Adobe Presenter 10 and compatibility mode

I use Presenter to create training modules where I work at.  I can publish the module but when the user tries to launch it - they get a blank screen.  I've been shown that staff need to flip into compatibility mode to view the modules.  Is there a way that this can be done without staff having to do this?  Having 1100 staff doing this can be problematic.  Please help.

I don't know about this issue specifically, but I had the reverse happen, where videos weren't showing up in Compatibility View.  The same result of the blank screen was occurring though.
I added the following line to the index.htm files in the <head> section and it worked after that:
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8" />
Not sure if this would work exactly for you, but it might set you on the right path since it's involving Compatibility View.

  • Can't download Adobe Presenter 9 and Presenter Video Express for Mac

    Hi, I am from Russia.
I need either Adobe Presenter 9 or Adobe Presenter Video Express for Macbook.
I cannot download either of them, because when I try to open "Adobe Presenter" "Adobe Presenter / Buy now" or "Try now", the page says:
    Error processing your request
We're sorry, we encountered an error processing your request.
As for the Video Express, the link leads to iTunes and the program says that the product is not available for my country...
I use Macair (I cannot insert discs). I am already used to downloading from the internet and paying with my credit card... but can you give me the links?

Adobe Presenter is a Windows application, so being able to download it may be irrelevant. The link you provided works for me, but again, I think you may need the Adobe Presenter Video Express tool, as that is the Mac application (and it's free). You should be able to get it from the Mac store, https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/adobe-presenter-video-express/id593844338?ls=1&mt=12.
Ah, I just caught that you are in Russia, not sure about the Video Express tool being available there, you may need to call Adobe and see what the avalablity is.

  • Adobe Presenter 9 and PowerPoint 2013 - Missing Import Audio from PowerPoint button

I am only able to intermitantly use the Import button in Adobe Presenter 9 to Import Audio from PowerPoint. Why would I be able to do it on some presentations but not all? I thought it was an audio conversion issue but even when I convert the audio (when prompted by PowerPoint) it doesn't always allow me to import it.

I have found a solution if the original PowerPoint was a ppt file, follow these steps:
File > Save As a pptx file
Close PowerPoint (this helps with not corrupting the file)
    Re-open the pptx file
    File > Convert
Save with a new file name (this helps with not corrupting the file)
You should now have the Import from Presentation button if you go to the Presenter tab and click the Import button
I have not found a solution for pptx files yet.

  • Adobe Presenter 8 and 508 Compliance

So I am in the middle of work for the US government. The output needs to be 508 compliant to meet Federal regulations. I have been building projects in Presenter 7 and using workarounds to achieve 508 compliance (e.g. printed script/handout in PDF). I have been informed that from here on out, no workarounds will be accepted -the presentation MUST be 508 compliant in the manner that they test. With that in mind, has Presenter 8 improved the accessibility of its output files compared to Presenter 7? JAWS compatibiilty, in particular, is what I need to know. The folks doing my 508 testing use JAWS and it always raises flags with Presenter output.
Before I drop the money to get the latest version of Presenter, I am wondering if things have improved or if I should be looking at another solution?

    Hi Mukul,
    Thanks for the prompt reply!
My compliancy checker sent me the following notes (unfortunately, not as specific as I would like):
    html version:
    Videos need running timer bar.
Slides just stop; no indication that you need to select "next slide" in the menu.
Not all slides are read by JAWS; rather, it reads around the slide like it isn't there – check coding.
All charts and graphics need alt-tags.
    and for the PDF version:
    508 Compliancy &JAWS:
JAWS needs to be able to see a flash file, whether it is in a webpage , within a .pdf, or self contained.  The flash movie needs to be “described”   Within Adobe Flash Professional there is an option and the ability to access the “Accessibility Panel.”  But this Digging Deeper Demo.PDF  was developed within Adobe Presenter, and I have yet to create a project with this tool, so I am unsure there is the same “Accessibility Panel.”  If there is not, I would imagine there is something similar to ensure the flash portion of the .PDF is seen by JAWS or any screen reader.

