Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0 Files in video rendering misplaced.

I wasen't sure where to post this, but i'm having trouble with Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0
While editing a video in this program, I can add multiple videos to my hearts content. It looks good. But when I render out my video, no matter what the format, all the videos that I placed are scattered around randomly. Some only a few inches away from where I put it, some alot further. The only file that usually stays where I put it is the first video file I add into the presentation. Has anyone got anything to help solve this? I can't buy any newer versions of this program, As I am currently short for money, so that is not an option, Is there anything to help?

Just thought I'd just clear up a couple things, because I didn't really describe them very well D:
Any video files or pictures I use from any source, wether it be camera, or from the internet, always have the same problem
I use timeline view, as this is the only view that lets me add multiple videos in different layers. The original layer I use (Marked by the white in the picture below) always stays in the same place as I put it, but any other images or videos I resize or replace, get randomly moved about, as you can see in this two images V
My original video file
To the right is what happens to my files when I export them, I've tried multiple formats, but always have the same results D:
Hope this extra info helped, and sorry for the random images used in the project, I just scrapped whatever I could find off my computer and used that

On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 13 running? Have you updated 13 to 13.1 yet using an opened project's Help Menu/Updates?
    If not, please do so.
You have not given us enough information with which to help you.
What are the properties of your source file that is presenting in the project with audio but no video?
Quickest way to gain that information is from brand/model/settings of the camera that recorded the video.
    I am looking for
    video compression
    audio compression
    frame size
    frame rate
    interlaced or progressive
    file extension
    pixel aspect ratio
What does the file's thumbnail look like in Project Assets after it is imported....thumbnail with no image (gray), thumbnail with only an audio icon
within it, or other? On the Timeline, what do you see represented in Video 1....nothing as opposed to Audio 1 where you see the audio portion of
    the file?
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer along with Premiere Elements 13/13.1? Are you running the programs as
    administrator?
Is your video card/graphics card driver version up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card?

  • Can I play adobe premiere elements media cache files (original files lost)

I have Adobe Premiere Elements 9 and have lost a number of the video original files and updated video files.
However, I noticed that I have numerous adobe premiere elements media cache files (I dont think I ever cleared out the cache) - are these playable or am I able to use these to re-create the originals / make replacement videos.

OK, thanks for your prompt reply. I thought I could access them in some way to either view or re-edit.
I might as well delete them, if they no longer have a use.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 9 AVI file trouble

I recently had to re-install Adobe Premiere Elements 9.0 to my new hard drive.
All of a sudden I am no longer able to import AVI files.

Thanks for getting back to us on this issue.
Based on what you just wrote, let explore the following direction for the troubleshooting. If this approach works, great; if not, we think about this some more.
If you say that these untouched .avi files are from the Canon Powershot, I am guessing that they probably are MotionJPEG.avi. That MotionJPEG video compression can be a nuisance to deal with at times. Sometimes it appears that the matter is more the availability of this video codec to the project rather than its absence in the system.
Did the Canon Powershot come with a utility that you had installed on the old hard drive? And, did you reinstall that utility after the hard drive replacement? If not, that is a consideration. Some believe use of the camera's utllity is a way around the Premiere Elements MotionJPEG issue when it pops up.
Another approach would be to download and install the tryout Morgan MotionJPEG codec (for now for troubleshooting purposes) so that we can rule that aspect of the issue in or out.
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/audio_video/codecs/morgan_m-jpeg_codec.cfm
We will be watching for your follow up when you get a chance.
By the way, did you remember to reinstall the 9.0.1 Update for version 9?

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 7 configuration files?

    Hi All,
I recently updated my computer (switched the boot drive to a bigger one, and switched from XP to Vista Ultimate).
To get a clean start, I did a clean OS install, and then reinstalled all my programs.  I then started to restore personal data and settings from backups.
I managed to get almost everything back:  I restored the premiere projects to C:\Users\kurdi\documents\adobe from the old XP drive, but I need help: I had created quite a few custom presets for sharing my files, and I don't know how to restore those.
Anyone know where the presets (Like Mpeg HD 720 p) are stored?  I'd like to recover my old settings if I can.
    Thanks,
    Mark K.

