  • How do I install Adobe Premiere Elements when I get this error message...?

I have bought the DVD bundle of Adobe Premiere Elements and Photoshop. They both come on a single DVD. When I attemp to install Premiere I get the error message... "This installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor".
My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5536, AMD Athlon, 64 x 2 dual-core, 2.1 GHz. I bought it in 2009 and it runs with Vista.
Is my laptop too old or not powerfull enough? Or is there a problem with Vista? Please help.

Your problem with the Premiere Elements 11 download blows the following question away, but I will ask it anyway.
If you purchased the bundled Photoshop Elements 10 Premiere Elements 10, how many discs did you receive. It should have been five. And, with Windows Vista 32 bit and Premiere Elements 10 in the equation, you should have been using the disc labelled 1 of 5. Was all of that the case?
What service pack do you have for your Windows Vista 32 bit? And, do you know if your laptop's processor has SSE2 support?

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 12 doesn't import MOV Files

    Hi, All!
I'm working on Windows 8.1 64 bit and use Adobe Premiere Elements 12. I've downloaded and installed on my PC latest version of Apple QuickTime 7.7.4.1680.86 from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
I've trying to use some free stuff from http://www.detonationfilms.com/Stock_Directory.html and mix it with my video. You may download example of Pre-Keyed Explosions using direct link: http://www.detfilmsshockwave.com/DVExplosion01.zip or any other stuff from this site...
...but my Adobe Premiere Elements 12 with installed the latest updates doesn't import these MOV Files with codec PNG Image
In fact, Apple does not offer ProRes components for QuickTime on Windows, but I don't know do this problem interact with my trouble?
IMHO, it's best  to look at the crash logs for QT32Server! I've found executable QT32Server on my PC in next folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 12 Organizer\CAHeadless\32\Adobe QT32 Server.exe, but can't found any import logs on my Windows 8.1 including hidden folders. I have trying to check the windows events log for errors %windir%\system32\eventvwr.msc /s but it contains no necessary items.
I have trying to re-install version 6.5.2 of Apple QuickTime, but without success. May be I must try to install any other older version, i.e. 7.5.5 ?
I think perhaps such behavior of Adobe Premiere Elements 12 is in design?
May be I'd try third party free video converter, like SUPER e.t.c. to convert MOV container to AVI?
Please help me to find a way to fix this problem.
    Sincerely yours,
    JennyK

What is this "codec PNG image" that is contained/wrapped by the .mov format? What are the video and audio properties of this video...frame size, frame rate, interlaced or progressive, pixel aspect ratio, et al.
It sounds like you have Premiere Elements 12 is running on some version of Windows with QuickTime (latest version) installed on the same computer as Premiere Elements. Great. Requirement for QuickTime met.
Where is this PNG.mov coming from? And what type of .avi were you thinking to convert to?
Premiere Elements 12 Publish+Share/Computer/QuickTime does offer an export with a PNG video codec with the .mov file extension. I am in the process of exporting my Timeline to that type of file and then determining if I can import that back into Premiere Elements 12 project.
When your png.mov will not install into Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 8.1 64 bit, what is the specific message that you are getting from the program at that time.
More shortly after my export of the png.mov is finished. Any minute now.
    ATR
Add On....The png.mov produced by Premiere Elements 12 Window 7 64 bit could be imported into a Premiere Elements 12 project. I am now going to my laptop which has Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 8.1 64 bit to do the same thing and see what happens there. Back soon.

Thanks for the follow up. Sorry that the news was not better.
As for project settings (project preset)....that should be set to match the properties of the media that you import. Only one project preset per project, so, if you have more than one format, you need to set priorities for the project, and then work everything else around that prime choice. But, for now, assuming all the project content have the same format.
The program is set up to have the project select the project preset based on its analysis of the properties of the first source you drag to the Timeline. If it cannot do that for some reason, it does not give you the closest project preset for what you need, instead it gives you its default NTSC/AVCHD/Full HD 1080i30 or its PAL counterpart if you are working in a PAL setup. You can always check to see what the project set. See Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and the readings for Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, and Pixel Aspect Ratio (even if they look grayed out). You can view project settings there, but you cannot make significant changes in what has been set. So, you start a new project if the settings are not right.
The manual way for you to set the project preset....
    File Menu/New/Project and Change Settings
In Change Settings, change the project preset to match the properties of your source file. OK out of there.
In the New Project dialog that you see next, change the name of the project, and make sure to have a check mark next to Force Selected Project Settings On This Project. OK out of there.
Back in the Expert workspace, import your source media using the project's Add Media/Files and Folders.
If you setup according to my suggestions in post 3 and are still have previewing issues, then I think we should look deeper into the video card/graphics card. See Device Manager/Display Adapters to verify what your computer is using. And, then go to the web site of the manufacturer of that card to determine if you have the latest driver for that card.
    Please consider.
    Thank you.

