Adobe Premiere Elements 10 Error 1 or [..\..\Src\DirectoryRegistery.cpp-283.

I installed Adobe Premiere Elements 10.  When I double click on the shortcut icon , I get configuration error 1 which tells me to uninstall/reinstall and then contact Adobe support if it happens again.    Uninstalling/reinstalling did not resolve problem so I contacted Adobe support.  First time spent about 45 minutes on hold while the person consulted with other colegues and was then disconnected.  After waiting about 1.5 hours for call back, I recalled.    After  about 30 minutes on hold was told that I should call a different number and pay $39  and I could talk to someone who might be able to help me but that this support line did not support this type of problem.  Went to online support.  Was told to add a new password protected user account, uninstall/reinstall and try to open program using new user account.  No joy.    Present status :  If I double click  on shortcut  icon, get configuration error 1.  If I rignt click and try to 'run as current user get  'debug error [..\..\Src\DirectoryRegistery.cpp-283.  If I 'run as the password protected user account get configuration error 1. Note that during the first call, I was sent an email with a 'case number' and a link to check status but the case number has never showed up on the adobe website.   Questions:
1.  Any suggestions to resolve problem?
2.  If I pay the $39, is it likely that I will get the problem resolved or simply get the same run around?  I have now uninstalled/reinstalled/restarted at least 6 times and there have really been no other suggestions from Adobe.
3.  Suggestions for alternative video editing software if I can't ever get Adobe to boot up.  Thanks for your support.

  • [..\..Src\DirectoryRegistry.cpp-283] error when starting Premiere Elements

This error only happens when the laptop is disconnected from our domain. When trying to start Elements I receive error:
Premiere Elements 8.0 has encountered an error.
    [..\..Src\DirectoryRegistry.cpp-283]
Then program will not start unless I connect the laptop to the network - which makes a portable laptop useless.
I have uninstalled and re-installed the program with the exact same results.
    Anyone got any dieas?
    Thankyou in advance.

Where, and how, is PrE installed? When you launch it, are you running as an Administrator?
First, PrE wants to be installed competely on the C:\ and wants direct access to the My Documents folder. It also wants to be both installed and then launched from an Administrator account.
It is not designed (nor is the big-brother PrPro) to function in a fully networked environment. It will extract media, etc. from an NAS, or from a mapped networked drive, but it does not like to run under most networked environments.
It's my guess that there is something in this installation that it is not comfortable with. More details will likely help.
Good luck, and looking for the answers to the questions above.

  • [..\..\Src\EMS\WSEMUtil.cpp-675] Adobe Premiere Elements 12

[..\..\Src\EMS\WSEMUtil.cpp-675] keeps popping up when i try to open adobe premiere elements 12? before this it wouldn't launch and kept showing the launch screen, but wouldn't launch.

    canoncamera0
I have not run into any prior reports of [..\..\Src\EMS\WSEMUtil.cpp-675].
Please confirm the wording and spelling of the error message that you are posting.
What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 involved with? And, what is the description of your computer environment - processor, installed/available RAM, free hard drive space, etc. How have you installed the program, from installation files downloaded from Adobe or from installation disc that came in boxed packaging of the product from an authorized reseller?
For now, I will assume that you are working on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit....
    Suggestion
    1. Uninstall the program the usual Control Panel way.
    2. Do a free ccleaner run through (regular cleaner and registry cleaner parts) to get rid of leftovers from incomplete installs and reinstalls.
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download
    3. Reinstall the program with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
    4. Install the 12.1 Update using an opened project's Help Menu/Update
Is this your first use of this program on the computer you are now using?
Lots of possibilities. Let determine the results from the above and then we can consider what next.
    Thank you.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 7 files encountering major errors

I have Adobe Premiere Elements 7 and every time I try to edit certain parts of my movie I get major errors. Here's what I've done to try to fix the problem:
gone through some of the troubleshooting tips from adobe.com
    uninstalled and reinstalled PE7
did a system restore to several days ago when it was working fine
The movie I am editing is over an hour long, and has a variety of movie clips, pictures, narration, and music. When I press play it works pretty good, but when I want to move the narration around or "clear" a certain clip, it goes crazy!! Here's a few of the error boxes I've seen:
    Premiere Elements Debug Event
    [..\..\Src\Sequence\TrackItemTrack.cpp-480]
    and also this one
    [..\..\Src\VideoSegment.cpp-55]
When those come up I can only click "continue" and then it pops up again and again until finally it says that there was an error, it must close down, and it will try to save the project.
This has also come up before the file opens:
Found default catalog. Trying to open the default catalog.
And, when I did the system restore this came up when I opened PE7:
The licensing subsystem has failed catastrophically. You must reinstall or call customer support.
I have a deadline to meet with this movie, but I can't even edit it closes down on me so much! I have tried opening other PE7 movie files and edit them and they seemed to work fine from the little I did. Could it be that the file itself has something wrong with it? I have had minor problems with PE7 before but nothing as bad as this! I have my movie file saved on the computer hard drive, and two separate external hard drives. I have tried opening the file from all three places but they are all the same.
I am not a computer whiz, but If you need any more info, let me know, and please respond ASAP!!
    Thanks!

