Adobe pr pro cs4 dynamic link to Encore cs4: updating changes made to pr pro timeline

Recently I did a project in adobe pr pro cs4 and exported it to encore through adobe dynamic link to create a DVD. When I saw some mistakes, I went in pr pro and corrected them. It automatically updated the chages in encore. Finally, I created my DVD and burned it. Next day, I saw a minor spelling mistake so I opened pr pro and encore separately but any corrections I did in pr pro did not updated in encore!  What is a better way to correct this as I do not want recreate the whole DVD project again by sending it again through adobe dynamic link?

You have to go into Encore and select Revert to Original for your Linked timeline.  Any changes made after transcoding won't show up without reverting.  And yes, that means you have to transcode again.

  • Premiere Pro CS4 dynamic link to Encore CS4

    I'm a newbe and I have a fundamental question about the Premiere Encore workflow. When I edit a project in Premier and I use the File>Dynamic Link>Send to Encore command, I get "Start New Project" from Encore. How do I update the edits I did in Premiere to a current project in Encore? Is there a way to Dynamic Link Premeire edits while I'm in Encore?

    I have the exact same problem. I linked them together, but when I made the change in Premier Pro, the changes did not update in Encore. Everything
    I read and watch on Adobe says it will happen automatically, but I'm not seeing it happen. Is there any way to replace an existing timeline in Encore with its updated sequence in Premier?

    To build CD's???
    What problem does Encore have with DL?
    If DL is not working properly for you the way around this is to export from Premiere to either mpeg2-dvd for DVD or BluRay H.264 for BD-disks and import the files in Encore.

  • I can't find the adobe dynamic link to encore in premiere pro...?

    New to encore and dynamic link... I'm running Premiere Pro CC and Encore CS6.  When I go to send my sequence to Encore (File>Adobe Dynamic Link>..), there is no "Send to Encore" like what I've heard in seen in the tutorials... any ideas?
    I've also tried to dynamic link from encore to premiere pro, but it never loads the sequence.

  • Encore Timeline Audio Sound Vanishes from Dynamic Link to PPro CS4

    Windows XP Pro SP 3
    CS4 Production Suite Premium
    Premiere Pro V4.2.1
    Encore V4.0.1.048
    Problem: Encore Timeline Audio Sound Vanishes from Dynamic Link to PPro CS4
    I have several several PPro CS 4 projects each with a couple sequences.
    In Encore CS4, I make dynamic links to the sequences using
    Adobe Dynamic Link | Import Premiere Pro Sequence ...
    In Encore, I create the Timelines for the Sequences from the dynamic links.
    In the Encore Timeline for each sequence, each Timeline initially plays the video and audio correctly.
    However, should I make any minor edits in Premiere (via edit original in Encore) like changing a title's text and re-rendering the PPro sequence, the Encore Timeline plays the video fine, but there is no audio (the audio track is there, but no audio sound occurs). The Encore dynamic link is untranscoded.
    The following do not make the Encore Timeline audio track audible.
    Update markers from source.
    Clean database button for PPro and Encore.
    Deleting the media Cache and Media Cache Files folders.
    Deleting the Encore Cache folder.
    The only way which seems to fix the audio is to delete the Encore Timeline and generate a new Timeline from the dynamic link. Of course, this means relinking the end actions for the buttons and timelines which is a pain and defeats the purpose of using dynamic links.
    I have been using dynamic links without audio problems for quite awhile without a problem. Now this problem appears in many projects. Thanks in advance.

    Haven't seen a post from the OP since this one.
    I cannot directly answer, but here's some info.
    From a variety of users comments, and my limited experience with CS4 and significant experience wiht CS5, there were improvements in CS5.
    The number one issue when users find no audio in DL situations is not waiting for conforming.  Look at the progress bar and wait till done.
    You are more likely to see DL audio problems using files in Premeire that are not as easy for Encore (e.g. mp3).

