How old is this version?
I have a webcast that we need to edit. We have the webcast in 2 formats (wmv and rm). Is it possible to edit the wmv file and then save it as a wmv and then save it as a rm or will I have to edit both files?
After editing a 45mb file (just removing the first 15minutes), the end result is almost double the size. If I use movie maker the size is almost the same. Is there something I can change within adobe so the file isn't twice as big?

Problems after WMP upgrade from 9 to 11

I have been running Premiere Elements 8.0.1 on Winows XP SP3 for the last few weeks. The whole time I had Windows Media Player 9 installed.
I have been exporting files as Windows Media Video Files from Premiere and they were playing back fine.
Yesterday when playing one of these files, WMP9 told me it had an important security update. I told it to install and next thing I know Windows Media Player 11 is installed.
Now when I export videos from Premiere Elements there is a noticable loss in quality. eg. the video I have been working on, fades in on a scene of mist, and the exports since WM11 have far more pixelation/clumping together of colors during the fade in than when WMP 9 was installed.
I also need to convert these videos to quicktime. I have been doing this with Super©. Since WM11 came along, the quicktime files I make of the wmv files go out of sync with the audio, and there are white frames at the end while the audio finishes off. Basically they are unusable. I had been Super© because the quality was much better than exporting directly as quicktimes from Premiere Elements.
So what I am wondering is whether the best thing to try first to fix all this is either:
1) unistalling WMP11 OR
2) reinstalling Adobe PremiereElements.
I have a feeling trying to uninstall WMP11 and revert to WMP9 could be more trouble than its worth, but I'm not sure if reinstalling Premiere Elements with WMP11 now installed will make any difference.

You could try installing the WMP 9 Codecs from Microsoft.

Incompatible display driver - premiere elements 12 & 13

I've been trying to get adobe premiere elements working on some Lenovo T520 laptops. These are an advanced model laptop so shouldn't have issues with display drivers. When attempting to run Adobe premier elements 12 or 13 I get the error message 'we have detected an incompatible display driver. To get a better and faster performance, please update your display driver'
I have read through every available forum and website to fix this and have done the following to no avail;
Upgraded Intel HD Grapics 3000 driver to latest version
Disabled second graphics card (NVIDIA NVS 4200M) in device manager
Changed BIOS settings to run graphics from onboard Intel HD graphics (this removed the NVIDIA graphics card from device manager
Installed latest version of Quicktime
Searched for badddrivers.txt file on C drive and specifically in c:\programdata\adobe\premiereelements
Removed the adobe user profile data folders
Can you advise if there is any other possible fix for this issue? I've run out of options and have spent way too much time on this.

So what did you do after the search? Did you find the BadDrivers.txt file for Premiere Elements 12 and 13 and delete it?
If you have not already, delete the BadDrivers.txt file for version 12 and 13.
Assuming that you are using Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit....
If just have 12 installed...

Depending on how many versions of Premiere Elements you have installed on that same computer, there will be folders in the Premiere Elements Folder.
You do not want anything that is in those folders in the Premiere Elements Folder. You just want to delete that lone BadDrivers.txt file which is for Premiere Elements 12 and is found outside the 12.0 Folder there.
Versions of Premiere Elements earlier than 12.0 have their BadDrivers.txt file inside their folder in the Premiere Elements Folder.
Now if you have Premiere Elements 13 installed along with 12 on the same computer, they will share this same BadDrivers.txt file. However, the baggage that 13 will bring to this area is a file named "Current Display Driver.txt". Do not bother with it.
After the BadDrivers.txt file is deleted, you close out of there, and reopen the program, the program generates a new BadDrivers.txt file but hopefully the display card error message(s) are gone. For more details, see item 0005 of my Premiere Elements 13 Daily Discoveries blog post

Trouble updating PSE 7 to 7.03

This is where Secunia wants me to download the patch from. But where do I find the corresponding instructions? Up to now I have not succeeded to do this properly. Under "About PSE" I still find 7.0 and my Secunia still says it is not a "safe" version!

I have downloaded HD content 1, 2 and 3 to a folder. The installations instructions say I should click the folder that I want to open. A dialogue box should appear where the content should be extracted and I should provide the path and choose OK. I have no idea what path to provide. Can someone help?

Adobe Premier Elements 7 "Help" and F1 key Do Not Work

I am running Adobe PRE 7 with Vista on a Dell Vostro desktop. Nothing happens when I select "help" from the tool bar menu at the top of the screen and choose Adobe PRE Help. Nothing happens when I press F1 either. Anybody have a clue why help is not working?

Adobe Premiere Elements 7 Smartfix

I am working with APE 7 video and cannot get smartfix to be activated, I cannot find where to use it nor am I getting any dialog box. Here is what I found in the help file...I will run smart tagging, then drag the file over to the sceneline, but no dialog box.
Adobe® Premiere® Elements 8 facilitates auto correction of quality problems in video files that have Smart Tags associated to them. When you add such clips to the Sceneline or Timeline, the SmartFix dialog is displayed. Click Yes to confirm the correction of clips."
