Adobe Premiere elements 4 error

I keep receiving this error message any time I use the edge feather video effect on pictures which on in psd file in adobe premiere elements 4
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p64/sapphirecharmed/premiere_error.png
This problem just started early today. It was working fine yesterday.
My computer specs:
Custom made PC
Windows XP Home sp.2
2GB ram
cpu 3.0 GHZ
C:\ 240 GB D:\99.5 GB

Along those lines, has the Edge Feather Effect ever worked for you? Do all of the other Effects work fine. Do a short "test" Project, say one Clip from the Samples. Add every Effect, that you can think of, one at a time, and Render, then Play. Maybe more than one Effect acting up.
It could well be that that the .PMP file has become corrupted. If that is the case, a Repair Install could possibly find that, and fix it. I find Adobe's Repair Installs to be pretty good. Initially, they are slow, because they survey every module, plug-in and piece of the program, doing a checksum on it all. This is usually accurate, though I suppose the installer could miss something, and hence not repair it. Still, for me, they have cleaned up damaged files in the Adobe programs quite well. I'd always try this, before an uninstall/reinstall.
Corruption, or similar, can occur for many reasons. One could be using it, and have a system, or program crash. An update to almost anything can overwrite, or otherwise render an element useless. Gremlins in the computer can eat part of the code. [OK, that last one is a joke, but things that are totally unexplained, can cause it - we never know exactly what it was.] Sometimes, I think that the 1's & 0's just get tired of being who they are, and decide to swap places for a while...
Good luck,
Hunt

  • Problem with Adobe Premiere Elements 10 : error DW046

    Dear community members,
I have bought Adobe Premiere Elements  10 and installed it from the DVDs on my MAC OSX10.5.8 on december 27, 2013
When creating a new project , I get the following message :
following a serious error, Premiere Elements 10 must stop
Then I click OK and I get a new message :
The Premiere 10 application has closed suddenly after having been rebooted
Then I end up to the error report window. I have sent the error report  to Apple  ( I can send it to you if you want)
I have also got the following error message :
DW046 : following conflicting process were running, block : dynamiclinkmanager
Notice : it seems this problem is occuring since I underwent a power failure while working on a project. When I want to open an existing project I get the following message :
it seems that Premiere Elements has closed in an unexpected way during the last session. Do you want to open the previous project?
When I say YES, I save it and it comes back to the welcome menu and I cannot see this project.
I have tried to deinstall and reinstall Premiere 10 : this is impossible since I am required to deactivate dynamiclinkmanager that I cannot find.
Notice that Adobe AIR is unable to find a solution whilst it recognizes there is a problem.
    Thanks you for your help

    AT Romano,
The various links you have provided were very helpful. I could kill the dynamiclinkmanager.
It seems that it is now working.
Thank you, your reply was very quick and your advices very good

    When you get the message
it seems that Premiere Elements has closed in an unexpected way during the last session. Do you want to open the previous project?
Do you go to the last AutoSave to open that or do you go to the save location of the project file (project.prel) to open that file?
Are you getting message to close the dynamiclinkmanager so that you can move forward?
If so, please check out dynamiclinkmanager location in the following link

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 10 - Error 6

I've uninstalled and then reinstalled, and this is the second time it's happened. This pop-up occurs when I try and open any project or attempt to start the program. After I reinstalled the first time last night, it worked fine after opening the program only 4 or 5 times, and then it gave me the error again. I've searched everywhere and can't find an easy fix for this, or maybe I'm not looking hard enough. I don't know if it's even worth it to mess with a customer support, the thought just terrifies me...
    Computer Specs:
    NVIDIA NVS 5200M - version 320.86
    Windows 7
    Intel(R) Core (TM) i7-3720QM CPU @ 2.60 GHZ
    8.00 GB RAM
    64 bit OS
Any help would be much appreciated, I'm no computer wiz but I hope some of you are!

