Adobe Photoshop CS5 Classroom in a Book

Hello,
I've bought the "Adobe Photoshop CS5 Classroom in a Book" and watched the videos. In the video training, chapter 3 Image Editing Concepts, Kelly announces that she will deal selections, puppet wraps, layers, masks. I haven't found the videos. Do you know where I can find those videos?

I was able to find a site that shows the list of tools like in the book but better in one single page. I just wish I knew what my professor meant by "concepts" and "skills" since there could be a variety of these but what?

Yes, there will be some new features in CC that CS6 does not have, but 97% will be the same.

Photoshop CS5 Classroom in a book lesson 13

Hi,
Will somebody help me. In lesson 13 of Classroom in a book PS CS5 you learn to make html-files in PS CS5. After creating a file you are asked to pre-run it with Bridge. Rightclick and then open with a browser. I can't open this just made file (html) in Explorer or any other browser. My PS opens and is restricted to Word only..... What is wrong?? Has this something to do with PS or....???
I solved the problem for now by using Dreamweaver (Web-preview) instead but it's annoying....

Sorry for my late response, I did the first option. That worked but is not what I like.
The second suggestion you made gave: HTML listed "Windows explorer".
Do I have to change that to Photoshop CS5 or.....

Adobe Photoshop CS6 Classroom in a Book Lesson 10

I am unable to use three video clips in Lesson 10. A message with an exclamation mark pops up with "Video layer footage is unavailable'. I am able to work with all still images but these three video images are impossible to open and work on. Pages 272, 273, 276, 277 and several others refer. No problem with anything else in Lesson 10 - just the video layers. PLEASE could you advise me how I can overcome these problems.

Adobe Photoshop CS6 - Classroom in a Book disk error

I am trying to use the disk which came with Classroom in a Book, but the CD drive on my iMac makes a loud-ish buzzing noise when it tries to read the disk and then ejects it. I tested a different CD and it worked fine, so I don't think the drive is the issue. Also, I was able to use the CD on my classroom Mac without a problem. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Copy the content to a USB stick on another machine.

cause learned a lot of things. That particular book along with the CD gives you the proper practice step by step. Unfortunatelly I already went through that book twice and I would like to know of a similar book that comes with a CD and you get step by step instructions to practice photoshop.

I buy a lot of computer books. When I purchased Dreamweaver CS5 at Adobe.com there was a offer for a free 30 day subscription to lynda.com
When I was using the 30 day demo of Dreamweaver CS5 I was search and reading book reviews for Dreamweaver so If I decided to purchase Dreamweaver (I did end up purchasing it) I would know what book/books I should purchase to go with it.
After just a few days of using my free 30 day trial of lynda.com I paid for a subscription to the site. I have learned so much about Dreamweaver and now Fireworks from lydna.com in the first few weeks of working with the adobe programs and it only cost as much (or even less) then a lot of books on Dreamweaver or Fireworks.
I will still be purchasing books for the adobe programs for future references, but lynda.com sure is a great way to get a jump start on learning a product that was completely new to me.
I highly recommend you give lynda.com a try.

E-book of Adobe Photoshop CS3 Classroom in a Book do you get disc?

I was going to purchase an e-book of the above referenced book, but I know the hard copy comes with a disc of project pictures and misc. items for the activities. Does the e-book come with links or anything to that stuff? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

if you bought it from the respected store It will lead you inside Link inside area in which only adobe product can give you the clue about that,usually ebook is kind of manual to use all the other followed material so you certainly will need to read that e-book

Each version of Adobe products builds upon the previous ones. Some things like filters and advanced features may evolve or become deprecated over time, but the basic tools have remained pretty much the same for decades. As long as you know there are subtle differences between versions, I think you will still get a great deal of value from C in a B for CS6.

I just purchased ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS2 'Classroom in a Book'

When I received the 'used' book yesterday in the mail, I was dismayed to discover that the lesson CD was missing. Anybody have any thoughts on how I can get a copy of the CD or download the lessons from someplace. Thus far I haven't heard back from the provider. Thanks in advance.
P.S. Willing to pay for a copy of the CD, otherwise the book is worthless.

Purchased the CS version, used from a campus bookstore. The CD was there, but upon loading, it was damaged. No cleaning would help. Next day, a complete replacement was given.
Now, that was at a "brick-n-mortar" bookstore, so it will be up to the seller to work with you on this one. I'd contact them and ask about the disc. They may have just forgotten to put it into the package. I always take mine out, and put them into many 4-disc packages. It would be possible, should I sell one of my copies, that I might not really think about it, and do the same, as your seller. In my case, I'd quickly apologize, and make ammends with free rapid shipping.

Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 Classroom in a Book Chapter 10

While converting my vertical menu library item to a Spry Vertical Menu, my <div.content> element dropped down on the page. Pages 244-45 offer a "fix" for this issue (deleting the second ul.MenuBarVertical rule) and I did this, but <div.content> still isn't returning to its origional position (i.e. it's still dropping to the bottom right of the vertical Spry Menu Bar Menu Bar 1 (side_content) and directly to the right of the div .sidebar1).
I'm running DW CS5.5 on my machine, will this make a difference?

Thanks for the suggestion, Hans. Unfortunately, I'm using a different type of Spry Menu than what Gramps was referring to. Attached is a screenshot that might help provide a visual of what's going on. Main_content should float to the right of side_content. I've tried resizing the width of the Spry Menu in side_content, but that doesn't seem to work. Instead, main_content will either float further to the right, or it will slightly overlap the sidebar image placeholder. Any suggestions? I can provide code if needed.

Adobe Illustrator CS5-Classroom in a book

It's taken me a couple of hours to get to page 26 and now I am stuck. I am finding the software does not always work as described by the book. I am on Lesson 00, Working with type. I follow the directions, which I have read over and over again, but my type does not show up on the graphic. A tiny blue box appears where the type should be though. Has anyone else encountered this problem and conquered it?

Adding text to a graphic using Type. Instructions:
#1. Choose Window > Workspace > Essentials to reset the panels.
#2. Select the Type tool, and click once on the artboard in an area where there are no objects. You will reposition the text later in the lesson.
#3. Type FelliciTea.
No text shows up, only a tiny blink.
Was it inappropiate for me to ask this question on this forum? If so, could you please direct me to where I can get help?

Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 Classroom in A Book

Hi! I'm having trouble with the last lesson (17) when uploading to the web server. My issue is that when I uploaded the .php files (dynamic pages) they do not work on the web host at all. In other words, how to do I configure the php pages with the databases?
When I try to open the .php files I get an error message:

Can I even have the LocalPHP.php file since I'm uploading to a host on the internet?

Well, I tried setting a database on 00webhost but I don't know how to tie everything together? In other words, I have a connections folder with LocalPHP.php but thats a localhost (virtual) PHP database file... how do i convert/change it to remote server on 00webhost? I have to contact the actual 00webhost representatives and ask them for help? Is there a way to resolve the issue with PHP by myself? Could you help me configure the database on the remote (00webhost) server and write a procedure on how to alter my LocalPHP.php file or additional code to be appropriate for remote server trasfers?
