I just bought a new iMac and I would like to buy Adobe Photoshop CS6 for Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.2. Try the firestorm app, it's free. It more powerful than the Adobe Photoshop Ex. app. The one thing I like about it, it allows you to add text captions to a photo. The editing tools are awesome... Check out their video tutorial.

Incorrect text size in Adobe Photoshop CS5 for Mac?

Hey all,
I am posting this for an older gentleman who is a photographer and uses Photoshop on his Mac. His iMac runs OSX 10.9.3 and he uses version 12.0.4 X64 of Photoshop CS5. I noticed when I was to his place the other day giving him tutoring sessions that his Photoshop has issue with displaying text sizes incorrectly...
For example, we took one of his scanned image files of a slide and changed it's resolution lower so he could send it to a journalist for an article. He wanted to add his name, a date, and a copyright symbol down in the corner of the image....fine. However, the text is showing up as what LOOKS like 12-point, but we have it set to 0.3!!!! It's VERY frustrating! I read many people had issues with this and fixed it by updating, but his Adobe Updater program says there are no newer versions of Photoshop available for him to update to...? Can anybody tell me how to fix this issue for him or point me in the right direction? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!!!

Having type set to the default Points, can be problematic IMO, and I always set it to Milimeters in Preferences > Units & Rulers > Type. That way I know that if my image size is, say 10 inches high, and I choose a Type size of 25, it will be one tenth the height of the image regardless of resolution (ppi).

Adobe Photoshop CS5 for Mac install problem.

I just purchased Adobe Photoshop CS 5 for Mac and installed it on December 17, 2013. Last week I updated to a new harddrive. I am trying to re-install Photoshop and the disc asks all the usual questions: serial number, Adobe ID, Adobe Password, then the disk kicks out and says done. I open the applications folder and the Adobe Photoshop folder only has one file with 30 KB. Obviously, Photoshop will not open.

I was concerned that Adobe Photoshop CS6 would require me to update my computer to Mac OS 10.8. I updated from Mac OS 10.6.8 to 10.7.5 and lost my old InDesign and my old Photoshop. I purchased InDesign CS6. I read online that Photoshop CS6 was having problems with Mac OS 10.7.5 so I went with Photoshop CS5. I went to Best Buy and Simply Mac to try and purchase the program. They both told me to just go online and buy it. Nobody said go directly to Adobe. The problem is that I am just a homeowner that is not in the know about all these products. My wife is a school teacher and I could have purchased an education version. I thought, no I will just go ahead and purchase the full retail version.
The problem with Adobe is they think everyone is a computer geek and knows all about operating systems and programs. I am just a normal homeowner that is being taken advantage of by Adobe. Adobe manufactured and sold this product to a retail dealer. The product I purchased has never been licensed and I paid full retail for it. Now Adobe will not stand behind it!

I have had Adobe Photoshop CS5 on my PC for less than a year. Since the software will not transfer to my Mac, how much would it be to update to CS6 for Macs?

I could only find an update for Mac OSX 10.4, but not 10.7?

Languages are serial number specific. You cannot change them on the fly. If your serial number supports it, you would have to install it in English. anything beyond that is a hack like stripping the localization files from the app package...

I have purchased the non-extended version, but I can only seem to download the extended version. My serial number will not work for the extended version. How can I let the program know I want the basic version, not the extended. I am so, so frustrated!

Yes, the installer is the same. All trials/ unserialized versions are Extended. The serials will disable these features and convert it to Standard.

They say you should get a email with the serial number and download instructions after purchase.
Your email should specify Mac and the download would be a .dmg file.