    awakenwithbacon
Typically Adobe supports only the current version (which is 12)/purchased/registered. But someone reported just the other day that Adobe was supporting 11 and 12. But you have 10....
How would you class your issue "It worked before but not now" or "it never worked before"?
Typically those Exit 6 or 7 error messages are associated with installations that end with errors. I am assuming the your Error 6 is the Exit 6 Error code.
Is your NVIDIA card = NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M? If so, my first instinct would be to point you in the direction of the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA GeForce issue detailed with fix at the top of this forum. The fix being the roll back of the driver version to about May 2013.
Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back
If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card and you are experiencing
Premiere Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your first line of troubleshooting needs to be rolling
back the video card driver version instead of assuring that it is up to date.
Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained workflow
glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce video card. If this applies
to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as far as is necessary to get rid of
the problems. The typical driver roll back has gone back as far as March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere
Elements 10. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any corrective action in this regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.
Since October 2013, the following thread has tried to keep up with the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA reports
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1317675
Older NVIDIA GeForce drivers can be found
    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us
A February 2014 overview of the situation as well as how to use the older NVIDIA GeForce drivers for the driver roll back can be found
    http://atr935.blogspot.com/2014/02/pe10-nvidia-video-card-roll-back.html
But if your details are correct, driver version 320.86, you are working with an old driver anyway. But, you might want to roll the
driver version back a few dates beyond that one to rule in or out any involvement in the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA GeForce issue.
If you rule out the video card driver version, we could look at deleting the Premiere Elements 10 Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and
the whole 10.0 Folder in which it exists.
    Local Disk C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    10.0
and in the 10.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 10.0 Folder
in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and
Drives active so that you can see the complete path.
Also, determine if the problem exists with or without the antivirus disabled.
Let us go through the above and determine where we stand after that. Please do not hesitate to ask for clarification on anything that I have
written. I will rewrite if necessary.
    Thank you.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 10 Error 1 or [..\..\Src\DirectoryRegistery.cpp-283.

I installed Adobe Premiere Elements 10.  When I double click on the shortcut icon , I get configuration error 1 which tells me to uninstall/reinstall and then contact Adobe support if it happens again.    Uninstalling/reinstalling did not resolve problem so I contacted Adobe support.  First time spent about 45 minutes on hold while the person consulted with other colegues and was then disconnected.  After waiting about 1.5 hours for call back, I recalled.    After  about 30 minutes on hold was told that I should call a different number and pay $39  and I could talk to someone who might be able to help me but that this support line did not support this type of problem.  Went to online support.  Was told to add a new password protected user account, uninstall/reinstall and try to open program using new user account.  No joy.    Present status :  If I double click  on shortcut  icon, get configuration error 1.  If I rignt click and try to 'run as current user get  'debug error [..\..\Src\DirectoryRegistery.cpp-283.  If I 'run as the password protected user account get configuration error 1. Note that during the first call, I was sent an email with a 'case number' and a link to check status but the case number has never showed up on the adobe website.   Questions:
    1.  Any suggestions to resolve problem?
    2.  If I pay the $39, is it likely that I will get the problem resolved or simply get the same run around?  I have now uninstalled/reinstalled/restarted at least 6 times and there have really been no other suggestions from Adobe.
    3.  Suggestions for alternative video editing software if I can't ever get Adobe to boot up.  Thanks for your support.

