Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 Organizer stürzt immer ab!?

Hallo zusammen,

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements Organizer Stops Working due to Sony AVCHD files

Hello I installed Adobe Photoshop elements and have been having trouble with it crashing.
To solve this problem I deleted my Catalog and added a Catalog with only one folder.
This folder has photos, in JPEG and Sony .ARW format as well as AVCHD files.
I found that by removiing the AVCHD files from the catalog the SW would no longer crash.
This really is not a practical solution since my PC has many folders with many AVC files.
I am trying to see if there is a SW patch or another way to address this issue.
    Thanks,

It might work but this is not a practical solution.
I have many picture folders on my pc and several of these have AVC files.
My intention was to use Photo Shop Essentials to edit my pictures. Unfortunately the "Organizer" app crashes when trying to work with my Catalog.
I have narrowed it down to only happening when there are AVC files in my folders. I have seen others have this issue and I found the issue by what they recommended.
Sadly if I am unable to get this to work with my current folders I will have to dump Essentials for another application.

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements Organizer 12 opens minimized in taskbar

I have a user who uses Adobe Photoshop Elements 12.  It has been working fine up until a few weeks ago.  Now when goes to open the Organizer, it opens up minimized down in the taskbar.  When you hover over it, you can see the thumbnails of the pictures.  When you click on the icon on the taskbar, nothing happens.  I went to his computer and logged on as myself and was able to open the Organizer with his photos just fine.  I looked in the log file, but there wasn't anything in there.  I checked Windows Event Viewer, Application logs, no errors for Adobe Photoshop Elements.  I renamed the psa.prf file to psa.old, so it could re-create that file.  That didn't fix it.  His computer is running Windows 8.1 64-bit.  No changes were made to his computer between the time Organizer opened just fine and not when it stopped.  Any ideas?

    Hi,
On my Windows 8.1 system, if I right click on the icon in the task-bar, there isn't a Maximize option. If I hover over the icon and then right click on the thumbnail, I do get the Maximize option.
The other thing to try is to change the auto hide property of the task-bar - that may reveal the organizer.

  • Moving images from iPhoto 11 to Photoshop Elements Organizer

I understand that iPhoto 11 kept all images within the iPhoto Library.  In order to move them into the Adobe Photoshop Elements Organizer, they must be moved to the hard drive of the Mac and then imported into Elements 12 Organizer.
Is there any way to do this in one step?
    Mary Lou

If you want to keep the photos organized by the Events they are currently in use this export setup:
If you want to keep the keywords, titles and descriptions added in iPhoto change Kind to JPEG and set JPEG Quality to Maximum and check both checkboxes.

  • PLEASE HELP! Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 editor won't open!!

Hi! I'm new to the forums and to Adobe. So, I'm a little clueless about all this stuff.
    WELL
everytime I click my Photoshop icon the welcome screen appears and the editor begins to load.
However, the screen doesn't pop up at all. Just the welcome screen. It just shows the Photoshop Elements editor's small window on the bottom of my screen. I click on it and the editor doesn't show up at all.
It did this a couple of times before. But, now the editor isn't showing.
My organizer works just fine, but I'm wondering if I can somehow open Photoshop's editor on the organizer?
If you could please PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME and reply as soon as possible! I would love to draw  and color on Photoshop again as soon as I have fix this problem!
    Thank you so much!
    -Marley

Try making a direct desktop icon for the Organizer and Editor and that will bypass the welcome screen and any advertising.
On Windows right click on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
    Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Organizer application in Program Files or Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
Inside the Adobe >> Photoshop Elements Organizer (yellow folder) you are looking for an application file “PhotoshopEementsOrganizer” with six small icons (e.g. representing thumbnails)
    Select it and click OK
    Click next
Rename by taking out Photoshop Elements leaving just the word Organizer
    Then click finish
You should now be able to launch directly form the desktop by double clicking on the icon.
You can set up a similar direct link to the Editor application (.exe file which has the blue PSE icon). As before take out Photoshop Elements just leaving the description Editor and it will show up clearly on the desktop.
You can keep the standard Photoshop icon which links to the welcome screen but I prefer to delete it from the desktop. If you ever need to get to the welcome screen you simply click Window >>Welcome on the top menu when the application is open.

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 (Organizer) has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry

I have uninstalled and reinstalled and tried repairing, reorganizing the catalog but nothing seems to work.

    spartan@343 wrote:

You haven't said how are you starting the PSE?  There are many ways, of course, but the two main methods are:
    1) clicking on the desktop icon
    2) Start/Windows Logo >> All Programs > Adobe Photoshop Elements
Now I suggest use the second method and then go into Edit first.  Once you are in Edit, click on the Organizer icon on the top right corner.
This should start the organizer. Hopefully this would fix it forever when you exit from the PSE because the settings are normally saved on exit.

