Adobe photoshop starter edition - tags

I want/need to reinstall my computer.
But, I got a problem with Adobe photoshop starter edition.
I would like to save all the created/assigned tags for my photo collection (+ 5000 photo's)
So, here is the question.
Where are the tags saved (filename + default location) ?
Is it possible to export these tags and to import them ?

Hi Patrick,
All the tags are stores in a file called MyCatalog.psa which is generally present at the default location C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Album\Catalogs.
To retain your images, take a backup of your images and copy them into your new system in a similar folder structure for easily reconnecting them.
To retain your tags, take a backup of MyCatalog.psa and copy it to
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Album\Catalogs for XP
or
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Album\Catalogs for Vista.
Cheers,
Chhaya

    Hi WoodlandsPsych1,
Your question about Photoshop Album Starter Edition will be answered on the Photoshop Album forum. I'll move this discussion to that forum so you can get your answer.

  • Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition 3

I keep getting asked to register my Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition 3. I did this years ago. I tried an old unlock code but this doesn't work. Can you help me as I cannot access photos etc.

    Jim,
Many thanks. But, yes, I have done all that several times. Worse still when I load the Photoshop to my laptop all works just fine. Yet both are on up to date XP. I have a Dell p.c. and a Toshiba laptop. Maybe all this is hardware related? Or else I have some Windows corruption on my p.c. But I don't think so as other people are reporting the same problem as I have.
Do you know if there is a way I can ask Adobe directly?
    Regards

  • Adobe Photoshop Starter edition

How do I deselect all photos in Adobe Photoshop Starter edition in order to make a selection?

    > can you open raw file with this software if not what do you do to open them
No, PSA SE does not have RAW support. As free software, it is intended for beginners with digital imaging, for whom RAW is not an issue.
You probably received some software with your camera. Another options is to buy Photoshop Elements, which does have RAW support. Just one note: every make of camera [and even different models] has its own RAW format - you might want to check that your specific one is supported.

  • Moving picture from Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition 3.0 to a folder in MY PICTURES

What is a simple way to move a picture (or group of pictures) from Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition 3.0 to a folder in MY PICTURES? I do not have a PHD in computer science, but I am a Grandpa, so please make the directions simple. I have a PC with Windows XP. Thank you.

    Hi Chester,
Unfortunately with the SE version, it does NOT have a MOVE utility. The GOOD
news is that it will update itself on where you physically moved the
    picture.
Step 1. Click on Start, Programs, Accessories, Windows Explorer and locate
    the image that you wish to move;
    Step 2. Move the image to My Pictures per your question;
    Step 3. Open Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition;
Step 4. Click File, Reconnect All Missing Files.
That my friend should be it. Have a nice day.
    Cheers

  • How do I stop the Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition ...

Every time I plug my N70 into my PC (Windows 2000), the Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 starts, displays the images and clips on the phone and asks me to save them to my PC. I just want to sync my Contacts and Calendar on connection and sync my images only as and when I _want_ to. How can I stop the Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition from STARTING?

    Hi GenKi,
    Ogenki desuka?
First right click on the Adobe Photo Downloader, and then select disable. Think that should do the trick. Did that 2 months back, so I can't really recall well.
    Hope this helps. Jya. ^_^
    Hi,
I can't find the disable button. Can anybody help me?
    Thx.

  • How do I retrieve photo's from Adobe Photoshop Starter edition now that it is no longer available?

I have photo's that have downloaded into adobe photoshop starter edition which is now no longer available and I am unable to register to unlock it!  Getting very stressed as the programme automatically deleted the photo's from my memory card so the only copies I have are now locked in the catalogue of adobe photoshop!  I tried the online help, followed instructions only to get error messages.  I downloaded a new version of photoshop which took all evening and still cannot retrieve my photos!  Does anyone have any advice on how I may get my photo's back?

