"Adobe Premiere Pro 6 Quit Unexpectedly" - after deleting Cache files.  All other Adobe programs working.

I went in and deleted Cached files after repeatedly getting the 'scratch disks are full' message.  I have done this before and have had no issues.  However, this time it comes up with a crash message whenever I open Premiere Pro 6.  All other Adobe programs are working fine.
Does anyone know what could be wrong?  Have I accidentally deleted something crucial?  How can I fix this?

If you have a 64bit Windows adding more ram will allow Windows to use that ram, and provide more to CS4

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CC not opening an xml file created in Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014

    Hello,
I had created a project using Adobe Premiere CC 2014 which had some minor changes, which were going to be done by my boss, who uses Premiere Pro CC. However the project file of Adobe Premiere CC 2014 was not getting opened in Premiere Pro CC giving a message of type that as this file was created in a newer version of Premiere, it cannot be opened. After searching on this forum I found that we have to convert the Premiere Pro CC 2014 project file to XML file which can be then imported onto Premiere CC. So I created a XML file by selecting File-> Export -> Final Cut Pro XML and sent it to my boss. However even the xml file is not getting opened after being imported onto Premiere Pro CC giving an error of sorts, Cannot open the file since there is a problem with the codecs.
Have I done something wrong? Please guide me since I am a beginner to the Adobe environment and would very much appreciate any help.
    Thank you.

Indeed..... but are they fully documented, includuing Adobe's implementation of Multicam?
Collapsing them should really be no more than a day or two of work for an Adobe engineer and a day of beta testing.  Seriously.  Lots of people want this - it only takes a few minutes with google to find people struggling with this exact problem.   Premiere Pro Multicam --> Resolve.
Since we do a lot of multicam work it's something that's important to us.
Lots of other people never go near multicam, so I guess for them it's something they really don't care about.
I currently have > 22 hours of multicam sequences that need primary colour correction and follow on grading..... resolve would be the best choice by far.

  • Premiere Pro Quit Unexpectedly and got rid of All of My Edits

I just purchased a membership for the Creative Cloud a few days ago and have been editing my short film on Premiere Pro. I had gotten through all of my sequencing, most of my sound editing, and most of my color grading. Everything was going well. Suddenly, earlier this evening (I had only been editing for a few minutes and had most of my work saved from the previous day), I received an alert that told me an error occurred that would force Premiere Pro to quit, though it would try to restore my work. I figured this wouldn't be an issue since I had only just started editing and most of my work was already saved. However, when I reopened Premiere Pro, another alert popped up telling me that it was trying to restore my work and would therefore have to create a copy of my project, so I agreed to it. When I opened the copy, all my sequencing edits were still there, but all of my color grades and sound edits were no more, as though they had never existed in the first place, and my clips were not sequenced the way they were. Trying to remain calm, I told myself that this was probably just because it was a copy and if I reopened the original file, all would be as it was. However, when I did reopen the original file (the file that had been saved the night before), the same thing happened. My color was not graded, my audio was not edited, and my clips were not sequenced, even though they were when I had saved my project the previous night. I tried opening the autosaved files, but they were all the same. Is there any way to salvage my edits or will I have to accept the loss of days of editing and start anew, other than the sequencing?

Start again and start a manual save backup regime.  Sorry to bring you the bad news.

  • How to properly configure a graphics card for Adobe Premiere Pro, SpeedGrade, and After Effects?

Alright, so I have the following system configuration:
    2 NVIDIA Geforce GTX 970s
    5960X CPU
    MSI X99 Gaming 7 Motherboard
    32 GB DDR4 RAM
256 GB and 1TB Samsung 850 Pro SSDs
Basically, although I have the whole system built together, I'm unsure how to check and know whether or not Adobe Premiere Pro is actually using the graphics card or not.  I know that it has to be using some of it, otherwise it wouldn't launch properly (as I discovered from a recent experience.)  However, I don't know if there are, perhaps, certain settings within the NVIDIA control panel that should be configured so that Premiere Pro can use the card to its full potential.  Here is an example of what I'm talking about:
In other words, these are (I'm pretty sure) all of the default settings that the control panel applies to Premiere Pro.  However, I'm not sure if there are any settings in here that I need to change or not.  So what I'm looking for in a response to this question:
What settings, if any, should I change for Premiere Pro (as well as other adobe applications that can utilize all the strength of the GTX 970)?
How can I check the GPU activity to know that it's being used during a render?  (For example, I can check the CPU utilization with the Task Manager while I render to see that it's being utilized to 100%).
If, perhaps, something else goes wrong and even with the right settings, let's say the card still isn't being fully utilized, what other settings might I have to change to make sure that the GTX 970 is being fully used by Adobe Premiere Pro/After Effects/SpeedGrade CC 2014?

