Adobe Premiere Serious Error!

I have recently reinstalled Adobe Premiere 9 on Win Pro7 64 bit (as my old disk was filling up) and every time I open up an old project or try to create a new one I get this error. "Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premier Elements to shut down.  We will attempt to save your current project.  This in effect renders the software unusable.  I have tried restarting my computer.  Not sure what I can do next!

Premiere Elements 9 on Windows 7 64 bit.
Lots of questions and answers to put together.
1. Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
2. If you have not already, download and install the 9.0.1 Update (you do not need the program opened for this)
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4929
3. Are you running the computer and program as Administrator?
4. Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1?
5. Is your video card/graphics card driver version up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card?
Please confirm name of card and how many from Device Manager/Display Adapters.
6. Delete the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file, and, if necessary, the whole 9.0 Folder in which it exists.
Local Disk C

AppData
Roaming

9.0
and in the 9.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete....and, if necessary, you delete the whole 9.0 Folder in which
it exists. Make sure files, folders, and drives are not hidden. See Folder Options dialog/View Tab and the Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives
option and make sure that it is enabled with a dot.
Let us start here and then decide what next.

I am getting the following error when launching Adobe Premiere Pro CS6:
Adobe Premiere Pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display  drivers and start again.
I checked my drivers and they are up-to-date. I am using Core I7 Windows 7. I did have Adobe Premiere CS5 installed and it worked fine. When I subscribed to the Creative Cloud I uninstalled the CS5 installation and downloaded the CS6.

Hi guys; I thought I would share my experience and how I managed to fix this problem. It might help someone.
In my case I kept receiving this message; eventually after re-launching Premiere, I actually paid close attention to the "software loading" information and saw that it got stuck on my installed "Colorista ii" which is a colour grading software.
Now the red bulb came on my head ping!
I recently just upgraded my Mac to the OS X Yosemite & that affected pretty much any non-updated application, which in my case was that and many more of the Red Giant Pacakge; so I searched for the upgrade via Red giant Link, and low and behold I found it and did so. Immediately everything loaded up perfectly fine.. and now can't even do the work, cos I'm so exhausted from an 'almost heartattack'; so going to sleep and commence later in the day I guess..
Now, you might probably want to check if any application on your system needs upgrading to whatever is the operating system on your Mac or PC at this very time. It might help.
    Always back-up.
    I hope I helped someone :-)

  • 'Sorry a serious error has occured that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project'. What is the solution? (Mac)

There is an error that says when I am open my project: 'Sorry a serious error has occured that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project'. What is the solution? (mac)

This happens to me all the time too. When I attempt to reopen, it makes a "copy of" my project. This is frustrating and happiness often.

  • Sorry, a serious error has occured that requires adobe premiere pro to shut down

Every time I start premiere pro, i get this message
Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires adobe premiere pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project.
I have no idea why this is happening because the program has been working fine for nearly 7 months.
My ram is 2gb, I have a c2d processor and a powerful psu and a gfx card.
Any ideas as what I can do, I have already reinstalled, removed vst plugins and reset all sorts of preferences and caches.
    THank you

Head to the Adobe site's 'knowledgebase', type optimise CS3 for (Windows XP, if that's what your using) and following the instructions there, house clean. I find doing this helps clean out those nasty messages

  • Another "Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Elements to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project."

When I try an open the original project or a copy of it I get this message.
"Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Elements to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project."
I have tried to create a new project and get the same message.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program a few times.
The last time I worked on the project I had no issues.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi
    a. Open Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 - Yes, I get the welcome screen (v9.0).  I can choose open project, and choose my project.  The program will open and show that it is loading the project with the scroll line will show all the way to 100% and will stay there.  Sometimes I get the "Sorry" message and sometimes the loading project window just goes away and nothing is loaded and the program stays on the clock until I close it.
    b. You can find the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and deletion of it makes no difference to your issue. - Made no difference
    c. Have you deleted the whole 9.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists? If not, please do so. - Done, made no difference
    1. Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled? - Running McAfee Total Access Protection.  Turned off firewall and anti virus. It works.  As a test I left the anti virus off and tried loading project with and with out the firewall turned on.  The project loaded each time.  I then tested the firewall on, with and with out antivirus.  Antivirus off - project loads each time.  Antivirus on - doesn't load and program stays on clock.
I will continue to experiment with it and see what happens.  The last time I used it I was running a different McAfee product than no.  So it seems to work with the Firewall on and the Antivirus off.
