Adobe Premiere Elements 8 Template download problem

Everytime I try to download the Adobe Premiere Elements 8 templates  on the (setup.exe) it says it's going to remove it. Is that what it's supposed to do?

This ARTICLE by Neale, in Tips & Tricks, might be useful. He also has a link to the Adobe KB Installation Instructions, that might be useful.
Down that thread, one user was having issues, in that they had only downloaded the 7z (archived file, like a ZIP), but not the little "installer" file.
I have never installed from a download, so am not up on exactly what needs to be done, but I think that Neale covered it pretty well. If not adequately for you, I hope that he stops by this thread with some additional info.

    and activate with your serial.
    if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps.  the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 12 start up problem.

    I just purchased and installed Adobe Premiere Elements 12.  I have a new pc with windows 8.1. Premiere required that I run the program as an administrator (???).  So I ran it as administrator and it starts up, but then immediately closes itself.

    Checking the Creation of a New Project
    a. If you double click the desktop icon of Premiere Elements 12.1, does the program open to the Welcome Screen?
    In the Welcome Screen can you then select Video Editor followed by New Project to open a new project?
    b. Can you open the program and a new project by double clicking on the Adobe Premiere Elements 12.exe or Adobe Premiere Elements.exe found

    and in the 12 Folder are these two files. The Adobe Premiere Elements 12.exe should open to the Welcome Screen and the Adobe Premiere Elements.exe opens bypassing the Welcome Screen.
    Checking the Opening of a Saved/Closed Project
    Now for your workaround...You right click a video file on the hard drive and select Open With and have the opportunity to select specifically Premiere Elements 12. It works. You have a new project, edited, and you save/close it. But, it is the re-opening of that saved/closed project.prel file that I suspect as being at the core of the problem.
    so I double clicked the project file I had been working on and it said 'The project is not compatible with current version of Premiere Elements' (even though I had only just saved it from that version).
    Where is this project.prel file that you are double clicking to re-open your saved/closed project? And, how do you get to it? What is its hard drive save location - Libraries/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/12.0? If so, what happens if you right click the project prel there and select Open With, followed by Premiere Elements 12?
    Please review and consider.

  • Adobe premiere elements and roaming profiles problem

    We bought Adobe premiere elements 12 for use in our school lab environment and after lots of struggle I now see that it doesn't support roaming profiles. Is there a fix for this or have we wasted lots of money.
    Is there a way to change the default save location during deployment?

    I know that it have to be installed on the c: drive. But my question is if there are any way to change the default save location during deployment. Because Premiere will be installed on c:\program files\adobe\ adobe premiere elements 12\ but the default scratch disks and project location will be automatically tried to save to their roaming profiles the first time and causing the problem.
    Remember this is in a lab environment and new users will log on all the time and therefore get the error messages failures.
    Again, my question is:
    Is there a way to change the default start location during DEPLOYMENT (we use Configuration manager 2012) so that it will always start on for example c:\localmedia instead of their documents or appdata folders which are inside their roaming profile.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 9 Driver Update Problem

    I have had Adobe Premiere Elements 9 for almost a year now, and I had just made a movie with my friends.  When I go to launch Premiere Elements it says "Incompatible display driver, please update your display driver.  I am on a Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop. (I know, it is not a great computer for video editing, but it is what I am stuck with.) I have tried to delete the BadDrivers.txt file and it is still no use.  I have also reinstalled my drivers (there were no updates after 2008) I have been able to use Premiere Elements perfectly until today.  I don't know what is going on, so somebody please help me.

    That machine is pretty underpowered for PRE, as you acknowledged, so it could just be that your current project is too large or more complex than your previous successful projects. The maximum memory is only 2GB and that is barely enough to start PRE on top of Windows itself.
    But, encouraged by the fact you have had successful projects, I'd first look at how much defragmented disk space you have. Really you should be looking for at least 40GB free and defragged. That your machine supports only a maximum 100GB drive strongly suggests to me that you just don't have enough available.
    For general disk space cleaning take a look here: Re: Clean, Lean & Mean Editing Machine - One Workflow. Check out the rest of that discussion - lots of good advice on optimizing a PC.
    For PRE specific cleaning I suggest you remove all cache files through Edit> Preferences> Media> Clean.
    Also look to your past complete projects. Consider using the Project Archiver to archive off completed projects to an external hard drive, and then delete the Adobe working folders for those projects (much easier if you have managed each project through a project specific folder). You  can also manually check for the working file folders by looking for their folder names:

    And I can import that , but I cant import the one I want

    I bought Adobe Premiere Elements 11 online 18 months ago.  Switched PCs, trying to download it again to the new PC.  Get this error:  "The file archive part of Adobe Premiere Elements 11 is missing.  You need all parts in the same folder in order to extract Adobe Premiere Elements.  Please download all parts." Any ideas/help? - Jacque

    you need file 1 of 2 and file 2 of 2.  you only downloaded one of them (the exe).  you also need the 7z.
    download both, put them in the same directory and click or double click the exe.

    My Adobe Premiere Elements did not download.  I did everything it asked me to do and it downloaded something onto my desktop but I can't find any timeline for me to edit my videos.  Can someone help me?