If you want a benchmark to measure the performance of Premiere Pro's utilization of  your: disk system, GPU and CPU use our Premiere Pro BenchMark (PPBM)
When you finish running the test and then run the script, you will get this report
This happens to be the result of my laptop (with SSD drives and a GTX 765M GPU)
The disk performance is self explanatory.
Number 2 is a seven layer very complex timeline with heavy CPU and GPU assistance, without GPU hardware acceleration (CPU only) it would take greater than 1350 seconds.
Three above is a measure of a exaggerated timeline using many, many GPU MPE accelerated effects and features that will use a GPU at 99% load (54 seconds above) and a CPU only export of the same timeline (802 seconds).
If you want to compare your results to others you have to register on the PPBM7 site to see the results.
EDIT! I corrected the number in 2 above originally I said 900 seconds but really it was greater than 1350 seconds

  • Problems with Premiere Pro- Quits unexpectedly

    Hello,
I have several key problems on Adobe Premiere CS6"
The following problem happens when I not only edit, but save, and export my project into a video file.
"Adobe Premiere Elements Has Encountered A Problem and Needs To Close - We Are Sorry For The Inconvenience"
I dunno how to solve or prevent this issue. Is it that my Mac lacks to power to edit, or are any of my settings off?
I don't think its Premiere that's the problem...
I'm guessing that either my preferences are wrong, or I'm just using too much or too large of footage to use on my sequences.
The camera I use is a "Sony HandyCam HDR- PJ650V", and the average video file runs around 1GB.
The media format is ".mts" and the only software that can understand it is Adobe After Effects or Premiere.
I've already lost so much time trying to figure out this problem, also hoping that same generic error message doesn't appear and crash Premiere again.
    It always pops up!
    Please help!!
This error message appears randomly through the following tasks:
    1. Saving the project- It crashes w/ the same message after I click the save button.
    2. Scrolling/previewing my project on the timeline- It might be processing or a GPU disfunction, but After Effects CS6 seens to be running smoothly enough, along with other somewhat hefty programs, like Photoshop. given the graphical prowess it requires.
    3. Rendering the sequence, or composition (AE CS6)- I export my projects with the following settings:
    Format: H.264
    Preset: Youtube HD 1080p, 25
Audio format: AAC, 48000 Hz, Stereo
Also one thing to note, is the GPU is Mercury Accelerater engine, and I cannot change that to running off the CPU, not that GPU
The following specs are what I have to work with:
    Mac:
I am using an IMac with software version 10.7.5.
-Processor:  2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
-Graphics:  ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB
-Kind: ATI Radeon HD 4850 OpenGL Engine

       -Texture Memory: 512
       -Serial Number: W89526355RU
       -Software: Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)
    Adobe Premiere Pro CS6:

      Last Modified:          4/29/13 10:31 PM

  • Avid Unity with Adobe Premiere Pro CC and After Effects

Has anyone used Avid Unity for media with Adobe Premiere Pro CC? I'd like to hear some feedback as we are working on doing that right now, and I'd like to know what the hurdles or pitfalls might be.

Open System Preferences > Mouse and/or Trackpad.
    Adjust the speed.
If that fails, try running the combo updater.

  • Premiere Pro "quit unexpectedly" message every time I quit

There are three editors working on the latest version of Premiere.  Two of us are working on the newest iMacs and one on a Mac Pro.  Every time I quit Premiere on any of the computers I get a message saying that it "quite unexpectedly".  It hasn't caused any noticeable problems with the projects, but I'm not doing anything funky.  After I save a the project I hit "command Q".  The project closes and then I wait about 10 seconds and the message comes up.  Sure enough the app is still present in the dock below with the little light indicating that it's still on, but once I close the "quit unexpectedly" message, the app leaves the dock.
Like I said.  I haven't noticed anything awry with the project/computer/drives, but I'm concerned that it might cause a problem.  Plus it just shouldn't be happening.
    Anyone else with this problem?

I am having the same issue, with all of my CC apps.
Running on a month-old MacPro 6-core, dual ATI D700s, 32 GB RAM (OWC-brand). Working off an OWC ThunderBay IV configured with 4 2TB Toshiba enterprise drives.
I'll work for hours, then quit, only to be told the program "quit unexpectedly."
I did have AfterEffects crash on me once, and Premiere as well once (if I remember correctly), but I assumed both of those were normal minor hiccups for a month of work.

  • Logic Pro Quits Unexpectedly after Quitting Live

This is a minor thing but still an annoyance. Every time I use Ableton Live as a rewire slave to Logic Pro, everything works just fine--until I quit the programs. I'll quit Live first, of course--no problem. I'll then quit Logic--and as it quits, it hangs for a second, and then the "Logic Pro has quit unexpectedly" message appears. I've searched this discussion and the Logic Users discussion to see whether others have experienced this as well--but I haven't found anything. Any thoughts?

