Hi,
On Win go to
For Windows (32 bit), copy the Import-Export folder from:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 12\Optional Plug-Ins\
into
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 12\Plug-Ins\
For Windows (64 bit), copy the Import-Export folder from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 12\Optional Plug-Ins\
into
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 12\Plug-Ins\
*The version number is 11 or 12, depending on the Photoshop version you have installed.
On mac
copy the ImportModules folder from:
//Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements <version number>/Support Files/Optional Plug-Ins
into
//Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements <version number>/Support Files/Plug-Ins
Now launch PSE and check if it works.
Alternatively,
Try resetting the PSE preferences by
   1. Close Elements.
   2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Edit.
   3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
- Disable any anti-virus software just to confirm if it is not blocking PSE Editor.
In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall.

Having installed an upgrade for Photoshop Elements 13, I cannot open the application. I get an error message saying "Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X".
I have since uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but get the same error message.

Which version of OS X do you have? It's not clear from your post whether "installed an upgrade" means you just installed PSE 13 as an upgrade or you installed an update to PSE 13, like ACR 9 or 13.1. Please clarify.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 will not open photo files

You are rude, to say the least.  It is adobe's fault for marketing it as compatible.  Yet another reason why I want nothing to do with adobe.  The fact they marketed it as compatible when it is not is what I have a problem with.  I am not blaming the software, I am blaming the company.

    Hi,
Which operating system are you running on?
Try starting the organizer while holding down the shift key.  Hopefully, it should load the Catalog Manager.
Select your current catalog and click on the Repair button. Once it has finished, click on the Open button to see if the catalog opens.
    Good luck,
    Brian

  • I purchased adobe photoshop elements 12 and cannot open organizer on my macbook pro 7.1  Any suggest

i purchased adobe photoshop elements 12 and cannot open organizer on my macbook pro 7.1  Any suggestions?

After I successfully install the adobe photoshop elements 12 for mac, I try to open organizer and a window pops up that says
"Adobe Elements 12 Organizer cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure Adobe Elements 12 Organizer works with this version of Mac OSX. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and Mac OSX. Click report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple."
I have checked for any updates on my Mac and it is up to date.
I have tried reloading and am still getting the same result.
I can open Editor, but not Organizer.
I am running Mac OSX version 10.6.2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor with 4 GB  memory, all standard stuff that came in the computer and I have no security software running when I do this.
Any idea why it is not working?
    Thanks, Victor

  • Adobe photoshop elements 12 will not open photo editor crashes every time.

My elements 12 does the same thing I have seen written here over and over. Can not open editor, crashes every time. It is updated, reinstalled and administrator is set. Does anyone from Adobe read these boards?

I asked you to try that because one thing that often happens is that the dock icon gets corrupted, and it's best to get the simple obvious problems out of the way first.
What do you mean by "several students"? Is this in a classroom situation? Are these computers all on a school intranet together? We tend to assume here that you are talking about a personal version and a problem with your own computer, not an institutional installation, unless you specify otherwise.
If this is your personal computer, the next thing to do is to delete the prefernces. Go to your username>library>preferences and delete:
    com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 settings
    Adobe Photoshop Elemetns 12 paths
and any lockfiles with the same names. To see the user library in 10.9, option click the Go menu in the Finder and it will appear below the little house for your user account. While you're in the library, go to the saved application states folder and delete anything in there for PSE.
    Repair permissions and try again.

  • Adobe photoshop elements won't download updates

I recently installed adobe photoshop elements on my MacBook. Whenever I open the application, it automatically tries to update. I get this dialog box.
An error occured while attempting to download a file from the adobe online web server. The request was not understood by the server HTTP #400 Bad request.
Not only can it not download updates, it freezes my whole machine and I have to force a manual shut down by pressing on the power button for 5 seconds. In short, I can only use Photoshop Elements when I am not connected to the web.
I've also had trouble downloading Adobe Reader for pdf documents. I have no trouble on my PC. This seems very strange since Mac and Adobe are good friends.