  • PPro Dynamic Link To Encore (File Allocation)

    Hello all,
    First, I've just started using PPro CS5 and what a treat it's been.  Thanks to the Adobe team and to the regulars in the Hardware Forum for all the help.
    If my work flow is:  Assets > Edit In PPro > Dynamic Link to Encore > build IMG... then what would be the best way to spread the files across a 4-drive system?
    System
    -  W7-64 bit, Prod Prem with PPro 5.0.1 (and now 5.0.2 as of last night)
    -  i7930 OC 3.4GHz (water cooled)
    -  Asus P6T SE
    -  12GB RAM
    -  GTX470 (with hack, but no longer needed after last night )
    -  Coolermaster Haf X
    -  Antec 1000W power
    -  C:  OS and programs (150 GB Velociraptor)
    -  F:  PPro project and source files (captured videos and music) (F3)
    -  G:  PPro media cache, preview files (F3)
    -  H:  "masters", page file (18 GB) (F3)
    -  no option to Raid (will most likely happen in the distant future)
    -  DVD-R, BD-R
    -  so far this system is "fast" and stable for me.  Loving it!
    Project
    -  DV > DVD (basic editing with no files or apps applying out-of-the-ordinary tasks)
    -  Future Use:  HDV > BDR (basic editing with no files or apps applying out-of-the-ordinary tasks)
    Thoughts
    -  I'm fairly confident in my PPro allocations after reading Generic Guidline For Disk Setup (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/662972) but always looking to tweak and improve.  This is more with the addition of Encore to the mix.
    -  I'm thinking the Encore files would go on G and the IMG file would be kicked out to H.  But if Encore makes heavy use of the media cache and previews on G, then maybe the Encore files and IMG should go on H.  Opinions?
    -  Any better way to allocate the files?
    -  Any suggestions on my page file size/location?
    These initial projects are also my way of fine-tuning my new work flow, computer configurations/settings,
    Thanks,
    Erik (Pyramid Pyro)

    When you dynamic link to Encore, you send it nothing really: it opens an instance of the pproheadless which gives Encore what it wants until it is time to transcode it, and then it compresses the PR sequence using the Encore settings you set for the project and for that sequence (ones like the ones Encore tells you it can't load). So yes, it matters.
    Has Encore CS5.1 (the version that is part of PR CS5.5) worked for you before?

  • CS4 Dynamic Link Problem

    Is anybody having trouble keeping the source files linked in After Effects after using dynamic link from Premiere?
    Please refer to this link:
    cwrig, "CS4 Dynamic Link Problem" #1, 26 Oct 2008 1:02 pm
    This is very frustrating.
    Thanks for your time!

    Did some more tests and here is what does and doesn't work for me.
    Losing footage -
    Yes I was having the issue (and the topic is in the premiere forum also)
    Here is what seems to solve it.
    It loses the footage if I use the original folder which has spaces in the name. Not sure if that is the culprit but both methods proved consistent in every test I did.
    it worked when I used a new folder called "Test" at the root of my editing drive.
    Crashing-
    Not sure if other have the issue but when I close AE, PPro will just sit there with an hour glass and show as not responding.
    If I close PPro first and then AE and reopen PPro then all seems to work as it is supposed to.
    This was also consistent in every test I did.

  • CS4 Premier Pro Dynamic Link to Encore Question

    I have DL'ed (Dynamic Linked) a project in PP CS4 to Encore CS4 and it worked just fine except that in the sequence in PP CS4 I edited some of the audio tracks with render and replace using Sooundbooth CS4. The audio effects I added in Soundbooth CS4 played back as encoded in PP CS4 on the time line but not in the final product from Encore.
    What would have caused this?  Can added effects in Soundbooth be DL to Encore CS4 or do I have to render out in PP CS4 then pull the assets to Encore?
    Much thanks in advance for assistance.

    I don't believe that any of the effects I wanted to apply in SB were
    actually applied but there are other cuts and edits I would not want to
    loose by re-applying the clips to the timeline.  Are you saying that the
    edits would remain in tact and that theoriginal video and audio with
    edits would be replace?  Also, you should know that some of the final SB
    effects that I added (which were not added to the audio clips) contained
    other SB effects that were retain and had to do with filtering noise and
    very lager gain adjustments which I would NOT want to loose just to
    recover the more subtle effects lost in the last SB effects I wanted to add.
    So my concerning is replacing what is on the time line now with raw
    files in the project panel.
    Does that help in explaining my concerns?
    Thanks again!!

