Adobe Premiere Pro serious error CS3
Hi All,
Thought I would share this error with Premiere Pro CS3 with you all:
"Sorry, a serious error occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down"
Sure, you've all seen it before. I have some quite specific instances of the problem though. PP CS3 is fairly stable most of the time. But I have noticed that the above error appears when I double click Dynamics in the Audio Mixer. That is, I put Dynamics into the effects list on one channel in the sequence and double click it to change the compression details and the error appears.
The weird thing is, it NEVER does it the first time I do it. I add another sequence to my project, drop some DV onto it, add Dynamics to the audio channel drop down box, double click it (or right click and select Edit) and it ALWAYS errors. It's definately doing it ever single SECOND time.
Some details? I'm running Vista 64 Home Premium OEM. Intel Q6600 Quad Core (it's currently over clocked to 3.0GHz). 4Gb Corsair XMS2 DDR2 RAM. An Abit P35 board and a few 500Gb SATA drives for video. My Vista 64 install is fairly clean as I only changed to Vista recently and I dare not use my edit box for anything dodgy. It has a couple of games on it that don't have any issues.
I'm thinking the problem must be something to do with Premiere Pro itself, my HD Realtek Audio drivers or something about Vista 64. I have seen this error loads when I Google it but I have never seen someone log it specifically for double clicking effects in the Audio Mixer. I'm not yet going to have a fiddle around with my system to try and fix it because I have a valuable project on the go and not enough time to redo it if I break it. But once I have finished my current project, I may try a few things like resintalling CS3 and playing around with drivers.
In the meantime, any ideas out there? :-)
Regards,
A.
Allan, the original poster is on a PC. As far as I know, Realtek cards are not used in mac computers.
To look at Audio Settings on your Mac (which I'm assuming is OSX) you'll need to go System Preferences > (Hardware) > Sound.

Grazie in anticipo dell'aiuto
I downloaded Adobe Premiere Pro, and every time I try to run it I get this message: "Error starting Adobe premiere pro. Premiere Pro can not access the preferences folder. It 'possible that the user does not have permission ... .. ". I tweaked the permissions of the folders, but continues to repeat the same message, without even allowing the applications to open. What can I do?
P.S. The strange thing is that Premiere is the only program that harbor the "pro" ... all the others are just CC. I do not know if it can be a factor ....
Thanks in advance aidDoing Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 [says Encore and also for "All" versions of Premiere] will sometimes fix "odd" errors

Adobe Premiere Pro Startup Error - Preference Folder
We keep getting this error every time we try and open up Premiere CC 2014 (See attached image)
We are on a MacPro5,1 (Mid 2010), OSX 10.7.5, Dual Quad-core Intel 2.4 GHz, 36GB RAM, 1GB ATI Radeon HD 5770, latest CC 2014 installed on computer.
Photoshop CC 2014 and AE CC 2014 open up just fine. We have done what the box says with applying permissions to the folder mentioned in the pic below. We have also restored permission using Disk Utility, restarted computer, and uninstalled and re-installed Premiere CC 2014.
Any suggestions on what the problem could be?
Thanks!

Sorry to hear that. You may want to update your OS as OS X 10.7 is not supported for Premiere Pro: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/os-x-107-supported.html
This may also help: Premiere Pro CC, CC 2014, or 2014.1 freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later)
It's for OS X 10.9 and later but may still occur on earlier versions of OS X.

Premiere Pro Serious Error: Timeline Blacked Out! Wont Open HELP?!
I was editing, when I nested a already nested Mulitcam Edit Sequence in order to trim it down, and when I did suddenly the Audio Tracks on the Timeline like blacked out, bets way to desrcibe it, and now it says Serious Issue, closes out and won't repon. I restarted my computer and that project ONLY wont open. It is saved and all, plus other projects will open. ANyone had any idea what to do?
ThanksI recall reading from another user who had an issue when nesting an MC edit, though I don't remember the details, or if a solution was found. You might try a forum search.

Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 cannot be re-installed
Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 cannot be reinstalled after failing for unknown reasons (no program crash but after a normal start-up after working flawlessly for years). I get the message: "Adobe Premiere Pro Startup Error: Adobe Premiere Pro was unable to communicate with the process "Importer Process Server". Reastarting your computer may fix this problem". Several trials showed that this is not true. -- I uninstalled the program using the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and reinstalled it with the original, registered DVDs. Several trials failed (the antivirus program and the firewall were inactivated). I continue to get the same message. - The Adobe Encore CS4 included in Premiere, however, seems to work normally. But the Adobe Media Encoder CS4 does not function as well. The following message is shown (miraculously in German and translated by me): The product starting point
??0NewHandlerinitializer@ErrorManager@config@dvacore@@QAE@XZ was not found. - I suspect that a faulty Premiere file remains in spite of the cleaning action by the Adobe Cleaner Tool. The black screen of the Cleaner Tool does no longer list any sign of Premiere. The Windows Registry and the C:/ disk were cleaned as well (CCleaner).
Thank you for your help!
Alex LandoltThe Permiere installation went very smoothly after inactivating the
anti-virus (Kaspersky) program and the firewall (Windows 7, Kaspersky). I
had done a first trial and forgot to do this inactivation. Premiere did not
install correctly and I received a corresponding message suggesting a
repeat installation. I used the Cleaner Tool again and removed the
leftovers of this aborted installation again.
Thanks for your efforts to help me.

Sorry, a serious error has occured that requires adobe premiere pro to shut down
Every time I start premiere pro, i get this message
Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires adobe premiere pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project.
I have no idea why this is happening because the program has been working fine for nearly 7 months.
My ram is 2gb, I have a c2d processor and a powerful psu and a gfx card.
Any ideas as what I can do, I have already reinstalled, removed vst plugins and reset all sorts of preferences and caches.
THank youHead to the Adobe site's 'knowledgebase', type optimise CS3 for (Windows XP, if that's what your using) and following the instructions there, house clean. I find doing this helps clean out those nasty messages

Nothing has changed on the PC prior to program failure.

Tried:
Reinstalling
Reducing to one screen.
Holding Shift when starting until first screen (New/ Open Existing/ Help)
Holding Ctrl, Shift Alt when starting until first screen (New/ Open Existing/ Help)
Programme crashed regardless of clicking directly on loading icon and opening New or Existing via first load screen, or via clicking directly from a project file.
Removed all fonts installed since last opened.
Restarting.
Updated Graphics Driver.
Updated PremiereHi guys; I thought I would share my experience and how I managed to fix this problem. It might help someone.
In my case I kept receiving this message; eventually after re-launching Premiere, I actually paid close attention to the "software loading" information and saw that it got stuck on my installed "Colorista ii" which is a colour grading software.
Now the red bulb came on my head ping!
I recently just upgraded my Mac to the OS X Yosemite & that affected pretty much any non-updated application, which in my case was that and many more of the Red Giant Pacakge; so I searched for the upgrade via Red giant Link, and low and behold I found it and did so. Immediately everything loaded up perfectly fine.. and now can't even do the work, cos I'm so exhausted from an 'almost heartattack'; so going to sleep and commence later in the day I guess..
Now, you might probably want to check if any application on your system needs upgrading to whatever is the operating system on your Mac or PC at this very time. It might help.
Always back-up.
I hope I helped someone :-)

There is an error that says when I am open my project: 'Sorry a serious error has occured that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project'. What is the solution? (mac)
This happens to me all the time too. When I attempt to reopen, it makes a "copy of" my project. This is frustrating and happiness often.

"A Serious Error Has Occurred That Requires Adobe Premiere Pro to Shut Down"
"A Serious Error Has Occurred That Requires Adobe Premiere Pro to Shut Down" Pops up every time I export a video.. I have 2 TB of space where i'm exporting so thats not the issue... I'm using RED Giant Pluraleyes to match multiple cameras but other then that, there are no other 3rd party plug ins being used...
This is very frustrating. I'm using updated CC and have tried shutting down the computer (iMac) and tried exporting to different locations on and off my HDD.

Every time I open any project in Adobe Premiere CC Trial Version, I get the message "Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will try to save your project." I can't edit at all and am totally stuck. Please help!
It's terrible that this is happening on the trial version as it's making me want to go straight back to FCP! Also - I've tried switching external hard drive and that also doesn't work.
Thank you!So, opening a new project works?

Every time I place a video into the sequence timeline, this error message pops up, "Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project." and then Premiere crashes.
I tried uninstalling all products and then reinstalling them, and the problem is still there.
What can I do to fix this?@RoninEdits, Thanks for the response.
But yeah, I've tried both the Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration AND Software Only and its the same issue with both.
