Adobe Premiere Pro to Quicktime - iPod Video

I have a question about going from a video editing system such as Adobe Premiere Pro - to Quicktime. I have been exporting my Premiere Pro videos to AVI files and then opening them in
Quicktime and exporting them to iPod compatible video. Is there a way to go right from Premiere Pro to Quicktime? Cause right now, I have to do an extra step - export the AVI and then export that AVI to Quicktime MP4 iPod compatible video.
This method takes an awful long time - even for a 20 minute clip of video. Any suggestions? If I can't go directly from Adobe Premiere to MP4 - is there a smaller file I can export to first so that when I export that file to MP4 it will render quicker then an uncompressed AVI file?
Thanks!
Foochuck

It depends on how connected Premiere is with QuickTime. In most apps that can export QuickTime, when you install QuickTime 7, a new QuickTime option (export to ipod essentially) becomes available. However, there ARE apps that use QuickTime directly and would have to be altered to allow access to new modes.
After you get your uncompressed .AVI, if you're using QuickTime Pro's iPod export, it's creating an H.264 file of high quality and that WILL take a VERY long time. I would like to see a comparison chart of encoding times so anyone could tell how long an encode is likely to take, but I don't think one exists.
There ARE tools out there that use the older H.263 codec, and as such are much faster (and there are some that may even be faster at H.264 compression) but they're not as easy to use. You can do a search in the iPod forums here to find one that's right for you.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro Automatically Crops Source Video Upon Import

This is really confusing me and I've never had this kind of trouble before.  I have source videos that are 720x480, but as soon as I import them into Premiere, they are cropped to 540x480.  It's not a problem with sequence settings or anything, because the imported source file is cropped before it's even in a sequence.  I tried looking on-line for a solution, but couldn't find any.  Does anyone know how this can be fixed...maybe some import settings that I don't know about?
Here are some screenshots to visually represent what I was saying:
This is properties of the video
This is what Premiere automatically does right after the video is imported as a source
This is a screenshot when played with VLC:

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.  This video is due Saturday and all my footage is cropped, please help me.  Thank you!

    11.  Re: Adobe Premiere Pro AND Adobe Premiere Elements 13 Automatically Crops Source Video Upon Import
My AP Elements (version 13) has exactly the same bug. I have a DVD where 25% of every VOB file's images' right border has been cut away during the inserting phase into Elements. No adjusting of frame and pixel aspect ratios, black borders narrow or wide, project settings automatic or manual do not help. Gone is gone. But the same VOB files play normally (100% image) in many other players/editors. I have experimented with VLC and Wondershare Video Converter.
On the other hand Elements is able to read correctly other DVD's VOB files. See discussion about this very same bug in Elements thread.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro wont play any video/audio

Hello! i recently got an Adobe creative cloud membership. and so i have been editing a video. no problems, no lag, nothing, its all been wonderful.
but i sent the video to SpeedGrade, then exported from there and had an audio sync issue, that i decided to fix by aligning the old video clips audio with the new graded versions video.
upon importing (old non graded and new greaded versions) the 8 minute files, and double clicking them to view them, they wouldn't play, even after a couple minutes.
and they wouldn't play in the timeline either.
so i tried many things, restarting, deleting my preference files, deleting and re-installing the application, using different video files + projects.
i even tried an old project that i had. no other applications are suffering from this problem. (like after effects or speedgrade, they are 100% fine)
i also tried different settings, including ones with the mercury playback engine. no luck
    No other forum has helped.
i have a 21.5 inch Imac, with an intel i5 processor.
    8 gig of RAM. a 500gb HD
and an AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB
    i am running OS X 10.8.2

it was a video i was working on. i didnt export it to speedgrade though, i used dynamic link (send to speedgrade command) and sent the entire timeline to speedgrade.
i quite premiere because i didnt need it any more (at that point because i was using speed grade) then i exported out of speedgrade the graded clip and brought that into premiere. and now premiere wont play anything.
UPDATE: however when i scrub, it plays through the video but i dont hear audio (even though the setting for that is turned on).
and when i press the space bar (or the play/stop button) over and over after i scrubbed a little bit, it will jump back and forth, so obviously not a hard drive permission/read error.
and lastly, when i try to change the amount of zoom it has in the viewer (fit, 10$, 100%, 50% etc.) it crops the image and then the applications becomes unresponsive.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 Cutting off video in export?