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 Dynamic Link not working as part of Production Premium CS5

    I ran into a situation whereby I recently reinstalled my Production Premium CS 5 onto a new computer and when trying to run the Dynamic Link out of Premiere PRO CS 5 to create a new After Effects composition, After Effects tried to start up but then crashed with the error that Production Premium was needed.
    Yet, I had Production Premium CS5.
    (Note:  The crash didn't occur when I simply tried to use Dynamic Link without anything selected in my project or timeline - but the moment I had a clip in my timeline selected to work on it, the dynamic link would not work as covered above.)
    In checking around the forums I found various answers to this problem such as rebooting the computer, reformatting hard drives and/or whatever.  This all may be correct.
    However, as I just went through that nightmare, I was not anxious to do that again.  So, I called Adobe and the following solution solved the matter in 5 minutes:
    1. Close all your other Adobe applications such as After Effects.
    2. Open up Premiere Pro CS5 and then deactivate it by going to HELP>DEACTIVATE and then Permanently Deactivate.
    3.Close the application and restart Premiere Pro CS5.
    4.Then do the same to Activate it.
    5. Have your serial number handy and plug it in when prompted.
    Solved it right away and worked beautifully.
    Not to say there couldn't be more complicated situations, but the above worked and the simpler the better is good for me. And I thought I would post this in case anyone else ran into this problem.

    Thanks for posting your solution.

  • Getting Dynamic Link to work (CS4 Windows)

    I've done enough Googling and searching these forums to know that Adobe Dynamic Link will work only in a suite environment, and found instructions on deactivating, uninstalling, running Clean Script, etc.
    Before I do all that, maybe someone can tell me if it's even possible with what I have: the suite contains After Effects, Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and Fireworks. For whatever reason, After Effects has its own serial number. Separately, I have a box for Premiere Pro & Encore and a box for Sound Booth. So that's 3 boxes, all CS4, running on Win 7 x64.
    So is Dynamic Link possible, or do I abandon all hope? I could have sworn it worked before I reformatted the drive, but maybe I was imagining things.

    As far as I know, Premiere Pro must be part of a suite to have Dynamic Link... you do not describe PP in a suite
    But... go to the Adobe product pages and read what is included with "just" PPro/Encore and when PPro is part of a suite

  • Using Dynamic Link to Encore -- Can't do it in PP CC?

    This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of.  Surely I have it wrong.  Premiere Pro was upgraded to CC two years ago, but I cannot use the Dynamic Link to create DVDs.  I can use my Premiere Pro CS6 to use the dynamic link to get my sequences in Encore CS6, but because there is no upgrade to CC for Encore, I can't use the dynamic link (with PP CC).
    Are you freaking kidding me?   What's the point of coming up with this amazing Dynamic Link if you can't use it anymore?  Somebody is really nuts here in the development of PP CC and lack of development for Encore.
    Am I missing something?  Should I be building my DVDs in a new CC program that I'm not aware of?

    >lack of development for Encore
    Adobe was FORCED to stop development, see #8 here for why http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1337952?tstart=0

  • Dynamic Link to Encore from Premiere Issues

    I created a simple After Effects composition and Dynamic Linked it to Premiere Pro. (All CS4 Programs)  I completed the editing process, and Dynamic Linked my timeline into Encore.  In Encore, the Premiere Pro timeline appears, but it does not represent the After Effects composition within the Premiere Pro Timeline.
    I am unsure as to why this occurs.
    Also, I have issues with getting the DVD's I burn to play in other computer/DVD players.  The discs I create work perfectly fine in my computer, as well as my DVD player but I am unsure why they do not work in other people's devices.  The discs are DVD-R discs.

    So you must downrez at some point in the workflow. Some users have problems and/or think they get better quality out of direct PR/AME exports than using DL for this purpose.
    I would test the workflow by creating three short test sequences - one with a clip from one camera, a second from the other, and a third with both in a sequence using the same settings you are using in your edit. I would use the "drag a clip" to the new item method for making each of the first two sequences. By short I mean 30 seconds to 2 minutes with a mixture of still and action.
    Export using whatever method you pick of those recommended, but use CBR 8 instead of VBR etc. Bring the resulting files into Encore. Yes, look at the files exported on the computer, and look at Encore preview, etc, but also burn to a disk and watch on multiple TVs. There are lots of issues in best quality.

