Adobe premiere video editing package for $99 this weekend

Is this system compatible with the mac? When I went to purchase it, it said the operating system is for windowns. I need this to put photos and video clips together in a "movie". This is what I need to buy correct? Also, is there an extra discount on top of this for teachers?

kvolley
What version of Premiere Elements are you planning on buying (latest version 12?) and on what computer operating system will it be running on...Windows or Mac, which one?
I would agree with John that the boxed packaging will include the program installation disc for Windows and one for Mac. And, you decide which one is appropriate for your computer.
I have found that Adobe is no longer selling the boxed packaging, only a download. For boxed packaging and 2 types of installation disc, then you go to an authorized reseller.
The purchase as a download results in a download specific for the
your particular computer operating system to which the download is downloaded. You do not get to pick and choose; your computer operating system does.
For pricing, that is an Adobe matter. We are not Adobe. Just Premiere Elements users trying to help other Premiere Elements users with their Premiere Elements workflows.

It will be amazing if you (HP people) can develop and integrate a video editing software like Adobe premiere Pro into the HP Sprout.

HP is pretty reticent to revealing "Future Plans".  It would be a real shot in the arm though if this happens!
How about it @Ty1 ?  Can you shed any light on the subject?

Sometimes the Adobe servers used for the updates can get busy and it’s necessary to try a couple of times. Also make sure you don’t have a firewall which may be blocking the connection. It sometimes helps to temporarily disable internet security/anti-virus software. Because the Organizer is shared by both programs it often helps to do the PSE update first, followed by the PRE update in that order.
Select the 12.1 update for PSE from the updater dialog and ensure everything else is unchecked.  Quit PSE and PRE if you have it running and then start the update.
If PSE updates properly to 12.1 repeat the process for PRE.

  • Windows Video Editing Software for Vado HD

I just got the Vado HD and I am having trouble getting it to work in any video editing programs I try.
It will not work in windows movie maker, ulead video studio, or power director. It works the best in Pinnacle Studio 2, but the video in the preview window is all messed up so?I can't really see what I am working on.
Any ideas? Is there anybody else using this product with windows? If so, what software do you use for editing the videos?

There's some posts in this forum about what people have successfully used.
Me.. I was running XP, now Vista, with the same Video Editing package:

Although it was less than $50 just a month ago:

I have Final Cut Studio V1 - the PPC/Intel V5/5.1 cross-grade version, which would suit your requirements perfectly. (I have it for sale at present down here).
If you keep looking, you're sure to find a similar second hand copy in your area, without the need to upgrade your graphics card.
I'd go for Final Cut Pro as above over any version of Express. FCP has the full version of LiveType - not the truncated version that was released later on.

  • What is best basic video editing app for Mac

I'm looking for a video editing application for the mac. I only require something basic, as in being able to crop out unwanted footage and join multiple movie files then export to MP4 format.
I don't need to add audio, titiles or make colour adjustments etc.
Tried iMovie but not a fan.

It sounds like the real need here is for an online collaboration solution, not necessarily building a website from scratch. It would be best to find a service that already does what you want, have a multi-user discussion board that supports multiple groups. Blackboard Learn looks like it integrates grading, evaluations, tests, multimedia, etc., so if the actual scope of your project is like that, maybe Blackboard Learn is the way to go. But is it too much?
If you are merely looking for a space where groups of students can merely discuss privately and not much else, you could conceivably go with something like Facebook Groups, Google+ Communities, etc. These are already coded and tested across multiple platforms and reinforced for security.
You could simply "get a website program" like iWeb or RapidWeaver, but the serious disadvantage of these programs is that you have to build it from nothing. You code the logins, you code the discussion group architecture, you make it work with laptops, tablets, and phones, you code it against hackers and mischievous students. Unless you can handle that (and maybe you did back with iWeb), it might be better to go with a ready-made "groupware" solution that is already tested and robust.

