Adobe PDF Professional 7.0

I had to re-install my adobe professional 7.0 pdf program on my new HP laptop with windows 7 operating system; 64 bit.
I can not get the printer funtion to work. During the installation it kept on telling me there was no port & printer port. That I need a Adobe pdf port & printer.
Can someone help me please.
Thank you, Joe

I don't think that AA7 driver will work in a x64 system. Even AA8 has issues and I have only heard of one person that claims success. However, if you cannot afford an upgrade to AAXI at this point, here is a possible solution:
Install a PS driver and call it Adobe PDF for now. Set the port to FILE. This name and file issue is important if you want a chance of using PDF Maker on the system. It might be possible to set a watched folder in Distiller, but I have not tried it. Otherwise, simply open the file in Distiller to get the PDF. I have no clue if this will work with AA7 on a x64 system. On a x32 system, I have done this with AA5. The real issue is the 64-bit system.
You may have no choice but to upgrade to retain the Acrobat functionality. Actually, AA7 may not qualify for an upgrade (you can check that on the Adobe Store).

Because your software is far too old for Windows 7.

  • Problem in creating PDF of Website using Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.

I am trying to create PDF file of full website using "Create PDF from Web Page..." option, in Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.
It is creating PDF but the page alignments/text/images alignments are lost and doesn't look good.
Can any one help to create the PDF same as webpage look and feel.
    Thanks.

Acrobat 8's HTML->PDF engine is quite old and doesn't work well with modern web pages. I'd recommend trying the same page using Acrobat X (trial available) where the engine has been replaced and modernized.

  • Please Help!! Links to other PDF documents in my PDF document open in Adobe Acrobat Professional but NOT Adobe Reader XI

    Hi everyone,
I really hope someone can help me with this problem. I work for a software company and we have a release coming up. Every release requires me to create a 'menu' which is what users see when they insert the release CD. I create this menu in Adobe Acrobat Professional, and add links to all the PDF manuals we have for our products. When I open the Menu in Acrobat Professional, all links open fine. When just attempting to open the links using the default Adobe Reader (which i'm guessing most of our customers will use), nothing happens, not even an error is generated. I'm ensuring I link to the documents that reside in the same folder on my directory as the menu. Is this something to do with relative/absolute links? Something to do with Reader XI, as I don't remember having this problem for our last release? Foxit also seems to work in opening the links.
    Thanks

I’m using version 11.0.10. So where the Menu resides in a folder ready to be burnt on to a CD, that same folder is where the links point to.
    Thanks

  • Adobe PDF Port_Printer didn't install with re-installation of Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional.

A new Windows 7 OS was installed on my computer and I've had to re-load Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional.  Everything loaded except for Adobe PDF Printer.  Error message: Warning 20225. Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Setup was unable to create a new item: Adobe PDF Port-Printer. The Adobe PDF Printer may be unavailable.      I'm using the original CD to set up Adobe.  Any idea on why I'm getting this message?

The first version of Acrobat to support Windows 7 is version 9.2 - so this is why you are encountering issues. To troubleshooting the problem, you might find this article helpful Error "Warning 20225" or no PDF Printer appears.

    Hi,
I had a similar problem and found help for it. Go to the "Advanced" menu and select Extend features in Adobe Reader. That will enable rights which may resolve your problem. If that doesn't work, there is a really helpful guy in here, Robert Levine. You may want to ask him directly.

  • HELP!   PDF READER/ADOBE 8 professional

    Hello Everyone,
I just bought a new computer, and everything's supposed to be
great. Unfortunately that is not the case.
Every time I try to open or look up a pdf file, it opens for
just a second, then a window pops up asking me to enter the serial
number to adobe 8 professional, buy-it, or quit. Every time! I
thought this computer had Adobe on it...I guess not. I went to the
adobe site and download "reader 8" and "reader 9." Still nothing.
Everytime I try to open up a file sent to me in pdf, it just opens
for a second, then that "enter buy, or quit "screeen comes up. I
don't want to buy anything. I just would like to reader the pdf
files sent to me. Are there any geniuses about there that has any
advice? I can't figure this out :( Best Regards and Thank you in
Advance, Henry Jr. email: [email protected]

I wouldn't descibe myself as a genius, but I can tell you
that you are posting in the wrong forum. The Acrobat forum is here
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3bbeda8b/
BTW It sounds like you have a trial version of Acrobat
installed that is causing the problem. Remove it via the Add/Remove
    control panel.

