Adobe Pdf Printer stopped working after update to Acrobat DC

Hello, I have installed Acrobat DC yesterday. Since then, Adobe Pdf Printer stopped working. It always gets stuck at Checking Fonts and any software the print originated from just hangs and I have to force it closed.
I tried uninstalling the printer and installing it manually, repairing Acrobat installation but nothing changed.
So, can somebody help me? Thanks.

A method which is written here not working - because if you start to remove the fonts one by other you will see that the list does not end there.
I did so
1. i copied the folder with the fonts from the other clean system and replace with fonts in my system
2. then i restore the registry tree HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts
3. i check system with sfc /scannow
after these procedures Distiller DC continue to crash...
In this time distiller crashed when it cheking their fonts in C:\Program Files(x86)\Adobe\Acrobat DC\Resources\Font
after i rename the folder from Font to Font_ in order to he did not check this folder
at next run Distiller crashed at the font wingding.ttf after remowing that font he crash at Vrinda.ttf (this is a oficial font of Win7 and come with him) after removing that font distiller crash at the next font name of Vani.ttf (this is a Win7 font too) - when i saw it goes on forever i back my system to normal status and uninstal Acrobat DC and back to Acrobat XI...this version work with out any problems.
We are waiting a hotfix to resolving this problem with Acrobat DC

  • Adobe PDF printer stopped working

    Hello!
    Windows XP Pro
    Acrobat Standard 8.1.3
    Office XP
    InDesign CS3
Problem with Adobe PDF printer. It used to work fine, but it stopped working last week, whatever application I use to print. The "PDF Creation" window appears, the process seems to start, but suddenly stops in the middle, with with the word "stopped" in the progress box. I tried the repair feature of Acrobat, with no change, then completely uninstalled Acrobat (and deleted the Acrobat 8 folder), but again no luck...
Any hint as to what I can do to fix this?
    Thanks in advance
    François

I just did the following, in sequence:
I printed-to-file a document to Adobe PDF printer from Word, and opened the resulting .prn file. The conversion worked. In Distiller, I get this:
    Source : extendedloan.prn
    Destination : I:\Texte\extendedloan.pdf
    Options Adobe PDF : H:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings\Standard.joboptions
    %%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
    %%[Page: 1]%%
    %%[Page: 2]%%
    %%[Page: 3]%%
    %%[Page: 4]%%
    %%[LastPage]%%
    Durée de conversion : 00 heure(s) : 00 minute(s) : 04.750 seconde(s)
    **** Fin du travail ****
I then tried to print the document (.doc) from Word to Adobe PDF Printer, and got this in Distiller:
    Adobe PostScript :3016.102
    CID support library initialization completed.
    Error in PDFX4 2007.joboptions:
    /CheckCompliance out of range
I then tried to print a test file from Printer Properties, and got this from Distiller:
    Adobe PostScript :3016.102
    CID support library initialization completed.
    Error in PDFX4 2007.joboptions:
    /CheckCompliance out of range
Thank you guys for trying to help,

  • HELP! adope pdf maker stopped working after update!

i'm not very computer savy. i use adobe primarily to convert several word documents into a larger pdf file (legal document).  i use word 2007, run windows 7.  have adobe acrobat pro 9 (friend gave to me).  it has worked fine for the past year but after a recent update (within the past week) i have been unable to convert any word/excell docs into pdfs.  it gives a generic error messages that says "an unexpected error occurred. PDFMaker was unable to produce adobe pdf.  i have tried repairing adobe install (under help menu in adobe).  i have also tried to reinstall the software but nothing seems to fix this issue.  i did not appear to be limited to word. i was unable to convert excell docs.  i am able to "publish" a word doc into a pdf.  once the document is a pdf i am able to do merge files.  however if i published it, i have to arrange the pages one by one (some files are over 100 pages).  any suggestions?

