Adobe Photoshop CS6 Classroom in a Book Lesson 10

I am unable to use three video clips in Lesson 10. A message with an exclamation mark pops up with "Video layer footage is unavailable'. I am able to work with all still images but these three video images are impossible to open and work on. Pages 272, 273, 276, 277 and several others refer. No problem with anything else in Lesson 10 - just the video layers. PLEASE could you advise me how I can overcome these problems.

Adobe Premier CS6 Classroom in a Book - Lesson 11.prproj

I bought Adobe Premier CS6 Classroom in a Book and am trying to use the lesson files that are on the CD.
At school, I have an iMac and all the lesson files load up perfectly, whether they are being loaded from the included CD or from the external 7200RPM Firewire 800 hard drive I have.
Yet, when I try to load the same prproj files on my Windows 7 PC, I get a pop-up error that says:
This project contained a sequence that could not be opened.
No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type.
It isn't just happening on one file. Some of the files open, but most of them do not.
Does anybody have any ideas on what I can do here?

IIRC, the CiaB files are MOV. Is that correct?
Do you have Apple's QT Player installed on your PC, and if so, what version?

Adobe Photoshop CS6 - Classroom in a Book disk error

I am trying to use the disk which came with Classroom in a Book, but the CD drive on my iMac makes a loud-ish buzzing noise when it tries to read the disk and then ejects it. I tested a different CD and it worked fine, so I don't think the drive is the issue. Also, I was able to use the CD on my classroom Mac without a problem. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Copy the content to a USB stick on another machine.

I've bought the "Adobe Photoshop CS5 Classroom in a Book" and watched the videos. In the video training, chapter 3 Image Editing Concepts, Kelly announces that she will deal selections, puppet wraps, layers, masks. I haven't found the videos. Do you know where I can find those videos?

Thanks for the link but I actually have the book that shows the same thing except the links from amazon unfortunately doesn't show the tools and what they do. Thanks anyways. I was able to find a site that shows the list of tools like in the book but better in one single page. I just wish I knew what my professor meant by "concepts" and "skills" since there could be a variety of these but what?

Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 classroom in a book lesson files "file format not supported" error message

Hey y'all. I have the creative Suite cloud membership and am learning Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and have the latest update. I have an iMac, version 10.8.2 and have been going through the lessons 1-8 so far from the 'Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 Classroom in a book' with no problems. So far so good. Then, when I opened Lesson 9 project today, I realized that certain media was off line (see pic below-videos and maps) even though I had been able to open the project. I tried to see if it was a link issue but was unable to select the 'Link Media' option and the system did not give me the option to link media when opening a new project. The strange thing is that I am now able to open some lessons with everything working fine but when I try to open other lessons such as lesson 9 or 10 or 11 I notice media files offline after getting the "file format not supported" pop-up error message when attempting to open a project. It's random as some lessons I had opened previously now give this error message of file format not supported when they didn't in the past whilst others work. I have deleted all the lesson files from my hard drive and reinstalled them from the cd onto my hardrive but the issue persists. Any idea as to why all of a sudden Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 is giving the error message "File format not supported"??? when opening the lessons. I have not changed any preferences. I've included some screenshots though I don't know how much help they will be... Is anyone else running into this issue??? Can anyone help???
NEVERMIND. I FOUND OUT ON MY OWN WHAT THE ISSUE WAS AND IS NOW FIXED. YAY!

Why were you trying to link a file in the project to the project file itself? Shouldn't it be a video file or something? Like .mov .wav .avi .mp4 and not .prproj

Dreamweaver CS6 Classroom in a Book Lesson 4 gaps on webpage?

Hi Folks.
I'm working from the Dreamweaver CS6 Classroom in a Book and I'm at the start of the main official course, lesson 4, where I start to make the GreenStart website. I have just completed the lesson, it was very informative and I really enjoyed it, but I have a slight problem. There is a gap beween my header at the top where the logo is and the vertical navigation bar and main content area. And there is a gap between the vertical nagivation bar and main content area and the footer a the bottom. The insert image tool on the forum here doesn't seem to work so here is a link to where I've uploaded it to my webspace,

I don't know why I have these gaps or how to remove them. Any feedback appreciated.

Paragraphs have default margin and padding set as do all the heading tags h1 h2 h3 etc so you have to be aware of this when constructing a page.

Photoshop CS5 Classroom in a book lesson 13

Hi,
Will somebody help me. In lesson 13 of Classroom in a book PS CS5 you learn to make html-files in PS CS5. After creating a file you are asked to pre-run it with Bridge. Rightclick and then open with a browser. I can't open this just made file (html) in Explorer or any other browser. My PS opens and is restricted to Word only..... What is wrong?? Has this something to do with PS or....???
I solved the problem for now by using Dreamweaver (Web-preview) instead but it's annoying....

Sorry for my late response, I did the first option. That worked but is not what I like.
The second suggestion you made gave: HTML listed "Windows explorer".
Do I have to change that to Photoshop CS5 or.....

Each version of Adobe products builds upon the previous ones. Some things like filters and advanced features may evolve or become deprecated over time, but the basic tools have remained pretty much the same for decades. As long as you know there are subtle differences between versions, I think you will still get a great deal of value from C in a B for CS6.

cause learned a lot of things. That particular book along with the CD gives you the proper practice step by step. Unfortunatelly I already went through that book twice and I would like to know of a similar book that comes with a CD and you get step by step instructions to practice photoshop.

I buy a lot of computer books. When I purchased Dreamweaver CS5 at Adobe.com there was a offer for a free 30 day subscription to lynda.com
When I was using the 30 day demo of Dreamweaver CS5 I was search and reading book reviews for Dreamweaver so If I decided to purchase Dreamweaver (I did end up purchasing it) I would know what book/books I should purchase to go with it.
After just a few days of using my free 30 day trial of lynda.com I paid for a subscription to the site. I have learned so much about Dreamweaver and now Fireworks from lydna.com in the first few weeks of working with the adobe programs and it only cost as much (or even less) then a lot of books on Dreamweaver or Fireworks.
I will still be purchasing books for the adobe programs for future references, but lynda.com sure is a great way to get a jump start on learning a product that was completely new to me.
I highly recommend you give lynda.com a try.

I just purchased ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS2 'Classroom in a Book'

When I received the 'used' book yesterday in the mail, I was dismayed to discover that the lesson CD was missing. Anybody have any thoughts on how I can get a copy of the CD or download the lessons from someplace. Thus far I haven't heard back from the provider. Thanks in advance.
P.S. Willing to pay for a copy of the CD, otherwise the book is worthless.

Purchased the CS version, used from a campus bookstore. The CD was there, but upon loading, it was damaged. No cleaning would help. Next day, a complete replacement was given.
Now, that was at a "brick-n-mortar" bookstore, so it will be up to the seller to work with you on this one. I'd contact them and ask about the disc. They may have just forgotten to put it into the package. I always take mine out, and put them into many 4-disc packages. It would be possible, should I sell one of my copies, that I might not really think about it, and do the same, as your seller. In my case, I'd quickly apologize, and make ammends with free rapid shipping.