Well, it's not working again. Here's what happened:
I opened that other file this morning, like I told you. I edited for a few hours, then I added a picture, then tried moving some clips that were grouped together, but instead of moving them it did something else (not sure what) and then it said there was an error and it had to close down (I was able to delete the picture off the timeline, just in case that was causing the problem, which I don't think it was). I was glad to have gotten so much editing in, but really disappointed it wasn't fixed completely like I'd hoped. So I opened PE7 again and it said I needed to save the file as another name. So I did that and kept editing for another few hours, with no major problems. Then, when I was moving something around again there was an error message and it closed down. At this point I was thinking "This isn't good, but hopefully it will open again and work like last time." But no, this time, the file wouldn't even OPEN!! This is the worst it's been. Those same error messages come up (PE Debug Event) and a new one too:
Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error
    Program: ...\AdobePremiereElements7.0\AdobePremiereElements.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I've been having a few minor problems with Windows Vista as well, such as the scroll bar on the Internet going up and down like crazy for several seconds, and also a runtime error (similar to the one above) when I open a folder under my computer. Could it be I have a virus? I have Vipre antivirus installed on my computer so hopefully that is taking care of anything like that.
I can open a copy of the movie file I made earlier today (but I'm not sure yet if I can edit with it or not - I don't want to make a bunch of changes and lose my work!), but not the latest file I worked on that had the last problems. Here are my project presets:
(this forum won't let me copy and paste!)
    General
    Editing Mode: DV NTSC
    Timebase: 29.97 frames/second
    Video:
    Frame size 720 horiz. 480 vert. 16:9
Pixel Aspect Ratio: D1/DV NTSC Widescreen 16:9 (1.2)
    Fields: Lower Field First
Display format: 30 fps Drop-Frame Timecode
    Audio:
    Sample rate: 48000Hz
    Display format: audio samples
    Capture format: DV capture
    Video Rendering
    Maximum bit depth (not checked)
    Previews:
    File Format: DV NTSC
    Compressor: DV NTSC
    Color Depth: millions of colors
    Optimize stills (checked)
The narration is a .wav file,
    the pictures are .jpg
the videos are all .avi (some were conformed from .MTS to.avi with PE7 under SHARE)
By "assets, stills, video etc. on the timeline" do you mean I should tell you everything I have on the timeline in order? Or did you mean something else? I was a little confused by that (I'm a visual person and so new to this!).
Thanks so much for your help!!

  • I am receiving the following error when launching Adobe Premiere Elements 13

I am receiving the following error when launching Adobe Premiere Elements 13: Premiere Elements Debug Event Preferences.cpp-353 . I am running this on a Win 7 64 bit device on a Windows domain.  The user is not a network/local administrator.  Any ideas?

Are you running the program from a Domain or Local Administrative type User Account? Apparently not Local Administrative by your description in the introduction?
Last time we had this type of issue, the user was coming from a Domain type of account. The issue remains in that thread unresolved although there was some intervention
    by Adobe Staff.
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1638947?start=0&tstart=0
Is yours a separate matter or are you related to the user in the other thread?
Please review and consider, supply more details, and then we can decide what next.

  • Error message when downloading Adobe Premiere Elements 11

When attempting to download the Adobe Premiere Elements 11 from the cd, I'm getting an error message that reads: "The installation process has encountered an error while installing Shared Technologies. Please restart your system and try again".I'm using a Windows 7 Operating System. When I attempt the download again, I get the same error message.

    Curtis Baughman
Many of us have encounted this issue. The problem is not confined to a particular version or computer operating. Many homemade remedies and scientific ones have worked for some and not others. The most recent fix was offered by an ID by the name of Maud Barbara and seems to have been the answer for that user and at least one more.
Maud Barbara's fix can be found at the end of the very long thread on the subject found
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1121947?start=40&tstart=0
    The rough Google Translate went
    Hello
I had the same problem as you and I just d have the solution:
    go to C / program files (86) / common files/OOBE
    Rename OOBE by OLDOOBE
    and your problem is resolved
    You can reinstall the software
What worked for me in this case was none of the above. How I and others navigated this installation problem is documented in the thread cited.
We look forward to your results to see what turned out to work for you.
    Thanks.

  • No Disk Error for Adobe Premiere Elements 12

I installed Adobe Premiere Elements 12 to my PC. Everytime I load the software, I get this annoying alert saying that there is no disk located error. I can get it to go away if I click on try again a bunch of times, but I want to get rid of this problem. It should NOT be happening. SOME BODY TELL ME WHAT TO DO PLEEAASE!

