Adobe premiere 8 blank screen?

I open my adobe premiere elements 8, the home screen appears and i have clicked both new and open a project and both give me the same screen - loading followed by absolutely nothing. I then tried opening one of my old projects by clicking on its shortcut in my documents folder. It brought up the screen and said it was loading but again went blank. It shows no editing screens -just a gray screen. Help!

How long ago was it that Premiere Elements 8 worked for you? On what computer operating system is it installed?
Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
Let us go through the usual Premiere Elements 8 drill...
1. Do you have the automatic Background Rendering and AutoAnalyzer features disabled?
2. Are working from the 8.0.1 Update of the program?
3. Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1?
4. Are you running the program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges and with Run As Administrator applied to the
program's desktop icon?
5. Is your video card/graphics card up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card?
Assuming that we got the above factored out of the problem, then let us start by deleting the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file, and, if
that does not work, then delete the whole 8.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Assuming that you are working with Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit....

and in the 8.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then you delete the whole 8.0 Folder in which
the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you
can see the complete path cited.
Do you have purchased serial number for the product as well as installation files or disc in case we need to discuss deactivation, uninstall, ccleaner run through, and reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.

Adobe Premiere Pro CS 5..5 - Content Analysis not working

I am trying to get Adobe Premiere CS 5.5 to analyze an MP3 and provide me the text. I import the MP3, add it to a sequence and then select the "Analyze Content" option which spins off the Adobe Media Encoder (AME). After the file is "encoded" by AME which I have confirmed by having it create a new MP3.
Question: I don't see anything on the metadata window back on Adobe Premiere CS 5.5, do I need to load up the newly created and encoded MP3? I tried that, but that did not work.
Please provide me some pointers.
Also, I am looking to do the same for 40-50 MP3s. I believe I can queue them up in AME and have it encode them all at once?

You can download and install the software. The serial number from the DVD can be used to activate it.

Live Stream Green Screen with Adobe Premiere

So at my school I am head tech for the morning news which is a live broadcast that is sent throughout the entire school. Right now we have a blank green background and my Teacher asked me to setup a way for us to broadcast the news with a green screen live. After about a month of attempts none have proven worthy for the situation is not the best:
- The output signal that is used to broadcast to the school is old analog: it runs on a coaxial plug. However, we have a modulator that takes in s-video and RCA and converts that to coaxial
- We have adobe Premiere on new computers but they don't have a suitable coaxial output, I could possibly install a graphics card we have but since they are new and are school PCs, I cant really do that
- The camera is nothing fancy, put does have a fire wire and RCA output, but the computers do not have none of those inputs, however we do have a converter from fire wire to USB
- The new computers have no RCA or s-video outputs(like I said, they are new and the broadcasting setup is old) but we still have one old laptop that we can clone the screen to the broadcast for it has an s-video output.(Possibly we could stream from the new PC to the old one and clone it to the TV?)
- The new computers do have extra VGA outputs, so could you possibly convert that to s-video? (Cus they are both analog?)
Like I said, this is a very sticky situation. My closest idea is that we could some how stream the green screen video from the new PC to the old one that would then broadcast it, but I do not know how to do that and the camera will not register with Premiere even when plugged in via converter... I believe it is because we do not have a capture card, the only capture card I could even use though would have to be external for I cannot open the new PCs under the school policies. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas on how I could solve this enigma, that would mean a million.

Premiere Elements 9.0.1 - Loads with blank screen and no functionality

On launching PE9, the application loads and I get the top menu bar, but the rest of the screen is grey and the majority of the options on the menus are greyed out. You cannot open a project, create a new project or do anything.
I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled the software but the issue remains. I last used it about 4 monhs ago to create a instant movie from a set of photos.

I have worked with Premiere Elements 9 as tryout and purchased product from its release time (about 2012). And in 2012 I wrote about it in

Premiere Elements 9 has been on my Windows 7 64 bit computer (Intel video card/graphics card) since 2012 without problems after the display card error was resolved. No relaps in that regard.
Premiere Elements 9 has been on my Windows XP 32 bit (NVIDIA) and Windows XP 32 bit virtual since 2012 without problems.
Premiere Elements 9 has gone through some installs, reinstalls on Windows 8 and 8.1 (Intel video card/graphics card) from time to time without any problems.
Unless you use the audio fix that I described, there is a problem with retaining replacement background for the burn to DVD-VIDEO products. See post numbered 8 in the Premiere Elements 9 Daily Discoveries thread cited above.
Other program glitches are described in the threads cited above. But, none, except the display matter, ever kept me from using the program successfully.
Premiere Elements 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 are on my Windows 7 64 bit, used one at a time. I have looked at Lightroom tryouts (never went with the product), and they did not compromise the working of version 9 at the time. I have never used Photoshop CS6 nor the GoPro software.
Premiere Elements 10, 11, 12 are on my Windows 8 or 8.1 64 bit when I install 9.0/9.0.1 there from time to time for user troubleshooting purposes - my posts are based on first hand experiences with Premiere Elements.
My major problem with the program was the display card error reported.

