Adobe Premiere Elements 10 software upgrade / will my Adobe Premiere Elements 9 book work?

I bought a new pc with Adobe premiere elements 9 preinstalled. So I ordered Steve's muvipix 9 book. I had to up grade to the new adobe 10 for stability (64 bit program). Here's my question, Do I need to spend $39.00 on the new version 10 book? Would I be ok with the version 9 muvipix adobe premiere elements book ? Help advise please. Rick

There are a couple of nice new features -- but the version 9 book will get you about 98% of the way there.

Media cache files are not involved in the removal of the Adobe watermark from the project.prel file from a tryout.
Just a re-enforcement mention...you cannot remove the Adobe watermark from a tryout "saved" exported product; whereas, you can from a saved/closed project file (project.prel).
By exported product, I mean a burn to disc in the tryout or the Timeline of the tryout exported to a file saved to the computer hard drive.
In the case of removing the Adobe watermark from the tryout project.prel, classically you delete the rendered files (Timeline Menu/Delete Rendered Files) in the purchased program. In no way is media cache involved in this. Some of us have found that there was an automatic removal of the Adobe watermark resulting from just opening the tryout project.prel file in the purchased program.
Please review and consider.

Mac OSX Photoshop Elements 11 upgrade will not install

I downloaded Photoshop Elements 11 (upgrade) after purchase, and then tried to install.
I get the Agree to License page OK,
Enter Serial No - I get a green check mark,
I enter Adobe ID and Password, and it authenticates,
then the Option Page. Product "Photoshop Elements ..." is shown with an icon and a grayed out check mark in the left column.
"Adobe Photoshop Elements ..." is in the column to the right, but the "All Components" is grayed out and cannot be clicked.
I have tried to click on the "Photoshop Elements ..." but nothing happens
The Install button is NOT grayed out
If I click the Install button, nothing happens - I mean nothing - no error indication,,,, nothing - it clicks in but nothing happens.
Is there a logfile somewhere which can tell me why it is not installing?
BTW, it is an upgrade but it never asks me for a previous full version serial number. Perhaps that is only done at activation?

Thanks Jeff, but it only asks for the current serial number - Which I know is not right.
I did get it to install, however, by manually going in and deleteing all references to Adobe from my system. The Installer is not handling an exception properly and is failing. Sorry, that's a bug. The offending file apparently was in /library/application support/Adobe. For my purposes, I only have to re-install one additional product to insure that everything still works. The fact that it installed an update without asking for a previous serial number is also a bug - perhaps the same bug not completely cleaned up. My opinion is that they either have to fix the installer or offer a cleaner - maybe there is a cleaner but I did not know about it. I am marking this as complete but the developers clearly have some work here. Perhaps it is not possible to handle every exception - I can accept that also.

Question about 1st iTouch Software Upgrade - Will it delete everything?

I have a first generation itouch and want to upgrade the software to 3.1.3 so I can add apps but when i click the upgrade button it tells me that the upgrade will delete all my media including items purchased on itunes. Does that mean it is going to completely erase my iTouch music/movies..etc? I manage my synchs manually because i have music on there from my friend's iTunes library, i dont want to loose all that media...HELP!

You can only really sync to one library but, as you are doing you can manage music with more than one computer. When you update on your syncing computer it will restore the contents with those on that computer. The music from other computer's library will be deleted. Sorry.

Adobe Elements 13 upgrade will not install

Adobe Elements upgrade to 13 will not install on any other drive but C:\ even though I designated another drive in the installer. It only installs on C:\ and I DO NOT HAVE SPACE ON C. It is replacing Adobe Elements 10 which did install successfully on my drive B!
If I can't get the upgrade to install on another drive, please send me back my money.

Download of the upgrade to Elements 10 does not start at all.

Try uninstalling the app, reinstalling it again, and upgrading that one. That works for me a lot of times, and for a variety of (legal, I can assure you) reasons we have two or even three different versions of eight different Adobe apps running on different computers. Re-install is something I used to try after four (or 30! Lol) hours of various fixes. Now I do it first and often do not need to try a second or third alternative fix.