  • Need Laptop Recommendation - best for Adobe Premiere Pro editing

I am in the process of looking for a new laptop and need recommendations based on how I will use the laptop.  I produce video and mainly use the following programs: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro CS2, Adobe Encore DVD.  I also use other photo editing software such as AutoFX PGE7.0.
I currently have an HP Pavilion which is about 5 years old.  This desktop has the following specs:
    HP Pavilion PU131AV / a1050y, Windows XP MCE, SP3 32bit, Nvidia GeForce 6600, Intel Pentium 4 CPU, 3.20 GHz, 2GB of RAM
I believe that with a new laptop, I could create my videos more efficiently.  If you have any input as to what I need in a laptop for my specific purposes, please let me know.
    Thanks so much,
    Angela

    Harm,
Thank you for your response.  I have yet to buy the new computer but will be doing so in the next couple of days.  I read the links you provided, and another thread which discussed the performance of a laptop vs a desktop.  I have changed my mind and will be purchasing a desktop.  I need advice concerning this purchase, but will start a new discussion to do so.
    Thanks so much,
    Angela

  • Want to build a video editing machine for Premiere Pro CC

I will only be using this machine for Premiere pro CC.I would like you guys to have a look at the specs I have chosen, give your suggestions:
i5 4th gen 4670K 3.4 Ghz LGA 1150 (Keeping in mind the benchmark tests found on this site for CC)
    Ram Corsair 16 GB Corsair DDR3 @ 1333Mhz. Either 4GB  x 4 or 4GB x 2 + 8GB X 1.I already have 8 GB of ram so I am stuck with 1333Mhz.Will this really matter? is 1600mhz better for video editing ?
Motherboard has to be in MSI as I had bad experiences with Asus and Intel original.I am confused about the chipset though..Has to be Z series right??
    HDD - 2TB x 1 @ 7200rpm Seagate
1TB x 1 @ 7200rpm Seagate     I already have the HDDs from the last machine.
Graphics Card - Within 12k INR.No choice in particular though I had good experience with Sapphire AMD  6670 AND R7 250. I hear AMD is no good for video editing?is it true?
    Prefrences- Saphire for AMD
                        Zotac for Nvidia
Please recomend me a PSU.What shoud be the wattage? Also, need some guidance for buying a UPS.Have this one as of now:

psst- Do I need a cooling option if I am not running this machine in an air conditioned room?
As for the OS is Microsoft Windows 8 / 8.1 SL OEM 64 bit ok ?
I am also looking to buy a Full HD monitor under 12K INR.
Thanks a lot in advance !!

The new Haswell E CPU is out now. THAT is what you want for a new editing machine. ESPECIALLY for heading into the future, which will involve 4K and other, maybe more DEMANDING codecs. SEE Eric Bowen's posting here on this forum regarding the test results for video editing using the Haswell E...vs. the older CPUs.
The Haswell E now has a new chipset,( X99), that brings MANY new features, AND, the Haswell E NOW features "quad  channel" memory...to handle large amounts of data FASTER. The new motherboards have TEN SATA III ports, for a variety of HIGH SPEED storage options !! The OLDER motherboards are LIMITED to TWO SATA III ports.....PREVENTING creating FAST onboard RAID setups. The Haswell E is available with EIGHT,or, SIX cores...you choose !! Use at least 32 GB of system memory. Soon, Eric will post the results of the new Nvidia 970 and 980 video cards. in his video editing test. The 980 is ALREADY the top card in GAMING...BEATING the 780ti, DESPITE having LESS data throughput. The 980 MAY be the card you want....it is MUCH cheaper than the 780ti......down in the $500 plus range.
Use the new Samsung 850 Pro SSDs in your  new system...or, the cheaper Crucial M550 series SSDs. The SSDs are now WAY more reliable than HDDs and are WAY FASTER, in many ways.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS6, format for exporting video to web.

On the Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 I used the format "H.264" and preset "Apple Ipad 400x224, 16x9, 29.97, 400kbps." That preset isn't available in the Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 edition. What would you recommend that would be comparable and good for exporting a one-hour video for use on the web (Vimeo, to be specific)?