  • Internet Explorer and compatibility mode error

Whilst using DMXZone's HTML5 video player, it throws up a problem on some PC's stating there is an error and states to run in compatibility mode.  Is there a line of code I can insert into the page that forces compatibilty mode to work?  The client insists that they don't have to explain to every customer what to do.
    Thanks

  • Adobe Presenter CRASHES and won´t open anymore

I am already with Adobe Presenter 8.1 (64 bits) and with Office 2013. Whenever I start recording a powerpoint presentation, with myself in the webcam (Logitech c-920), something happens that avoids me to record with my webcam again. After the crash, if I open Adobe Presenter (not through Powerpoint - but through the desktop shortcut), nothing happens...my webcam does not start and Adobe presenter simply does not open. I ran as administrator...nothing. Even through powerpoint, adobe presenter won´t record anymore. The only way to solve this is UNINSTALLING adobe presenter and installing it again. Then I can use it once more till the next crash. There is something wrong and I just can´t figure out what it is. Help!

    The problem in detail:
    - Open Powerpoint 2013 presentation
    - Open Adobe Presenter through Powerpoint
    - record
    - publish
    - ok...
Closes. Next time, it won´t open anymore...
If I only open Adobe presenter (before the crash) and open preferences (to choose webcam, microphone, etc.) it will crash in the very moment I close the preferences window.
My office 2013 is 32 bits. Is there an Adobe Presenter 8.1 32bits? Would that be the problem?

  • Adobe Presenter 7 and Captivate - WHY?

In the ongoing Adobe product confusion where product names
and features overlap and where product families are supposed to
complement each other we now have Adobe Presenter 7.
It looks just like captivate with two important differences
    in Presenter 7:
You lose the Captivate screen recording
You gain a slide progress pane in the presentation (not a
progress bar, it shows the slide titles vertically)
This Presenter 7 tool is billed as an import facility to
Flash enable and quiz enable PowerPoint slides.
Sounds just like Captivate and looks just like captivate with
the exception of the above items
So why bother to make another product? All they needed to do
was leave Captivate alon and then add the slide progress pane and
you have the same product with the ability to do screen recording.
Seems odd to add another product with another name to the already
bloated Adobe family of product. More unusual is the complete
overlap of features seen here. Presenter 7 seems to have some
features that might show up in the next release of Captivate, but
Presenter appears to add only the progress of the slides as a side
pane? Why bother to have two products?
It looks like the Adobe Connect Pro package includes
Presenter 7 and that makes sense, but why not just include
Captivate with Connect Pro and then add the navigation progress
pane found in Presenter. Way too much overlap of product here and
it woul dbe nice if captivate would include this one new feature
    from Presenter.
Look at it this way, Captivate is Like "Presenter Pro" and
all they need to do is add one simple navigation progress pane,
convert to the enhanced sound editing screen and presto...
But why would anyone spend the additional $500.00 for a copy
of Presenter when it is basically Captivate with one minor addition
and no screen recording? Strange product plan, very strange indeed.
    Joe C.

My goodness I logged on just to ask why Adobe had Presenter
in addition to Captivate and I found this posting that says EXACTLY
    what was on my mind.
When you consider the amount of overlap between the two
programs, it's bewildering. Anyone here from Adobe with some idea
of the reason behind making Presenter? From Adobe's presentation of
the product, Presenter basically publishes presentations, pools and
    quizzes in flash or pdf.

  • Automounter, nisplus, and compatibility mode

Hi, after running an nisplus domain in compat mode without trouble for a number of years I've uncovered an annoying problem.
In short, I cannot access NFS mounts, through automounter maps, when the NFS mount is served by a system running in compatibility mode. The nisplus master spits out messages from ypserv saying that 'my.domain.com' not supported. The terminating period isn't there, presumably b/c the compat client/NFS server doesn't use it. Adding it to the compat client/NFS server didn't do it, couldn't even ypbind anymore.
I can manually mount things, and put them into fstab/vfstab files, but there are too many of them, really need to regain the ability to use the automounter maps. This happens with any client, be they full nisplus or compat-only, that tries to automount.
Anyone seen this that can help us?
    TIA, Jim G.

We were using indirect maps, which I'd still rather use so I can pick up wildcards. But direct mapping did indeed work and for now I'll take it. Never thought to look myself at that possibility since for the longest time it wasn't supported with the flavors of Linux we had been using. Thanks ml!