  • How can I repair organizer in adobe photoshop elements 6.0?

I ran the optimizer in Norton and after that I couldn't get to the organizer in adobe photoshop elements 6..  When I try to reinstall the program it says to "insert disc 1".  (I am sure you know because lots of people with adobe have this same problem) There is only on CD installation disc named Adobe Photoshop Elements 6. Like a dope I went to the welcome page and clicked it to open with the organizer (which is broken).  So now it sure won't open.  Before I got the message that it had to close and was so sorry!!
Now I would like to know if I can uninstall 6 and if I do will it come back exactly as it left or will it be repaired and would my slideshow still be there? I've  only spent a year making it and it was just about ready to make a DVD.
    Would appreciate any help.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!
I just uninstalled and re-installed as you suggested.  As far as I can tell everything is there. I got so happy with the uninstall & re-install   that I did the same for the Adobe Premiere Elements. As I said I have been working on family pictures slideshow (family pics that I only have one set of and want to give to 4 children) for almost a year.  I have put classical music to it (because that is what I like).  I have it ready to send to Premiere Elements to make a DVD.
You have saved me many hours of redoing. Thanks again.

  • Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 to Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer catalog conversion

I'm having trouble converting Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 catalog to Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer.  I get a Conversion Failed error which tells me to repair with the program that created it.  I have tried several things including deleting all .avi files from the catalog, deleting references to missing files and backing up then trying to convert from an external HD.  I'm running Vista Home Premium on a HP laptop.  The Organizer optimize and repair don't seem to help in this case.
Does anyone have any history with this or advice?

Please refer to following KB article which deals with catalog conversion failures:-

    Hi,
Which operating system are you running on?
Try starting the organizer while holding down the shift key.  Hopefully, it should load the Catalog Manager.
Select your current catalog and click on the Repair button. Once it has finished, click on the Open button to see if the catalog opens.

  • Background Task on Adobe Photoshop Elements and Adobe Premiere Elements Organizer "hangs"

I recently upgraded my software from Elements 10 to Elements 12 and had a bit of trouble.  Apparently both 10 and 12 have a way of launching an executable in the background which tends to get "stuck" on my system.  I believe the problem may be related to the network configuration and software mix I live with, but I need to confirm my suspecions and find a way to control the problem.  Here is what I know... I have always experienced a lot of problems using Elements with my NAS device which is a 1TB usb 2.0 connected disk system attached to my Linksys  E3000 Router.  When I got the router, the BIOS software did not correctly support NTFS file systems, but subsequent updates eventually made this possible if you formatted the removable drive on a system in NTFS, you could then hang it on the router and "see" the contents, serve them via Windows Media Player, or iTunes, etc., etc. from a computer atteched to the network, or via wirless directly off the router.  I archived all my photos out on this file system and have successfully indexed it for use with Adobe Photoshop Elements and Adobe Premiere Elements Organizer, but...  When I went to install Elements 12 software I tried to install it without first removing Elements 10, and on a system which had run Elements 10 since the last full reoboot.  During the install of 12 under "shared services install" the installation process "Hung" on a background task with a name like "AdobeElementsAnalyzer.exe" which only shows up in Windows 7 task manager as a running process, not as a full program, but because the file was locked by the system, the install hung.  I eventually figured out that I needed to start the install of Elements 12 software immediately after having rebooted so that this program was not present in the background, and succeeded in completing an install of Elements 12 on my Windows 7 X64 system.  This system required a "special" software download for Premiere Elements, but not for Photoshop Elements which is only apparently avaliable under 32bit emulation mode.  I finally got the "shared components" portion of the X64 Premiere Elements to complete an install, and then set about verifying the onversion/upgrade of the indexes to my photos and video stored out on the NAS.  The same rogue task which prevented me from doing the install showed up agian, taking all the system resources away from my dual processor Intel chip and refusing to let go.   I was forced to terminate it from the task manager.  I strongly suspect that my "issues" are in part due to the extrordinary network latency imposed by the drive connection I'm using to index my photos and videos, and I'm looking for a better approach to using the editors against my master catalog of files, as well as figruing out just what I need to do to insure that all the files I have stored on the drive are accessible by the organizer when I need to pull a copy to work on.
A complication is that I have two "legacy" Windows XP systems on my network, a reasonably fast Windows Vista Business desktop, and the Windows 7 X64 processor system which is the most powerful system I have.  The Windows file security enhancements to NTFS changed from XP, to Vista, to Windows 7, so files which get saved to the NAS disk inherit a variety of different levels of security under windows.  I have occasionally gone to one of my old XP boxes and "wiped" the security settings by resetting everything via Windows XP.  Because the NAS is so slow, this process can take several hours and must not be interrupted by attempts to do anything affecting the NAS by any of my other networked computers.  To avoid problems with my photo archive, it makes sense to me to do all my editing on copies which have been extracted from the NAS archive and stored on the C: drive (boot drive) of my Win X64 system.
What I seriously need to know is this:  When/If I define a "watched" portion of my file system, rather than taking the time to manually import every little change to my photo archives, can I expect the Photoshop Elements Organizer to work properly as long as everything stored on the NAS is stored via the same system which runs Elements with the same active "user" in control so that all the windows 7 file security settings putting stuff on the mapped NAS drive remain properly secured under Win 7 X64?  Frankly I don't care if the files appear "read only" to every other system and identity on my network, but I do need to be able to "see" them.  I have been able to view slide shows and movies stored on the NAS via both my networked iPad, my Apple TV, and using Samsung's funky android and Windows compatible software.  Frankly, I doubt that Microsoft or Apple has full understanding and control of the environment where there is no host "server" other than the eprom based stuff my Linksys E3000 loads to emulate early Windows Media Management architecture, but I mange to get it to work as long as I don't try anything sophisticated with the file permissions.   As a fall back, can I expect individual "imported" bits out on the NAS to remain stable if indexed and used only by the Elements Organizer running on my Win 7 X64 system?
I am seriously considering converting an old WinXP desktop into a UNIX box which could be configured as a "Server" for everything stored on the NAS and be done with my problems in return for the power required to run the server all the time so stuff is there when I need it.  Any recommendations?

