Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0  encoding to DVD disk

While the DVD is burning the encoded video for 5 or 10 minutes it suddenly stops and this error message comes up "unkown error" 2130969345.
Any ideas what is going on?
Al

This comes up from time to time and appears to be the result of the DVD media that is used. Try some different DVDs.. slower ones if you can find them... 8x for example

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12/12.1 running on? For now, assuming Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit....
In the Premiere Elements 12/12.1 Expert workspace, go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disc and set the location for the category
    named Disc Encoding.
Please let us know if that works for you.
    Thank you.

  • Can't start Adobe Premiere Elements 13 video editor.

It says: "Adobe Premiere Elements 13 has stopped working" without additional details. It doesn't close, it is not frozen, but it does not work.
I tried Adobe Premiere Elements 12 (trial version) which had no problem at all on my PC. I'm using the 64 bit version on Windows 7. I've tried to re-start the pc, to uninstall PRE 12, but this does not work. I have access to the Organizer though. Has anyone manages to get PRE 13 installed?

    Thanks for your follow ups.
Let us focus on Premiere Elements 13 Windows 7 64 bit computer.
Let go through the usual drill questions...
    a. Does problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled? Is your antivirus program McAfee?
    b. Are you running the program from a User Account with Administrative Privileges and have also selected and applied Run
As Administrator to the desktop icon of the program?
    c. Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer.
    d. Can you open the program using the Adobe Premiere Elements.exe file instead of the Adobe Premiere Elements 13.exe?
See Local Disk C\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 13\
    Please consider
    a. Go to Control Panel/Programs and assure that Adobe Premiere Elements 12 and 13 are not showing as installed programs.
    If they are, uninstall.
    b. Do a free ccleaner run through (regular and registry parts) to get rid of any leftovers from incomplete installs or uninstalls.

    c. Reinstall Premiere Elements 13 with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.

  • Adobe premiere elements and roaming profiles problem

We bought Adobe premiere elements 12 for use in our school lab environment and after lots of struggle I now see that it doesn't support roaming profiles. Is there a fix for this or have we wasted lots of money.
Is there a way to change the default save location during deployment?

I know that it have to be installed on the c: drive. But my question is if there are any way to change the default save location during deployment. Because Premiere will be installed on c:\program files\adobe\ adobe premiere elements 12\ but the default scratch disks and project location will be automatically tried to save to their roaming profiles the first time and causing the problem.
Remember this is in a lab environment and new users will log on all the time and therefore get the error messages failures.
    Again, my question is:
Is there a way to change the default start location during DEPLOYMENT (we use Configuration manager 2012) so that it will always start on for example c:\localmedia instead of their documents or appdata folders which are inside their roaming profile.

  • Problem encountered with Adobe premiere Element 4 et DVD sony Handicam

I have a sony Handycam DCR/DVD203E . Window Vista edition familiale premium service pack 1 .Adobe Première Elements 4 .
I take 10 rushes of 2 minutes each . I finalised the DVD for importing it on my computer under Adobe Elements 4 .
When i do " add médias " , I only get two files , one called VTS_01_1.VOB which is the total of my 10 rushes but it's only one rush of 20 minutes .I get also an error message " C:\users\Videos\20081125\VIDEO_TS... FORMAT ERROR or file correupted/a component needed is may be not installed .
I shoud get my 10 rushes of 2 minutes instead of one rush of 20 minutes film .

