Adobe Presenter using pre-recorded video

is there a way for adobe presenter 8 to take a pre-recorded video instead a webcam for video input?
so i have a pre-recorded video file, and I can run it side by side with the slide, and program when the transition supposed to be, when the video and the slide should be side by side, and when either the video or the presentation should take front ground; just all the lovely thing that we could have done with Presenter normally, but the input is not a live presentation of myself infront of the camera, but of a colleague which is pre-recorded.
thanks.

Hi Jorma,
Yes that would be ideal, I used captivate before. The much older version that is.
Unfortunately my current employer only provides Adobe Presenter 8 with Office 2010, and the Adobe Creative Suits CS6, which includes Premiere, but not Captivate.
So, would like to get as much as possible from the tools available, before I push another a shopping list on the executive’s desk.

I want to be able to use airplay to stream audio to another iOS device, and then use that audio stream to be used when recording video instead of the built in microphone / microphone input. Is this possible?

A third-party app probably cannot obtain a stream from another app. To the best of my knowledge, such a capability is not provided in the software development kit, apps being "sandboxed" from each other and so allowed to communicate only in very specific and limited ways.
I'm not completely sure what you mean by "limitations on video capture". An iPhone, to the best of my knowledge, can natively record video only through it's built-in camera, and audio while doing video recording only through the built-in microphone or mic/headphone jack. There might be a video recording app that would allow audio input from an external device connected to the dock connector, but I'm not sure.

  • FaceTime to call a Pre-recorded Video?

I don't know if this is the right place. I would like to create "something" where a user could dial an actual number via FaceTime and reach a pre-recorded video viewable through FaceTime. For example, lets say I want a person to call 555-1234 via FaceTime and what they will get a video playing a movie trailer.
Anyone know how I can figure this out?

sorry, no answer... I'd just like to build on this if you don't mind.
How about including a FaceTime voicemail feature too. They call you, you're away and instead of an impersonal message, be able to SEE your FaceTime voicemail message?

  • Using Adobe Presenter or Captivate for video narration

    Case # 181254378
    Customer said "
Using the latest version of either Adobe Presenter or Captivate on a Windows system with a web cam (or similar video capture device)
, we’d like to add a video narration to a PowerPoint presentation that is synchronized to animation contained within the slides. Cur
rently PowerPoint allows the addition audio narration in sync with slide animation. Adobe presenter allows for the addition of video
narration to a static slide (in edit view). This makes it difficult or impossible to easily time video narration to match a slides
animation. Ideally we want to record video narration with active slide animation similar to the way audio narration can be added wit
h animation playing. This removes a lot of guesswork and complication from the production process."
Please advice about the same wether this would do for a feature request or,
How can we go ahead and perform this?

    I figured it out.
If you select H.264 as the format you can then select YouTube Widescreen HD for the preset.
This will set everything up to convert your MTS file to 720p and reduce the file size by around 30% with little quality degradation in my experience so far.
The only problem I encountered was the video was kind of choppy when the camera panned but that was remedied by upping the frame rate from 24 to 29.97.
Hope this helps someone and if anyone has any suggestions to improve efficiency or reduce file size post it in here.

  • Save Adobe Presentation As An Offline Video

The Adobe Presentation that I want to view contains audio and video. That particular presentation is available online. Can I save the presentation as an offline video, so that I can view it without connecting to the Internet? Thank you for your advice.

I will be out of the office starting  16/11/2010 and will not return until
    18/11/2010.
During this time I will have no access to my emails.  If your matter is

  • Adobe presenter 8 : problem with video playback

when I import a video ( flv, mp4.. - it doesn't matter ) I can see the video when I preview my slide but I can't see the video when I publish the presentation. Help !!

I know I posted this in another thread, but it seems to be relevant here as well:
Try converting your video to FLV before inserting it into the presentation. The inline converter in Presenter is... well... simple. I've never had much faith in it and prefer to use the Adobe Media Encoder, http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=160&platfor m=Windows, or something like the AVS Video Converter, http://www.avs4you.com .

I really can't say very much because of the "terms of use" of these forums. Yes, there is a difference. There is also going to be a difference between what is legal in the US vs. the UK. The following information is courtesy of regular forum memember & poster, Dave Sawyer.
"The US Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA) makes it illegal to break the encryption on any digital medium such as a DVD. So if the DVD is copy protected, as almost all commercial DVDs are, in the US it's illegal to break the copy protection and hence illegal to copy the DVD."
"And the US courts have in some cases held web sites liable for posting information on how to do such protection breaking, so many sites, Apple included, prohibit such discussions, even though it may be perfectly legal in the country of the person asking."
    That's all I can say.

  • Adobe Presenter 8 Record Video option

I'm getting a error message 'Application is already running' every time I try to use the Record Video option.  I end the task in Task Manager, but that doesn't seem to help.
What's causing this and how do I get the Record Video option to work?  I'm trying to record what's on my monitor.
    Thanks!
    LCBGa

    Hi,
Just to confirm, what process are you killing in the task manager.
Is it powerpoint.exe or Adobe-Pr-VC.exe. You need to kill the latter.
If this the case, try closing all the applications and re-start your system.
Was the app working earlier ?
    Thanks,