Even though this was not posted 2 weeks ago, and it remains unanswered - I'm experiencing similar problems so thought I'd add to this one.
    XP Pro SP 3
    Acrobat 6.0.6
    Reader 9.5.0
    Elements 10.0
    Photoshop CS 8.0
    MS Office 2003 SP 3
Acrobat 6 worked fine, converting all manner of files to PDFs, and it even got embedded links to websites correct.
Yesterday, it failed.  From Make PDF, after opening a Word File, focus goes back to Acrobat and the active window remains gray.  The file is not created.  Acrobat hangs or quits.
I had updated Elements from 7.0 to 10.0 a few days earlier.  Thinking the installation must not have gone well, I un-installed Elements and Acrobat, reinstalling Elements first, then Acrobat, restarting the computer at every reasonable opportunity.
It is still broken.  How is it that a tried and true application from such a respected developer suddenly fails?
Anyone know what the problem is and how to cure it?
NOTE: Adobe support refuses to even speculate.  The reason:  they no longer support Acrobat 6.

  • Many Adobe CC programs stopped working after updating Windows 8 to Windows 8.1

I've just updated my Dell XPS1 27 from windows 8 to 8.1, every thing looked ok until I tried to run Bridge CC and a I get the "... stopped working" error. Checking some  other programs like Indesign and Illustrator I'm finding that they open but stop responding after a short time. I'm going to try uninstalling and reinstalling to see if that solves the problem. A cautionary note to anyone contemplating the update. Anyone else experienced this?

Moral to the story is don't use preview software on a production machine.
I would prefer to use the cleaner tool after uninstalling trial versions, gives you the options to check new releases before buying
But then again, when you depend on a production machine it is indeed wise to act carefully...

  • HT201371 Touch ID stopped working after updating to IOS 7.1.

    Good morning to all,
My touch ID stopped working after updating to IOS 7.1.
It was working perfectly until the update and then it stopped recognizing my prints
I've reset the phone and deleted my fingerprints and now I can't even add a fingerprint again.
I am sure this is not a hardware problem since the phone was working perfectly before the update and it didn't fall nor anything similar.
Also the sensor is clean as well as my fingers.

Same problem... I think we all should let Apple know of this issue. http://www.apple.com/feedback/ tell them the probelm. So when they get too many complains they will surely fix it ASAP with a software update.

  • Wifi iPad 3 charger stopped working after updating to iOS 6, help!

Wifi iPad 3 charger stopped working after updating to iOS 6.  The little iPhone charger charges it very very slowly, but the charger gets really hot after a while.  I restored it and everything works but the charger.  It's only a few months old, should I try a new iPad wall charger block?

  • Earpiece stopped working after updating to 5.0.1.

It worked fine the night before.  Then it stopped working after updating to 5.0.1.  I can only hear calls on speaker.  Did anyone else have this problem.  I have tried all the fixes, restart, reboot, restore.  No debris in the headphone jack, and when volume is turned up or down it doesn't show headphones on the screen.  Nothing covering the earpiece.  Tried to blow out headphone jack with compressed air.  I'm thinking it is a glitch in the software.  Using Iphone 4 on Verizon.  Any thoughts or ideas?

  • Adobe PDF Printer not working in Illustrator since 9.3.2 update.

    Greetings all,
Since updating Acrobat Pro to 9.3.2 I've not been able to print to PDF from Illustrator using the Adobe PDF Printer (Adobe PDF 9.0 in my printer list).
I've tried several restarts and have also removed the printer and run the Repair Acrobat Installation from the Help menu of Acrobat to reinstall the printer, but problem remains.
I've also tried printing from other programs (namely Thunderbird, Firefox and Photoshop) and the printer has worked fine so I suspect this my be isolated to Illustrator.
No error messages are given and the Illustrator print jobs are listed as Completed in the printer job list but no files are created.
I've got a work-around, printing to Postscript file then converting to PDF in Distiller and it seems to be working fine, but not my ideal solution.
I've checked for updates in Illustrator but none are available.
    System details:
    OS X 10.5.8 (MacBook Pro 15", around 2.5yrs old)
Adobe Creative Suite CS 3, Acrobat Pro 9.3.2, Illustrator 13.0.2
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks,
    Dave

I've never liked the Save As PDF option in Illustrator. Though the quality is excellent, in my experience it creates bloated PDFs that are often too big to email.
Take for example the file that prompted my original post. If I print to PDF (or in this case use my workaround, creating a PS file, then converting to PDF in Distiller) using my Hi Rez preset, the final PDF is 648K. If I Save As PDF using the same preset, the final file is 5.5Mb! A ridiculous size for a CMYK flyer measuring just 134x70mm.
The reason for the size increase is obvious when the big pdf is opened in Illustrator: all the bits and pieces outside the artboard and on hidden layers are all preserved. In reality, it's just the same as the original Illustrator file seeing as Illustrator's native AI format is pretty much a pdf in all but name only.
Do you know of a way to use the Save As PDF command that eliminates the unwanted material and gets the file size down? That would really make my day!
What I wish for is an Export To PDF command as found in InDesign. That seems to give the best of both worlds.