Adobe hasn't said whether it officially supports PSE 7 on Windows 7.  But reports are starting to trickle in that PSE 7 works fine on Windows 7 for most people, though a couple people have reported crashes. My PSE 7 seems to work fine, though I primarily use PSE 8 now.  This is all very preliminary, and we'll learn more as more people post here.

  • I have downloaded Photoshop elements 5.0 to a new PC.  I recieve error message: "Your Adobe Photoshop Elements user name, organization, or serial number is missing or invalid. The application cannot continue and must now exit."

I was referred here by customer service.  I have downloaded Photoshop elements 5.0 to a new PC.  After accepting the agreement I receive an error message saying  "Your Adobe Photoshop Elements user name, organization, or serial number is missing or invalid. The application cannot continue and must now exit."  There is no place to enter the serial number.

All your pictures will remain safe even after uninstalling the program. Your pictures are saved to your system in form of catalog present at C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\Catalogs\<your catalog><br />When you reinstall the program you can open this catalog and view all your photos again.

This is almost the same as the problem I had. I'm my case the Editor installed but not the Organizer! Adobe chat told me they no longer have chat or any other services for Elements 12. I guess they want people to buy their new Elements 13, but that leaves us in a bad place and doesn't say much for how Adobe cares about their customers After it moves on to their next version. I posted a message like yours over a week ago, and only got one email from an Adobe staff person, asking me to answer a couple of clarifying questions, but he never followed up on my response, so my problem is still unresolved. If you are luckier and are given a solution please let me know what it is -- it might work for me too, and I'd be very grateful!  My email:  [email protected]
    Good luck.
Have you checked whether you have folder for PSE Organizer?  It is normally at this location in Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1:
    <C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 12 Organizer>
If the folder is there then try double-clicking on the file called:  PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe
If the folder isn't there at all then you need to re-install the package again using your original disks or from download from Adobe website.  <Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10>
    Hope this helps.

  • I used Adobe Photoshop Elements to organize

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 9. I used the organizer part to tag & group my photos for quick finding on MY computer.
Nothing to do with a "cloud" service. Nothing on-line. Yet, the elements part no longer works & my whole catalog is gone!
I don't want an online storage system so I have no interest in paying a monthly fee to store my photos or access them.
I don't understand why the organize part of my photoshop no longer works. When I open Adobe Photoshop Elements 9,
I have choice of Edit or organize. In a small box I am told "photoshop elements PLUS is no longer available But I did not use that.

Do you have more than one catalog?
Go to the top menu and click:
    File >> Catalog
If other catalogs are listed, other than the current, try selecting (highlighting) and then click the open button.