  • Synchronising video to slides in adobe presenter/ adobe connect

    HI All,
We use Adobe connect for live webinars.  Our client now has prerecorded video of the presenter and wishes us to synchronise the powerpoint slides to play along side the video.  This is usually done as a live event with us using a live video feed and the presenter forwarding the slides within Adobe.   They wish to recreate this using pre recorded footage.
If we do this manually, (i.e. load up the slide deck and video to the room and manually forward the slides whilst playing the video in a video pod) synchronisation is an issue due to buffering at the viewers end.  The Slide deck slowly gets further and further behind or in front of the video until it no longer makes any sense.
If we put the video and powerpoint in to a single video slide we loose resolution of the powerpoint.
What we would like is to use Adobe presenter, thus keeping the resolution of what are quite busy slides and having the talking head clearly present.
Any ideas?    It seems synchronising with audio is standard but not with video.  Ideal would be to replace the photo id image with the video.
Sorry but any replies that suggest not having the video or making the slides less busy are not helpful ;-)
    Thanks in advance

The two suggestions I would put out there are:
    - Reach out to Adobe Support about the recording sync issue. They may be able to resolve it. Adobe Connect Help | Adobe Connect Support
    - Look at Captivate. It does a much better job of handling the addition of video to a presentation and allowing you an easier path for syncing video and the presentation. This is a monumentally dificult task in Presenter.

  • Record Video won't use USB Webcam

    Hello,
    I am using Adobe Presenter 9/PowerPoint 2013 (32 bit) on a Windows 7 machine.
I am trying to use the Record Video function of Presenter, however, I can't seen to use an external USB webcam.
    Steps.
    1. I click Settings
    2, I choose USB 2.0 PC Cam
    3. I click OK
    4. I get a message on the recording screen that the camera is turned off
(I attempt to click the picture of the camera to turn it on, nothing happens)
    5. I go back into settings and the Selected camera is reset to None.
I know the camera works as I can use it in other applications.
    Any help would be appreciated

    Hello Suzanne,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
Do you have SP1 installed for Windows 7?
Is that a laptop or Desktop ?
What is the name of the manufacturer for your USB Webcam ?
What is the name of the manufacturer for your computer ?
Make sure you have Presenter 9.0.2 update installed. (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5690)

  • Video playback issue for Adobe Presenter 9 when publishing to Adobe Connect Pro 7

    Hello!
I am having an issue with video playback for Adobe Presenter 9. When I preview the presentation on my computer there are no issues with any of the MP4 videos that I have loaded into my presentations. However, when I publish the presentation to Adobe Connect and access the URL the videos are either delayed or do not appear at all.  We are using our own Adobe server which we purchased in 2008, along with Adobe Connect Pro 7. We recently updated our Adobe Presenter software to version 9. Is there an incompatibility issue between Adobe Presenter 9 and our current Adobe Server/current version of Adobe Connect? Or do I need to do something different in Adobe Presenter when importing the videos?  Note: I have tried FLV videos and had the same issue.
We are trying to launch of series of webinars (each webinar has between 15-42 slides), which was the whole purpose of updating our Adobe Presenter and Adobe Captivate software....hopefully we can resolve this video issue.
    Thanks!
    Dana

Connect 7 didn't support MP4 video content, as I recall. Another issue is that Connect rooms are using Action Script 2 (AS2) while Presenter 9 uses AS3, and the two code languages don't play well together. You don't mention if you are using the meeting application to display the presentation, but it is worth mentioning. If the presentations are stand alone, then the AS3 issue should be non-existent, but the MP4 support may be.
Is there a reason you haven't updated the Connect software to Connect 9 (or at least Connect 8.1 where the Connect application became AS3 as a whole and supported MP4 content)?

  • Adobe Presenter CRASHES and won´t open anymore

I am already with Adobe Presenter 8.1 (64 bits) and with Office 2013. Whenever I start recording a powerpoint presentation, with myself in the webcam (Logitech c-920), something happens that avoids me to record with my webcam again. After the crash, if I open Adobe Presenter (not through Powerpoint - but through the desktop shortcut), nothing happens...my webcam does not start and Adobe presenter simply does not open. I ran as administrator...nothing. Even through powerpoint, adobe presenter won´t record anymore. The only way to solve this is UNINSTALLING adobe presenter and installing it again. Then I can use it once more till the next crash. There is something wrong and I just can´t figure out what it is. Help!

    The problem in detail:
    - Open Powerpoint 2013 presentation
    - Open Adobe Presenter through Powerpoint
    - record
    - publish
    - ok...
Closes. Next time, it won´t open anymore...
If I only open Adobe presenter (before the crash) and open preferences (to choose webcam, microphone, etc.) it will crash in the very moment I close the preferences window.
My office 2013 is 32 bits. Is there an Adobe Presenter 8.1 32bits? Would that be the problem?

  • Live Stream Pre-Recorded FLV File

Hi I'm using FME 2.5 to stream a web cam feed (to Akamai).
Has anyone ever used this set-up (or something similar) to deliver
a pre-recorded video file? Basically, I'd like to use a file as the
    video input device.

Normally, only a device which appears as a video camera
driver will be supported for live streaming. That includes USB web
    cams and firewire cameras.
However when using programs like MSN or Yahoo chat, many
users have successfully used "virtual camera driver" software,
which supplies images from a file source, but appears to the system
to be a physical (camera) device.
So for example, without making a specific recommendation,
"Broadcaster StudioPRO" appears to be one such virtual camera
    driver :
    http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/webpublish/fwwebcam.html
Probably the best approach is to hunt on (insert favourite
search engine) for the search term above, in conjunction with "MSN
messenger" or "Yahoo messenger" to restrict the search
    results.

  • Recording videos from my screen

If a video is playing on a website and I wish to record it using my MacBook Pro. Is there
a compatible (Freeware) software I can use to record video as it plays on my screen?
    Thanks.

Nope. And the most common search engines don't bring any up:
    http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx/
    http://www.macupdate.com/
You might also want to check http://www.sourceforge.net/ if you don't mind attempting to compile your own code, or working through X11 interfaces.