  • PP CS4 Dynamic Link-Fehler & Projekt verloren?

    Hallo,
Danke.

    I'm pretty sure there's chroma keyer in your version of Premiere, and if you've tried using it you know 1) it's not all that great and 2) you have to do each clip separately.  The same thing applies in AE, but Keylight is much better.
    I've never had to fool around with Dynamic Link -- I cut in Final Cut Pro, you see -- so I'm unfamiliar with the process of moving from Premiere to AE.  Again, I'm pretty sure you can import the Premiere project, and it comes in as an AE comp.  And then you'd use Keylight on the individual clips.  That's a good thing, too: since exposures and lighting conditions are rarely the same from shot to shot, you get the right key for the shot, rather than keying everything at once, meeting with varying degrees of success.
    There isn't a whole lot that's automatic in pulling a good-looking key, I fear.
    And since I'm typing, I'm going to crab a bit... it's time for a rant!
    What on God's Green Earth is going on with this web site?  This is the fourth stinkin' time today I've had to log in just to post a messsage... and the second time I've had to do it to post this particular message!  Geez, talk about inconvenient!  It sure makes me feel like I'm welcome around here.
    The next time I get one of those surveys from the idiot company that runs Adobe's web site, I'm going to let those geniuses have it with both barrels.  They'd have a tough time finding a certain part of the anatomy above the legs and below the back in the dark using both hands.  They're giving Adobe a bad name in my book.
    There.  Now I'm down off my soapbox.

  • Dynamic Link with Encore, Photoshop, and After Effects

    Intention 1: Im using Photoshop CS5 (PS5) & After Effects CS5 (AE5) to create a DVD menu for Encore CS5 (EN5). I used the 'Film & Video' preset in PS5 to make a standard HD 1440 x 1080px image size; which looks the same in AE5. My problem is in PS5 the 'Pixel Aspect Ratio Correction'  size is the size i want the universal size to be. Its a more stretched version which looks better to me, but may not work well with HD monitors (as this DVD will be played on a 17" laptop).
    Question 1: Is there any way to have AE5 recognize the 'pixel aspect ratio correction' from PS5 and make the composition settings that size in AE5?
    ```
    Question 2: What are standard sizes for computer monitors that would work welll mostly with the Dynamic Link in AE5 and EN5 working with PS5?
    Yes, it can be very confusing. With CS5, however, as long as you keep it all the same, it doesn't require setting. But you do need to understand it.
    Just start with the help page:
  • CS4 Dynamic Link practically useless
    Hi!
    I'm pretty pissed at the moment but I'll try to behave.
    I just purchased Production Premium CS4 and mainly because of the "improved" Dynamic Link features between AE and Premiere. What a huge disappointment:
    When I replace Premiere footage with an AE composition, it is almost impossible to preview that composition in Premiere. The playback is very jerky and jumps all over the place. In AE everything previews just fine, but when I go back to premiere to see my clip with the rest of the movie, the preview is just horrible. In CS3 I had to render the imported AE comps out in Premiere before I could watch them properly. But now in CS4 it wont let me render them: when I hit enter in Premiere the clip just starts playing straight a way without any rendering at all, and the result is some very jerky video playback. However, the render line in Premiere timeline is green (not red) and Premiere doesn't seem to think it needs to render anything.
    I use vista ultimate 64-bit, with 8 gb RAM and an intel quad core processor. Is there anything I can do to solve this or do I have abandon using Dynamic Link in CS4? :(
    I feel your pain man, though I think our issues with DL are different.
    My problem is that Premiere won't render the DL from AE, but tries to play it back without rendering, with some very very poor results.
    I just tested it on a totally fresh project: first I imported a clip (dvc pro hd) on to the new premiere project, then I put it on the timeline and chose "replace with after effects composition). Got the clip in AE and put keylight on it to pull a chroma key out of it. Then went back to Premiere to see the keyed footage with a bright green render line on the timeline: Premiere doesn't try to render the comp even though it can't handle playing it in any way! What on earth could be the issue in here?