The project document presets are stored in:
    C/PROGRAM FILES/ADOBE/PREMIERE ELEMENTS 7/DOCUMENT TEMPLATES

Thank you. That is good news of sorts.
MotionJPEG video compression is often problematic for Premiere Elements (any version).
When it does present a problem, there are several popular remedies
    a. If video was recorded with camera, then determine if there is a utility that came with the camera
and install it to get the required codec.
    b. Download and install a MotionJPEG codec. The Morgan MotionJPEG codec has been used
successfully by many over the years. Sources of MotionJPEG may be available online.
    Morgan Multimedia - News
    c. Conversion of the MotionJPEG.asp to another format. You might want to start with
    HandBrake
    http://handbrake.fr/
in order to obtain a H.264.mp4 file.
Please review and consider the above and then we can try to sort out which would be best for your
    projects.
    Thank you.

  • How do I keep Adobe Premiere Elements 11 from crashing during the rendering process?

I have already published a video, but I had to go in and make some images and texts clearer. I didn't add anything, I just changed them. Now the program will only render to 84% and them an error message pops up and asks me if I want to send a report or not. No matter what I choose, it still shuts the whole program down. I will try to re-open the program with the same file and it will just shut off. I have to restart my computer just to get back in the program. Why is it doing this and is there anything I do to fix it, in light of re-making my video?

Try doing a Save As and renamed your video. Then render your output. This will keep your new render files from "bumping into" your old render files.
If that doesn't work, please provide more information about your system.
What operating system are you using? How fast is processor and how much RAM do you have? How much free, clean, defragmented space is on your hard drive?
What model of camcorder is your video coming from and what format and resolution is it? Did you use Premiere Elements to get the video from your camcorder to your computer?
What Publish & Share option are you using to output your video?

  • Adobe Premiere Elements and .MOD files - can I make them compatible?

Any advice gratefully received!..  I have a laptop running on Windows 7, I've just installed PE10 and although I can import the footage from the hard drive into the time line, it's looking de-interlaced.  There is audio and picture, just not a decent picture!  Does anyone know how I can work around this?? any tips would be a help.  (The footage is from a Canon Legria FS200)

Thank you both - I found it, and changed the file extension to .mpg
Unfortunately the footage looks awful in the timeline.  I'm trying to get Adobe to help me and they keep promising me a call back 'within an hour and half!'  It's now been a week of these false promises and no-one will get back to me.  I've had 2 online chats where they say they can't help with any technical issue and that I need to call the helpline, which is what I'm doing anyway!...
Might have to just send it back soon and start with some other editing software!

Thanks for the follow up. Sorry that the news was not better.
As for project settings (project preset)....that should be set to match the properties of the media that you import. Only one project preset per project, so, if you have more than one format, you need to set priorities for the project, and then work everything else around that prime choice. But, for now, assuming all the project content have the same format.
The program is set up to have the project select the project preset based on its analysis of the properties of the first source you drag to the Timeline. If it cannot do that for some reason, it does not give you the closest project preset for what you need, instead it gives you its default NTSC/AVCHD/Full HD 1080i30 or its PAL counterpart if you are working in a PAL setup. You can always check to see what the project set. See Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and the readings for Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, and Pixel Aspect Ratio (even if they look grayed out). You can view project settings there, but you cannot make significant changes in what has been set. So, you start a new project if the settings are not right.
The manual way for you to set the project preset....
    File Menu/New/Project and Change Settings
In Change Settings, change the project preset to match the properties of your source file. OK out of there.
In the New Project dialog that you see next, change the name of the project, and make sure to have a check mark next to Force Selected Project Settings On This Project. OK out of there.
Back in the Expert workspace, import your source media using the project's Add Media/Files and Folders.
If you setup according to my suggestions in post 3 and are still have previewing issues, then I think we should look deeper into the video card/graphics card. See Device Manager/Display Adapters to verify what your computer is using. And, then go to the web site of the manufacturer of that card to determine if you have the latest driver for that card.
    Please consider.
    Thank you.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements failed to return a video frame. Cancelling the operation. (For 3.0)

This is the message that comes up everytime I try to export my 6 minute 10 seconds film. I have used 2 of the 'Video Effects' and the film is mainly made up of AVI files. Will someone please tell me why this is happening and how I can fix it. Thank you very much