  • I have adobe premiere elements 12 can not open wmv file made in windows 8 ?

    wmv file not recognized

    tikkadog
From what I have read that Life Frame offers .avi, .asf, and .wmv files. Those are just file extensions. The video compression and audio compression of the file are the first things to define.
If you cannot find that information in your User Guide, then please put the problem video file through the gpsot utility to find out
    Video (Name, Codec, and Status)
    and
    Audio (Name, Codec, and Status).
    http://www.headbands.com/gspot/
and whatever other information you can find there, example, frame size, frame rate, etc.
You could also try recording to .avi instead of .wmv, but there again we would be up against the video and audio compression used.
Let us see what file information you can put together so that you can try to resolve the issue.
We will be watching for your results.
    Thank you.

  • Video editing & playback issues: Adobe Premiere Elements 8

    Hello all,
I have made several attempts at transfering HD video  files from my camcorder to my PC and then editing.
When I try to play the transferred file, it is a little choppy and then gets worse as I edit it.
    Here are my specs/config:
    System:
    HP Pavilion a6720y
    Windows Vista 64 bit
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 440
AMD Phenon 9550 Quad Core 2.2Ghz
    6GB RAM
    640GB SATA drive, 7200 rpm
    Camera:
    Sony HDR-XR150
    Editing Software:
    Adobe Premiere Elements 8
I copy the video files from the camcorder to the computer via USB 2.0.
When I connect the camera directly to the TV the video plays without any issues.  So I know the AVCHD files are "good" and I suspect they are also possibly "good" on my hard drive, but just cannot be played or edited appropriately for some reason.
One input I received was that due to the nature of AVCHD files, I should convert the video to "I-frame codec" and then edit.  Can Adobe Premiere Elements do this?
    Any other thoughts/ideas?
    Thanks for any help.

My 3 hard drives are configured as...
    1 - 320Gig Boot for Win7 64bit Pro and all program installs
2 - 320Gig data for Win7 swap file and video project files
When I create a project on #2 drive, the various work files follow,
so my boot drive is not used for the media cache folder and files

Trying to use only ONE Hard Drive for Video Editing
You are a music conductor, with a baton that you use to point to various parts of the orchestra... this is like Windows pointing to various parts of the hard drive to do Windows housekeeping or to load program segments for various functions
Now, at the same time and with the same hand... while still using the baton to conduct the orchestra... pick up a bow and play a fiddle... this would be doing something with your video file at the same time as all the other work
You as a person cannot do both at the same time with the same hand
A computer is a LITTLE better, in that it can switch from one kind of task to another very quickly... but not quickly enough for EASY video editing
You need AT LEAST two hard drives (separate drives, never a partition http://forums.adobe.com/thread/650708 for more) with Windows (or Mac OS) and software on your boot drive, and video files on a 2nd drive so the boot drive is not slowed down by trying to do everything
I find that the three drives I use work very well for me, for editing AVCHD video... some people use a 4th drive, so video INPUT files are on drive three and all OUTPUT files are on drive four... I only bought a mid-tower case instead of a full tower case (my bad... but had to fit in the space available on my office desk!) so I use the three drives that will fit
Depending on your exact hardware (motherboard brand & model AND USB2 enclosure brand & model AND external hard drive brand & model) AND the type of video file, you may... or may NOT... be able to use an external USB2 hard drive for SD (Standard Definition) video editing

