"Adobe Premiere Pro 2014.1 has stopped working" Open Project Error

Hey, everyone.
I recently tried to re-open a project file that I created earlier today. As soon as it loads, the familiar "Adobe Premiere Pro 2014.1 has stopped working" window comes up.
I created a new project file and it seemed to work fine. When I first started this project, I was having trouble using a ".m2ts" AVCHD movie file (PPro would crash in a similar manner), so I used Media Encoder to change it to a ".mov" Quicktime file. Seemed to work fine after I did that. This new issue only arose once I tried to re-open the project file after shutting down the computer.
Got any suggestions?
-Ross

Correction - I converted the ".m2ts" file to an ".mp4" file, not an ".mov" file.

  • "Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 has stopped working" but was working fine a week ago...

On my desktop (Dell XPS 8300), I keep getting the error message "Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 has stopped working" when openng up a previously created project or trying to create a new one in Premiere Pro CS6.
On my laptop (MS Surface Pro 2), I can load projects and edit them, but I cannot export media.  When I try, it just sits there and does nothing.  I've also tried sending it to Media Encoder, but that doesn't help either.  Sometimes, it crashes too.
I'm running Windows 8.1 on both with the latest updates installed.
Oddly, this started roughly around the same time on both computers.
I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, but that didn't help.
I've run the Windows troubleshooter and that didn't help either.
I've tried running as an administrator, and running the program in compatibility mode for Windows 8, 7 and Vista - that doesn't solve the issue either.
At this point, I can't do any work and am even considering paying for CC even though I just dropped $700 on CS6 last year, but I'm wondering if that would even solve the issue, or if the CC version would also not work...

  • Error message Adobe Premiere Pro CC has stopped working

I am working from a PC with Windows 7 and an i7 intel CPU. Premiere was working just fine and then one day it decided to throw errors at me when I try to place a clip on the timeline. The program will start up fine and import video clips, but won't allow me to add the clips to the timeline without presenting the error message. I have tried updating the drivers through Intel (some other form suggested this) but no luck. I also tried updating Premiere with hope that would fix it. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the program and still no change.
    Anyone else had this problem?
    Any answers would be great!

I have just had the same thing happen to me too. Everything has been working fine but today, Premiere has crashed/stopped working twice. I have managed to get back into it now, but it won't playback either the Source or Program Monitors, saying there is a 'Low-level exception in Adobe Player (Player)'.

  • "Adobe Premiere Pro CC has stopped working" Every-time unless I disable 2 of my graphics cards.

Here is my Speccy info: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/YidTg7uD20BVpMUkaIZ0vfg
Any help getting Premiere to work without having to disable those 2 graphics cards would be great, I'm useless without all my monitors!
    Thanks,

After the Premier Pro CC update in early December, I was unable to start PP at all. (The subsequent upgrade didn't help.) During the startup process, the program would crash telling me that I needed to update my graphics card driver.
After a month -- about ten hours of remote operation of my computer by Adobe techs --  working with Adobe Support (knocked upstairs three times), they determined that the newest version of PPCC does not accept a dual graphics card configuration (it doesn't know which one to choose so determines that both cards are invalid).
Their solution was to revert my machine back to v7.0 and fill out a "Bug" report. I am to wait until they fix the problem before I allow an upgrade.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 10 has stopped working Windows 7 Error Message - Can someone help?

    Hello Everyone,
I wanted to checkout the new version of Adboe Premiere Elements 10 for doing some film editing so I downloaded the Trial Version using the Adobe Download Manager.  Upon installation, I double-clicked the Elements icon and after a few seconds of trying to open, I get the following:
After surfing the web, I followed several steps to ensure I had all of the latest drivers for audio/video components and the latest version of QuickTime.  I uninstalled and re-installed Elements 10 and ensured that my virus protection was turned off.
I am still getting the same error.
    Can anyone help?
    Thank you in advance!

    Will,
    Welcome to the forum.
This ARTICLE has a checklist on getting PrE to work well on one's computer, and then it goes into tuning the computer and OS. Last, there are linked articles on troubleshooting, and on many aspects of one's computer and OS, when the general tune up tips do not fix things. If the checklist, and tuneup tips do not help, then step through the troubleshooting tips, one at a time, as they work up in "degree of difficulty."
    Good luck,

As the crash report says - your outdated video card driver is crashing. You need to update your video card driver from the GPU maker's website (AMD/ATI in this case).