    You're in the wrong forum.

  • I have an HP laptop preloaded with Adobe Premiere Elements 10. For whatever reason Elements will "run" on click, but not even open the load screen or anything and then act like I never tried to open it? whats going on?

I bought my HP laptop in 2012, and it came preloaded with Adobe Premiere and Photoshop Elements 10
It worked fine and I even made a few video edits back in 2012 but for the last year Elements just REFUSES to work properly
I used to be able to open elements to at least the "what do you want to do?" screen
But now It won't even open this...I have no idea why...
If I double click the Elements application my computer slows down, bracing itself to load, and then ....thats it....it reverts to its normal speed and elements just doesn't open...
Any help would be great cause I feel like I've exhuasted all self-troubelshooting options and need to either get help from the forums or take the laptop in before I smash it in rage

Thanks for the reply with additional information.
Recent history for Premiere Elements points to the program having problems when more than 1 video card/graphics card is
being used by the computer on which Premiere Elements is running. This observation may seem contra indicated by the fact
that you say that the program did work well about 2 years ago in the same setup. But other factors may have set in with regard
to drivers, drivers versions, and driver conflicts. But this factor, does need to be ruled in or out.
Can you disable one or the other card to determine the impact of this on your problem?
But, of prime concern with regard to video card/graphics card is the use of a NVIDIA GeForce card with Premiere Elements 10.
Even if your NVIDIA GeForce were the only card, Premiere Elements 10 will not work properly unless the NVIDIA GeForce driver
version is rolled back to about May 2013. This may be one of the major factors here.
    a. Device Manager/Display Adapters and find out Driver Version and Driver Date
    b. Read the background information for the Premiere Elements 10/NVIDIA GeForce issue
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE10: NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back
Also see the Announcement at the top of this forum regarding the matter - also with full details of the situation and how to fix with the
    driver version roll back.
Please review and consider and then we can decide what next.
    Thanks.
    ATR
Add On...This NVIDIA GeForce situation is specific for Premiere Elements 10. You should not expect to see the problem for
    later versions of Premiere Elements.

  • Is Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 & Adobe Premiere Elements 8 suitable for creating movies with sound?

    Hi
Here is what I want to do:
make a movie of me teaching a class and put in online
            (for an online course is one use);
            be able to edit video;
            add photos in;
create podcasts and export say to mp3 and other types,
                automatically generating RSS feeds;
            be able to add the sound track to any video;
I think that Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 & Adobe Premiere Elements 8 will do the job but I am
asking on this forum if it will do all the above?
Also, how would this software sync the sound created by me talking about what I currently have on the blackboard with the video?
    Thanks,
    bubbly250

Since this is really about Premiere Elements, I'd crosspost this in their forum, too, bubbly250, since there are more people working with video there than here:

  • Adobe Premiere CS5 - Editing 1080p 60fps?

    Hi There,
I just purchased a Sanyo Xacti FH1A HD camcorder that is capable of shooting 1080p at 60FPS.  I have not yet found a video editing suite that allows you to natively edit at this frame rate.  Does anyone know if CS5, or some other package supports this type of file?
    Thanks!

I must admit, I'm actually kind of surprised that worked! With the various MPEG-based cameras that seem to be sprouting like dandelions, it's sort of a crap shoot when it comes to finding decent support in an NLE. Glad it worked for you.
I would check your files using something like GSpot or MediaInfo (the Properties panel in Premiere might actually tell you, too) to determine the true framerate of these clips. I looked at the Sanyo website, and the specs said "60fps" and not specifically "59.94fps". Since these camcorders are anything but broadcast standard, it would not be surprising if they were indeed shooting at 60fps. It seems like a minor point, but using the 60fps clips in a 59.94fps sequence will result in Premiere doing some pretty awful things with interpolated/blended frames; whenever possible, it's best to match your footage frame rate with your sequence frame rate.

I think you will have to contact Adobe, not other users in a user to user account
My understanding is that ALL versions of Premiere... Elements and Pro... must use an Admin account to run properly