Elements 10 upgrade will not play sound

Hi all
I loaded a mov file to edit in elements10. The picture is fine but i have no sound at all. I do see the audio wave in the audio area, so im a little confused why it will not play or rather i cannot hear sound. Ive cheacked my audio settings and they seem to be on and working. The file is a hd 24fps mov file from my T3i hddslr camera. On the camera and in windows the sound is working.
Its been about a year since i used cs4-5 premier for a videographer class. So i am familiar with the software sort of. I know people that have used elements for their indy films and not have issues like this. Any help would be great.

As a test, I would Import a known good WAV file, say one of the system's Sounds, and drag it to the Timeline. Do you hear the Audio from that WAV file?
For general Audio issues, and settings, this ARTICLE might be helpful.
When you Import any file with Audio, PrE will need a few moments to Conform the Audio. If this process is not allowed to complete, one can loose the Audio. This ARTICLE goes into more detail on Conforming Audio.

Will the new premiere pro edit and save changes to avchd losslessly?

Hi,
I want to buy a new premiere elements to replace my old one (vrsn 3), can I upgrade it still or is it too old? Or should I still stick to Premiere elements?
Also, will the new premiere pro edit and save changes to avchd files from Panasonic and Canon without losing any quality?
I came across 'provides native support for avchd'; what does it mean? Does it mean that I can edit and save avchd files with out losing quality?

Software upgrade needed ?

I have version 10.5.8 on my 2007 iMac
Its been a while since i noticed any software upgrade and I worry about security.
do i need to upgrade to a newer version of OS X to get the latest security update and patches ?
is 10.5.8 not supported by apple anymore for software upgrade ?
ps: My safari also crashes frequently and haven't noticed so much with other applications. it may also be due to limited RAM I have (1GB 667 MHz), but other apps don't seem to be affected. I am hoping a software upgrade will help with the instability issue

The first step in Upgrading... is to Snow Leopard = OS X 10.6.x

Did you downloaded the Firmware Update from HP ePrint Center or throught the product download page?
If you downloaded it from ePrint Center, try using the tool below:

If you still have any issue, and the device connected through the network, try to temporary connect the device with USB, reeboot your Mac and try launching the tool once again.

First dumb software upgrade ever

Please -- someone tell me -- why would Software Update allow download and installation of new OSX software (iTunes 7.4.2) on top of an OS version that does not support it? Apple updates have always -- ALWAYS -- been the most intelligent in terms of not messing up one's system but someone surely dropped the ball here. So: do I upgrade to 10.4.7 or do I reinstall iTunes 7.2 (on my PPC G4 PB/OSX 10.4.2)? I lean towards the latter: there was little wrong with 10.4.2 AFAICS. What do you advise?

Thanks so much for your help. I followed your instructions and everything was fine (even w/o repairing permissions). What surprised me was that in this case Apple's software upgrade simply wrote IT742 right over a working copy of IT72, rendering IT inoperable. The installer might at least have checked the OS version and asked: "if you install this version of IT on this version of MacOSX, IT will not run without an OS upgrade -- continue Y/N?". I am very happy with MacOS 10.4.2, so would have answered N. I have been using Macs since the year dot and it was always amazingly intelligent about not screwing things up, so I was a littel shocked. I guess we have been spoiled by Apple in the past!

Software that will make the Platinum 5.1 card work on Windows XP computer

I've had Soundblaster Li've! 5. Platinum card in my Windows 98 computer since 200 and it works fine. I recently bought a computer from an auction which has Window XP Professional Service Pack 3 installed. I would like to unplug the sound card from my Windows 98 computer and plug it into my Windows xp computer since I really would like to stop using Windows 98 since the Windows xp computer that I now have is much better.
Since posts on your forum indicate that the installation CD of this sound card does not work with Windows XP, I am wondering whether I can download software that will make the Platinum 5. card work on my Windows xp computer.

LabVIEW 5.0 is not officially supported on Windows XP, as it was released before XP was released. However, it will most likely work, other than a "Wrong OS" message that you may recieve during installation. I have successfully installed LabVIEW 5.0 on my XP machine and not run into any trouble.