Just a few clarifications first. Rushes, are the quick (hence the name rush) optical prints made from cine negative film. Their intention is for viewing, quickly, the results of the previous day's filming. They are not color corrected, or manipulated in any way. They are also not edited, other than being spliced together, take after take, so the crew and decision-makers can see what was captured. These are usually discarded soon after selections are made and decisions are finalized. The original negatives are then cut in the editing process and, when complete, are printed to positive projection stock with color and density corrections. Now, the final output is more often some digital format for commercial distribution.
What we have are 2 min. Clips, in digital capture parlance. However, lets go back a moment to the first paragraph. Just like the negative film stock, this Sony camera shoots to DVD. Just like cine negative, with an editing workflow, something else has to be done. Unlike the negative film stock, the DVD can actually be viewed in an optically correct, albeit unedited, format.
The .VOB files on the DVD are part of the inherent file structure of that medium, the DVD-video and are made up of MPEG-2 (DVD-spec) compressed files with very specific criteria. Unfortunately, the aspects that go into creating an instantly viewable medium, add some problems to doing any editing with it - first there is the structure .VOB, next, the initial compression to MPEG-2. Neither is ideal, if one plans on using an NLE (Non-Linear Editing) workflow. The .VOB structure will have to be converted at some point, and the MPEG-2 compression will have to be decompressed into another format, and most likely, be re-compressed back to MPEG-2, if the final output will go to DVD. Substitute that second MPEG-2 re-compression with Flash, WMV, or whatever, should the intent be streaming media.
Steve has addressed the problem head-on, which is a good way to tackle it. This is intended to just add a bit, to what he has already written, not to correct anything, or change anything.
With the proliferation of more and more non-tape capture devices, i.e. cameras, on the market, one must make a conscious decision, as to what they will ultimately wish to do with the footage captured. While it CAN be edited, with certain limitations, it is first designed to be viewed in its raw form. It handles this last job well - just pop the DVD/mini-DVD into a player and view, or hook the camera directly to the TV (or through other devices attached to the TV) and view. Editing, however, becomes a bit more complex, and needs to be well-thought out, and planned for.
The FAQs, at the top of these pages, go a long way to helping make informed decisions, come editing time. The compromises are outlined pretty well. Yes, there
    b WILL
be compromises, as the medium is not designed to be editable in the first place. It is a delivery/viewing medium. This should be a strong consideration, when shopping for a video, or still/video camera. What will I want to do with the material generated by that camera? Do I want to just record and view, or do I want to edit, before the final presentation of the material? If one is here, in the Adobe Premiere Elements (or Premiere Pro) forum, then it is likely that some editing is intended. If one has gone with a tape-based capture device, the editing path is clear - Capture, edit, Export. If one has gone with a HDD (hard drive), DVD, magnetic storage camera, decisions have to be made and some planning must go into the process of editing. Then is the time to learn the proper workflow (will differ dependant on the exact process of capture, that the device uses), and will pay dividends. Learning what compromises will have to be made and how best to keep these to a minimum, will be needed.
The ease, with which these non-tape devices capture the footage, does not belie what lies ahead, should one wish to later edit. They seem so simple - shoot, then view. However, there the simplicity ends. It is later editing, that must be heavily contemplated. These forums, and especially the FAQs (remember, they are at the top of the main pages) are a good place to learn what comes next. The simplicity quickly peels away and a lot of new techniques need to be learned. As Dorothy commented, were not in Kansas anymore, Toto... If one wishes to get good results from the editing of this type of material, they need to be ready to learn. This might also be an instance, where learning by reading (first), is far preferable to learning by doing. It is far less frustrating. One also needs to be ready to dig deeply into their toolbox, which might well contain a lot of extra programs, to accomplish the task, in the best manner. Even for tape-based editing, one can never have enough tools in that toolbox, i.e. 3rd party utilities and programs.
As an aside, I use PEs big brother, Premiere Pro, for my editing. However, I picked up PE as another tool in the process, as it does some things better than big brother does. Never be shy of using the right tools, even if it means that you have to go outside of PE and even Adobe.

