Adobe photoshop cs6 lags in my 2 month old macbook pro retina

hi, i had bought a mbp retina 15' 2 months ago. i have installed photoshop cs6 extended. but there was a lag while zooming, while moving the image when zoomed, when using brush, responce comes after 1-3 seconds the command has given. Sometimes i need to click on a side and then only photoshop responds to the given command. I thought updating my photoshop would fix the problem. i have updated my photoshop version to 13.0.6. I dont think it should lag in a pc like mbp.
thnks for help in advance.

Hello, could you please post the contents of help>system info? so that we can see how Ps is setup?
Also, what are the dimensions of the image in pixels, number of layers? does it have smart objects?

  • Trade in value, 10 month old Macbook Pro Retina w/ WIFI issues?

I have a late 2013 Macbook Pro, Retina, upgraded memory from base model, 256 of awesome Samsung PCI-IE storage with the apparently very common wireless card issue. Web pages don't load, erratic ping times and high packet loss. It was purchased at an Apple store.
What is the common scenario one would expect if they simply want the new model, or would I be making an assumption that the wireless card issue was resolved at some point?
As a consumer, what would you expect?

I would have expected that you would exercise your warranty. We are only users like you. No one here can be expected to know what your scenario would be like. But every day you waste on these forums is one day less remaining on your warranty.

  • Photoshop is lagging really badly in my 13in Macbook Pro.

Photoshop is lagging really badly in my 13in Macbook Pro. Simple operations like selecting a tool, or just any click take up to 5min to complete. I looked in the force quit menu and it tells me that the program is not responding. I tried re-starting my laptop, even uninstalling the program. When I installed it again the problem got worse as when it loads the rainbow wheel shows up, not letting me do anything. Currently I'm on the trial version. Maybe the problem will fix itself if I buy a plan?

Not really. You have to look at things.
System requirements | Photoshop to start with. See how your Macbook measures up
Verify your disk and Repair Permissions with disk utility.
Be sure you are updated to 2014.2.2
Then see if there are bad fonts or third party plugins.

    Hi A,
You have 3 months of free AppleCare phone support, and a 1 year hardware warranty. If I was concerned about anything on my new MBP, I'd contact Apple.

  • Six-month-old MacBook Pro acting up.

    Hello,
My mid-2012 13-inch MacBook Pro is running very slow and hot now. Sometimes, it speeds up a little but it msotly is very slow. It booted up to a sort of "question mark/folder" logo on Friday - right after I brought it home from AppleCare - but now it's working, but only barely. This Mac is relatively new - I purchased it about six months ago - and seems to be in a good condition (no scratches, dents, etc. though that probably doesn't mean much). I don't think I use it very heavily at all. I use it for school and that's about it - the most it's subjected to is the daily commute to and from school, which I think laptops are supposed to be able to handle. However, the computer has a history of technical issues, all of which had to be solved by the same Apple Authorized Service Center that was mentioned earlier:
July 19th - Same problem as this time. SATA cable was replaced.
September 3rd - Severe lag and overheating with one application running. Hard disk and front hard disk bracket were replaced.
October 4th (Friday) - Again, same problem as this time. Operating system was re-installed.
What is wrong with my Mac? Could this be a defective unit by any chance?
Any help would be much appreciated. :-)

  • One month old macbook pro got hang(freeze) once, and kernel panic once: should i need to take some actions or its ok??

my macbook pro 13.3 (OS XLion 10.7.4) is one month old, few days ago  it got freezed(hanged) at that time only 2 apps were running google chrome and xcode, i pressed power button (hold it for few seconds) to restrat.
Today when i opened the lid(as my mac was on sleep for last one hour- no apps except finder was running) i saw an error like this "mac encountered an error hold your power button for few seconds to restart......blah blah..something in other languages too", i think some where it used the word "kernel panic".
After restart mac said "your computer restarted because of a reason", below i have copy pasted the reason.
Please suggest me its(this behavior is) okie or should i take it to apple center?, also to note i have never played any game on my mac. Can any body suggest me why this kernel panic happened by seeing the reason below.
Now i am afraid to leave my mac at sleep with unsaved data and that was the exact reason i shifted from windows to mac.