In installation process of Acrobat Professional 7 , its showing that Adobe Pdf printer is not Installed...need help to install the software completely

If it is Win 7 or later, the Adobe PDF printer for AA 7 will not install and AcroTray will not function. You will have to install a PS driver from Adobe or maybe an HP color PS printer driver. Then edit the driver properties and change the name to Adobe PDF and the port to FILE. You will always have to do an extra step in creating PDFs by opening the file that is created in Distiller to get the PDF.
If you are talking about Win 8, you may not be successful at all. If you got Acrobat and Distiller to install, then there is a chance.

  • Acrobat 8 Professional - Autocad - Adobe PDF options

I have Windows XP Pro 2002 SP2, Autocad 2008 and Acrobat 8 Professional Trial version.
when I am in Autocad and do a print to adobe pdf, I am always prompted for the filename and folder where the pdf file will be saved. the filename which is proposed always has the original dwg filename and also the layout name. the proposed folder is always the same as that of the previous pdf saved.
I have 2 questions about this:
1 - is there an option somewhere in acrobat 8 pro so as to permanently propose only to save with the dwg filename?
2 - is there an option somewhere in acrobat 8 pro so that the saving folder is the same as that of the dwg file?
    Thanks,

Spectraflash...I'm trying to load the pdfmaker (adobe pro-8) tool bar in AutoCAD lt-08 I've tried to load them by adding pdfmaker.arx into my cui menus, is this what you're referring to as "start up suite"? I've tried every twist or turn I can think of to get them to load and be displayed but to no satisfaction. I would like to be able to plot to adobe with layers and several layout pages at once, very time consuming if I have to do each layout one at at time. Maybe (and I sure I am) missing something small, but if I have to call my IT department one more time to try and resolve this...well I would rather poke myself in the eye with a rusty screwdriver! They can't grasp the idea of "layers" and I'm to tired to go through it one more time. Anyway you can restate your comments above?

  • Adobe professional 8 - adobe pdf printer problem

Running windows 7 64 bit enterprise edition and have installed adobe professional 8. When I fx. want to print a file to the "adobe pdf" printer the job newer is finished. It is just stay in the printer que, and nothing happends.
Have tried to remove the Adobe XI reader, that was installed, if it could be any conflict but did not help. I also tried with a repair of whole adobe prof. package, but still the same problem.
If I look on the adobe pdf printer and look on which port it is printing to it is standing as LPT1 ? - is that correct. There is not any other adobe pdf port available if I would like to create one.

The updates are critical when using an old version. Even older versions can be made to work in 32-bit systems, but have to have workarounds. However, folks have reported success for AA8 with both 32 and 64-bit systems, but the updates were critical.

  • Print to Adobe PDF printer from IE 7 crashes computer

I apologize if this has already been answered somewhere in this forum, but I could not find mention of it....I have several users inside my company and out that are having issue with printing to the Adobe PDF printer from a webpage viewed in IE 7...the computer inevitably locks up and requires a restart. It seems to vary based on the version of Acrobat or Reader they have installed, but am wondering if anyone knows of the cause and resolution? It would seem to be a battle of Microsoft Operating System versus Adobe. Most users are on Windows XP Professional, using Adobe Acrobat and Reader 8 or better. Those with 6 do not appear to have issue.
Have been circling around this problem for a month now....any help much appreciated!

I think it's time to upgrade. 64-bit systems weren't much in use at the time of Acrobat 8.0.