  • Adobe premiere elements 13 error

I have a problem with Adobe premiere elements 13, when in expert mode of the program and I import a MP4 clip from my Minecraft recordings (the recording mod I use is called camera studio mod) the problem is that it jitters, shakes vertically and I cant seem to fix it.
    The file details are this
    MP4
    Length 00:00:18
    Frame size - 1920x1018
    Data rate - 1372kbps
    total bitrate - 1372kbps
    Frame rate - 11
I had the program around 2 to 3 weeks ago, did about 2 YouTube videos with it, and it worked fine. few days later after my second video, I try to work on another video (the cinematic intro) when I noticed it was shaking vertically so I deleted the clips I was going to use for the cinematic intro and I tried reimported them, which did not fix the problem.
After doing a few test with different Minecraft clips I use in my videos, I noticed problem only happens to the clips I'm using for my cinematic. Time-lapse clips work fine.
Next I interpreted the footage and changed its frame rate to 30, just like my time-lapse clips are ( my time-lapse clips are 1920x1018 running at 30 fps and worked fine). This slightly fixed the problem only it sped up the clip a lot which was not the solution I was looking for.
Lastly I tried to stabilize the clip but I came with this error "Stabilizer requires clip dimensions to match project setting. Create a new project." so I tried to do what it recommend me to do, create a new project, and that didn't work, I even tried it in different settings, and still every single one did not work.
Please help me, I like to get back to making YouTube videos, a fast good reply would be appreciated a lot. Thanks

    Kenerad
Let us recap for a moment...
Did you ever get good results using Premiere Elements 13 and specifically the cinematic output from Minecraft?
You seem to have suggested that at the beginning of your thread. If that were the case, we are in a "worked before but
not now situation" rather than "it never worked before".
Assuming "worked before but not now situation"
    a. Can you think of anything different in the before cinematic build (good) versus the after cinematic build (jitters)?
    b. Have you attempted to uninstall/reinstall Premiere Elements 13 (with a free ccleaner run through between the uninstall
and reinstall to get rid of leftovers from incomplete installs reinstalls)?
    c. Have you considered downloading and installing a tryout of a Premiere Elements version earlier than 13 to determine
if it is more supportive of the cinematic footage? In this regard, you could download and install the tryout of Premiere Elements 11 or 12
and test your cinematic footage in it.

Please let us know if any of the above works for you at all.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 9, Error 400

Hello. I can no longer access the past projects I've created in Adobe Premiere Elements 9. I can no longer create new projects or otherwise use the program.
My adobe id login information works when logging into photoshop.com via a browser, but it does not work from the program itself. I get a message reading, "Photoshop.com services are currently unavailable. Please try again later or check your network connections. Error 400."
I have followed instructions on how to update the Inspiration Browser. This includes uninstalling the existing Inspiration Browser. However, clicking on "download the update" takes me to a standard "problem loading page" tap within Firefox. I've tried pasting the URL (eib.assyst.net/PIB/AdobePhotoshopDotcomInspirationBrowser.html) into other browsers. I've tried allowing that site and photoshop.com in general as a trusted site within IE (Firefox is my primary browser). Still doesn't work.
    My web connections are fine.
Adobe informed me during an online chat that my product is "very old" and no longer supported via chat. The box the program came in says 2010.
Any ideas? I've done some Googling and was not encouraged. Thanks.

    mikenw253
At this time I think that talk of photoshop.com and Adobe Revel clouds the situation.
The problem of using the Adobe ID and Password still persists for me in Premiere Elements 7, 8.0/8.0.1, 9.0/9.0.1, and 10. But, the workaround of bypassing the Welcome Screen to get to editing and exporting continues to work.
In view of all this, I suspect that you have more problems than just the sign in.
This is what I would like you to do so that, at least, you can get into the program for editing and exporting even if you cannot use the Adobe ID and Password.
    1. Delete the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file. The path to it is:
    Local Disk C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    9 Folder
and in the 9 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 9 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Make sure that you are working with Folder Options Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see that path.
if that does nothing to help...then
    2. Next, go to Administrative Tools/Services/FLEXnet Licensing Service and make sure that Startup Type = Automatic and Service Status = Started.
if that does nothing to help...then
    3. If all of the above do not get you at least into the edit workspace, then do a complete and clean uninstall via the usual Control Panel way. Then run the program through ccleaner (regular and registry cleaning). Next reinstall Premiere Elements 9 and then the 9.0.1 Update.
    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
Again I stress I am not expecting any of the above to impact the Adobe ID and Password issue which, at this time, I believe to an Adobe Server problem. But, I hoping that what I have suggested above will enable you to go about your video editing and export successfully until we can find out from Adobe what is happening on its side with those IDs and Passwords. Yours is not an isolated incident. I have the same problem with my Adobe ID and Password for versions 7, 8.0/8.0.1, 9.0/9.0.1, and 10.
If you have any questions about my latest comments, please do not hesitate to ask for clarification.
Unless the problem of the Adobe IDs and Passwords is not solved soon, I would suggest that the moderators place a notification of the situation in the forum's Announcement.
    Thanks.
    ATR
Add On...I do not want to distract from what needs to get done for the immediate, but, out of curiosity, did you have media stored on photoshop.com and are you eager to continue with Adobe Revel? You do not need either in order to do your Premiere Elements editing and exporting.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements gives error for non admin account