    Hi famo-sa,
adobe and apple are truly good friend, but it also depend on what version of both that try to communicate each other.
First, 400 bad request is happen more because of browser send something that other end server cannot understand, for that, you can try to disable automatic update check on element and try to find updater using other browser.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=40&platform=Macintosh
And maybe since the elements is not universal yet, failed to do the update make your intel mac crash.
Try to repair permission: application folder > utilities folder > disk utility > repair permission.
and try to download reader from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
    Good Luck.

  • Adobe photoshop elements suddenly refused to open (launch)

I had purchased Photoshop Elements 12 Editor for my mac laptop perhaps 1 or 2 months ago. It worked fine until last night. It suddenly keep saying "your application quit unexpectedly, do you want to re-open?" Either reopening or saying cancel and just open the application, both show the same result. It would repeatedly say "your application quit unexpectedly, do you want to re-open". I cannot photoshop to open at all. I deleted the app and downloaded new one again. It's still not working. I am really puzzled at why it suddenly quit working. Any help to get it up and running would be really great as I really need to use it for my son's school's event. Thanks

Reinstalling is not the way to fix these things, usually. First go to your user library and delete:
    com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Paths
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Settings
    com.adobe.Elements Organizer.12.0.plist
    com.adobe.ElementsOrganizer12.plist
and any lockfiles with the same names, then  go to Saved Application States (at the same level as preferences) and delete any for PSE, then repair permissions and launch PSE again.
To see the User library, click the Go menu in the Finder and hold down the Option key and it will appear below the little house for your user account.

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 does not open in OS X 10.10 Yosemite

Ever since I  upgraded to OS X 10.10 Yosemite, Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 crashes immediately upon launch. The system generates a report that Apple receives. However, it states to contact the developer of the app. I already deleted and reinstalled the app. I need help getting Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 to work again. I barely have a year with it, so it is shocking to think that Adobe is already dropping support on a program that is barely 1 or 2 versions old. Thanks.

    please see this discussion.

  • Adobe Reader 11 won't stay open

I am on an Asus N series computer. I put on the Adobe Reader on my computer because I like it better then what was installed. Everytime I open the program, it loads and then disappears. I can't get it to stay open to use it. I am using Windows 7 home Premium x64. Please tell me how to get this program to work? I have installed and uninstalled this to try to get it to work.

Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try to disable Protected Mode (Edit | Preferences | Security (Advanced)).
If not, you may need to change the setting in the registry; do you know how to use regedit?
The value that needs to be changed is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\11.0\privileged\bProtectedMode from 1 to 0.
Be sure you make a registry backup or System Restore Point before editing the registry.  If you are unsure how to proceed, I can make a little procedure for you to change that value.

  • Adobe Reader XI Won't Stay Open

I have Windows 7, use avast! antivirus, and explorer.  Computer hard drive had to be replaced recently by Dell.  When I got it back, I installed Reader right away.  At first, it gave me the same problems I have now - but eventually a file I tried to load asked for permission and I was able to tell it to always allow Reader to load.  After that, the PDF's loaded fine.  Then there was an update and ever since, it doesn't work.  If I simply try to load Reader - it will open for a few seconds, then close without any error messages.  If I try to open any PDF files online, it acts like it's trying to load them but never does.  Again, no error messages.  I have tried loading lots of different PDF files, but never been asked for permission again.  I have tried using the Adobe tool to remove all old versions and reinstall.  I have tried registry keys given in other discussions.  I have run several malware programs.  I am at a total loss at this point.  And I *really* need my Reader, as I have tons of files that are PDF (like my taxes).  Thanks SO much for any help you can give!

You can try using Windows Explorer to navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, then double-click on Eula.exe and accept the license agreement

  • Adobe Reader XI won't stay open in Windows 7; Solutions don't work

My Adobe reader was working fine under Windows 7 and all of a sudden it stopped working.  It opens, starts opening a file and before it finishes opening the file, it closes. I have unstalled Adobe Reader XI using the Adobe Cleaner Tool provided on the community board website and reinstalled it from the Adobe.com website.  I also went to the eula.exe file and clicked accept which was a suggestion on the community board. Please help

    Other things you could try...
    Update Reader to 11.0.5
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
If you cannot open Reader by itself, try to disable Protected Mode in the registry; download, unzip, then run the attached registry script
It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html