Ok when I view my sequence in the output monitor I enjoy how it looks. I export and unfortunately, parts of my video are cut off. I see that there are the safe video guides but is there a way to export the whole view. Because that means I would have to resize all of my clips that I imported. P.S. Output is set to 720 X 480 and imported clips are the same. But they still get cut off

Sure I'm hoping that there is a swith or drop down somewhere. I didn't know how hard it would be to export beyond the safe guard bounds lol

  • Horizontal lines across video in Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0

I had used a software called Virtualdub to deinterlace and remove lots of garbage from the edges of a video. I had also used a software called Neat Video inside of Virtualdub to remove a lot of grains from my vhs video.   I prefer to use Adobe Premiere because it's superior to Virtualdub when it comes to color correction.   That is my own opinion, however,  I imported the video from Virtualdub into Adobe Premiere.  I did some color corrections on my vhs video.  The video looks a whole better than the original.  I saved the video with the color correction and exported it as an avi file.  I exported the same video into Pinnacle to burn on a dvd.  I noticed that the video had a lot of  fine horizontal lines going across it.  I would like to know what am I doing wrong with all of  these procedures.  I'm a beginner trying to learn how to use Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0. for video editing.  I would like to use this software totally to edit my video instead of using Pinnacle software. I hope that my problem isn't too complicated.  Thanks.
    Gerald Sr.

You can do everything in Premiere: you do not need VD or Pinnacle.
First of all I would not deinterlace nor get rid of the edge gargage of the original footage in VD.
Depending on how the deinterlacing is being done, it still will bring down the quality off the footage.
If its for dvd on a standalone player just leave it interlaced.
Edge garbage is easily removed in Pro2 by scaling up the footage a tiny bit.
I would only use Neat Video in VD and export the footage to avi with the Lagarith codec which will give you a lossless file.
    http://lags.leetcode.net/codec.html
Or skip VD and get Neat Video as a plugin for Premiere
In Premiere you can create dvd's and besides it has a much better mpeg2 encoder then Studio has.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 resizes my video. Help!

    Hey guys!
I recorded a video with my Canon HD HG20 in 1920x1080 px and wanted to cut it in Adobe Premiere Pro but the whole video lost the margin so that sometimes my head is not on the screen. It's hard to explain thats why Ive taken a screenshot to show it:
(If the screenshots aren't available, just take the links:

I thought that if I would render it it will be fullscreen then so that the preview function is a little bit buggy but the renderoption offered a resolution of 720x576 and I can't change this.
I hope that you can understand my problem and will help me. Thanks in advance.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 Video Codec + with 60d

    Hi all at Adobe.com forums,
I have been actively using Adobe After Effects, as well as Premiere Pro to import my video and subsequently alter the footage to my liking. My question is this...
-When you export any of the footage (from the native .mov format on the Canon 60d), I want to retain as much image quality as possible, but keep the file size to an appropriate margin where I can edit the altered footage for future use. I currently use Quicktime Animation - but the file sizes are too large. This causes hang-ups while editing, as well as leaving a mammoth footprint on my HD.
What settings do you use when rendering video? What are the optimal settings?
    cwakely

retain as much image quality as possible, but keep the file size to an appropriate margin
Those two goals are mutually exclusive.  Keeping the file size down means compression, and that reduces quality.  Keeping the quality means no or lossless compression, and that requires lots and lots of bits.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 crashing when importing HDV Video