I have had a 15" Late 2011 model MBP since December and have never had a kernel panic.
If I do I would take it in for a check up.

  • My four-month-old macbook pro's battery when fully charged is now down to 2 hours life from 7...in the last week. Why?

I bought my macbook pro 13" about four months ago and have been in love with it ever since - especially as compared to my old PC laptop, the battery stays cool and lasts forever when I am working. Best charge was 7 hours. However, in the last week I have noticed the battery suddenly becoming hot when I unplug the charger, and the best length of time I can get on a full charge is 2 hours.
I have made sure all the settings are for prolonged battery life - which they've been since I first set up - and turned off all programmes running in the background, but this has not made any difference. I have been using iMovie a lot lately which takes a lot of battery which is probably why I didn't notice the battery being low as it automatically seems to make the battery slump to 2 hours when it's on. It's off now, and my battery won't improve.
I have also now followed the instructions (below) about calibrating, but this has had no effect. My housemate bought the same model a month ahead of me, uses it probably slightly less, but his is still 7 hours for a charge.
    Is my battery faulty?
    Calibration instructions used:
PowerBook G4 (15-inchDouble-Layer SD), MacBook (all models), MacBook Pro (all models), and MacBookPro (17-inch) (all models)
Thebattery calibration for the PowerBook G4 (15-inch Double-Layer SD) and anymodel of MacBook or MacBook Pro has been updated because of a new batteryreleased with this computer. With these computers, follow these steps tocalibrate your battery:
Plug in the power adapter and     fully charge your PowerBook's battery until the light ring or LED on the     power adapter plug changes to green and the onscreen meter in the menu bar     indicates that the battery is fully charged.
Allow the battery to rest in the     fully charged state for at least two hours. You may use your computer     during this time as long as the adapter is plugged in.
Disconnect the power adapter while     the computer still on and start running the computer off battery power.     You may use your computer during this time. When your battery gets low,     the low battery warning dialog appears on the screen.
At this point, save your     work.  Continue to use your computer; when the battery gets very low,     the computer will automatically go to sleep.
Turn off the computer or allow it     to sleep for five hours or more.
Connect the power adapter and     leave it connected until the battery is fully charged again.
Tip:When the battery reaches "empty", the computer is forced into sleepmode. The battery actually keeps back a reserve beyond "empty", tomaintain the computer in sleep for a period of time. Once the battery is trulyexhausted, the computer is forced to shut down. At this point, with the safesleep function introduced in the PowerBook G4 (15-inch Double-Layer SD)computers, the computer's memory contents have been saved to the hard drive. When power is restored, the computer returns itself to its pre-sleep stateusing the safe sleep image on the hard drive.

  • I need to upgrade my Mac, is there anyway I can swap my 4 month old Macbook Pro for a iMac or something with a bit more kick? (for video editing)

I would ideally like to upgrade to a new model iMac, as they and my Macbook Pro 15inch, only 4 months old go for about the same price.
Is there any way I can do this through Apple or would I have to go about it in another way. I would like to minimise spending and ideally would not like to buy a completely new computer. What I'm asking, really, is if I can trade the two?

No you cannot trade in. Sell you MBP on eBay for the best value. The best 'bang for your buck' currently offered directly from Apple is their certified refurbished machines:

  • My trackpad is not working, (4 month old macbook pro)

I have a 4 month brand-new macbook pro which is not heavily used at all, one day my trackpad is working fine, today it is moving around extremely erratically, switching from screen to screen, going to mission control with only one finger swipe etc. I cannot use it at all, I have to use a plug-in mouse. I have checked all my rpeferences for trackpad and nothing has changed. How do I fix this? PLEASE HELP!

Since you are under warranty, you best recourse and guarantee of results is to take it to an Apple store or repair facility.
    Ciao.