I dunno PS Starter Edition, but I doubt the images exist in self-contained catalogs only. Certainly there is some very big folder ful lof JPEGs on your hard drive. The default path for Adobe stuff is always My Files\My Images\Adobe, so search there. and of course, if you know the name of one of the images, a conventional Windows search will turn it up...

  • I need help with my adobe photoshop starter edition

hello! the licence of my adobe photoshop starter is over and my problem is that my photos are inside the programm and I cannot see them. How can I do to get my photos?

Your photos are never stored inside the Photoshop Starter Edition. They are always stored somewhere on your hard disk where you can find them.
What is stored in your Photoshop Starter Edition (in the "catalog") is all the organizing you have done (tags, captions, etc.) If you want to retrieve this information, you could download PSE 11 and then try to convert/upgrade the catalog, which would make this infromation retrievable and usable.

  • Cannot transfer images from Adobe Photoshop starter edition 3 to my HD

Help - I have around 50 pictures in my catalogue in the afore named Photoshop Starter Edition - each of the pictures has a small orange square at the bottom of the picture, with a white border, and diagonally from one corner to the other what can only be described as a jagged edge. (I would attach an image if i knew how to)
All I want to do is to copy these pictures to my HD (folder) and get rid of the whole ADOBE junk.
I have tried everything that I can think, doeant give the 'save as' function when I right click either.
PLEASE CAN ANY ONE ASSIST THIS FRUSTRATED GEEZER.
    Thanks in advance
    G

    Hi Ronnie,
Do you know if your "trash bin", the one from Windows empties itself
automatically or if you have to manually do it? I would start there and
see if the ones you KNOW you deleted are there. If they are there, then
MAYBE the other ones are too. The other side is, if the other ones are
NOT there, then they MUST be some place still on the HDD.
If the ones you deleted are gone, it is likely that your recycle bin
empties itself when you shut your computer off.
There is software out there that can pick off "mirror" images from your
HDD to get the old images, but there is no guarantee and I have to
admit, I am not familiar with them. I just know that they exist. You
could try googling to see who in your area might be able to do this.
Now... the other thing I was going to suggest is this. Let's try a test
to see if we can follow what is going on your computer.
Take a couple of pictures with your camera. Load them onto the computer
the way you thought you were supposed to. See if you can get them into
PSA, the way you thought you should and then move them to a new location
and see if you can "reconnect" them using the "reconnect" function under
    the file menu in PSA.
Try that first. In parallel, load Picassa and see if it finds the same
pictures... My goal here is to still find those images in case, they
ended up some place you didn't expect. I don't always pay attention to
where I put pictures and sometimes I find them in the craziest places.
It is likely not the software... it is likely me. :(
    Cheers

  • Moving from Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition 3.0 to a current edition of Photoshop

I downloaded Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 a while back but did not register.  Earlier today I went to download some vacation pictures and got a popup that I had to register.  I tried to register, but another popup informed me this edition was no longer available.  I tried to download my pictures using another application only to discover that Adobe had deleted them from my card (only my vacation pictures, not the pictures I had previously downloaded).  When I pull up Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0, I can see my vacation pictures behind the registration popup, but I cannot get to them.  How can I get my pictures back?

i wish i could answer your question as the same thing has happened to me!!!!   i'm totally lost now, can't access my stuff, and don't have a clue as to what to do!!!  since i'm pretty computer illiterate, i don't even know what to do now to get my pics from my camera into my computer....sooooo lost and stressed out.  what is the 'current' edition? where do you find it?  is it FREE?

  • Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition 3.0 - problem opening My Catalog

Have installed and uninstalled Adobe Starter Edition 3 numerous times. Each time I get the following message:
There was a problem opening the catalog 'My Catalog'
Another user or application may have the catalogue open, or one or more files may be missing, out of date or damaged.
The ODBC data source returned the following error:
"[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]Invalid connection string attribute"
Attempt to compact and recover this catalog and then open again?
If I then click OK it says
A problem was encountered during catalog recovery. Your catalogue may be OK but if you experience problems with it that can't be resolved through the Recover Catalog option or restarting your system you may need to restore this catalog from a backup.
When I click OK - only option offered:
Unable to open catalog called 'My Catalog' because the file is damaged.
Please select an action to perform:
    * open an existing catalog
    * create a new catalog called My Catalogue-1.psa
If I do the first it goes back to square 1 above. If I do the second the same.
Every time I have uninstalled I have then done a search for all files using name My Catalog and deleted those.
Am running on XP fully up to date.