For some reason I keep getting crashes when importing HDV (720p60) video into the timeline of Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.  This has happened on two different machines, with similar specs.
Per the suggested guidelines, here are the specifics:
    Version of Premiere Pro: CS6, Version 6.0.5 (001 (MC:264587))
    All updates have been installed.
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.8.5.
Source footage: HDV 720p60 video in .MOV container.
Full text of error message: "Sorry, a serious error has occured that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down.  We will attempt to save your current project."
Link to full crash report: http://goo.gl/Gn8Bzn
Crash occurs when trying to import HDV .MOV file.
This is a consistent problem when importing .MOV files of this type.
Complete Adobe Creative Suite is installed.  Also using Episode Pro encoding software from Telestream to prepare HDV video.  No other external video hardware or codecs installed.
Yes, I am using the Mecury Playback Engine GPU acceleration.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me figure this one out.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro Video Play Issue

This is probably not an advanced question, but I'm having a lot of trouble finding an answer.  I'm trying to use Adobe Premiere, and I'm importing my video.  In the first screen, the top left video play area that I import my raw video into, I find that I'm getting a very choppy play.  The choppy play is making it difficult for me to time my cuts.  The screen image will freeze while the audio continues to play.
When this happened initially, I assumed it was my hardware.  I was running what I considered to be a decent machine, but I figured I needed a better one.  So, I went and bought a better one.  Now I'm running a machine with a Quadro 3100 graphics card.  It's an I7, quad core, about 2.8 ghz if I recall correctly.  (It's supposed to be able to over clock or boost or something, but I don't know much about that stuff.)
Anyway.  Is there some sort of setting I should be using?  Any advice would be really, sincerely appreciated.

    John T. Smith,
My apologies for not having provided more information.
What version of Premiere Pro? Include the minor version number (e.g., Premiere Pro CS5.5 with the 5.5.2 update).
I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro 5.5, and I believe I just updated it to the 5.5.2.
Have you installed the recent updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
I ran the update this morning, which is why I believe I'm using the 5.5.2.
What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac".
Windows 7, and I believe it is Professional.
What kind(s) of source footage? When telling about your source footage, tell us about the codecs, not just the container types. For example, "H.264 in a .mov container", not just "QuickTime".
These are Quicktime .mov files.  I'm afraid I don't have a lot of other information.  They are files that were transferred to my computer, but I wasn't around when they were initially done.
If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?
    No error message.
What were you doing when the problem occurred?
    The problem is consistent.
    Has this ever worked before?
I've never seen it play smoothly.
What other software are you running?
Just typical Microsoft Office programs, and Chrome, and maybe Explorer.  But I rarely run anything else while I'm attempting to work in Premiere.
Do you have any third-party effects or codecs installed?
    To my knowledge, no.
Tell us about your computer hardware. Be especially certain to tell us about third-party I/O hardware (e.g., AJA, Matrox, Blackmagic, MOTU).
    I'm using the MSI WT Series WT60 2OK 3K-615US 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black)
Are you using Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration?
I do not know how to use this.
Does the problem only happen with your final output, with previews, or both?
It only happens to the raw footage and timeline footage.  The output is fine, assuming I can find the correct place to make the cuts.

  • Quicktime Effects in Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5

I've recently upgraded from Adobe Premiere 6.5 to Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5. In 6.5 there are a number of neat video effects under the heading Quicktime effects, however these don't seem to be available in the new 1.5 version.
Are they available for this version of Premiere, and if so, where? Or can they be transfered/copied from 6.5 to 1.5 as I still have the previous version of Premiere installed as well?
    Any help very much appreciated.

  • Does adobe Premiere Pro CC edit and export 4k and higher video resolutions?

Hey Guys I am new the forum but have been using adobe products for years. I am having some problems finding if Adobe Premiere Pro CC effectively lets you edit and export video at 4k and higher. I am having a custom built computer to specifically handle high resolution output and video editing. I have a 5k monitor to go with it as we;;. Long story short is I need to make sure I can edit and export at full resolution. I am not interested in compressing the video output to 1080P from a 4k video input source. It would be a shame if I have to learn a completely new software program for my business because I have loved previous versions of the adobe premiere pro. any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I am expected to get my custom build back this afternoon. Thanks in advance for any help provided!