A USB3 hard drive connected to a motherboard with USB3 is supposed to be fast enough for video editing (I don't have such, so don't know) but eSata DOES have a fast enough data transfer for video editing... I have not used the eSata Dock below... for reference only, YMMV and all the usual disclaimers

  • Video file help for Adobe Premiere Elements 7

    Hello,
I am not a technical person so I don't really understand all the "big words" per se.
I got my movies converted to a DVD from a company and they sent it to me in an mp4 format which I thought I could just import into Premiere and start to edit.  Well that didn't work.  Trying to figure out how to import it so I could edit it.  I know if I convert it through something the quality will go down.
I don't know anything about codecs but it says the Video Codec is LEAD H264 Decoder (3.0) and the Audio codec is LEAD AAC Decoder.
Hope that helps and someone out there could help me.
    Stacy

    Stacy
Given you have files with .mp4 file extensions on a DVD disc for storage purposes.
And, you want to use these files in a Premiere Elements 7 Windows project. What do you
    mean by
I thought I could just import into Premiere and start to edit.  Well that didn't work.
    How did it not work?
    a. When you opened Premiere Elements 7 and went to Get Media/Files and Folders/ did you
get an error message that prevented you from going further?
    b. If you imported your file into Organize/Media, did you have a problem after you dragged your video to the Timeline view Timeline or the Sceenline view Filmstrip?
    or
    c. Was the issue some place else?
Backing up a little, how did you attempt to import the .mp4 from the DVD disc to Premiere Elements 7?
    a. Copy file from disc and paste to desktop from where you used Premiere Elements Get Media/Files and Folder?
    b. User Premiere Elements 7's Get Media/"DVD(Camcorder or PC DVD Drive)"/Adobe Premiere Elements - Media Downloader?
Once we sort out the above, then I would like to learn more about the properties of your files. Right now we know only that they are .mp4 files that use video compression = LEAD H.264 and audio compression = LEAD AAC. Do you know what we have here...720 x 480 4:3 or 720 x 480 16:9 Widescreen or something else?
Please review the above and do not hesitate to ask for clarification on anything written.
At this point, I am not sure if the problem is related to how you imported that video into Premiere Elements 7 or the properties of the video itself (original or some possible modification of the original).
    Please review and consider.
    Thank you.

  • Import video from CANON LEGRIA HF R18 into adobe premiere elements

    Hallo,
I have a MAC and I don't know how I have to set the project to import videos from my camera.
    Thanks

    jazzandogospelsinger64
As a first pass at this I would transfer the video from the camera to the computer hard drive and from there import that into Premiere Elements 10 Mac with Premiere Elements 10 Mac Get Media/Files and Folder. Under the circumstances your Premiere Elements 10 will perform as a 32 bit application running in the 32 bit compatibility mode of the Mac 64 bit with the limitations of 32 bit. I am an Elements Windows user, but the principles and suggestions that I am about to make should be applicable to your situation. I have gone off track with any Mac specific details be sure to say so. The 32 bit business means that Premiere Elements 10 Mac will not be able to take advantage of all the 64 bit resources as would be the case if you had Premiere Elements 11 Mac running in a Mac 64 bit operating system.
Your Canon HF-R18 FXP would be highest quality 1920 x 1080 with a bitrate of 17 Mbps (megabits per second). I need to confirm if you are recording interlaced video 1920 x 1080 (50i) or 1920 x 1080 p25 (in the progressive mode). From what I have read your audio is Dolby Digital Stereo.
    If 1920 x 1080 (50i, aka 25 interlaced frames per second), then use the Premiere Elements 10 project preset = PAL/AVCHD/Full HD1080i25.
    If 1920 x 1080 (25p, 25 progressive frames per second), then use the Premiere Elements 10 project preset = PAL/DSLR/1080p/DSLR 1080p25.
In either circumstance, when you drag the file from the Media area to the Timeline, do you see a colored line over that content on the Timeline? You should not be seeing a colored line over this content if we have the correct project preset selected. But remember that, each time after you edit that video, it is normal for a red line to appear over it. That is the program telling you that you need to render the Timeline content, one way by pressing the Enter key of the computer main keyboard to get the best possible preview. When the rendering is complete, the red line will turn green. Thereafter, only a red/green indicator system (with all its implications) will exist for letting you know if the program thinks that you are seeing the best possible preview. No more non colored line choice, just red (need) and green (not needed). When you are in the no colored line or green situation, pressing the Enter key will just get you playback of the file in the monitor - no rendering available.
See what that looks like on the Timeline at playback there.
Let us start there and be ready for the next phase "How do I want to export that Timeline?" with all the details associated with that phase to get the best results.
Looking forward to your follow up.
    Thanks.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 12

