to push out Adobe Reader updates in our district during the school year is because of this reason.
    Thanks

I have removed the "Assumed Answered" status.
But unfortunately I don't know what the cause of your problem could be.

  • Can I use Adobe PDF plugin in Chrome on a Mac?

    I'm on a Mac.
I would like to use the Adobe Reader PDF viewer in Chrome instead of the built-in Chrome PDF viewer.
I went to Chrome:Plugins to disable the Chrome PDF viewer, but noticed that the Adobe Reader PDF plugin is not there.
I then went to Library/Internet Plug-ins and I do see the AdobePDFViewer.plugin file.
Is the Adobe PDF Viewer compatible with Chrome on Mac?

Please tell me whether you were successfully able to install Acrobat after downgrading to Windows 7?
What Acrobat version are you using? Have you tried repairing the software from the Help menu.
You might try manually adding 'Adobe PDF' printer by going to Start > Devices and Printers

  • Adobe PDF Plugin for Firefox 4

    Mac OS X 10.6.7 with Firefox 4.0 / Acrobat X Pro 10.0.3
After installing Firefox 4 I was told that the PDF plug-in was no longer compatible and that Firefox was unable to find an update for the plug-in. I cannot believe this to be true but was unable to locate a new version. When finding a PDF-document in Firefox I would like to open it in the browser without the need to downlad the document. Under Windows the Adobe PDF Plug-In "Adobe Acrobat 10.0.1.434" is compatible and PDF-documents are opened showing (application/pdf-Objekt) in the tab, just as it looked with Firefox 3.6 on the Mac.

Hi, What operating system are you using? Are you Uninstalling the current Flash Player version first?