    Blue Mask
Please check out recent thread which sought to solve the disc error message that appears to be similar to what you are reporting
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/6246049#6246049
There was no definitive answer. Still waiting for follow up to the latest line of questions in that thread.
Suggestions about this being a long time issue are a bit misleading. In versions of Premiere Elements earlier than 12, there was a SmartSound/Sonicfire Pro 5  feature which appeared to be linked to the disc error message. And, updating SmartSound/Sonicfire Pro 5 was claimed to be the cause and remedy for the disc error message.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1300410
However, SmartSound/Sonicfire Pro 5 is no longer a feature in Premiere Elements 12. Premiere Elements 12 does have a Music Score feature, similar in principle to SmartSound soundtracks, but the SmartSound feature is gone in version 12.
Please review that information in the link above and let us know if any of it works for you.
    Thank you.

Sorry for all the delays getting your thread moving forward. I suspect that it got lost in the daily thread traffic and Adobe's major updating of the forums.
Do your issues still exist. If they are the same as when you posted on May 8th, then
    1. When you used HandBrake for the converslion of your .mov file, did you leave the Container = Mp4. And under Video Tab, did you set the Videc Codec = H.264 (x264)? All you needed to do at that point was dot the Constant for the frame rate and designate a frame rate and select the Start button and wait for the Queue Finished message in the progress bar at the bottom left of the HandBrake workspace.
    2. What model iPhone is the video coming from? Your iPhone is probably giving you HD video (probably 1080p). So increasing the computer's installed RAM from 2.00 to 4 GB would be expected to help the overall workflow. Only if you have a 64 bit computer operating system, 8 GB installed would be even better. The 4 GB installed RAM is the maximum supported by a 32 bit computer operating system.
    3. Specially for
The movie is stopping and jumping.
When you are playing back the Timeline content, are you looking at the "rendered Timeline"? Is there an red line over the content during that playback? If so, press the Enter key and wait for the render process to complete. This rendering process gives you the best possible preview of what you are seeing. The red  line could be due to your editing the content, or it could be due to an incorrect selection of project settings. If you supply information about your video properties, we can suggest the best possible project settings. I do not recall seeing that you mentioned what version of Premiere Elements that you are using 1, 2, 3, 4 or other?
Please review the above and then let me know what supplemental information and/or clarification would help.
    Thank you.

  • Another "Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Elements to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project."

When I try an open the original project or a copy of it I get this message.
"Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Elements to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project."
I have tried to create a new project and get the same message.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program a few times.
The last time I worked on the project I had no issues.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi
    a. Open Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 - Yes, I get the welcome screen (v9.0).  I can choose open project, and choose my project.  The program will open and show that it is loading the project with the scroll line will show all the way to 100% and will stay there.  Sometimes I get the "Sorry" message and sometimes the loading project window just goes away and nothing is loaded and the program stays on the clock until I close it.
    b. You can find the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and deletion of it makes no difference to your issue. - Made no difference
    c. Have you deleted the whole 9.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists? If not, please do so. - Done, made no difference
    1. Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled? - Running McAfee Total Access Protection.  Turned off firewall and anti virus. It works.  As a test I left the anti virus off and tried loading project with and with out the firewall turned on.  The project loaded each time.  I then tested the firewall on, with and with out antivirus.  Antivirus off - project loads each time.  Antivirus on - doesn't load and program stays on clock.
I will continue to experiment with it and see what happens.  The last time I used it I was running a different McAfee product than no.  So it seems to work with the Firewall on and the Antivirus off.

  • Premiere Elements 7, Sorry, a serious error has occurred  that requires Adobe Premiere Elements to..

Hi, my software just recently started giving me the folowing error and it does not work (start):
Sorry, a serious error has occured that requires Adone Premiere Elements to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project.
I had tried everything, even uninstalling and reinstalling the program and still it does not work. Does anybody have this issue?
Do you know how to fix it?

I found the root casue of the problem. I just turn OFF the McAfee antivirun software and the Premiere Elements 7 works now.
I realized that McAfee updated the version on April 20 and i think this version has a problem with the Adobe Premiere Elements programm.

  • Premiere Elements 9 - "Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Elements....

When I start up a new project in Premiere Elements 9, the only thing that comes up is the gray screen.  When I try to open any existing project, I get the following message:
"Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Elements to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project."
I have tried all of the suggestions on this website and still, nothing works.  Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

First question that comes to mind is "Is this a never worked before type issue or it worked before but not now type issue?"
What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 9 running on? Do you have the Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 Update installed? And, the typical drill questions, do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed and are you working from a User Account with Administrative Priviledges?
Since Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 is a 32 bit application, we would revisit the question of your computer resources...processor, installed/available RAM, free hard drive space? Is your computer optimized...defragmented, video and audio card drivers up to date, pile ups preview files and conformed video and audio files cleaned out? Scratch Disks directed to save location with enough free space to receive them?
Have you checked to make sure that antivirus and firewalls are not contributing to or causing the issue?
Another thought...are you running a dual (or more) monitor setup with your current video card?
Please review and then we can decide what next.
    Thanks.