  • "view adobe pdf results" stopped working

Even though the box for adobe pdf printing preferences is checked.
i always like to see when a new pdf is creared, but now it goes straight to the folder instead.
using acrobat 9 pro extended, version 9.5, which i just updated again.
    any help much appreciated

Wish I could tell you more. The setting is to show the pdf file once printed, and the box checked is entitled, "View adobe pdf results." I believe that is the default. After a recent automatic upgrade, it stopped doing so, and after a lot of playing around, including repairing and reinstalling the program, and turning the feature off then on again, nothing has worked. I can live with it, but it's just that I now have to go into the folder each time to make sure it printed correctly.
I just tried it with this message and it worked after a bunch of strange errot messages.
Overall, I have experienced intermittent "printer not responding" messages that force me to shut my browser, mostly firefox, and I think there is a bug in firefox that affects the interface with acrobat. I sometimes just copy and paste to word as a go around.
    Thanks.

  • Adobe PDF Printer not working as print driver; 9.5.5 (pro) with Windows 7, 64 bit

I have installed, repaired, uninstalled and re-installed Acrobat Pro 9.5.5 on a newly formatted SSD with Windows 7, 64 bit on my desktop machine. The program was installed from Acrobat Pro 9.0.0 and updated within the program. I have the program also installed on my laptop, and the Adobe PDF Printer driver is working properly on my laptop.
On my desktop with the newly formatted SSD, the Adobe PDF printer driver is not working. Note that I am using the printer driver, and not any pdf creation techniques within MS Office or other programs.
When I go to the Adobe PDF printing preferences on my desktop, I only get a generic, two tab window open. When I print a file to this printer on my desktop machine, I do not get a window opening that asks where to create the pdf or what to name it, and I never see any files created. In MS Word, the Create PDF option under the Acrobat tab works and opens a dialog to ask the name and location to save, and then opens a PDF Maker progress window and properly creates the file. I can also save a file as an .eps or .ps file and use Distiller to create the pdf. However I cannot get the Adobe PDF printer driver in my Devices and Printers to work properly, although it works just fine on my laptop with the same program (Pro 9.5.5) and same Windows version (7, 64 bit).
Repairing, uninstalling and re-installing does not solve the problem. Acrotray.exe *32 process is running. Any ideas on why this won't run properly on my desktop, but will run on a similarly configured laptop?
On my laptop, I get a full, (7) tabl menu with all the normal options:

I found this answer from Deepak Chauhan on another forum, and it solved this problem!
Try this to add Adobe PDF printer manually on Windows 7, and Windows Vista.
If windows 7 is Enterprise or better edition: (Admin rights required)
Start>search for printmanagement.msc and open the print management module
Expand the print server and expand the computer name to see availbale printers, drivers and printer ports.
    - from printers ensure there's no Adobe PDF printer, if there is delete it
    - go to ports and delete the PDF ports (the ones ending in *.pdf)
    - go to drivers and delete the PDF converter.
Take note if any errors occur, but continue with the following steps regardless.
If on windows 7 home edition, just goto start>Devices and Printers and ensure PDF pritner is not listed.
Then open the registry (if any erors deleting these keys happen, see below)
    1: go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Print\Printers
delete any adobe PDF printer subkey present
    2: go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors
delee the PDF port monitor if present
    3: go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers
again delete and pdf printer subkey
If any erros occur, you need to set the owner of the key to the currently logged in admin user, then ensure that user has full control.
Do this by right-click the key and selecting permissions, clicking on advanced, then the owner tab.
Once you've all that has been done, open a command line as administrator.
Copy and pate the following commands in order
    1: net stop spooler
    2: rundll32.exe setupapi.dll,InstallHinfSection AdobePDFPortMonitor 128 C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Xtras\AdobePDF\AdobePDF.inf
    3: net start spooler
    4:rundll32.exe printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /if /b "Adobe PDF" /f "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Xtras\AdobePDF\AdobePDF.inf" /r "Documents\*.pdf" /m "Adobe PDF Converter"
That should set back the pdf printer.
This seemed to provide the link that provided the Adobe PDF Settings tab to the Adobe PDF Printing Preferences that was missing!