    Hi....
This happens with my system too exactly as you've outlined above. I 'close' the current track within Logic before quitting the app itself. I've no idea if this makes a difference but don't like to risk corrupting data within song files.

  • After Dell uninstalled my Adobe Premiere Elements 9 I cannot reinstall it nor any other Adobe

I recently ran into a problem with my Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and in the course of trying to reinstall a missing MSVCRT.dll file they uninstalled my Adobe Premiere Elements 9. Now I cannot reinstall it. I keep getting an unable to contact the Windows Installer Service message AND a message that says it cannot install an MSXML.dll file. I have tried everything I know, they tried everything they know, are trying to tell me I need to do a complete reinstall of my system. Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on an Inspiron 2320. I have two separate program CD's for Adobe Elements programs and they both are unrelated disk. Neither one will install the program, they both get the same error. I had the program on a backup harddrive, I copied it and I can get the basic program to work by using the .exe file but I cannot get the addition items that originally came on a 2nd disk to install, no matter what I do. Apparently, I cannot install anything else Adobe either. AIR will not install, Adobe Premiere Elements 11 trial will not install. For that matter, I don't think the Adobe installer is installing. Dell keeps saying to talk to Adobe. Ha! If anyone can figure out what is wrong that adobe stuff wont install let me know. Or where I can get this MSCML.dll file? How to get it into the computer? I have already had to do 4 complete reinstalls on this computer since I bought it in June and I am not looking forward to having to do it yet again. Also, when I do try to install it, it install the entire program then gets to the end, gives me the error message (and you can find the files in the program files) but when you click OK or cancel the cannot instal MSXML file message, then it automatically uninstalls everything it installed and there seems to be no way to stop it.

Well, whatever Dell tech handled this, has no clue. They ruined your Windows Installer on a systemic level. Try to download the Microsoft Installer standalone package from the MS web site or let Windows Update update e.g. Internet Explorer. If that doesn't work, I'm afraid only reinstalling Windows from scratch will fix things...

  • InDesign 5 'quit unexpectedly' after deleting preferences & even reinstalling

InDesign 5, after restarting my computer this morning, keeps crashing immediately when I try to open the software.
I have no idea why because it worked fine before the restart.
I tried deleting (all of them indicating from the forums) preferences:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe InDesign CS5.5
    ~/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign
    ~/Library/Caches/com.adobe.InDesign
    ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.InDesign.plist
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.InDesign.plist.lockfile
    ~/Library/Saved Application State/com.adobe.InDesign.savedState
Tried that before and after restarting, doesn't work.
I even tried uninstalling and installing.
Can anyone out there help me?!
My error report at starting up:
    http://pastebin.com/RbRJAb2K

just to confirm, do i do this through system preference and set one of the printers as default? do i also need to directly connect (with wire) the printer to the computer? i'm not quite sure how printers relate to this but i'll do whatever. thanks for your patience btw.

  • IPhoto Keeps Quitting Even after Deleting Plist Files Repairing perm Files

When I try to launch iPhoto The page seems to begin to load then I get a box saying " The application iPhoto has unexpectedly quit". I tried to troubleshoot by deleting the iPhoto plist files and then I repaired the permission files. There is still no change.
What else can I do? Thanks very much for your help!

Glad to help, but I think you worked the magic Sally. Deleting photos from the Desktop is harmless to iPhoto, and doing the same again should not be a problem. Maybe it was the overfull disk that initially caused iPhoto to think, 'I don't have enough space here to open, so I'll crash.'
It works like this. If you connected a camera and imported them into iPhoto, then that is the only place those photos reside and to delete any of them afterwards would have to be done in iPhoto where you would select a photo, then Move to Trash. This would keep the index straight.
But if you had some photos on your desktop and imported them into iPhoto, it makes a copy of them inside the iPhoto Library. If you were to delete one of those photos from the Desktop, it would still show in iPhoto because its copy still exists in the iPhoto Library.
So when you reported the problem arose after your deleted some photos, it made me think along the lines I did. But as you didn't muck about with the iPhoto Library folder's contents, you could not have damaged it. So you haven't done anything to wreck things. Maybe iPhoto was just choking from a lack of space.
It's great your photos are still all there. Now, with that copy of your iPhoto Library - put it on a CD for safe keeping. Games, software, info from websites, even songs can mostly be replaced if need be, but one's photos are unique and deserved to be backed up, to either another hard drive or burnt to an optical disk.
A tip: I suggest you create a new folder in your Pictures folder called say, ExtraShots (name it what you like) and put your photos there instead of the desktop. Doing so is not crucial, just tidy, and there is a slight advantage that your computer will run quicker if the Desktop is uncluttered.
Not a tip: Do keep your hard drive down to less than about 90% full / at least 10% "available free space" as Macs like room.
All the best, and I hope you take some great photos.