  • X Through battery icon, no LED light on MagSafe, 2 month old Macbook Pro

This all started this afternoon. I noticed a black X through the battery icon in the upper tool bar, then noticed that there was no LED light on the MagSafe charger. The fan on my computer was also constantly running. This computer is only TWO months old. Since day one I have run the battery down before re-charging. This should have properly calibrated the battery.
Is there some simple fix for this or do I have to take time out of my life during the holiday season, trek to the mall and pray that someone at the genius bar has time to resolve this issue? Hoping there is a saint here somewhere to help me out

    MamaGG:
    Call Apple Care (800) 275-2272.
Your computer is warranted for 1 year for Hardware and for 3 mos, I believe, for free phone tech support.
They may have you take it to the Apple Store near you for the "genius" to work on it.
Have you Serial Number handy. Locate it from the "Apple Icon" drop down menu on the left and side of the upper title Bar and open up "About this Mac" and open up "more info" and then "Hardware".
They have the best support in the industry.
Meanwhile consider getting the Apple Care Add on package for the MB Pro. It extends this Hardware coverage for 3 years and provides free Apple Care Phone Tech support for that time.
I have had it on all my Macs which I have owned. The phone support is well worth it.

  • Logicboard crash in 3 months-old Macbook pro

I have just bought my Macbook pro 3 months ago.
Two weeks ago, suddenly crashed on the screen. Brought it to the service, and they told us that the problem is the Logicboard. They changed it with new Logicboard.
My question is: how can this happen? Can this happen again?
is it the defect from the manufacture?
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

    Hi q,
Anything can "break" a second after it was manufacturered. Yes, it can happen again, with that logic board, with that Mac, with any other Mac, with any other PC, etc. I am not aware that Apple has announced any recalls or repair programs for the current generation of MBPs.

  • My month-old MacBook Pro 13in freezes all the time

I don't know what the deal is, every time I watch videos on websites other than YouTube, such as Hulu, or download I guess what could be considered relatively hearty software i.e. Photoshop, or end a Skype call, my computer freezes. Like entirely. I can't move the cursor, no sound, and I have to manually reboot the system with the on/off button so that I can use it again. It started doing this maybe the third day I had it, but I didn't take it up with Apple initially because I didn't realize that the problem would become chronic. I've taken it to the Genius Bar twice and they have yet to shed much light other than offer the theory that Flash Player may be outdated or in need of being reinstalled, and I've done that; no luck. I had Apple keep the computer for a few days to run diagnostics but they told me nothing in regards to anyhting being wrong with it. This is beyond frustrating. Any ideas? I'll be back at Apple tomorrow to give it yet another go.

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
If you have an optical drive, make sure there is no disc in it.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes) in the search box. Note the timestamps of those log messages, which refer to the times when the system was booted. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time when you had the problem. Post the messages logged during the time something abnormal was happening. That time might be before or after the boot.
For example, if the problem is a slow startup taking three minutes, post the messages timestamped within three minutes after the boot time, not before. If the problem is a system crash or shutdown failure, post the messages from before the boot time, when the system was about to crash or was failing to shut down. In either case, please include the BOOT_TIME message at the beginning or the end of the log extract.
Post the log text, please, not a screenshot. If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.
    Step 2
Still in Console, look under System Diagnostic Reports for crash or panic logs, and post the most recent one, if any. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

  • My one-month old MacBook Pro won't connect to the internet?

I called the service provider, it is neither our modem nor our internet. The PCs in the house work fine, but a couple housemates and myself own Macbooks, and although they find the network, they do not connect. I've heard it's just some problem that randomly occurs for Macbook users and has no actual solution other than luck. I was wondering if this is a false rumour, and how to go about fixing it? I've reset the modem, router, and computer multiple times to no avail.  If this is true, I will be the first one in line to sell my Macbook Pro back.

    Hello Rattisate,
Sorry to hear you are not able to connect to Wi-Fi on your MacBook Pro.  I would be concerned about this too.  You can find information on how to troubleshoot this in the following article:
Troubleshooting Wi-Fi issues in OS X Lion and Mac OS X v10.6
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4628
Follow the steps in the section labeled, "Symptom: My Mac does not connect to the Internet."
Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Sheila M.
