Adobe Photoshop 6.0 for mac install

I purchased Adobe Photoshop 6.0 for mac off ebay, but when I try to install it I get a message that says the old style install is not supported. I am using an iMac Intel with Lion installed. Any suggestions?

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 installed and it is working in Lion; however..... I installed mine while still running Snow Leopard. I mention this because it could be a problem with the Adobe Installer being a PPC application, while the actual application is Universal (I checked that and it is universal).
I had this same thing happen with my Final Cut Express - the installer would refuse to run, but I managed to copy all the files and application and move it over to Lion and the application runs just fine.
I don't know if yours is the same problem, but thought I'd offer this in case - did you get a warning that PPC applications do not work in Lion? If so, as long as you have a Mac with Snow Leopard, you might be able install it there and then to migrate it over (not sure though because Adobe places files everywhere and you'd have to copy them all).

Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 for Mac does not show up in Applications. Tutorial for editing from iPhoto shows selecting the Adobe software in Applications. Am I missing a step in registering product?

I answered my own question: There's a difference between "download' and "install." Hunt for "install" (1.5 hrs in my case) and line up your passwords, Adobe ID, etc, then install. Took 15 min. The right choice shows up in Applications. Now it's on to figuring out why photo selected for edit in iPhoto does not show up on screen in Elements.

  • Adobe PhotoShop Elements 6 for Mac

I've downloaded, without difficulty, the Adobe PhotoShop Elements 6 for Mac 30 day trial onto my Pismo running OS 10.4.8 with 1GB of RAM. As soon as I try to open a photo the application crashes. I know the G3 processor (500 MHz) will be slow but it shouldn't be impossible for it to cope. Adobe's site says that G4 or higher is required. Perhaps I should look at earlier versions of the application. Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated

Hi, Tim. As you've noted, your Pismo doesn't meet the minimum System Requirements for PSE6:
    *PowerPC® G4 or G5 or multicore Intel® processor (your Pismo has a G3)*
    - Mac OS X v10.4.8 through 10.5.2
    - 512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)
*64MB of video RAM (your Pismo has 8MB)*
    - 1GB of available hard-disk space (additional free space required during installation)
    - 1,024x768 monitor resolution with 16-bit video card
    - DVD-ROM drive
    - QuickTime 7 software required for multimedia features
    - Internet connection required for Internet-based services
    (boldface added)
Yes, if I were you I'd try to buy an earlier version of PSE.

  • How can I download / install Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 for Mac?

My husband bought me Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 for me as a gift, but for windows when I have a Mac.  I have the license number, but I need a mac download file.  How can I go about getting one?

He bought it through Amazon as a download for windows. Therefore, I fear the download and/or license can only be used for windows.  I want to download PE9 for Mac and enter the license key to confirm, however, but I can't find a free download.  I thought the cost was associated with the license key and not the download, apparently I am wrong.

  • Photoshop elements4.0 for MAC, install stops -- help!

I have photoshop elements4.0 for MAC, when I install on my MacBook Pro OS 10.9 it gets almost to the end of the installation then stops.  Is there a fix for this?

PSE 4 stopped working in OS X many versions ago. You need at least PSE 6 for 10.9.

  • Unable to download and activate Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac.

My old mac is being replaced with a new mac and unfortunately, it seems like I will have to repurchase the programs I was using.
I have a disc for Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0, and purchased an upgrade years ago for Elements 6.0. The download for the version 6.0 is no longer available. I contacted support and they informed me that my only option was to purchase an upgrade.
It is very frustrating to me that I cannot continue to use the programs I was using on my old computer. Any suggestions?

No, sorry. There was an Australian site that had the PSE 6 trial for a while, but that wouldn't help you either, since back then you couldn't enter a serial number into the trial version. If you didn't save your original installation media, I'm afraid you're stuck. Neither Adobe nor ProDesign make PSE 6 available as a download, probably since it would be more trouble for them than it's worth, since hardly anyone bought downloads back then and serial numbers from the disc version won't work in a download for PSE 6 and vice versa, so they'd have dozens of people complaining that there was  something wrong.

  • Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 For Mac - Text Cursor Not Stable!

I recently installed some fonts on my Mac Pro and besides the fact that Microsoft Office 2011 now crashes upon starting any program within that suite, I've also noticed that Photoshop, specifically the text cursor when you go to create or edit text, now changes between the arrow and the round circle of dots synonymous with a Mac. Oddly enough, I have THE EXACT same setup on my MacBook Pro and it IS NOT doing this! Has anyone come acoss this issue? I've tried everything from uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop CC 2014 to clearing font caches using OnyX to making sure accessibility options aren't causing the issue and well beyond that! It's extremely annoying and yes I've even tried toggling between seeing the workspace background and seeing the desktop background in Photoshop and still, to no avail, this damn issue has been plaguing me all day! If anyone has a fix (besides me reformatting and reloading EVERYTHING) please, please, please post and/or e-mail me directly at [email protected] As I said, I loaded the EXACT same fonts to both my MP and MBP and the issue only arose on my MP, of course, the one that I NEED to work! Thanks SO much!

  • Question on Adobe Photoshop 5.0 for Mac

I am using on my IMac (10.6.8 Snow Leopord) Aperture 3.
    I want to know  :
    1. Can I download and use Abode Photoshop 5.0  Limited Edition  Windows / Mac  onto my IMac ?
    2. Although this Abode program is ancient now, can it do certain things that Aperture 3 cannot (see below)
I am only interested in the ability to crop around things that are shown in a jpg or raw image ... such as
isolating a village priest from his surroundings .. or isolating a football player from the field or pitch ... and
then taking that isolated image and using it ... to either print separately or to enter into a Keynote talk.
Pages has this feature (it is called Alpha) but it does not work well at all. Preview, I think, has this feature too but
it also does not work well. So I am looking for a program that can. I don't want to buy an expensive new Abode
program if I can used Photoshop 5.0
Otherwise I am happy with Aperture 3.  Just this one special cropping tool I would like.
Many thanks for  helping me to unravel this.    Don in California.

No, you do not want to use such an ancient version - even if it did work. Far superior cheap or free editing is available from modern non-Adobe image editing applications.
Every digital photog needs good conversance with a modern image editor. Aperture excels at images management, it is only marginally an image editor.
Instead I recommend GIMP (free) or Pixelmator. Full hugely-expensive Photoshop used to be the only real choice but only full-time pros need it today. Folks like me still use it mostly because it is what we know.  Photoshop Elements is less competent and less expensive than full PS but IMO GIMP and Pixelmator are better value.
All image editors have a learning curve but are worth the effort.
