Adobe Photoshop CS6 100% Zoom Issue

Adobe Photoshop CS6 Version 13.0.6 x64
OS X Yosemite Version 10.10
100% Zoom is very tiny on my screen. How do I fix?

An Images dpi setting has nothing to do with it.  Its all about the number of pixels you have.    Image for the web have fewer pixels.  It does not matter it you set the image DPI resolution is 72, 300 or any other value when you don't resample the number of pixels remain the same.  When you display actual pixels 100% zoom an image with 10K pixels with a 300dpi is the same 10K pixel image with a 72dpi resolution setting.  Printers will use the images dpi setting to adjust pixel size.  Displays do not they are run at their native DPI resolution whatever that is.  So a 10K pixel image with a 72DPI setting and a 10K pixels image with a 300DPI setting will be displayed as a 10K pixel image at the displays dpi resolution.
DPI defines Pixel size pixel density  300DPI means 90000 square pixels per inch  so the pixel size would be 1/300" x 1/300".  72DPI means 5184 pixels per square inch so pixel size is 1/72" x 1/72"
So if you have an image with 7200px x 7200px and set the dpi tp 72DPI and print it will print 100" x 100" do know of a printer the cal handle 100" paper
So if you have an image with 7200px x 7200px and set the dpi tp 300DPI and print it will print 24" x 24" you need a large form printer that can handle 24" wide paper
This image can not be displayed on a display zoomed to 100% only part of the image will fit you will need to scroll about the image. Unless you have a 34" display with a square aspect ratio with a 300DPI native resolution that I don't know about.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS6 weird hangup issues with paintbrush

    Hello All,
I've been an extremely happy user of Photoshop CS6 x64 on my windows machine since it was released. None of the existing bugs had any effect on me and i was happy as a clam.
Until about two weeks ago. Some update was released and i downloaded and installed it.
Now suddenly, when i'm retouching photographs, using masks and the paintbrush to fill, the mouse hangs. Often. Just gets stuck in position and i have to wait for a second or two to get it back. Also happens with the clone stamp. It's like a delay has been added to the controls. No other way to explain it.
No other hardware of software changes on my machine at all. Just the Photoshop Update. I'm running version 13.0.1 on x64 windows. Have plenty of ram and plenty of CPU.
Anyone else experiencing this, with the latest update in particular? The paint brush, clone tool and healing brush controls used to be much more responsive.

    Brendan Stewart wrote:
i mean creating a layer mask and painting it back in with the paintbrush.
Yes that is normal.  I have no problem with CS6, No lag or hesitation.
A tip for you if your creating the mask using a copy of a color channel. Set the brush blending mode to "Overlay" This will protect the mask Black and White areas. You will only be able yo paint in gray areas of the mask.   When areas turn 0,0,0 Black or 255,255,255 White they become protected too. Use a Wacom tablet soft brush low opacity and many strokes

  • Adobe Photoshop cs6 over citrix, Image Issue

    HI Guys,
I am Citrix Tech, could you please help or suggest me in get this issue sorted. we have published Adobe Photoshop CS6 over Citrix which uses ICA protocol. When user launches the application and opens a image it loads with Blue coat color over the image.

Thanks for the update, yes initial checks reveals it is something to deal with Citrix. I was able to open the same image fine locally on Server, but when accessd via citrix it comes with Blue color.
As of now Citrix have advised to have Citrix Roll pack 05 to be installed.
    Will update if that fixes

Reinstalling resolved the issue. In case others are having the same issue, here is some more detail on this.
After a hard drive failure, I had to restore my machine from a Time Machine backup. After that Photoshop would not launch. All other Master Collection CS6 apps were working, except Photoshop.
When I tried to reinstall from the DVD, while installation was in progress (several steps after supplying and verifying my License Key), it would give an error message that my copy of the CS6 is counterfeit and installation would stop.
After talking to Adobe Tech Support on the phone, I uninstalled Photoshop, downloaded the trial version of CS6 from online (here is the link - Other downloads), then installed Photoshop from this download instead of my factory supplied DVD. This time, the installation went through and I was able to launch Photoshop after installation.
No activation was requires since other CS6 apps were already activated in the machine.

  • Constant Adobe Photoshop CS6 Crashes

Hello there, today I have been experiencing multiple crashes from my Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended program.
I am running a Windows 7 64bit computer, and just get the message, "Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended has stopped working" and no crash report is given to me or saved that I know of.
I reset my preferences, but that did not fix the issue. It is also probably not a performance issue, I have 64gb`s of ram and an Nvidia 680 gpu, plus Photoshop has worked fine for me for a long time.
Before I reset my preferences I thought it may have been a plugin I had called Coolorus, but I disabled it and that didn't help anything.
When I open Photoshop there is a recovered file from the past of what I was currently working on, I'm not sure if that info helps at all.
My version of Photoshop CS6 Extended is: 13.0.1 x64. (Not sure if that's the latest version since I don't think CS6 Extended was listed in the update list, and my update manager says there aren't any updates.)
If I may not be looking in the right places for the crash report please tell me, and if anyone has a resolution with just this info, please tell me (pretty sure it's not enough though.)
Thank you for the help! ^^