  • Firefox 4 beta 12 can't print a page to adobe pdf printer unlike ealier versions

instead of bookmarking a page, I'd print to adobe pdf printer so I can always access offline but now it is no longer possible with firefox 4 beta 12. at first I thought adobe acrobat professional was corrupted so I repaired it - but I still had the same problem. I have installed acrobat professional 8 but nothing has really changed.
    Mark.

This nasty bug is a known problem caused by the beta 12 update. You could wait til' the RC comes out, or you could grab one of the latest nightly builds availible here that fix this problem: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-central/
Just a note though, nightly versions of firefox are generally less stable than betas or releases. I am waiting for the Release Candidate to come out myself. (Should be early next week)

  • Error message in Adobe Pdf in printer device panel when trying to create a pdf document.  I have CS3

Error message in Adobe Pdf in printer device panel when trying to create a pdf document.  I have CS3 Web Premium with Acrobat Professional 8.  I use it fine on my old computer with Windows XP.  I recently got a new laptop with Windows 7.  I installed all my Adobe programs, and I think they are working.  When I look at Adobe PDF in the device section of the Control Panel it looks okay.  But when I try to print a Word, Photoshop, or HTML page in PDF, nothing happens.  I have tried printing both as File>print and using the PDF tab on the top menu bar.  I look at the device in the control panel and it has the yellow error warning symbol and suggests trying to troubleshoot.  I look at the document list and it says status "error".  When I try troubleshooting Windows suggests doing some Home Sharing and also suggests canceling the document I'm trying to print.  I tried re-installing just Acrobat 8 from CS3 (and have to use Photoshop CS4 disk for shared documents I guess).  I ran into a can't locate adobepdf_dll file, so did a web search on this issue and found a suggestion that I find and use the adobepdf_dll_64 file and may have to (I did have to) remove the "_64" for it to work.  I think I successfully reinstalled using that dll file- no errors came up anyway.  But still when I try printing/converting a photoshop, webpage, or word document into pdf, the pdf device in control panel still gives the error status on the document and gives the same troubleshooting advice.  Help?

I just compared the properties between the two computers.  On the old computer it has the port as "My Documents/*.pdf".  On my new computer it lists the port as "LPT1".  I tried changing the port to "Print as File", but when I try printing a photoshop picture as pdf, I get a "Access Denied".  I then tried to create a new port on the device control panel.  I tried to create a local port "My Documents/*.pdf" port but was denied.  I ten tried to create a new port type and control panel asked for an INF file.  I wonder if this is where my problem lies.  Thoughts?

  • Is it possible to remove Adobe PDF 8.0 from the list in "Add Printers"

When I add a printer on my system, there is a printer named "Adobe PDF 8.0" on the Add Printer list. I believe that this is a remnant left over from previous versions of the operating system (from Leopard or so). Can this item be deleted from this list? It isn't functional at all, and I'd rather not have it cluttering up the list. I've searched through the system looking for anything that could be causing this item to be listed there, but there appears to be no .PPD file or any entry in a .plist file that I can find. I've seen other people asking about this printer, but more from the perspective of "how to get it working" or "how do I print to PDFs now?". That isn't my question. I just want to nuke this item from my "Add Printers" list like it never happened. Thanks for any leads you can offer.
See screen shot below if you are confused as to what I am talking about. The top "Adobe PDF 8.0" is from my computer. The second one is something someone is incorrectly sharing from their computer (which I will remove as soon as I get access to it).

I tried manually removing some files but still the Adobe PDF 8 appeared in the Add Printers > Default view.
I then ran the Adobe Acrobat uninstaller and this successfully stopped the Adobe PDF 8 "printer" from appearing. Thankfully the Uninstaller also created a log file that I have posted below showing all that was removed from the Mac. Note that you probably don't have all the files listed, especially if you have already removed Acrobat 8 from this Mac, but if you remove the files that are remaining then this will be sure to stop the printer from appearing.
