Adobe printing problem

Hello all!!
I'm having problems printing from adobe 8.12. It says while I
have a PDF file opened that "unable to start print job. Is printer
available" message. I can print from word and excel but not from
adobe reader 8.0? why not? any suggestions would be helpful, thanks
in advance.

determine its cause.
You said that I can print from word and excel but not from
adobe reader 8.0 If that file prints correctly, the problem isn't
system-wide--it's specific to the Acrobat product. However, the way
Acrobat interacts with the system may affect printing performance.
You may also try these: -
- Restart your computer, and then print a PDF file:
- Turn off your printer for at least 15 seconds to flush its
memory, and then turn it back on and print a PDF file:
- Print from another computer:
- Print the PDF file as an image.
- Re-create the PDF file to determine if the original PDF
file is damaged and causing the problem.
- Print the PDF file in batches to determine if a particular
page, or object on a page, is causing the problem.
- Print using the default settings to determine if a variant
print setting causes the problem.
- Delete Acrobat temporary files.
Excess temporary files can cause Acrobat to freeze or appear
to freeze when you print.
- Print with Windows in a Simplified mode.
- Use the latest version of the Acrobat product.
- Use an updated printer driver.
- Use an updated PPD file.
- Install a printer driver that's compatible with your
operating system.
-Ensure that the printer has enough memory.

  • Adobe Printing Problems with CM1415

I just got a Laser Jet Pro CM1415fnw color MFP.  It works great except when I'm printing form in Adobe.  Everytime I print a form it squeezes it (vertically) and there's no space to fill out the form by hand or add a signature.  The forms look fine on other network printers & I can't figure out any settings that need to be changed.
    Please help!

I have the same issue with my LaserJet CM1415fnw as well. I have updated the the firware to version number 20110329. But still no luck. The issue of the Adobe files being squeezed vertically remains.
If anyone has a solution to this, please let me know urgently as its causing a lot of problems for me since most of my files are in pdf format.

  • Adobe printing problems

When I print a PDF it prints a partial page of the document.  In 6 equal panels on the printed page.  Any ideas for correctio?
By the way when I print same doc from iPad it prints out fine. Not 6 panels.

Adobe Pro 9.x and up does not print well with Yosemite (MacOS 10.x). I don't know why, and even though I'm running the latest version of Yosemite --10.10.1 -- on my spiffy MacBook Air,  files which I scanned using ScanSnap Manager sometimes do not print to my Brother laser printer, even though it displays fine on the Mac.  The BATES stamp feature prints on some pages and not others, despite displaying fine within Adobe.  (I had no difficulties printing form Adobe when using Lion MacOS 10.8)
A limited workaround is to run the OCR recognition software.  But until Apple fixes the bug, I won't be upgrading Adobe.

  • Printing Problems with Adobe Pro 9.5.5

I have started having a problem printing PDF files from adobe pro 9.5.5. Now every time I try to print to any of my printers, adobe opens the standard print dialog window, but instead of printing to the printer, it wants to write a *.pm file as if I have asked to print to file. When the problem started I was at version 9.4.4. I have since updated to version 9.5.5 without any correction to the printer problem. I have adobe reader version 11 and I can print the file from it without a problem. What gives?

I assume that in both cases you are talking about Reader and not Acrobat. This is the Acrobat forum. The link to the Reader forum is at the top of this forum. There is no program called Adobe, only the company name.
If I had a clue, I would make a suggestion, but I don't. It may be something that Reader users have run into. A few here have AA9 and might respond if they have had problems, but I have not heard of any such problems.

  • PDF print problems Preview Fails but Adobe Reader works?

    Hello All,
I'm having issues printing pdf documents, it appears to be a Font problem, that is when I print from Apple's Preview 7.0 the document prints, but the spacing of characters is wrong, some symbols are missing etc.  When I print from Adobe Reader 11.0.07 the documents look normal.
More Details:  All pdfs generated using Latex fail this way, so it might be an issue there.  PDFs generated from iWork's Pages 5 print fine UNLESS I copy the Latex images into them then they print incorrectly again.
I suspect the issue is with Apple's Preview missing a font, although I'm not sure that's it nor how to fix it.  Adobe prints without any issues at all.
I am using OS 10.9.4 on a 2009 iMac.  I am printing to a HP Laserjet M4555 over Bonjour Service.
    Thank you for reading,

    Hello Eric,
Unfortunately this has not solved the problem.  I ended up disabling them all and ultimately deleting the duplicates.  Adobe works so that is my work around for now, although I prefer Preview.
    I appreciate your help,

  • Adobe Reader Printing Problem

I have a PC with Windows XP SP3. When I try to print a PDF document, I get the following message: "The document could not be printed. There were no pages selected to print." Of course, I had selected the pages to print.
Recently, I had many problems with Adobe Reader 10, so I removed it and reloaded Adobe 9. Today, when this printing problem appeared, I did a restore on my computer, taking it back a few months. I still have the printing problem.
Any idea what's wrong? Any idea how to fix it?