See post 10 in the thread just cited for the rationale behind the BadDrivers.txt file deletion.
Although that type of issue can present in Premiere Elements other than 9, it seems to me that version 9 was worst case in this regard. My solution was the deletion of the BadDrivers.txt file even with an up to date video card/graphics card.
If deletion of Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and/or the whole 9 Folder in which it exists does not resolve your Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 issue, then I would suggest
a. looking into the video card/graphics card and its driver - double check to assure that your video card/graphics card is up to date...and, if it is, delete the BadDrivers.txt file.
b. assure that you have the 9.0.1 Update installed
c. double check Scratch Disks location and free hard drive space at that location, if you can get into a project

Please review and consider. (If you are thinking 12/12.1, please look at the tryout before purchase.)

I have finally found time to work on and to learn how to use my recently purchased Adobe Premiere Elements 11 (APE11) and Adobe Photoshop Elements 11, using Adobe’s respective ‘Classroom In A Book’ training aid I recently purchased. To my disappointment when I open Adobe Premiere Elements 11 in the 'minimize' state it “tracks” when I try to move it across the screen, (see images), making it impossible and unacceptable to use. It only happens with APE11 and not with Photoshop, Premiere Organizer, MS Office Suite Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Etc.), or any other programs on my computer. Also, the “tracking” doesn’t happen to a video within the APE11 video working space. I have installed this instance of APE11 twice to no avail using the Adobe defaults. See the added images for the current configuration of my PC and the APE11 version I have. I noticed in APE11’s Properties that I don’t have Compatibility checked-off because I never have had a previous version (see image). I do the Microsoft & Windows 7 updates regularly. This PC was purchased and configured to work on photo and video editing & manipulation, along with my everyday use. [Purchased on 2/22/13 from a reputable company Computer Links, Burlington, NC 27215, 336-226-4738 Invoice# 148599, (Technician: Matt). I am not a computer science person, which is why I relied on Matt to configure my PC. As this appears to be an AEP11 issue I am relying on you to resolve the issue verse Matt. I had one person kindly suggest "Could you try to update your graphic card drivers, if they are not current"? If I knew how to & where located on PC I would consider it, however I would think it would be current as it was new when PC was purchase 2/22/13 and if it was out-of-date why wouldn't the other programs on the PC also 'track', such as Adobe Photoshop Elements, MS Ofiice Suite programs, etc.? (PS: I thought I posted this in the Adobe Premiere Elements area 5/19/13, apparently I posted it in the "Downloading, Installing, Setting Up" discussions area instead, & didn't see a way to move it?? I started in APE11 Area.)

It appears Matt solved my issue earlier today and I have been testing it without a failure.
Matt determined it was the Personailization "Themes" I was using. I had the Theme "Windows Classic" selected from the "Basic and High Contrast Themes..." group, and when he changed it to one of the "Aero Themes" the Adobe Premiere Elements "TRACKING" problem went away. He and I are not sure why it works by changing the theme, but it appears to. Using the Aero Theme continues toi allow me to use my own photos for "Desktop Background" and "Screen Saver".
The path to it is via the PC display by right clicking your mouse, select "Personalize", select one of the "Aero Themes" and go from there according to personal taste. See image below:
Note: Something for Adobe to consider going forward, if the above remains a solution. Matt says as I am using Windows 7 I have a selection between Themes, either "Windows Classic" from the "Basic and High Contrast Themes..." group or one of the "Aero Themes" (which resolved my Tracking problem), however Windows 8 did away with the "Aero Themes" and there isn't a choice then what? He isn't sure if there will be a tracking problem or not.
ATM any thoughts on why the above Themes setting would make a difference?

I wouldn't think the graphic card would be out of date as it was part of the 2/22/13 PC purchase, however I don't know how to verify it using Windows 7 to be sure if it is or isn't. If it was the graphic's card, wouldn't the other programs, such as Adobe Photoshop Elements 11, the MS Office Suite Programs, etc., on the PC also 'track'?.

ChromaKey, GreenScreen Key, and BlueScreen Key are not included in Premiere Elements Mac.
Some suggest Videomerge as the alternative. I do not. But Videomerge is not THE alternative.
Instead, I prefer the Difference Matte as a substitute for the 3 absent keying effects. Please check out my blog post on that which includes

The suggestion has met with good results according to the feedback that I have gotten to this.
I am strictly a Premiere Elements Windows user who does not prefer Videomerge even in Windows.

I have an HP laptop preloaded with Adobe Premiere Elements 10. For whatever reason Elements will "run" on click, but not even open the load screen or anything and then act like I never tried to open it? whats going on?

