Adobe Photoshop Version 1.0 - DVD burning help
I am trying to burn the photos on my hard drive onto a DVD. I am following the directions in Help and it is not working. I am clicking on "backup", then "burn", ..., and the DVD drawer keeps popping open and is not doing anything. It keeps asking for me to put the disk in, and when I do it pops back out again. Help!

I have to believe that the OP has confused things. PS 1.0 (Mac-only) was well prior to the development and release of DVD's, Data, or Video.
Given the OP's apparent level of familiarity with the subject i suspect, by 'Photoshop Version 1.0' OP means:
1/ Photoshop CS1
or
2/ Photoshop Version 11.0
or,
3/ maybe even the update 0.1 (Though this last seems most unlikely)

Because Photoshop is an Adobe product you should be asking on an Adobe product forum or calling Adobe for assistance. Also your profile isn't complete but it does indicate you own a Mac Pro, this is an Intel based iMac forum. If you do have a Mac Pro please re-consider posting there. To complete your profile please click Profile Update, by doing so this helps the volunteers know basics about your system such as which version of OS X is installed, the exact model you own, the amount of installed RAM etc.... Without that information diagnosing an issue is much more difficult. -
How do I re-download Adobe Photoshop version 13
Please tell me how to re-download Adobe Photoshop version 13. Had to replace hard drive and need to re-install software.
You can download the trial from http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html and activate it with your serial number.
Make sure you follow the Very Important Instructions on that page before proceeding to the actual download. -
Adobe Photoshop CS3 Will Not Install PLEASE HELP TRIED EVERYTHING
I downloaded from Adobe the Photoshop CS3 Extended Trial directly from Adobe. (BTW I am on Vista 32)
The first time I tried installing, ADBEPHSPCS3_WWE.exe successfully unpacked, I successfully transitioned to the Adobe Photoshop CS3 installation, and it appeared to install. After 30 minutes or so, the installer finished and simply said that shared components had installed but the Photoshop CS3 Component install failed.
I always got in the log Error 1935.An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.MFCLOC,version="8.0.50727.163",type="win32",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18 e3b",processorArchitecture="x86"'. Please refer to Help and Support for more information
This, I know, is everyones typical problem.
I turned off firewall and antivirus.
I uninstalled ALL Adobe and Macromedia programs, including Flash and Acrobat.
I used Windows Install Cleanup Utility to remove them.
I downloaded the CS3 Clear from Adobe and cleared at levels 1, 2, and 3.
I created the Administrator account on my computer and tried everything on the Administrator account.
I tried installing Photoshop CS3 with compatibility mode for XP SP2.
I tried:
1. Open an Administrator command prompt by right clicking on Start -> All
Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt and selecting "Run as
Administrator" and clicking "Allow" for the elevation prompt
2. In the command prompt, type the command below
fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\
3. Reboot the machine
I tried:
Get command prompt up. It has to be run with admin rights so save yourself some time and run it this way.........Start/programs/accessories/.....right click command prompt and click run as administrator.
Then paste these commands in 1 after the other
regsvr32 vbscript.dll (THEN PRESS ENTER)
and
regsvr32 jscript.dll (AGAIN PRESS ENTER)
I even tried installing in Safe Mode but the CS3 setup would not initialize.
I do not know what else to do. I have CS2 which I will use, but I was really hoping to move to CS3 which is supposed to be better and faster. Does anyone know anything else to do? I am not a computer noob but I am not about to reinstall Vista. If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.I was in the same predicament and after spend many hours over several days trying a multitude of things I finally found an easy fix (below):
========================================
Assuming you have Internet Explorer 7 go to:
Tools/Internet option/Advanced
Click the Reset dialog box. This will bring IE7 back to its default settings. You should reboot your computer. After logging back into Windows load IE and let it take you though its initial setup. When you are done close IE and install Photoshop.. This worked for me,,, hopefully it will work for you! -

Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Windows DVD convert to
I recently purchased a Canon camera bundle and a Photo Suite Deluxe DVD was part of the package, the description at time of purchase did not mention that it was or a Windows based computer only, so the version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 cannot be downloaded onto my Mac. Can I use the serial number I received for that PC version, but download the Mac version from online instead of using the DVD?
Normally, a Photoshop Elements license is good for PC and Mac. Since in this case it is part of some bundle there is no telling what arrangements might have been made. Whether or not it will work out for you remains to be seen thru trying. Here is a link for version 10... give it a shot....

A file which was created and saved using Adobe Photoshop CS6 is not opening anymore HELP
Hi, please help with my issue which is as follows:
A file which was created and saved using Adobe Photoshop CS6 is not opening anymore and sends a message saying that the file is not compatible.
What should I do, I have invested so much in that file and I dont think i will be able to do it all over again. That's why people do incremental saves and use backups... You could try to open the file in an image viewer like IrfanView and see which parts are salvagable, but that's as good as it gets most likely...