  • Adobe Photoshop CS6 Very Slow On Rendering Type

I have a notebook with specification as mentioned below :
    Lenovo Ideapad Y470P
    2nd generation Intel Core i7-2670QM Processor( 2.2GHz 1333MHz 6MB)
    Windows 7 Ultimate x64
    AMD Radeon HD 7690 2GB
    8.0GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM 1333 MHz
    750GB 5400
I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit) for doing my job.
Right now, i have a task to create a banner with dimension 800 x 900 Centimeters with Resolution 300 DPI and Color Mode RGB 16 Bit.
The file size when blank is about 56.1 GB.
The problem is, when i add some text with Horizontal Type Tool and click on the Move Tool, the Rendering Type screen show up and take a very very long time to finished.
I have made some configurations to my Photoshop that i found on Adobe Forum, but the problem still persisted.
Some configurations that i've made is :
    - Turn off the Automatically Save Recovery Information
    - Set Maximize PSD and PSB File Compatibility to Ask
    - Set the Memory Usage to 95%
    - Set the Cache Levels to 8 and Cache Tile Size to 1024K
    - Set the Graphics Advanced Settings to Drawing Mode Advanced, and Check the option Use Graphics Processor To Accelerate Computation, and Uncheck the option Anti-Alias and 30 Bit Display
    - Set the Scratch Disk to another partition ( C:System D:PageFile E:Data F:Scratch Disk)
And after all of that configuration, my Photoshop still slow when Rendering Type.
Could you give me some tips to solve my problem?
    Thanks

300 ppi for a banner that size is categorically not normal.  Guaranteed.
Get specific instructions from the shop that is going to print it.
You keep confusing ppi with dpi.  The resolution of an image file really is expressed in ppi, pixels per inch, not "dpi" which is dots per inch.  The precise terminology is as follows:
DPI = Dots per inch = units used to measure the resolution of a printer
LPI = Lines per inch = The offset printing 'lines' or dots per inch in a halftone or line screen.
PPI = Pixels per inch = the number of pixels per inch in screen/scanner file terms.
Here's a link to a discussion that may interest you:
    http://graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/questions/487/what-ppi-should-a-large-format-artwor k-for-print-be-done-at
It includes the following chart and subsequent comments :
"The rule of thumb is that we need 1.5 to 2 times the LPI in PPI to get acceptable results.
    "Viewing Distance   Present Study
20 feet    greater than 10 LPI
18 feet    18.75 LPI or greater
16 feet    18.75 LPI or greater
14 feet    37.5 LPI or greater
12 feet    37.5 LPI or greater
10 feet    50 LPI or greater
8 feet     65 LPI or greater
6 feet     85 LPI or greater
4 feet     100 LPI or greater
2 feet     133 LPI or greater
1 foot     150 LPI or greater
6 inches   150 LPI or greater
"Presumably, for a banner 3m x 5m, you'd be standing at a minimum of, say, 10 feet. (Just eyeballing the wall here.) So, by this table, you'll need 50 LPI minimum. That would mean your raster graphics should be about 100 PPI, or 75 PPI at 12-14 feet. Considering that and the fact that 2x LPI is pretty conservative for reproducing fidelity (often 1.5xLPI is "enough"), this agrees with [the given] advice of 75 PPI being acceptable."
Talk to your printer.  I suspect they will want a file at under 75 ppi, or even much less.  Follow the printer's advice/request.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS6 provides no engine for debugging

    Hello,
I've been trying to diagnose a problem with my wife's copy of CS6 Web and Design premium. Basically it's unable to run any JSX script that requires the Debug engine. I receive the error message 'Adobe Photoshop CS6 provides no engine for debugging' - trying it on Illustrator also gives a similar error. Persisting by clicking the 'play' button brings up a popup error message that says 'Unable to Run Script' or something similar.
Note that if I hack our JSX script to bypass the debug engine it works fine - except certain PSDs will cause CS6 (and my older copy of CS4) to crash, so this is only a stopgap measure. Disabling OpenGL on CS4 seems to prevent crashing but it's not an option on the wife's copy since she's a full-time artist and I'm not.
This is what I've had to change -
    $.level = 2;    // debug level: 0-2 (0:disable, 1:break on error, 2:break at beginning)
debugger;        // launch debugger on next line
Changing the $.level = 0 lets me continue without issue.
This problem does NOT exist on my laptop using the same installer downloaded from Adobe.com. (I use trial version for testing, she uses her serial no.)
Is it possible this problem persists because I uninstalled an old copy of Photoshop CS5 (standalone installation) AFTER installing CS6 Web & Design (multiple programs)?
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling CS6, but the problem persists.
Please help, our jobs rely on this. >.<
Worst case scenario I'll copy the entire install folder over from my laptop to try and fix the problem but I'd rather not have to since we're currently working in different countries and I can only use Remote Assistance to help.