I am using the above program and have saved the file which is 1hr 59 minutes into a folder as MPEG that has 1.71TB free of a 1.81TB drive. I am trying to burn the 5.9GB file onto a DVD which is dual layered.  The disk says the space is free and have tried multiple disks.  When I go to burn it, it gives me a response saying that the disk is something like 4.89GB to small.  I can't burn from my original file b/c I don't have enough hard drive space for the temporary files to burn.  Deleting programs really is not an option.  Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Matt

    SlugHammer
Let us back up on this so that I do not take anything for granted.
    You wrote
The size of the file through the Publish+Share states Space Required: 7.41 GB(Bitrate 8.00Mbps) when Burn to: Disc is selected.   When I hit burn it states “Insufficient disk space on drive for creating temporary burning files.”
If the Space Required and Bitrate readings that you quoted were your readings with a check mark next to "Fit Content to Available Space", then the usable DVD double layer single sided disc capacity should have been OK. But, the message does not mention disc capacity. It appears to be targeting "...creating temporary burning files". For me, that means the free hard drive space where the Encoded Files Folders - typically in Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/ . Where is that Encoded Files Folder located and how much free hard drive space is there?
    Then you wrote
If I click Burn to Folder with choice 8.5GB it states Space Required 1.58GB(Bitrate 1.69MBps), and if I chose the same DVD-Burn to folder 4.7GB it states 1.58GB(Bitrate 1.69Mbps) both have Status as “Insufficient disc space for burning” and both show folder location in my C Drive.
Here I think that you are in trouble with that Bitrate of 1.69 Mbps. That is the lowest possible Bitrate setting. The lower the bitrate the lower the file size, but the lower the quality. Even though you were doing burn to folder here, did you remember to put a check mark next to "Fit Content to Available Space"? That should have given you readings similar to those for burn to disc. Use of "Fit Content to Available Space" would be expected to get rid of the "Insufficient disc space for burning" message in the burn to folder.
Please critically distinguish between Insufficient space on DVD disc versus Local Disk C.
Two critical items for considerations as I see it
    a. Free space for the scratch disks
    b. "Fit Content to Available Space" use
Please review and let us know what is happening.
    Thanks.

  • Can't see MTS files using mac os 10.9.5 and adobe premiere elements 12

I am using a MacBook Pro and OS is 10.9.5. Adobe premiere elements 12 does not recognize MTS files from my SD card. The OS does not see MTS files from the card as well...but...I have an MTS file on my desktop from before I upgraded from 10.6.8 that can be seen by both Adobe and the new OS.
    HELP

    annejennifer
What are you using as your Add Media/ for the import of your .mts on the SD?
Not sure if the following is a viable question, but....
What happens if you transfer the .mts on the SD card to your computer desktop and then try to
import the .mts into Premiere Elements 12 with its Add Media/Files and Folder/Project Assets?
But on reflection, if your OS and Premiere Elements are both not seeing the file, this does not
present as a Premiere Elements issue, rather an issue between the .mts format and your Mac computer.
If that is a valid observation, have you gotten any input on this from Apple?
Have you looked into converting these .mts files into H.264.mov or .mp4 before use?

Add On....could you give us more information about the .mts file that you said that you have on your new
computer desktop and is being recognized by the OS and Premiere Elements 12?

  • How to get audio into Adobe Premiere Elements 12?

How to get audio into Adobe Premiere Elements 12?
I have filmed an air show with a very good camera JVC pro
And when I pick up the clips in Adobe Premiere Elements 12, it works too, but only without sound.
I think I tried everything for 4 days now.
Sound in my computer works perfectly
I go to where the video files are located and try to run them in VLC or in Nero Kwik so it works fine with both audio and video.
I have checked the sound card.
Yes, I have tried everything so now I'm so tired of this lousy so I'm ready to throw this program at the dump.
It's not normal if you will keep on producing audio for over 4 days at Adobe
The old Elements 9 worked fine. Offer some of would consider developing it again. I do not know how I should do.