  • Arch64 + long mode and compatibility mode

    Hi all,
I'm using arch64 on my core 2 duo. Due the fact that flash etc are not working on 64bit, I use the 32bit chroot environment to be able to still use 32bit programs. However, I was reading on the internet that in order to execute a 32bit program on a 64bit processor the processor has to switch to a compatibilitymode to run the 32bit thread in 32bit mode. After that, the processor can switch to long mode (64bit mode) again.
But I'm wondering if this swich between compatibility 32bit mode and the 64bit long mode is made between every single thread that is being executed by the processor, or that if you run a single 32bit program anywhere on the system, the cpu switches to the 32bit compatibility mode and stays there as long as those 32bit programs are running.
Has anybody here the knowledge to explain this to me? It seems stupid to me that my whole cpu is running the whole time in a 32bit compatibilitymode due firefox+flash. Including the fact that all other 64bit programs of arch64 also needs to run on that compatibilitymode.

Flash does work, if you use nspluginwrapper + nspluginwrapper-flash.

  • Adobe Presenter - audio and video

Could someone please tell me the difference between adding
audio and video to a PP presentation via PowerPoint vs. importing
and adding audio and video using the Presenter tab?
Also, I'm looking for a list of things that won't work when
publishing. For example, I noticed that animations, slide
transitions and QuickTime movies won't work after publishing.
    Thanks SO much.
    Leona

Check out the documentation on Presenter -- there are some
very specific ways you need to add audio (use "Record Audio" or
"Edit Audio" in the Presenter menu) and video (use "Insert video"
    in the Presenter menu).
Powerpoint has facilities to do these things as well, but
Presenter won't be able to publish them, from what we've
    determined.
For animations, again, read the documentation carefully --
all your animations have to be set to "On Click" or "With Previous"
-- i.e., they can't be timed animations. Again, Presenter won't be
able to translate these timed animations -- you must "click" them
into view (you do this as you're recording audio with "Next
Animation", or you can do it after recording audio using
    "Synchronize Audio").

  • Closed Captioning with Adobe Presenter 10 and pre-recorded audio

I'm working with Presenter 10. Pre-recorded narration has been imported. The script text has been copied into the notes section of PowerPoint. The audio plays fine in the flash file. When I click CC the closed captioning highlight moves through the text but it is not in sync with audio. Is there a way to manually adjust the movement of the highlighting so that that it is in sync with the audio? If not, is there some other way to get pre-recorded narration to be in sync with the original script?
    Thanks!

After HOURS on the phone with Adobe people and them being completely useless i finally figure out why i am getting crashes when hitting record.
Presenter 10 doesnt work with Multi Monitor Setups (at least some of them)
Im not sure if anyone else has multi monitors and uses Presenter successfully but that was why mine crashes.
This amazes me quite honestly...Powerpoint by nature is designed to support 2 screens...1 for the presentation and 1 for the controls...for Presenter 10 to not support such a basic thing is absurd.
Come on Adobe you have been through 10 versions of Presenter and you cant get this right?
This is like removing the start bar from Windows!!!

  • Error when I try to record application simulation in Adobe Presenter 8

Hello, I have a 30 day trial of Adobe Presenter 8 and a subscription to Adobe Captivate 6.  I would like to record an application simulation within Presenter, but I receive an error after entering a SWF-Name that states that Captivate cannot be started and to check to see if Captivate is configured to be run in administrator mode. (Captivate is actually already open in admin mode.)
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you!  Ryan

    Hi Mahesh --
I have Adobe Captivate 6 and use Windows 7 Enterprise.  Below is a screen shot of the error.  Unfortunatley, it is in German, but it says  : Adobe Captivate can't be started.  Check to see if Adobe Captivate is configured to be run in adminstrator mode.  If so, configure Microsoft Powerpoint to be run in administrator mode and restart Adobe Captivate.
    Thanks again.

  • Publishing Problems with Adobe Presenter 9

I downloaded the free trial of Adobe Presenter 9 and created a video/Powerpoint presentation.  However, when I went to "Publish" (to YouTube), it stalled at 5%.  Did I just waste many hours that I really don't want to do again?  It's an hour long presentation!  I have Windows 7 and I've updated all my drivers on my laptop but it still won't publish.  Now what?  I can't even find the file so I can try it out on another computer.

    Hello Emily,
    Greetings from Adobe.
Did you try to update the drivers from Device manager > Display Adapters ? Please try to update the drivers from Intel website using the driver version.
Also, have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the Presenter  9 after updating the drivers ?
    Regards,
    Ajit