  • Importing DVD to Adobe Premiere Element 12

I have just recently purchased Adobe Premiere Element 12 and Photoshop pack. I am completely at a loss how to import a dvd (movies, anime). I downloaded a decrypter and then uploaded the disc onto a USB drive. After loading up the file into Adobe the whole movie was a huge mess, everything was choppy. Pinnacle studio came with a device that linked up the movie maker to the dvd player to capture clips. Is there something that I need to buy for Adobe Premiere? Do I need to do anything with Photoshop? Appreciate any answers

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12/12.1 running on? If you have not updated 12 to 12.1 Update using an opened project's Help Menu/Update, please do so.
To your immediate...if you are using Premiere Elements, you do not need to do any conversions. I repeat that, you do not.
You simply insert your DVD disc with its DVD-VIDEO format in the burner tray and use Premiere Elements 12/12.1's Add Media/DVD camera or computer drive/Video Importer/ to get the video files from the disc into the Premiere Elements project. The file(s) that you seek are in the VIDEO_TS Folder on the disc and typically have the name starting with VTS_01_1.VOB. Depending on how much you have on the DVD disc, you might have additional files in the series
VTS_01_2.VOB and so on, maybe even the start and use of a VTS_02_01.VOB.
It would probably be safer in the beginning to set the project preset manually for either
    NTSC DV Standard
    NTSC DV Widescreen
    or PAL counterpart
depending on format on disc standard 4:3 or widescreen 16:9 and for NTSC or PAL setup.
The instructions on how to set the project preset manually instead of letting the project do it is a general principle and not restricted to your particular type of project. Please see information in following link about this and instruction for setting the project preset manually.

With versions earlier than 11, there is no more Sign In. If you get any message to that effect, ignore and cancel out of them. You should be able to move forward to your import, editing, and exports using the program nonetheless.
As for the disc menus, those marked photoshop.com plus members only are no longer available to you in versions of Premiere Elements earlier than 11. You may see the thumbnails for those members only items, but they are no longer available to you in Premiere Elements earlier than 10.
Interestingly, many of them are found in Premiere Elements 11, 12, and 13 as part of the program with no need to purchase them or have any special membership in anything. Adobe has promoted Adobe Revel as a replacement for photoshop.com, but that has no impact on this disc menus issue.
This all has to do with Adobe discontinuing photoshop.com and photoshop.com plus et al.
If you need to download regular disc menus for Premiere Elements 10, please review the following
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE 7, 8, 9,10: Content Download
    Bottom lines:
    1. No more Sign In for Premiere Elements 10
    2. No access to photoshop.com plus (members only) disc menus

  • Dvd Menu Adobe Premiere Elements 10 for Mac with bad resolution

    Hi, I use a MacBookPro with Mac OS X 10.6.8 - Intel Core i5 2,4 GH - RAM 4 GB.
I just purchased PRE 10 version hoping to solve a problem I had with version 9 for Mac but not with a version 7 for Win.
    I
My problem is that when I burn the dvd with the final work in PAL system, the menu of the DVD has the text very blurred at a very bad resolution.
I searched this forum and I didn't found a similar problem for Mac user.
I had the same problem with PRE 9.
Same problem if I insert a logo in the corner of the video. Very bad resolution image in the final dvd.
I tried to change the beginning resolution of the image from very low to very high and the result was the same.
Someone has similar problems? Someone did find a way to solve it?

Dear Bill, many thanks for your answer.
This is the Project Preset chosen.
As the source is a JVC Everio with hard disk, I chose PAL - Hard Disk - Widescreen 48 KHz
The source is as I said a JVC Everio in SD size. I saved the files in a backup Hard Disk. They are .mod files.
I don't know how to see if a Menu Sets is HD or SD. I tried almost all the available Menu Sets always with the same blurry results.
These images explain better than words.
Note that the firt image in the DVD Menu is perfect, not blurry. And this add a little bit of mystery :-)
this is the scene selection that has text blurry
And this is the logo I put in the right bottom side of the video. It is blurry. I put a high resolution image and it was blurry. Then I tried with an image .png with the same width of the video (720 pixels) and this is the same blurry effect:
The solution I use in these days to have goog results is very time expensive.
I make the editing work in my mac, without logo and menu. I make a dvd. Then I import the VIDEO_TS folder in my old pc, with my old version of Adobe Premiere 7.0. I insert the logo, I make the menu and then I make a dvd with my old PC and the resolution is the one I want.
Obviolusly I'd like to do all the work in my Mac...
The same problems and solution I used also with PRE 9.0
By the way, I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements in my Mac instead  iMovie because I need to do videos longer than 2 hours. And iMovie has this limit.
Many thanks in advance for help. There is someone that is using Mac and PRE 10 with GOOD results?