    If you want Premiere Elements, you do not need to download anything else but it. Be sure to read carefully the description of your download before you start it.
    From where did you try to download Premiere Elements? Can we assume that it was from Adobe and that the download was Premiere Elements 13 for use on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit?
    What did you download to your desktop? Was it a folder named Adobe Premiere Elements 13? If yes, open the folder to find the PRE13 Folder inside. Open the PRE13 Folder and look for the Set.up.exe inside the PRE13 Folder. Then double click the Set.up.exe to start the installation of Premiere Elements 13 tryout. Follow the instruction that you see on screen.
    Have you done all that already?
    If you have never gotten a Adobe Premiere Elements 13 Folder on your desktop from your download from Adobe, please try again using the information provided by
    skikha in post numbered 6 of your thread.
    It is a good idea to disable antivirus and firewall(s) before doing the download and installation.

    I just purchased Photoshop Elements 12 and Adobe Premiere Elements. I downloaded Photoshop Elements 12 and now there's a folder on my desktop that contains two folders, PSE12 and Read Me. What do I do now? Also, how do I download and install Adobe Premiere Elements. Thanks so much.

  • Adobe premiere elements 13 has stopped working message

    Every time I open adobe premiere elements 13 and download any form of media, in about every 2-3 minutes when i'm editing my video, A message will come up stating that "Adobe Premiere Elements 13 has stopped working." It forces me to close the application. I went to a computer expert and he said that my computer meets all the requirements of the software and even exceeds some of them since it's only 2 years old. Why does this keep on happening to me and how do I fix it?

    Have you updated 13 to 13.1 using an opened project's Help Menu/Update? If not, please do so.
    Now the usual drill questions...
    1. Do the problems exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
    2. Are you running the program as Administrator?
    3. Are you using a pen and tablet device instead of a mouse?
    4. Is your video card/graphics card up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card. According
    to the Device Manager/Display Adapters, how many video cards/graphics cards is your computer using? Are you running
    a multi- monitor system?
    5. Is the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer along with Premiere Elements 13/13.1?
    6. What are the properties of your source media including file extension and duration? Knowing brand/model/settings of the camera that
    recorded the videos is probably the quickest way to get at that needed information. What project preset are you (manually) or the project
    (automatically) setting?
    7. What specific edits are you doing in the project when the program crashes/shuts down? Is there any consistency to the "stopped working"?
    You talk about every 2 or 3 minutes in the workflow. But what is the size of the project by the time the problems set in....2 or 3 minutes
    from the time you started the project or 2 or 3 minutes after you have been working on the project for 10 to 90 minutes?
    Please review and consider the above, and then we will decide what next.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 11 & Photoshop Elements 11 Errors, Downloading Problems, Uninstalling probs

    On May 8, 2013 I ordered Adobe Premiere Elements 11 & Photoshop Elements 11. To this day they do not work properly, did not download properly, nor can I get them uninstalled properly to reinstall properly. I have not been able to contact Adobe all these months, & now they tell me I have to pay $39.00 more just to speak to them. I refuse to give them anymore money than I have already gave them! Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue? I currently  have Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 & Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0. I was upgrading. 

    Thank you so much for replying. But I sort of solved the problem, yet I didn't solve the problem. I am running Windows 7 on my computer. When I purchased Elements & Premiere 11, I purchased a 1 time download from Adobe. Upgrading from 7.0. When I went to download it, then install it, it told me that through an error message, that it was not downloaded or installed correctly, so I would have to uninstall the whole thing & start from scratch, basically. So, I went into the control panel to delete the program. Hit uninstall, & it told me after it was done, that everything was not uninstalled & had uninstalled incorrectly. Now it was missing from the Control Panel, & I could not find the remains anywhere, I thought I would try to redownload it again. So, going through the process, it would let me download it, but it would not install due to the remains of the previous installation. I tried everything. And when I tried to go straight to Adobe, it was a no go. I put it on the back burner for months & used my 7.0 occassionally. Today I decided I wanted it fixed. I went to Adobe...my licenses are still in my account. But no matter what I did, it would not accept my old licenses. With the help of a previous poster, maybe on a different thread, I was able to uninstall the old program remnants. But I could still not download 11. I just decided to cut my loses, & purchased 12. I bought the trials, downloaded them, they worked great, & I purchased them. So, all's well that ends well. Of course, I am $170-some dollars in the hole, but whatever it takes. Again thank you for your reply to my delima.

    I'm having a problem with Adobe Premiere Elements 12 using Scary Halloween template under Menu Theme.  My problem is the red line is default to Scenes.  I would like it to default to Play.  How can I do that? Is it a bug?

    No bug. Just the way the .psd for the Scary Halloween template was put together.
    You are going to have to get into the .psd for the Scary Halloween template and rearrange the
    Layer Sets. Do you know how to do that? If not, I will give you very specific instructions on how to
    do that.
    You want the order of the Layer Sets to look like
    That is what worked for me just now to get the disc menu Preview to open to the main
    menu with the red highlight under Play.

    With versions earlier than 11, there is no more Sign In. If you get any message to that effect, ignore and cancel out of them. You should be able to move forward to your import, editing, and exports using the program nonetheless.
    As for the disc menus, those marked photoshop.com plus members only are no longer available to you in versions of Premiere Elements earlier than 11. You may see the thumbnails for those members only items, but they are no longer available to you in Premiere Elements earlier than 10.
    Interestingly, many of them are found in Premiere Elements 11, 12, and 13 as part of the program with no need to purchase them or have any special membership in anything. Adobe has promoted Adobe Revel as a replacement for photoshop.com, but that has no impact on this disc menus issue.
    This all has to do with Adobe discontinuing photoshop.com and photoshop.com plus et al.