  • Help - Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition 3.2 - Unlocking

    Hi,
I know there are alot of questions on here about the same thing but I need some help!.
I have lots of photos in the starter edition which is asking me to register but will not connect to the internet and I just can't get them out. I have looked everywhere on my computer but I can't find them and I want them back.
I understand from reading some questions you can get an unlocking code which is based on the email that you originally register with, I don't remember registering but maybe I did.
    Can someone please help?
    Thanks
    Ronnie
Ps.I have checked on another chatroom/forum and it says that I may have moved these pictures at some points.. I am telling you all now, there is no way I have done this or deleted them as turning on my laptop is about as technical as I get so actually deleting these is totally out of what I know :0)

    Hi Paulette,
I will begin by assuming that you did the file and select all in Windows
Explorer and not in PSA. Can you confirm this?
There are actually a few folders that say Adobe, so not finding the
images in one is not the end of the world, but given the location you
    looked is not promising either.
When you did the search, did you do this manually, or did you use
Windows search. Windows will look more thoroughly than you for the most
    part.
Uninstalling PSA in your case is not helpful, although at this point you
could try "Get Photos" and refind them that way. As long as you tell the
application to look for all images that have an appropriate file size.
You will see what I mean when you look in the Get Photos area.
The unlock code just allows you to keep using the application. After
about 30 days or something like that, the application locks you out
without the code. Doesn't make much sense to me given that it is free,
    but whatever...
The red icon means that the thumbnails is not lined up with the original
image. Reconnect helps you to find them, but it is not always
successful. More than once I thought I lost images, only to find them by
    accident months later.
At this point, try Get Photos... see what happens, but make sure that
the file size is small enough to include all of your files.
    Cheers

  • Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition 3.2

i HAVE ALL MY PHOTOS IN STARTER EDITION 3.2, WHAT HAPPENS TO THESE PHOTOS IF I DONT WANT TO UPGRADE TO ANOTHER EDITION, I ONLY USE THEM TO VIEW AND PRINT, MY HUSBAND IS AN ARTIST AND I OFTEN PRINT PHOTOS FOR HIM AS A REFERENCE.

Instructions for finding files vary depending on your operating system version. You can find instructions by going to Windows or Apple help forums or docs.
Starter Edition defaults to copying new files My Documents/My Pictures/Adobe/Digital Camera files. You are able to override that default to any location.

  • Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition 3.0

HELP!!!!   It won't let me register and tells me that it has expired.  All of my pictures are on here and I can't get them. I don't care if I have to pay, I just want my photos.  THanks!

Downloaded my digital camera photos to photoshop starter 3.2 which was on  my computer from way back - when I saw that the download was completed I deleted  the pictures from the camera - photoshop then asked me to register their product  for a free access code - and refuses to let me use, edit or see my pictures  without it - sent off the registration form for the code - laborious process -  e-mail back that I thought would have the code needed just tells me the product  is discontinued and invites me to buy other photoshop stuff - does anyone know  the codes they use? If you used the same product the same code you got might  unlock them for me - alternative ways to liberate my pictures appreciated.

  • Cannot uninstall Adobe Photoshop Starter Edition

I cannot uninstall because it isnt present in Add/Remover programs and I don't know whether it's safe to delete the entire Photoshop Album Starter Edition folder or not. Can someone help me out and tell me a safe way?
    Thanks,
    Terry

    Hi Terry,
If you reinstall the application, you will see it in the add/remove
programs and can then uninstall it properly. This will reduce any
problems that might be associated with just deleting the folders.
