  • Unable to find Adobe PDF resource files/Expired Certificate

    A user running CS4 is unable to use the Save As PDF (the Acrobat COM Add-on - not the native Office feature) function from Office 2007. The error displayed is:
    Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files.

    I have done the repair install with no change. This error still occurs.
    In researching this issue I visited the Office Trust Center and found that the Adobe Systems, Incorporated VeriSign Class 3 Code Signing 2004 CA certificate expired on 11/5/2009. The user believes this is when the error started to occur.
    Is the certificate the cause of this error? Is there a newer code signing certificate available?
    Any other suggestions on getting this issue resolved?

  • "Adobe PDF" resource file

    I am "climbing the walls" on this one - When I create document (book) in InDesign and print to PDF I get the following error:
    Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Adobe PDF\Settings\Adobe PDF Converter.joboptions.
    Do you want to run this installer in repair mode?
    I have been creating these same documents in InDesign and printed to PDF for months - I had even just, 5 - 10 minutes, before created this document successfully - but then all of a sudden BOOM it won't work.
    I have tried researching this problem but haven't found anything that works, HELP!!!
    Thank you,
    Reba

    I had a similar problem printing to Adobe PDF (as the default printer) and the error was exactly as described above.
    Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Adobe PDF\Settings\Adobe PDF Converter.joboptions.
    Do you want to run this installer in repair mode?
    Looking for this folder to see if the file was there, I could not see "Documents" in All Users. However when I tried to create a folder Documents, the error said it already existed. So, the folder structure exists, just not visible. Next, using a command prompt I navigated all the way to the Settings folder described above and looked to see if the Adobe PDF Converter.joboptions file was there. It was missing.
    I took the advice of Peter Speir, find any .joboptions file, rename it and copy it to this location.
    Copying to hidden folders has to be done at a Command prompt. If your not sure how to do this...
    1. Copy a .joboptions file to c:\. I chose Standard.joboptions.
    2. Rename to the file name it expects, in this case, Adobe PDF Converter.joboptions
    3. Open a command Prompt (type cmd at Start, Run). Then navigate to the Root C:\ with this command
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users>cd c:\
    4. Paste string below (or one that matches the location of the file you are missing) at the Command prompt. (To paste into the command prompt in XP, click the upper left corner of the command prompt window, select Edit from the context menu, and Paste).
    (the below is actually all one line though here it may appear to be two lines).
    C:\>copy ado*.joboptions C:\DOCUME~1\ALLUSE~1\DOCUME~1\ADOBEP~1\Settings
    You could probably use the full folder names, i.e. instead of DOCUME~1, use Documents and Settings. I didn't try it. But if that fails, the above does work.
    Might help, can't hurt. Worked for me!

  • Adobe Distiller 11.0.9 - Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\AMT"

    When I attempt to launch Adobe Distiller Pro 11.0.929, I get an error:
    Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\AMT" You must have Administrator privileges to install these files. Please contact your local system administrator.
    Does anyone know how I might resolve this error?  Re-installing Acrobat fixes it, however I'm getting this error on multiple machines so I would prefer to not have to re-install if possible. Any clues or hints you might have are very welcome!

    Yes, the folder exists and I am able to access it.

  • Unable to find Adobe PDF resource files since SP3 installed

    We have a user who is sure since XP Service Pack 3 was installed that he cannot print to PDF. Once he clicks Print he gets an error stating
    Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files
    "C:\...\Adobe PDF 6.0\Settings\Adobe PDF Converter.joboptions"
    Running the installer in repair mode does not work. Reinstalling the whole thing does not work. However when I log in as an admin user the issue does not occur at all. It is Acrobat Standard 6 by the way.
    Thanks

    Does this occur if you are logged in as the administrator? Have you updated AA8 to the latest version? You very likely need the latest version to run on Win 7, particularly since AA8 is not certified for Win 7. If you have a 64-bit system, there is no question that you need to update.

  • How to fix: "Unable to find Adobe PDF resource files?"

    Acrobat 10 Pro: When creating PDF file, I get the message "Unable to find Adobe PDF resource files".  How do I fix this?

    Usually Acrobat is looking for the settings files as I recall. The problem is typically that they are located in a folder to which you as a user do not have access. You can open Distiller and see if you have access to the settings files there. You may either need to set the access to the folder where the files are located, or copy them to a new location and activate them in Distiller. Then go to the printer properties and select your default settings. At least this is what I would try.

  • Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files PROBLEM

    I've installed Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard on Windows 7 operating computer.
    And while I was trying to create PDF from a file, it always shows
    Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files.
    Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?
    Yes or No
    I've pressed yes yet it doesn't really help me and still shows the same message.
    I've pressed no, and it doesn't do anything.
    ANY IDEA?
    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

  • Unable to find Adobe PDF resource files on Acrobat X Pro

    I have a Windows 7 32-bit machine that receives the following error when attempting to create a PDF from Microsoft Office Word 2010: "Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files. "Acrobat PDFMaker" You must have Administrator priveleges to install these files. Please contact your local systems administrator" The user is a local administrator. Note: This does NOT happen on Excel 2010, only Word.
    I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Acrobat Pro, running the installer in safe mode from the default local administrator account, printing directly to the PDF printer and following several other suggestions from similar threads.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Error - Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files

    When attempting to create a PDF from a "dot DOC file" I receive "Unable to to find Adobe PDF resource files."  As part of the message the dialog box asks if I want to run install in repair mode.  I have clicked the "yes" button but the problem remains and I cannot create the PDF.  Clicking the "no" button does nothing but make the dialog box disappear.  I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled using my original program disc for version 7.0.
    What can I do?

    OK, I figured it was related to the joboptions. That is a typical problem when permissions come up. You need to be sure you have access to the folder that is mentioned. If you are administrator, that would normally not be a problem. But that is typically the issue. If it is empty as you suggest, then that is definitely an issue. You should be able to search for the files on your system. For this machine with VISTA, the joboptions that are used typically are under "C:\Users\All Users\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings". The optional ones are under "C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings" for AA8 (I am logged in as the administrator). I have not checked my Win7 machine, but I suspect things are still under the users folders.

  • Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files error

    Hi Good Day.. I just installed my Acrobat Professional 11 last week.. I had no problem with the 2 computers but in 1 computer I'm experiencing this error while trying to combine excel files into PDF...
    " Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files
    Do you want to run the installer in repair mode? "
    I tried to run in repiar mode but still the same, tried to unsinstall the software and reinstall but still the same.. Did anyone experience the same problem? Please help!
    Thank you!

    I get a similar error, but only under the following conditions:  I must be printing to the Adobe PDF printer and printing multiple pages, one at a time, and then it only happens on the second and subsequent print attempts.  That is to say, the first page prints just fine and this just started yesterday afternoon. The specific file referenced in the error does not exist, but why would it work the first time and not the second?  Since it only started yesterday, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling this morning, but it made no difference.  I don't see anything under print properties like job-options and it is a single user, unshared printer.  Thoughts?  I understand the same thing is happening in at least one other of our locations, but no one there has looked into it yet.  This is a BIG problem for me, however, and I need to find an answer quickly.

  • Unable to find the Adobe PDF resource file

    I am unable to create PDF files from a Microsoft office document.  I am operating Windows 8.1 and Adobe professional XI.  I received the following error message: unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource file "Adobe PDF maker."  I have followed the previous threads with known issues for Adobe X however, I have never installed Adobe X and I was able to create PDF documents from Microsoft office documents up until approximately 2 weeks ago.

    I started having this problem yesterday. A few days ago I was having issues and notice that I had 2 versions of Acrobat XI (Creative Cloud) installed.  I started to uninstall one of the versions (in Windows Control Panel) and it took forever. I canceled the process and restarted the computer. Acrobat seemed to be working normally, but I was unable to create PDF files from Word, and received the resource files message listed above. In addition, I cannot print to a PDF any longer. Distiller is set to "standard." I am trying to run repair, but the Windows process circle keeps turning and has been for over 30 minutes. I have no idea whether Acrobat is repairing anything, or whether I should terminate the process and do something else. Any ideas?

    Hi there. Not a problem.  This is probably a known conflict between MINDSTORMS 1.0 and LabVIEW.  It can be fixed easily.  Please see http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/4B0C1BBDA9CFEBE7862573D0005D93C4
    This might have also affected MINDSTORMS 1.1 but I can't recall.

  • Very Very Urgnet -- export to pdf error -- File not found

    Hi to all,
    I have a major problem while exporting pdf files at runtime
    Using VB 6.0 and Crystal Reports 8.5, I am able to generate the required report.
    While exporting to the pdf, I need to save the files without any user interaction.
    I have tried using the exportoptions, but it gives error
    Dim appl As New CRAXDRT.Application
    Dim rep As CRAXDRT.Report
    Private Sub Command1_Click()
         reppath="sf_details.rpt"
         pdfpath="c:\test2.pdf"
         Set rep = appl.OpenReport(reppath, 1)
         rep.ExportOptions.DiskFileName = pdfpath
         rep.ExportOptions.DestinationType = crEDTDiskFile
         rep.ExportOptions.FormatType = crEFTPortableDocFormat
         rep.Export False
    End Sub
    "File not found" at this line --> rep.Export False
    Secondly, fonts dont seem to appear the same as compared in the report viewer and the exported pdfs.
    Any help will be highly appreciated.