    Hi Noel,
I'm wondering whether your comment addressed to Lmono was intended for me Tmono.
You ask: "So why didn't you provide the same?"
It just didn't occur to me to do so.
My intent was to report that there was at least one other user encountering a similar problem.  It occurred to me that Adobe might be interested in determining the scale of a problem which causes one of  their best known products to fail to run quite so completely after a clean install
I also see that I misreported the OS I'm running - its Windows 8.
If there is further information I can provide which might be helpful in determining a solution, if someone could be specific about what would be helpful, then I will try to respond appropriately.

The X230 has Intel HD 4000 graphics support built in to the processor.  Windows was pretty stubborn about refusing driver updates, but I just managed to get drivers from the Intel site to install and Photoshop is now running, so hopefully I need not try your patience any further.
In case anyone else has a similar problem and stumbles on this the way to install the driver that worked was to:
    - download the zip version of the generic driver from Intel
    - use the 'have disk' option in the windows dialog to install the driver - other paths in the UI did not work with windows refusing to install the driver.

  • Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 has stopped working

When ever I launch Photoshop CC 2014 I get the message Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 has stopped working and then the program closes.  I happens about 5 seconds after I open the program.  I just downloaded yesterday and have not been able to use it at all. Any Ideas?
Windows computer - all other Adobe CC products are working fine

I'm having exactly the same issue. I have no idea how to check out the video card. I'm an artist and incredibly technically handicapped. This is happening on my Brand New Cintiq Companion with windows 8.1. Cant think anything could be out of date already? If someone could post a step by step process to resolving the issue for someone like myself who doesn't know where to start that would be greatly appreciated. I have read the whole thread but still feel nervous to proceed with any rearranging.
"Adobe support indicated that igdfcl64.dll from my Intel's graphics card was causing the issue. After updating the card and nothing changed I did some more research. Searched info about the driver and found out it needed to be copied to windows\sysWOW64 folder. "
I'd like to follow the above advice but if possible some more info would be appreciated.

  • Infuriating 'Adobe InDesign CC 2014 has stopped working error' has lost me a day. Just got dumped by chat support...

    Hi All,
I've taken a few deep breaths before writing this to try and avoid a hugely frustrated rant.
To summarise; since early this morning my previously healthy version of InDesign CC 2014 has been unable to open, crashing at the 'Executing startup services...' stage with the error message 'Adobe InDesign CC 2014 has stopped working'. I worked on it all day yesterday and use it extensively every day more or less, this problem came out of nowhere overnight. I didn't do any kind of system update in the interim period. I'm using a HP Envy dv7 Notebook PC running Windows 8.
I tried as much as I could based on my own very limited knowledge and some forum searching. I re-installed the software. Did that again using the Adobe CC cleaner .exe file in between un-install and re-install. I uninstalled older versions of the software (which all worked fine - as does the rest of the Creative Suite software I have installed. I deleted extensions. None of this helped.
I then went looking for Adobe support and got a guy via Adobe's chat controlling my PC from afar and trying some much deeper technical stuff. After two hours he said that it was an OS issue, sorry... after a bit of dismayed pleading he said OK, I'll try one more thing and made me a new user with administration power, told me to login in to that account and try again. I did, it worked! But it's still broken on my main account and he disconnected in the few minutes I was gone and I now seem to be frozen out of chat help. HELP!
What does this mean? All CS/CC software seems to be working fine on my normal account apart from InDesign CC 2014. I have a huge file, now very close to being overdue, which I was working on in 2014 CC and can't be opened by older versions. The software works on this other account - so I guess I can work there short term. But how do I get it fixed on my main account?
Hopefully someone out there has the answer?
    Thanks!
    Luke

First, see Replace Your Preferences and do it for the original account.
If that fails to solve the problem, rename the two Adobe folders that contain the prefs in the user profile for that account and copy the folders from the new account where it works. You want to be sure you copy the folders, rather than merge the contents, so you must rename the old folders first.