If your program is Photoshop Elements, you have posted in the wrong forum. Your thread somehow has gotten posted in the Adobe Premiere Elements Forum (video editing).
Please re-post your thread in the Adobe Photoshop Elements Forum or wait for a moderator here to see your thread here and move it from here to there.
It might be quicker if you just re-posted.

Today I tried to burn my first dual layer DVD using my external DVD burner drive and Toast...It worked for about five minutes and then I got a weird error saying that there was an error in the "medium." I tried going to Roxio's site for answers, but it didn't help. Could it just be that my drive is outdated, or could the dual dvds that I bought aren't compatible with my drive? My drive is a 16x12 dual and the blanks I bought are dvd+r dl Verbatim.
Any help is greatly appreciated...Thanks!How are you connected to it? FireWire or USB? Regardless, make sure you connect the device directly to your MBP and not via a hub. Also, remove any devices that aren't needed. Basically it's trying to make it work with the simplest setup possible.
I would firstly try again doing a restart and run no other applications other than your DVD writing application.
Obviously with DL media the speed at which you can create coasters such that it become more costly than to simply replace the drive is quite real.
By the way, what make/model drive is it? -
DVD Burner HELP ME!!
I have been trying to burn a DVD for 6 months using IDVD. I have read some of the other discussions on this and some have helped. I just was wondering When I was looking for a computer one of the people I was talking to said something about in order to burn a DVD you have to turn the DVD upside down because when you put it in the right way it is the CD burner and on the top of the CD entrance is the DVD burner. I was wondering if that is true. Thanks for you time.
Hmmm, at 6 months I think you have the record for the longest burn time ever...
Seriously though, welcome to the forums. I hope you will receive better advice here than you got from "one of the people" you encountered in your computer search. Both CDs and DVDs go in the same way - label side "up."

Hi I bought this DVD burner And I just recieved it today but little did I know that its not compatable with my computer -_-. The plugins in the back aren't the same one as my computers. The one I bought has like "sata power and Sata Data" on the back and the plugin is significantly smaller. The plugins on my computer are the large ones that take up almost the whole length of the DVD burner. Sorry for the horrible descriptions. Is there some type of converter I can buy (perferbly at best buy) that can convert the burner plugins I bought to the ones I need for my computer? I really hope thats possible.
You could install a PCI SATA controller like this one here:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/PNY+-+2-Channel+SATA+II+RAID+PCI+Card/8552327.p?id=1188562133392&skuId=8...
It allows connection of these devices for computers without these ports.
So yeah, all you need is a PCI SATA Controller Card and you will be all set. You might want to pickup longer cables, too if it does not reach between the drive and the card.

Adobe photoshop Premiere Elements 13 - Need Installation Help
I just purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 & Adobe Premiere Elements 13 for Windows. I have a Windows 8.1 operating system. The file downloaded, it shows it as a 7Z file, which I can't open. Can anyone offer suggestions on how to open this file or how to correctly download the software?
steve AAaaa
From where are you downloading your Adobe Photoshop Elements Premiere Elements purchased software - Adobe direct?
For Adobe direct...
At this time, what do you have on your desktop - two files appropriate for your computer operating system, those being, .exe (which will be the Adobe Application Manager) and the 7z which is the program itself. That is all you should need? Based on my experiences, it is the .exe that does the unpacking of the 7z.
If you are having problems with the Adobe direct route, then download and install the tryout from the following web site and insert your purchased serial number in those installation files at installation.
Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 Direct Download Links, Premiere too | ProDesignTools
Run and carryout the web site's "Note: Very Important Instructions" in order to avoid an Access Denied message.
For Windows, there will be File 1 first (exe) and next File 2 (7z).
Please let me know if you are OK with the instructions.
Thanks.

Plextor external DVD burner -- HELP!
We have a PowerBook G4 and are running OSX 10.4. We just bought a Plextor PX-740UF external DVD burner. We plugged it in, turned it on, inserted a DVD-+R, dragged pictures onto it and then tried to burn it. Then it acted like it was burning it but the % never changed.
Then the same thing happened with DVD-R. What am I doing wrong? Do I need Toast?
Is it possible to install an INTERNAL DVD burner in my laptop?
Thanks!Did you check to see if the Plextor model you
purchased was compatible with a Mac?
You don't say which model PB you have.
You can go to http://www.mcetech.com/ or
http://www.macsales.com/ and see if they have any
Combo drives for your PB.
MJ
FWIW the Plextor 740-UF lists itself as MAC-OS compatible but since I had it before I got my Macbook - mac compatiblitly was not my main purchasing criteria...
It does work just great with Toast, as it does on my old slow Dell but it makes coasters when trying to burn DVD's.
This, to me t least, implies it is compatible to a large degree but I still can't use the native burn functionality.
However, since I bought a copy of Toast... the problem is largely rendered moot at this point.