    Hi
When a New Video project is created within the applciation it gives an error of Premiere Elements has encountered an error [..\..Src\Core\Preferences.cpp-338] (seems to occur during the importquicktime section). This works fine for local admin account but we work within a school were the the end users are not local admins and also have a redirected app data folder. I've ran Process Monitor and there were several access denied reg keys that have now all been allowed but the issue still remains.

QuickTime is a requirement for Premiere Elements (any version). Please download and install it so that we can continue this troubleshooting. Among other things, without QuickTime installed, you will not have QuickTime presets in Publish+Share and will not have available to you codecs supplied by that player.

  • Sorry, a serious error has occured that requires Adobe Premiere elements to shut down. We wil attempt to save your current project. This error occures when Im adding a .mov movie.

    Hello everybody
I have a new laptop and when I want to add a .mov movie to Adobe premiere elements, this error occures. Im trying to solve this problem now for days but I dont know how to continue. Im working with Windows XP, Version 2002, T2250, 0.99 RAM and an old Premiere elements 2004 version.
On my old computer I was able to add this same .mov movies, but not on the new one.
I also tried to convert this .mov movies, but the quality was to bad...
Does anybody know this problem? Im appreciating every little advice and help.
    Thanks a lot
    Sabine

    Sabine
Sorry for all the delays getting your thread moving forward. I suspect that it got lost in the daily thread traffic and Adobe's major updating of the forums.
Do your issues still exist. If they are the same as when you posted on May 8th, then
    1. When you used HandBrake for the converslion of your .mov file, did you leave the Container = Mp4. And under Video Tab, did you set the Videc Codec = H.264 (x264)? All you needed to do at that point was dot the Constant for the frame rate and designate a frame rate and select the Start button and wait for the Queue Finished message in the progress bar at the bottom left of the HandBrake workspace.
    2. What model iPhone is the video coming from? Your iPhone is probably giving you HD video (probably 1080p). So increasing the computer's installed RAM from 2.00 to 4 GB would be expected to help the overall workflow. Only if you have a 64 bit computer operating system, 8 GB installed would be even better. The 4 GB installed RAM is the maximum supported by a 32 bit computer operating system.
    3. Specially for
The movie is stopping and jumping.
When you are playing back the Timeline content, are you looking at the "rendered Timeline"? Is there an red line over the content during that playback? If so, press the Enter key and wait for the render process to complete. This rendering process gives you the best possible preview of what you are seeing. The red  line could be due to your editing the content, or it could be due to an incorrect selection of project settings. If you supply information about your video properties, we can suggest the best possible project settings. I do not recall seeing that you mentioned what version of Premiere Elements that you are using 1, 2, 3, 4 or other?
Please review the above and then let me know what supplemental information and/or clarification would help.
    Thank you.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 7 With Worthless Error Messages.