  • Cannot print to Adobe PDF printer from Word after upgrading to Win 7 64bit

Hi. After upgrading my operating system from Windows XP to Windows 7 64 bit, I can no longer print to the Adobe PDF printer (e.g. from Word). It just sits in the Adobe PDF printer queue saying "Error" without bringing up the "Save As" dialog box, and nothing happens. I am running Adobe Acrobat 8.0.0 (I've checked for updates but it says none are available). I have tried doing a repair installation following the instructions on this website (http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-file-adobepdf-dll-needed.html) but to no avail.
Thank you in advance for your help.

I think it's time to upgrade. 64-bit systems weren't much in use at the time of Acrobat 8.0.

I hate it when updates break things instead of fixing them. Can't Mozilla leave well enough alone? At the very least, each new release should be tested so it works with ALL PREVIOUS extensions!
Wait till you "update" to firefox 4 and EVERYthing breaks, including the buttons that come with it. There is no arrow next to the dropdown button, right clicking the tab bar doesn't bring up the correct menu, but one as though it were the menu bar (which is missing) and the information bar is missing. True, it's fast, but you'll spend weeks getting it to work properly.

  • Epson printer stopped working after yosemite

All of a sudden, after Apple autoupdate installed yosemite update and new epson drivers, my printer will only print first line of a document.
I've tried deleting and reinstalling printer, repairing and verifying drive, deleting printer library files, unplugging, rebooting... nothing is working. Does anyone have a solution for me? Help!

My Epson WF-4360 "lost it's mind" after being accidentally unplugged for most of a day.
The printer DID work from Yosemite both before and after the "loss of power"
The printer DID work from iOS before the loss of power ... but stopped working after that
ALL the printer status reported to be fine -- showed the wi-fi network address and connection ... but was NOT discoverable from iOS
    This fix resolved the issue:
Find the wi-fi IP address of the printer -- either from the printer or the network (mine was a local IP ... 10.0.1.n)
Go to Safari on the iOS device -- enter the IP address of the printer
Scroll down to the BASIC SETTINGS on the left side menu
Scroll down to the AirPrint Setup button ... click to start
Click OK -- to advance through the menus ... two separate browser pages for me
You will see AirPrint "Setup Complete"
From iOS ... the printer is now discoverable.

  • Why do some apps stop working after update to iOS 6?

I notice one of my apps stopped working after the iOS 6 update, in particular Uno HD, which I paid $5 for.  Why did this happen?

I had solved the problem by installing the free app, which seemed to reset something, then I deleted the free app, and the paid version continued to work until the next day.  I was going to show one of my friends the game, and then it once again would not open- the same problem was back, as soon as I went to open it, it crashed back to the desktop without opening the game.  I had to re-install the free version again, and for a while, neither version would work, but then after a while, it started working again.  I guess I have to leave the free app installed or I won't be able to use the paid version of Uno.
    EDIT
Just checked again, took the Uno app out of resident memory by double-pushing the home button and holding the app icon til it starts to shake, and then hit the minus symbol, which deletes it out of resident memory.
Went to open it again, and it of course crashed back to the desktop again.  So there is some issue with it that is making it unstable.
I have to keep pushing on either one of  the app icons continuously until one of them starts, and then the other one will start.
Gameloft needs to do an update.

  • The inspector stopped working after update

The inspector stopped working after an update. When I click on the inspector button it says "An unexpected error has occured. Please quit and reopen Keynote." Quitting and reopening Keynote does not fix the problem. Inspector does not work in Pages either (it doesn't do anything when I click on it), but it does work in Numbers. I also am having problems opening files created in Numbers before the update.

    Hi jeau300!
Here is an article that can give you some tips about using your computer with your external monitor in closed clamshell mode:

For best results it is recommend that you put your computer to sleep before disconnecting your display.
Note: Some DVI and Mini DisplayPort displays—including Apple's aluminum-framed DVI displays and the 24-inch and 27-inch LED Cinema Displays—can be unplugged without putting the computer to sleep. If you aren't sure whether your display supports this feature, put your computer to sleep before unplugging the display.
