Adobe Premiere CC crashes on startup - help!

I've gotten a brand new HP laptop, and installed Adobe Creative Cloud with Adobe Premiere.  Every time I open Premier it crashes before it opens, or crashes after i do one task (save, import a file etc).  I can't even start my project.
Anyone able to help?  I have do do a video in several days for an event!
Laptop details:
AMD A8-4500M  APU w HD Graphics (1.90 Ghz)
160GB ram
64 bit operating plus 64 based processor.
Thank you!!!

Hi Bravetart,
Welcome to Adobe Forums.
Please open device manager and check under display adaptors, apart from AMD is there an entry for intel as well.
If yes, right click any where on the screen and choose AMD catalyst center and make sure Premiere Pro is set to high
performance instead of power saving. Also make sure all the drivers are up to date.
Thanks

  • Adobe Premiere CS5 Crashes at startup and cannot update

My Premiere pro CS5 keeps crashing at startup and I tried to update it but it says “inapplicable” and won’t allow update....
I tried uninstalling as well but still doesnt work....

For the first issue, try this:
    Go to the following locations
Location 1: When in Finder, click on Go > Go to Folder > ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
    Location 2: Go > Go to Folder > ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe
    Location 3: Documents > Adobe
In all the locations, rename the 'Adobe' folders to 'OldAdobe'
Launch Premiere, accept the License Agreement and see if it works.
Note: You will lose your customized workspaces and keyboard shortcuts.
For the second issue, try this:
If you succeed to launch Premiere Pro, Go to Help > Updates and try to update from there. If you are not able to launch Premiere Pro and have any other CS5 app such as After Effects, open that and go to Help > Updates and see if you are able to update from there.
    Thanks,

    Any Suggestions??

I just scanned a few threads citing this exception code. Most often, the problem is either a graphics driver or, more specifically, having both an integrated graphics chip and a graphics card. In the latter case, disabling the integrated chip generally solves the problem. Here's an especially illuminating thread on just how tricky it can be to be sure that the graphics card situation is all settled: Unable to launch Photoshop CC 2014 - igdfcl64.dll

  • Adobe Premiere CC Crashing

I just started using adobe premiere so sorry if I don't know what I am talking about. Every time I try to preview stuff on the timeline or render a video, adobe premiere cc crashes. If I try to make the video, put it in queue and start the queue it still tells me it has stop working even if I closed it and only have media encoder open. Even then I can not render anything. I have re-installed it, tired to use different GPU drivers, CPU drivers, sign out and in to creative cloud. Nothing has worked. If you know a way this could be fix please let me know. Specs: i5-2320 @3.00GHz, 8GB Ram, 1TB Hard Drive, GTX 660 and all of it is on Windows 7 64-bit.
EDIT: Just installed Quick Time to see if that would help. Did not help at all.

This is the message it tells me when it crashes well I'm trying to render.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements crashes on export

    Hello,
I am working on a video project in Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0. My computer is a Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Dell XPS M1530 laptop with the following hardware:
    Toshiba MK3263GSX Disk Drive
    285 GB, 149 GB used
    burst transfer rate: 3 MBps
    5400 RPM
    8 MB cache
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T8300
    2.40 GHz
    4.00 GB of RAM
Whenever I try to export my project (which is less than 3 minutes long and contains no more than 2.25 GB of 720p 30fps video), the program crashes. Usually, the progress bar will go about half way before an Adobe message tells me that Premiere is running low on system memory. Not long after that, a Windows message appears telling me that "Adobe Premiere Elements has stopped working" and it crashes to the desktop. This has occured without fail perhaps 50 times in all my tries to get this to save.
As this project has progressed and become larger and larger, it has become more and more difficult to export. At first, there were no problems. Then, I had to start restarting the program or my computer immediately before exporting. After making a few more changes and additions, I have been entirely unable to export succesfully.
I have set my export settings at far lower levels than would be acceptable for this project, but the program still crashes. I was most recently trying to save the file as an .mpg with the NSTC Widescreen DVD settings. Trying to save in other file formats and at other settings has not been succesful.
I do realize that this is probably a commonly asked question, so I apoligize for bringing it up again. I have searched for information on this topic and have tried several suggestions, including changing the virtual memory and cleaning up my hard drive.
Is my computer just too weak to export this project? Would a more recent program fix my problem? Are there any techniques or suggestions I should try?
Thank you very much for your help.

