Adobe photoshop elements 6. Error setup 1402

I cannot reinstall Adobe photoshop Elements 6 (CD) in my system OS Windows 7. The setup displays the following message;
error 1402 Could not open key UNKNOW\component\DA42BC*************************\*************834F
verify that you have suficient acces to that key, or contact you support personnel.

I think after resetting the preferences PSE should work fine.

I reformated the hard drive on my HP Pavillion a6120n and am now reinstalling my adobe photoshop elements and I get an error code of -115.
How do I proceed?

At what step during the installation are you getting that error?
In general, use Task Manager to close any running applications before installing.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 Error after disk install

I have a windows 7 64 bit system, I purchased Elements both Photoshop and Premiere 11 disks. After install without incident, Premiere works fine, but Photoshop gives me this message upon opening the program. Adobe Photosp Elements 11 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. It closes the program and no solution suggested. I have waited twice on tech support phone, and once with online help, I have been disconnected on the phone support, and online could not help me. This is a new product I have not been able to use. The last time I purchased version 10 and it never worked. Now I see right after buying version 11, 12 is now available and I still can't use Photoshop elements. Can someone please help. I have reviewed all the similar issues on the help site, none of the suggestions worked.

This did not answer my question or solve the problem. As I stated in the original email, I had tried all the solutions posted earlier.
I DO NOT even get to open the program, before the message, getting to the editor is not the problem, getting the program to open is the problem. The error message comes while PSE 11 is loading, but not open. Please send a solution ! Thank you, Rebecca Stone

Adobe Photoshop Elements 12-Error 213:5

I sucessfully installed Elements 12 on my Mac Mini OS 10.9.2. Elements Organizer ran without a problem. On trying to launch Photoshop Elements 12 I received the error message Error 213:5. After reading through discussions from folks having the same or similar problem and trying the various suggestions given in those discussions I gave up and decided to post the problem again in hopes someone might help. Here is what I have done so far: Repaired permissions, Uninstalled all older Elements, Made sure permissions in the Library ->Application Support->Adobe were set to read & write, Uninstalled Elements 12 and re-installed it, even copied the installer package onto my hard drive and used that to install, re-started the computer numerous times (i.e., after each change was made). When I try to launch Photoshop Elements 12 I continue to get this screen

Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 error message on reinstall

My Photoshop Elements 6 stopped responding so I removed it and tried to reinstall with my disc. It begins installation, then I get an error message "Key not valid for use in specified state," and ends the installation. I have had this program for several years, upgraded to Elements 12 and did not like the new format so went back to Elements 6. I was not given an opportunity to enter my validation key if, in fact, that is what the message means. Can anyone help me?

The serial number is not referred to as a key. Generally, if you are on Windows, a Key would refer to a registry key. This could mean that there is some part of Elements left on your system in the Registry and preventing a reinstall. Follow this list and remove all the remaining pieces (change the version number from 9 to 6): Manually remove Photoshop Elements 9 | Windows

PaDenis which operating system are you using? Have you tried removing and reinstalling the application? If so do you receive an error message?

Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 - Setup

I have been trying to get past an installation error I am getting trying to install Adobe Photoshop Elements 10. I have tried to redownload and install multiple times. I tried going to the registry and and editing permissions, but not sure if it applied correctly.
I am getting Error 1402. Could not open key:
UNKNOWN/Components/13FD83440E8F2304284FD0F33E956FEF\9FA945EEAAF84854382BC1FCBD91CFF. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

There have been made some changes in your registry setting that have caused permisson denied on registry. So can you try by login as Administrator and try to reinstall.
If this doesn't work go through this link . This is a generic help , "Beware changing in registry can cause application level or other system level issue".

Custom Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 deployment error

I am working on developing a custom MSI to deploy Photoshop Elements 8.0 in our company and I am getting the following error message:
Install adobe photoshop elements 8.0 using the setup.exe in the root folder
I was hoping someone could assist me with finding the correct property to add to the MSI (using Orca) so that I can get past this error and continue with the installation/deployment.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The idea of installing from the .msi file is to make the installation universal. If we create a custom .mst file to run with the "Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0.msi" file, it can be configured to automatically use the language selection previously configured in the Windows operating system. This makes it much easier to develope for our sites around the globe.

Three things you can try:
1. Clean the superdrive with a proprietory CD/DVD lens cleaner that uses tiny brushes.
2. Perform an SMC reset:

Any one else have Microsoft C++ runtime error in Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 (non cloud version)

I have been using Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 for 9 months successfully with no issues. Last night, for no reason, it stopped working , giving me a Microsoft C++ runtime error. I have tried every trouble shooting suggestion, including resetting the computer, deleting recent updates, disk cleanup, etc. I finally un installed the program, and when I attempted to re-install, it got almost to the end of the install, and then I get a message " The installation process encountered an error using Shared Technologies". Can anyone help me? Technical support for store bought copies of this program is non existant. It took me 2 hours to find a phone number that works and that was only for cloud users, and the only support they offer is a chat room , which disappeard from my screen this morning, and is no being offered at least today. I must have this program for my photography classes I take 2 x a week. Please help!

I have since uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but get the same error message.

Which version of OS X do you have? It's not clear from your post whether "installed an upgrade" means you just installed PSE 13 as an upgrade or you installed an update to PSE 13, like ACR 9 or 13.1. Please clarify.

Thank you for responding. Nothing actually worked! After reading the posts online, I called Apple. They indicated they have seen problems with some software after their upgrades. The technician was able to fix the problem on my computer remotely, but I have no clue what he did! But, it was definitely related to their recent upgrade to my computer.