The problem is the SCRIPTS work - the debugging engine is what's missing for some reason. Even if there's a way to just cleanly uninstall everything so I can start from scratch without formatting the hard disk would be a good solution. Is there a fix for this?  When I try to edit an image in Photoshop from Lightroom 4 (CTRL+E), Photoshop CS6 launches immediately but with no image.  In Lightroom 4, after about two minutes, the message box appears saying "The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop CS6 could not be launched."  When I click OK, the image promptly opens in Photoshop CS6 like normal.  This wan an itermittent issue for me after the LR4.1 release.  I was hoping that LR4.2 would help, but now I get the error every time.
    System
    Lightroom 4.2 x64
    Photoshop CS6 v13.0.1 x64
    Bridge 5.0.1.23 x64
    Windows 7 Pro x64
AMD Six Core / 3.9 Ghz
    16 GB Memory
    NVidia Quadro 1 Gb Video
    Scratch space on three drives

This may be a cooincidence, I starting having problems after I started using a Nikon D800, which has 36MP files.  LR4 released at the same time as the D800.  LR4 shows signs of struggling with the larger files, which are typically 280MB TIFFs for the D800, like freezing for several seconds when using an adjustment brush or going into a spasm with the crop tool.  Because Photoshop does not have similar large file issues, I'm doing more basic work in Photoshop, like cropping, dodge and burn, exposure adjustment, etc.
Because Photoshop otherwise runs fine, and appears to read all the prefernes properly mid-issue, to get a better idea of what's going on, I turned on Process Monitor from Technet. For what it's worth, LR4 appears to touch the Photoshop preferences before it launches Photoshop.  LR4 must have a memory leak in that corrupts the Photoshop preferences file in a way that makes no difference to Photoshop.
My weekend project is to try Capture One to see if I can spend more time on photography and less troubleshooting Adobe problems.  As it stands, LR4 is not usable for me.

  • I am running a TRIAL VERSION of Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended and Bridge does not open.  Help?

I am running a TRIAL VERSION of Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended on MAC and Bridge does not open.  It did open when I first downloaded it - but now a black question mark is over the BR icon and it does not open up.  Any ideas from anyone?

    Hi Steve -
I just thought it was interesting and helpful to me to learn that the icon for Bridge does not appear anywhere.  Not in Application Folder.  Not in the Finders Directory Files.  I see your point - if I could locate that icon - I'd be set by dragging it onto my DOCK and launching it from there.
So - I'm assuming I need to uninstall CS6.   Please list all the steps for me to uninstall so that I don't miss any CS6 files.
When I search in FINDER for CS6 uninstall- I see two icons -  red adobe "UNINSTALL ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS6" (both files are identical)  Under KIND they both say Alias - with two different dates they were last opened (in November - few minutes apart).  Is that what I use to uninstall completely all the files related to PS CS6 Extended as well as Bridge?
Do I need to DEACTIVATE ANYTHING ANYWHERE?
DOES ANYTHING NEED TO GO INTO TRASH.
I just want to make sure 'everything' related to CS6 Extended is off my computer and out of all the files.  In the event i want to re-install - naturally I don't want to run into any conflicting 'issues'.
Do you think if I reinstall I will run into this same problem again (BR not launching)?  Is there anything I can do to prevent it?  I note on the forums - going a few years back - that there have been a lot of issues related to this same problem - even in other versions of the Creative Suite.  Is Adobe doing anything to rectify this problem for us Photoshop CS Suite lovers or is all their focus just going into CC?
Thank you so much for trying to help me resolve this issue.  It is very frustrating to have an Adobe product that is not completely functional.  Especially when the Creative Suites are so expensive.  I appreciate all the time you've put into this issue.
    Carole

    salflyfish,
Because Photoshop is an Adobe product you should be asking on an Adobe product forum or calling Adobe for assistance. Also your profile isn't complete but it does indicate you own a Mac Pro, this is an Intel based iMac forum. If you do have a Mac Pro please re-consider posting there. To complete your profile please click Profile Update, by doing so this helps the volunteers know basics about your system such as which version of OS X is installed, the exact model you own, the amount of installed RAM etc.... Without that information diagnosing an issue is much more difficult.

  • ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS6 COLOR PROBLEMS

hi i have a problem on adobe cs6, i am a photographer and i work heavily on my pictures, sometimes with graphic techniques(like lens flare, light leaks etc) and sometimes just with camera raw. i have this problem in the sense that i am satisfied with how the final image looks on my monitor but when i send these pictures to both my phones (AN HTC android and a blackberry q5) the images look over saturated, the colors are too contrasted and are too deep, everything looks like i over edited it and i dont understand. my laptop monitor supports 32-bit imaging and its set to that by default, but my picture mode in photoshop is set to 16-bit by default, please help as i dont know what to do, could it be my monitor thats rendering false colors? i read something about changing color spaces to between sRGB adobe RGB and ProPhoto RGB but i just dont understand anything, please help
    laptop specs:
    toshiba satellite a665-s6050
    intel core i3 350m @2.2ghz
    intel hd 3000 graphics card
adobe photoshop cs6.1 with the latest camera raw

What is the images’ Color Space and do you embed the profile when saving?
In all probability your phones are simply not color managed.
So while converting the images to sRGB might improve the situation the issue may be that you are expecting what’s pretty much impossible – that images appear identically in color managed applications and on non-color managed devices.