  • Adobe Premiere CC Crash on start up Windows 7 64-bit

Hey everyone.  I've been using Premiere Pro CC for over a year, and only just recently started having issues with it.  Now, every time I launch it crashes(not responding) before it even gets to the project screen.
    I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
    Intel i7 4820k 3.70 Ghz Processor
Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 graphics card with the latest drivers. 9.18.13.4052
    8 GB of DDR3 1333Mhz RAM
So far I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all graphics drivers as well as Premiere with no luck.
I then uninstalled every single Adobe application, including CC.  Then reinstalled CC and Premiere by themselves.  Still no luck.
    Anyone ever encountered this??
Please help, I'm at my wits end!
    Thanks!

Have you cleared the preferences? If not, go to Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/7.0 [or 8.0 if you're actually on CC2014, not CC()7.x], and rename the "<username>-Profile" folder. Then when you launch, Premiere will create entirely new prefs.

  • Adobe Premiere CC crashes every ~10 seconds

Hi, today I installed Premiere CC and After Effects CC on a computer at work. Here are the specs of the computer.
    BIOS: BIOS Date: 01/10/13 08:20:50 Ver: A12.00
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
    Memory: 8192MB RAM
    DirectX Version: DirectX 11
    Graphics: Intel(R) HD 4000
I edited some footage for about 30 minutes, and then Premiere crashed. I figured I was about done anyway and opened up AE, and worked for awhile. I switched back to Premiere to do more work, and it started crashing every ~10 seconds. So I'd open, edit for about 6 seconds, save, and it'd crash. Reopen, edit for a few seconds, save, etc. I finally finished the editing, but of course it wouldn't stay open long enough to export anything.
So I opened up AME, and dragged the .prproj into it. For awhile, it would just say "Reading XMP" for a long time, and so I eventually would quit out of it. After a while, it stopped, and I could edit the export settings. Once I got those set up, I tried to export. No good. It'd export a bit, and it would freeze. Then, a dialogue box saying "Adobe Premiere CC has stopped working" would pop up, and then AME would export a little more, etc. I figured out that killing the process "PProHeadless" causes the same export/freeze phenomenon. But the final exported file had inserts of "media pending" in the video. I figured that it was pretty drastic to be killing processes, so I wasn't too surprised.
At any rate, I'd really like to be able to edit at some point. I'd appreciate your help. Also, I don't have administrator priveledges on the computer... but I can probably get them if it's an absolute must.

Flush the media cache and the project cache.

  • Premiere Pro crash on startup - Sony Vaio

Hi. I have had Premiere Pro CC 2014 - Trial version working for the past 4-5 days (~19 Nov 2014), but now it crashes on loading at the splash screen stage with the following signature. [Note it takes about 30-60 seconds to get to the splash screen when loading].
I've re-installed the video drivers (as per a previous post), but the problem isn't fixed. I haven't installed anything else except MediaFire, but this didn't cause the crash previously and don't allow it to load on boot. Windows 7 is updated fully again today. Will I have to do a clean boot and then see if PP works?
    Any help appreciated.

Removing amdocl64.dll has allowed PP to load.
Like others, I'd like to know what this dll is, before deleting it completely.
I'll keep searching Google. Many of Google links head back to sites similar to this one without any info on what the DLL is for.
(I generally know what a DLL is). Perhaps it is linked to an AMD CPU (I don't have) or GPU (I doubt I have).