I have been a programmer since 1984, and if I saw a programmer in my team wrote these worthless error messages, I would go into my office and kill myself.
I Googled them, and I found them discussed; but the responses were of no use to me, mostly.
    1. The error message I got that brought me to the edge of a cliff is: "Sorry, a serious error has occurred that require Adobe Premiere Elements to shutdown. We will attempt to save your current project."
    Then it crashed.
When I was taking Operating Systems in my computer science class, a crash means you will get no more than 60 (out of 100). At IBM, a crash is always a SEVerity 1 issue. There is no way around it. Crash means the program is worthless.
I Googled it, and Adobe suggested it could be some drivers using virtual audio. I uninstalled everything I could find, and this problem is not going away. I looked at the sound device configuration, and it's using physical audio, not virtual audio.
I uninstalled Premiere Elements 7 five times and reinstalled them. They still failed. Finally, I reinstalled it at a different location, and it managed to "Found default catalog. Trying to open the  default catalog." Then crashed.
If I wanted to use the default catalog, I would have said so. If I knew where they are, I would have set them on fire.
Anyway, I have a project due this afternoon, and I am stuck with these worthless Adobe Premiere Elements 7 error messages. No wonder Steve Jobs banned Adobe Flash. They are pretty worthless.
Sorry I am so upset, because none of you need to read my frustration; but I am up to my neck with Adobe. Once I get my project done, and I am switching to SONY Vegas.
But, for now, would someone tell me how to get rid of these problems so I can get the video edited? Thank you.

I noticed these errors were reported years ago, and Adobe has done NOTHING to improve it.
Go back to my little list of how problems, crashes and errors sort out. That was how it was way back with Premiere programs, and how it still sorts out.
Even the patch for PrE 8 was mainly to get it functioning with nVidia and ATI graphics cards. Yes, those "fixes" probably straddle the line between Bugs and system, with a nod towards Bugs. I know that Adobe takes their Bugs very seriously, and work overtime trying to find fixes for those, that do exist. Though it took a bit of time, as they gathered info, still Adobe had a patch, and that is rare for PrElements, due to the normal lifespan of that program.
I provide some of the same answers today, that I did years ago, to fix the problems. In nearly every case, things sort out per that list. As "system" is both #1 and is also by far the largest segment of causes, that is where I begin looking. With PC's, there are myriad configurations, and most are not suited for video editing. Too many load up their e-machine and expect to edit HD material. Obviously, that is not the case here, but there could still be equipment incompatibilities, or just some tweaking needed. I see similar in the PrPro forum, as the Mac-users put the program on their MacBook Pros, with one tiny HDD, and a very weak CPU, and things go horribly wrong. If PrE was ported for the Mac, we'd have the same issues here. Usually, my first question will be about the I/O sub-system, i.e. the HDD's, their size, speed, free space, controller type and how they are allocated. Video editing is highly I/O intensive, and most computers are not even close to being able to efficiently handle it. I recommend a minimum of 3x SATA, physical HDD's, and suggest that they be setup to spread the I/O workload over all three. Some manage with a 2x I/O, but that is below MY minimum, and is the real minimum from Adobe. A single HDD I/O is just going to cause bottlenecks, and there is no way around that.
Once, it was more the domain of the PC, that one had system issues, as Mac's were so limited and controlled. Now, as they have gained the ability to expand beyond the absolute control of Apple, those users are finding out that systems DO matter.
Notice #2 - Assets. Not all AV material is meant to be edited. Some, like AVCHD (a consumer format) will require a pro-level computer, just to get smooth playback! The second most common issue is trying to edit material that has something like the Xvid, or DivX CODEC.
Number 3 - Project, is very important too. One must match their Project Preset to their source footage. If not, then there will be problems. The failure to do this match is one of the biggest causes of issues, though usually not crashes, or hangs.
Number 4 - OE, is when a user decides to push a button, and expects something else to happen, and often because that's how it worked in another program. Many argue with me that #2 and #3 are OE too, but I am much more lenient, than they are.
Then, there ARE the Bugs. PrPro CS4 had a bunch. CS4.1 fixed a few, but broke some other things. It was not until CS4.2, that things got corrected, mostly, with that version. Then, CS5 hit, and seems quite good, but has a few Bugs too. Some were left over from CS4. A new update for CS5 is coming, and soon. Will it also fix those lingering Bugs? Only time will tell. Will it be a perfect program? Doubtful, but I'll bet that it'll be a "better" program.
Think back to when you started programming. You were writing apps. for the majority of the install-base. However, what happened if the user had Extended Memory? What happened if they had Expanded Memory? What happened if they had both, and a software manager to handle those? Most still had 640KB. By that time, I had 2GB, though my MoBo could only handle 1GB with the managers. How could you write for me? I was 1:1000000, or maybe even less. I had to do my programming on the fly, and often had boot discs for different programs. It's not that much different now, except that I would not be such a rarity any more, but hardly mainstream.
I'll bet that we can sort much out, by tackling the "Big 3," and then working down, if necessary.
I like doing test Projects, keeping things simple, and testing as we make them more complex. That helps isolate the issues in most cases. In another thread, the poor user says that all Project Presets, all formats and all Export setting yield issues. My first thought is to isolate on one Project Preset, one set of Assets, and see if it's a system issue.
Sometimes it's easy, and that is good, 'cause the user gets to editing and not fritzing so much. Just nailed one in Encore, but the poster gave me all the data necessary, and my memory did not fail me (maybe it was not "wine-thirty yet?). One post, and one correct answer. Life is good. Sometimes, it takes days, and many posts, to narrow things down. In but a few, there is an answer. In those (like the PGC error in Encore) one never does really solve the issue, and the only hope is to get the OP to start over, do everything by the book, and hope for the best, this time around.
Good luck, and be assured - I do feel your pain. If I have not had one of THOSE error messages, believe me, I have read of them too many times.