On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 working on? Have you updated it from 12 to 12.1 Update using an opened project's Help Menu/Update. If not, please do so.
    For your immediate problem.
What is the model/settings for the JVC camera that recorded you video. I want to get at the properties of your source video including the file extension.
Since you are getting video, but no audio, please download and install the free codec utility named GSpot to see what is shows
for your Audio Name and Status.
    http://www.headbands.com/gspot/
The other properties of the file there would also be of interest.
When you import your source file into the project, do you see any "conforming" activity going in a progress bar at the bottom right corner of the workspace?
If so, do you wait for it to complete before you move forward in the project?
Can you get sound in any of your Premiere Elements projects with this current JVC file or other?
Can we assume that your troubleshooting has included checking
    a. Volume control within the project
    b. Edit Menu/Preferences/Audio Hardware ASIO
Let us start here and then we can decide what next if necessary.

  • How to fix audio  of a video captured from DV output of camcorder using Adobe Premiere Elements 8?

    Hello,
I purchased Adobe Premiere Elements 8 about one week ago.  I installed it and everything seem to work well in my first project.  I am new at editing videos but I was succesful in testing it by loading an existing video file in avi format from my computer and then doing some very basic editing (I splitted 2 scenes and added a title).
After my first succesful project (described above) I started a brand new project. Here, I want to capture a one hour video  from the dv output of a video camera. So I connected the camera to the PC and then started adobe elements 8.  Before starting the capture I only checked the boxes that said "capture video" and "capture audio" (the other 2 boxes that said download to timeline and autoanalyze were left unchecked).  After that I started the capture process.
After the video capture was completed, a small window opened at the bottom saying that a PEAK FILE was being generated.    After the peak file generation finished, I looked at the captured video.  The video looked perfect.  However the audio of the video was too fast. By this, I mean that the voices of the people in the movie were like they were speaking at more than twice the normal speed.  Or to explain it in a different way, they sounded like the  chipmunks.
So now I come to the question of this thread I started.  Is there a way that I can fix the audio part of the video I captured?  I will appreciate any help on this. Below I listed a few additional details in case this is needed.
    Thanks,
    ronel_8
PS.  Here are some more details about my system:
    1) Operating System: Windows XP
    2) I am capturing the video on an external drive with 40 GB of available space. The external drive is connected to a PC via a USB connection.
    3) Computer CPU: 2.4 GHZ
    4) Computer RAM: 1.25 GB
    5) Video tape is about one hour long.

    Hello Bill and Steve,
Your responses are very helpful.  Although I was not able to fix the problem yet I do seem to think from what you both say that my system may be too slow to capture the one hour video. In any case I will copy below more details about the system as you requested:
    1) Results from running Gspot:
The audio section of the Gspot window was blank. That is, no information was there.  The File and Container sections say:
    File Size: 12.6 GB
Note: 7.63 GB unneeded bytes at the end of the file
    DV Type1 AVI
    2) I did run the Gspot on another good avi file (captured to the PC with same camcorder) and says:
    Codec PCM Audio
    32kHz 1024 kb/s tot (2 chnls).
I suppose these are the audio settings from the camera.
    3) Yes, I am capturing video from a miniDV camcorder (JVC GR-D70U).
    4) I did not defragment the external drive prior to capturing the video with the audi problem.  So I will give that I try and see if it solves the problem.
    5) The external drive I am using is formatted to NTFS.
    6) The computer is a Dell Dimension 2400, CPU: 2.4 GHZ, RAM: 1.25 GB
    7) HDD Size=74GB and 11 GB of free space.  But I am downloading video to external drive that has 60 GB free space.
One last piece of information that may be useful.  If I open the AVI file (that I captured with Adobe Premiere Elements) with Windows Media Player, the audi sounds good.  However if I open it with Adobe it has the problem I mentioned in my previous e-mail.
    I'll aprreciate any further hints.
    Thanks again,
    ronel_8