  • I downloaded the Valentines Day DVD menu theme in Adobe Premiere Elements 11, but won't work

It's downloaded but it won't set everything up like the other DVD menu themes when you click on them. Why is this happening?

    pnasty09
Thanks for the reply. How many of the other themes have you tried so that you know it is just this one theme that has a problem?
Assuming that your Premiere Elements 11 is on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit computer, let us try deleting the Premiere Elements 11 settings file which is named Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs.
    With Premiere Elements 11 closed,
    Local Disc C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    11.0
and in the 11.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 11.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. In order to see the complete path cited above, be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active.
    Thanks.

Irgendwie verstehst du da grundsätzlich was falsch.

  • Timing discrepancy between burned DVD and Adobe Premiere Elements 12

Why does the DVD I burned have a different total time (1:54:35) as compared to the ending time in Adobe Premiere Elements 12 (1:54:42)?
A similar thing happened a week ago too, when the raw video when played in Windows Media didn't match up with the timing after I put the video in Elements and someone had given me editing work based on time specifications per what they saw in Windows Media, and I couldn't use it because it was seconds off of what was showing up in Elements. Further it wasn't a consistent timing different--sometimes it was 3 seconds behind other times it was 5 seconds ahead--very frustrating.
Anyone know why/how to fix this problem?

    VTS_01_1.VOB given duration 28 minutes 25 seconds
    VTS_01_2.VOB given duration 28 minutes 28 seconds
    VTS_01_3.VOB given duration 28 minutes 26 seconds
    VTS_01_4.VOB given duration 28 minutes 25 seconds
    VTS-01_5.VOB given duration 0 minutes 56 seconds
Also when looking at VTS-01_5.VOB it shows this:
So if you add 1:53:39:12 to 0:00:56:576 that equals 1:54:35:696--basically what Windows Media Player and my DVD player is reporting.

  • Can Adobe Premiere Elements 12 burn a dual layer dvd disk?  If not, which of the components is at fault?

When I spoke to a person about upgrading from Premiere Elements 10 to 12, I specifically asked if the program could burn DUAL LAYER 8.5 dvds and I was told that it could.  That is the ONLY reason that I upgraded.  Since recording in full HD the files are larger.  I video plays for local theaters. I have been trying to burn a disk that is 7.5GB (2 hours 15 minutes).  I bought RIDATA -RDL 4x 8.5GB disks.  Then had a dual layer burner installed in my computer.  Premiere Element dialog "incompatible disk" The RITDATA says the problem is Adobe, the Geek Squad says the problem is Adobe.
SO ANSWER THIS QUESTION: Can Adobe Premiere Elements 12 burn a dual layer dvd disk?  If not, which of the components is at fault?  I am trying to burn 18 copies of this video (no copyright infringements) and don't tell me to to divide it into 3 disks.

    drowning
Can Adobe Premiere Elements 12 burn a dual layer dvd disk?
    Short answer: Yes.
What are you burning to DVD disc - DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc or AVCHD format on DVD?
Does your DVD CD burner support double layer single sided discs?
Premiere Elements is supposed to (been there and done that....)
    1. burn to Folder (8.5) for Publish+Share/Disc/DVD and Publish+Share/Disc/AVCHD
(you take the VIDEO_TS for the former and BDMV Folder in the latter to a program like ImgBurn
for the actual burn to the DVD double layer single sided disc)
    2. burn to disc 8.5 GB/240 minutes
Have you gone the burn to folder Folder (8.5 GB) route?
Have you tried another brand of disc in spite of by the disc manufacturer and the Geek Squad are telling you?
A double layer single sided disc is labelled 8.5 GB/240 minutes. In reality, that 8.5 GB is 7.95 GB. Where are you
coming up with 7.5 GB for your disc? Was that due to typing glitch?
Please review and consider. Any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