  • Error message when downloading Adobe Premiere Elements 11

When attempting to download the Adobe Premiere Elements 11 from the cd, I'm getting an error message that reads: "The installation process has encountered an error while installing Shared Technologies. Please restart your system and try again".I'm using a Windows 7 Operating System. When I attempt the download again, I get the same error message.

Many of us have encounted this issue. The problem is not confined to a particular version or computer operating. Many homemade remedies and scientific ones have worked for some and not others. The most recent fix was offered by an ID by the name of Maud Barbara and seems to have been the answer for that user and at least one more.
Maud Barbara's fix can be found at the end of the very long thread on the subject found
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1121947?start=40&tstart=0
    The rough Google Translate went
    Hello
I had the same problem as you and I just d have the solution:
    go to C / program files (86) / common files/OOBE
    Rename OOBE by OLDOOBE
    and your problem is resolved
    You can reinstall the software
What worked for me in this case was none of the above. How I and others navigated this installation problem is documented in the thread cited.
We look forward to your results to see what turned out to work for you.
    Thanks.

  • No Disk Error for Adobe Premiere Elements 12

I installed Adobe Premiere Elements 12 to my PC. Everytime I load the software, I get this annoying alert saying that there is no disk located error. I can get it to go away if I click on try again a bunch of times, but I want to get rid of this problem. It should NOT be happening. SOME BODY TELL ME WHAT TO DO PLEEAASE!

Please check out recent thread which sought to solve the disc error message that appears to be similar to what you are reporting
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/6246049#6246049
There was no definitive answer. Still waiting for follow up to the latest line of questions in that thread.
Suggestions about this being a long time issue are a bit misleading. In versions of Premiere Elements earlier than 12, there was a SmartSound/Sonicfire Pro 5  feature which appeared to be linked to the disc error message. And, updating SmartSound/Sonicfire Pro 5 was claimed to be the cause and remedy for the disc error message.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1300410
However, SmartSound/Sonicfire Pro 5 is no longer a feature in Premiere Elements 12. Premiere Elements 12 does have a Music Score feature, similar in principle to SmartSound soundtracks, but the SmartSound feature is gone in version 12.
Please review that information in the link above and let us know if any of it works for you.
    Thank you.