I bought my HP laptop in 2012, and it came preloaded with Adobe Premiere and Photoshop Elements 10
It worked fine and I even made a few video edits back in 2012 but for the last year Elements just REFUSES to work properly
I used to be able to open elements to at least the "what do you want to do?" screen
But now It won't even open this...I have no idea why...
If I double click the Elements application my computer slows down, bracing itself to load, and then ....thats it....it reverts to its normal speed and elements just doesn't open...
Any help would be great cause I feel like I've exhuasted all self-troubelshooting options and need to either get help from the forums or take the laptop in before I smash it in rage

Thanks for the reply with additional information.
Recent history for Premiere Elements points to the program having problems when more than 1 video card/graphics card is
being used by the computer on which Premiere Elements is running. This observation may seem contra indicated by the fact
that you say that the program did work well about 2 years ago in the same setup. But other factors may have set in with regard
to drivers, drivers versions, and driver conflicts. But this factor, does need to be ruled in or out.
Can you disable one or the other card to determine the impact of this on your problem?
But, of prime concern with regard to video card/graphics card is the use of a NVIDIA GeForce card with Premiere Elements 10.
Even if your NVIDIA GeForce were the only card, Premiere Elements 10 will not work properly unless the NVIDIA GeForce driver
version is rolled back to about May 2013. This may be one of the major factors here.
a. Device Manager/Display Adapters and find out Driver Version and Driver Date
b. Read the background information for the Premiere Elements 10/NVIDIA GeForce issue

Add On...This NVIDIA GeForce situation is specific for Premiere Elements 10. You should not expect to see the problem for
later versions of Premiere Elements.

Adobe Premiere Pro CC Crash on Splash Screen

My Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 is crashing on the splash screen. My Adobe Premiere Pro CC was not crashing until 2014. I am very angry and frustrated this subpar update was forced on us.
I have tried:
Uninstalling and re-installing SEVERAL TIMES
I have tried changing the compatibility issues to windows 7
I have tried running in administration mode
I have started my computer several times
I have tried updating my video drivers
My computer specs:
ASUS G75V gaming laptop
1tb SSD
12g ram
3gb video memory
I have deadlines for clients and this is VERY frustrating!!!!

Hey everyone. I'm having the exact same issues. I've been using Premiere Pro CC for over a year, and only just recently started having issues with it. Now, every time I launch it crashes(not responding) before it even gets to the project screen.
I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
Intel i7 4820k 3.70 Ghz Processor
Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 graphics card with the latest drivers. 9.18.13.4052
8 GB of DDR3 1333Mhz RAM
So far I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all graphics drivers as well as Premiere with no luck.
I then uninstalled every single Adobe application, including CC. Then reinstalled CC and Premiere by themselves. Still no luck.

Blank screen on Adobe Acrobat Pro Startup 9.0

After installing our volume license here on campus, I'm getting this blank screen on startup. This is only happening with one machine. We all have the same systems and configurations, so not sure what it is. I have to use Task Manager to quit the program. Thought it was the graphic drivers for our NVidia card GeForce 5200, but I updated those and had the same problem. Also tried repair, removed, cleaned registry, then reinstall again. I still cannot get this to work. This is an older Dell Optiplex GX270, 1 gb of RAM.
Any ideas?

Acrobat XI Pro does not work as well as previous versions. For example, using "Combine Files into PDF" function, Acrobat will not work if one or more of your WORD docs has a text layer (such as in a WORD template to produce a letterhead). The text layer will not print to PDF, although this function works fine in previous versions. It will convert your WORD docs to PDF, but if any WORD doc has a text layer, it will not be converted. It will show up as a blank space. I have a letterhead text layer that has my work credentials. It does not show up on the converted PDF, using the bundle (Combine Files into PDF) function. Tech Supports workaround for this is to first create a PDF from the WORD page that has a text layer by first clicking on Acrobat, at the top of the monitor page, then clicking on Create PDF. Save the PDF, which will have the printed text layer. Then go to Combine Files into PDF and include that already created PDF page in the bundle. That will work, but it's another step you have to go through to create your bundle, i.e., your work flow is interrupted by having to accomplish the workaround (documented in Adobe Case No. 0185444461). Acrobat Pro 9 extended did not need this workaround - nor did previous versions. Tech Supports comment was that Adobe changed a lot of things - in this case, not for the good.

PrE 12. How to deal with black screen "Created with Adobe Premiere Elements trial version"?

I'm really considering purchasing PrE 12 and would like to try it out. (I have another video editing software and would like to try this one.)
When I add video, I get a black screen "Created with Adobe Premiere Elements trial version". When I hit play, I can hear audio, but I don't get any video (just the black screen). Is there a work around, a setting that I can change, or is the trial version supposed to show the black screen?