This error often shows up when there is a gap in the Video Timeline.
What I would do is zoom in on the Timeline to about the maximum. Hit Home to get the CTI to the 00;00;00;00 point. Now, hit PageDn to step you through your Clips. With the zoom at the max, you should be at the frame-level, so even a 1-frame gap should be visible. However, sometimes even max zoom will not clearly show them. What you need to do is watch the CTI, as it progresses from Clip to Clip. If it seems to "hiccup," or "stutter," you have probably found your gap. In most cases, you can just Select (Lasso) all Clips following and drag them so that the gap is closed. In some cases, you might just want to change the Out Point of the preceeding Clip to close it, or extend the In Point for the following Clip to close. Don't forget to check the entire Timeline for more.
One little caveat. If you do find gap, and close it up with the Lasso and drag method, and also have a Soundtrack that extends the total length of your Video, check that there is NOT more Audio, than you now have Video. If you do, you have two choices: click-drag the Audio's Tail to line it up with your Video's Tail (only if you have just a touch of silence in your Soundtrack, or can slightly alter you Fade-out to work as you want. Or, you can go to the Project panel, and choose the New icon, then Black Video. Drag that to butt up to the Tail of your last Clip, and then click-drag its Tail so that you have maybe one frame more Video, than Audio.
I hope that you'll be able to find a gap, and that it will be the problem. As I said, this is usually the cause for that error message.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Video editing & playback issues: Adobe Premiere Elements 8

    Hello all,
I have made several attempts at transfering HD video  files from my camcorder to my PC and then editing.
When I try to play the transferred file, it is a little choppy and then gets worse as I edit it.
    Here are my specs/config:
    System:
    HP Pavilion a6720y
    Windows Vista 64 bit
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 440
AMD Phenon 9550 Quad Core 2.2Ghz
    6GB RAM
    640GB SATA drive, 7200 rpm
    Camera:
    Sony HDR-XR150
    Editing Software:
    Adobe Premiere Elements 8
I copy the video files from the camcorder to the computer via USB 2.0.
When I connect the camera directly to the TV the video plays without any issues.  So I know the AVCHD files are "good" and I suspect they are also possibly "good" on my hard drive, but just cannot be played or edited appropriately for some reason.
One input I received was that due to the nature of AVCHD files, I should convert the video to "I-frame codec" and then edit.  Can Adobe Premiere Elements do this?
    Any other thoughts/ideas?
    Thanks for any help.

    6GB RAM
PE version 8 is 32bit, so is not using all of your ram
    640GB SATA drive, 7200 rpm
I edit AVCHD (with PPro) with THREE hard drives
My 3 hard drives are configured as...
    1 - 320Gig Boot for Win7 64bit Pro and all program installs
2 - 320Gig data for Win7 swap file and video project files
When I create a project on #2 drive, the various work files follow,
so my boot drive is not used for the media cache folder and files
3 - 1Terabyte data for all video files... input & output files (*)

Trying to use only ONE Hard Drive for Video Editing
You are a music conductor, with a baton that you use to point to various parts of the orchestra... this is like Windows pointing to various parts of the hard drive to do Windows housekeeping or to load program segments for various functions
Now, at the same time and with the same hand... while still using the baton to conduct the orchestra... pick up a bow and play a fiddle... this would be doing something with your video file at the same time as all the other work
You as a person cannot do both at the same time with the same hand
A computer is a LITTLE better, in that it can switch from one kind of task to another very quickly... but not quickly enough for EASY video editing
You need AT LEAST two hard drives (separate drives, never a partition http://forums.adobe.com/thread/650708 for more) with Windows (or Mac OS) and software on your boot drive, and video files on a 2nd drive so the boot drive is not slowed down by trying to do everything
I find that the three drives I use work very well for me, for editing AVCHD video... some people use a 4th drive, so video INPUT files are on drive three and all OUTPUT files are on drive four... I only bought a mid-tower case instead of a full tower case (my bad... but had to fit in the space available on my office desk!) so I use the three drives that will fit
Depending on your exact hardware (motherboard brand & model AND USB2 enclosure brand & model AND external hard drive brand & model) AND the type of video file, you may... or may NOT... be able to use an external USB2 hard drive for SD (Standard Definition) video editing
Steve Grisetti in the Premiere Elements forum http://forums.adobe.com/thread/856208 and Jim Simon in the Premiere Pro forum http://forums.adobe.com/thread/856433 use USB externals for editing
A USB3 hard drive connected to a motherboard with USB3 is supposed to be fast enough for video editing (I don't have such, so don't know) but eSata DOES have a fast enough data transfer for video editing... I have not used the eSata Dock below... for reference only, YMMV and all the usual disclaimers
