Adobe photoshop elements 4.0 on win 8
Elements currently runs on Windows XP. What happens if I try to install it on windows 8.0? It contains all the function I need.

How do I download Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 English Version Win 7? The web site on Adobe does not give me the option to download a English Version.

After re-installing Win 7 64 on my computer, and attempting to install my copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements, I now get the following message: "This version of Photoshop Elements requires MS Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher to be installed". Does anyone have an idea of what the problem is? It has always worked in the past.
I have found a temporary solution, allowing the previous version of iTunes (v. 11.1.3 (x64) in my case) to be re-installed. It will allow you to re-establish use of iTunes until the Apple software engineers fix the most recent disasterous upgrade (v. 11.1.4). Photos = Adobe Photoshop Elements (Win-XP) capability / restrictions?
a-TV supposedly can sync with Adobe Photoshop Elements on Windows for its photo library. Which Elements 5.0 features are supported and will show/play right via the a-TV, and which are restricted?
e.g.
- Can I create slideshows in Elements?
- Have the same photo in multiple slideshows?
- Use multiple tags per photo to group into slideshows?
- Use Elements Pan / Zoom / Text in slideshows?
I don't have Elements (use the MS suite), but would switch over for a-TV. Any bad experiences with Elements, particularly the photo Organizer tools?
ThanksI have Elements and consider myself a basic to intermediate user. I took all my 4k plus photos and put them into categories (ie, Christmas 2002, 2003, 1st Birthday, Trip to XYZ, etc). This took several hours but proved to be well worth it as the ATV picks these categories up. I do wish the ATV could let you see thumbnails of your folders in case I am looking for a particular picture but the categories is what I mainly use anyway. Now when I load pics from my camera to my pc I just immediately put them in a category or two. I'm not sure about slideshows as the categories accomplished the same thing. I think you can pick the same photo for multiple categories. Events does not seem to be recognized by ATV.

I just got an imac and I want to import my old photos and adobe photoshop element tags from my windows machine. I want to keep the tags the same. Does any one have any suggestions?
-DYes, use File>Write tags and properties to file and Elements should pick up the metadata keywords this creates. However, if you have raw files or tiffs from an epson scanner, the metadata creation can be unreliable.

Can't Download Photos to Adobe Photoshop Elements after iPhone Upgrade
Howdy, I have been using Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 with my iPhone ever since I bought my iPhone 3G when they came out and have never had any trouble. Whenever I synced my phone and there were new photos on it, Photoshop Elements would start it's photo downloader program and let me download the pics from my phone and put them in the organizer. Then it would let me delete them.
But this weekend I took a bunch of photos and now Photoshop Elements startes up during the sync as usual, but before it lets me download any pictures I get a message from Photoshop Elements saying "Downloader needs to close" (or something like that) and I never get the chance to download the pictures. The only way I have to get the pictures off my phone right now is to mail them as attachments.
A few days ago I upgraded to the 2.2 iPhone software and I was wondering if this might be the source of the problem. Has anyone else heard of any problems like this?I'm having the same problem with Elements 6.0. The downloader starts up and I can see the first few pictures in the downloader before the error message comes up and the downloader must shut down. The only way to get pictures off the phone is through Win Explorer. But, when you try to remove the pics off the phone (i.e. move or delete) the phone reboots. The only way to remove the pics is one at a time on the phone itself.
It is extremely frustrating that Apple has created a decent way to sync music and video, but no iTunes way to handle pictures. Honestly I amazed that Apple has worked so hard to be the standard for music, etc. that they just leave it to the consumer to figure out the picture stuff. Come on Apple. -
Installation of Photoshop Elements 12 fails on Win 8.1, 64bit
Hello.
The Installation of Photoshop Elements 12 fails on Win 8.1, 64bit.
Clost to the end of the installation I get the message: There is an error at the installation of the "shared used technologies" (translation) and the uninstaller starts automatically.
System: Asus A7v5 Laptop, Win 8.1, 64 bit, German, 8 GB RAM
I tried it 3 times. Also after fresh restart.
The first time even the un-installer routine failed and left me with a system on which it was neither possible to run the installer again - un-installer started automatically - nor to un-install the product.
The failure log does not show any error. (Log below)
Any help would be appreciated.

I did uninstall Adobe Air, Adobe Reader XI and another Adobe product, rebooted, and after this the installation was possible with no problems! -
I AM TRYING TO INSTAL THE ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENT 10, IN A NEW APPLE COMPUTER, BUT IT COMES A NOTE SAYING THAT THE INSTALATION WAS NOT ABLE TO INITIALIZE, AND THAT I SHOULD DOWNLOAD THE ADOBE SUPPORT ADVISOR TO DETECT THE PROBLEM. I DID IT BUT IT SAYS THAT IS HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED,

if you're using a dvd to install:
copy the disc contents to a desktop directory and install from that directory.
if you're using a mac:
1. Try to Create a new user account in Mac with Administrator Priviledges.
2. Login to the New user, Navigate to Mac HD> Application> Utilities> Adobe Installer folder, Locate products like Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air and un-install them
3. Navigate to User Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
4. Navigate to Mac HD> Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
5. Start the installation again.

Im having problems installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.
The wizard was interrupted before Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 could be installed.No changes were made to your system please try at another time.Same for premier.
I did everything that was listed on the troubleshooting page, chkdsk, clean boot, etc. There is nothing wrong. Any help would be appreciated. These are the trial versions

I just purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 but my PC is not recognizing my CDRom and I cannot download the program. I tried copying the files on the program disc to my hard drive but get a message the installer will not work. I have the redemption code and serial numbers. Can I download the program online somewhere? If I download a trial version for instance will it allow me to enter my serial number and use it for the full program?

Installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 to new pc
This year I had to purchase a new pc/program Microsoft Windows 8 and cannot load my older version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 on it. I wanted to use this photoshop tool to edit pictures. Just the basic program will do for me. I have the reg. no. plus the cd but can't seem to get anything to work. Can anyone give me suggestions or will I have to contact support when they open tomorrow.

FrancesNope, won't work, not even with compatibiliy mode for Win XP most likely. Consider upgrading to PSE. Otehrwise there's enough free tools out there. Image viewers like IrfanView and XnView can easily do cropping and color corrections, tools like GIMP offer retouche options that far surpass what PSE 2 had back then...

Background Task on Adobe Photoshop Elements and Adobe Premiere Elements Organizer "hangs"
I recently upgraded my software from Elements 10 to Elements 12 and had a bit of trouble. Apparently both 10 and 12 have a way of launching an executable in the background which tends to get "stuck" on my system. I believe the problem may be related to the network configuration and software mix I live with, but I need to confirm my suspecions and find a way to control the problem. Here is what I know... I have always experienced a lot of problems using Elements with my NAS device which is a 1TB usb 2.0 connected disk system attached to my Linksys E3000 Router. When I got the router, the BIOS software did not correctly support NTFS file systems, but subsequent updates eventually made this possible if you formatted the removable drive on a system in NTFS, you could then hang it on the router and "see" the contents, serve them via Windows Media Player, or iTunes, etc., etc. from a computer atteched to the network, or via wirless directly off the router. I archived all my photos out on this file system and have successfully indexed it for use with Adobe Photoshop Elements and Adobe Premiere Elements Organizer, but... When I went to install Elements 12 software I tried to install it without first removing Elements 10, and on a system which had run Elements 10 since the last full reoboot. During the install of 12 under "shared services install" the installation process "Hung" on a background task with a name like "AdobeElementsAnalyzer.exe" which only shows up in Windows 7 task manager as a running process, not as a full program, but because the file was locked by the system, the install hung. I eventually figured out that I needed to start the install of Elements 12 software immediately after having rebooted so that this program was not present in the background, and succeeded in completing an install of Elements 12 on my Windows 7 X64 system. This system required a "special" software download for Premiere Elements, but not for Photoshop Elements which is only apparently avaliable under 32bit emulation mode. I finally got the "shared components" portion of the X64 Premiere Elements to complete an install, and then set about verifying the onversion/upgrade of the indexes to my photos and video stored out on the NAS. The same rogue task which prevented me from doing the install showed up agian, taking all the system resources away from my dual processor Intel chip and refusing to let go. I was forced to terminate it from the task manager. I strongly suspect that my "issues" are in part due to the extrordinary network latency imposed by the drive connection I'm using to index my photos and videos, and I'm looking for a better approach to using the editors against my master catalog of files, as well as figruing out just what I need to do to insure that all the files I have stored on the drive are accessible by the organizer when I need to pull a copy to work on.
A complication is that I have two "legacy" Windows XP systems on my network, a reasonably fast Windows Vista Business desktop, and the Windows 7 X64 processor system which is the most powerful system I have. The Windows file security enhancements to NTFS changed from XP, to Vista, to Windows 7, so files which get saved to the NAS disk inherit a variety of different levels of security under windows. I have occasionally gone to one of my old XP boxes and "wiped" the security settings by resetting everything via Windows XP. Because the NAS is so slow, this process can take several hours and must not be interrupted by attempts to do anything affecting the NAS by any of my other networked computers. To avoid problems with my photo archive, it makes sense to me to do all my editing on copies which have been extracted from the NAS archive and stored on the C: drive (boot drive) of my Win X64 system.
What I seriously need to know is this: When/If I define a "watched" portion of my file system, rather than taking the time to manually import every little change to my photo archives, can I expect the Photoshop Elements Organizer to work properly as long as everything stored on the NAS is stored via the same system which runs Elements with the same active "user" in control so that all the windows 7 file security settings putting stuff on the mapped NAS drive remain properly secured under Win 7 X64? Frankly I don't care if the files appear "read only" to every other system and identity on my network, but I do need to be able to "see" them. I have been able to view slide shows and movies stored on the NAS via both my networked iPad, my Apple TV, and using Samsung's funky android and Windows compatible software. Frankly, I doubt that Microsoft or Apple has full understanding and control of the environment where there is no host "server" other than the eprom based stuff my Linksys E3000 loads to emulate early Windows Media Management architecture, but I mange to get it to work as long as I don't try anything sophisticated with the file permissions. As a fall back, can I expect individual "imported" bits out on the NAS to remain stable if indexed and used only by the Elements Organizer running on my Win 7 X64 system?
I am seriously considering converting an old WinXP desktop into a UNIX box which could be configured as a "Server" for everything stored on the NAS and be done with my problems in return for the power required to run the server all the time so stuff is there when I need it. Any recommendations?

But reports are starting to trickle in that PSE 7 works fine on Windows 7 for most people, though a couple people have reported crashes. My PSE 7 seems to work fine, though I primarily use PSE 8 now. This is all very preliminary, and we'll learn more as more people post here.

I purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 a few months ago, and have now recently purchased a new computer with Windows 8. Windows 8 is not listed on the systems requirements on the package, so I am wondering if I can still used the program that I purchased and download it into the the new computer, or if there is an update patch I can get?