I have Acrobat Pro 9, but the feature I am using is listed under my
    printers.
If I go to Print, then in the drop-down list of printers, I have PDF -
which essentially creates a new PDF document.  I don't really understand
why it worked, but it did.  The Print - PDF is also available to Word,
    Publisher, etc.
    Hope tis works.

  • Printing Problems with PDF - Adobe Acrobat

    Printer - HP Deskjet 3070A
Laptop - Asus Zenbook running Windows 7 Home Premium
Issue: Printing problems with PDF (Adobe Acrobat Reader)
    Dear All,
    Please help!
My printer was working absolutely perfectly until my brother in law recently needed to borrow my printer. He plugged in his laptop running Windows 8 (awful thing that is). Since he did this to print his own PDF, I cannot print mine.
Although all the text will appear on the page perfectly both in the document view and on actual printing, it appears that some of the transparent formatting stuff on a PDF - such as boxes you have to fill in and transparent areas (such as you find on glorious tax forms) are omitted completely. In fact, in their place I was getting a single black dot. Now, after uninstalling and re-installing updates for the printer, windows 7, adobe acrobat reader, etc.etc. I get squat. Just all the text laid out but none of the shading or boxes.
I have tried fiddling with the printer settings; the  print as 'photo' option, dpi settings, greyscale - as much as I can think of and I am thoroughly stumped.
In a desperate attempt, I even installed the Universal Printer Drivers - thinking it might have been that. No. All I got was a page of gobbledygook. Consequently, I uninstalled and reinstalled the normal drivers again.
If there are any wonderful people out there with any fabulous ideas about how I can get my shading and boxes back; I'd  very much appreciate it. Sadly I have a tax return to fill out (which is already fabulously late) and need my printer to work!
    Much appreciation in advance x

    Hey there @Reverie!
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!
I can see that the printer is no longer printing in the correct format after it was plugged into the Windows 8 computer!  You mentioned you have run the updates and uninstalled/re-installed the printer software.  Have you uninstalled and re-installed the Adobe software? Are you getting the same issue from other programs as well? Are you getting the same issues if you are logged in as a different user on the computer?
I have located the HP Update Software Utility that may be able to help.  You can download an run the utility.  It may be able to locate any other updates for the printer.
I would also recommend running a disk cleanup on the computer to clear any temporary files and junk files that may be causing some performance or software issues. If you do not know how to run a disk cleanup on the computer please follow this document regarding Delete files using Disk Cleanup.  It is recommended to restart the computer after a disk cleanup. After the restart try the print job again!
Let me know if that helped and thanks again for posting on the HP Forums!

    Hi Raj,
Its really nice to hear from you. getPDf is used for getting the pdf document to process in the code.
Say, i require to attach the PDF and send the form through mail. In that case, I flag this parameter and get the values in the result import parameter of the FM.
Hope this will give you some idea. You may refer Jeff Gebo's webinar or Vani krishnamoorthy's papers available in SDN, which illustrates, how you can attach a PDF and ssend the mail..
Hey, btw, i am posting a new thread regarding drop downs. Please reply to it [:D]

  • Adobe X Print Problem

I have a Canon Pixma MP750 printer.  With Adobe X installed and when trying to print multi-page pdf files, the first page would nearly complete printing, then the printer would pull the page back into the printer and Jam.  After much trial and error, the only fix seemed to be to uninstall Adobe X and install Adobe 9.5.  Is this a known problem in Adobe X?  will it be fixed soon?

It sounds like a double-sided printing problem with the printer. I am assuming that AA9 is not set to print double sided and that you have run into a default that seems to be the case for AA X of double-sided printing. If the latter, try to turn of double-sided printing. If that is indeed the case, you might check the paper loading. Some paper has to be loaded with a specific side up for double-sided printing or the paper tends to jam.

  • Adobe print engine failed to output your data due to an unknown problem using modified font

I have a document I created in InDesign CS5.5 with no issues. One of the fonts had a some issues with how the letters looked, so I modified the font (True Type) with a font editor. The documet on screen looks fine and passes preflight with no issues, but when I try to print it to any printer or PDF (Adobe PDF or Winpdf wirter) I get the error: adobe print engine failed to output your data due to an unknown problem. I also tried to create a document in MS Word with the same modified font and had no issues printing. Can anyone check into the issue with InDesign with this font if I send it to you? I also did try to create a new document in InDesign with just some text using the modified font and it will not print that one either.

***Oops. Cross posted. Glad it is working.***
If you desire to share the fonts I can look at them. Just send me a PM with a link.
Did you change the internal naming/IDs when you created your varient? If not, try removing the version you began with. Paths all closed, etc?
Ian's application works fine but I don't use the light version--isn't there some limitation with it?

  • Default printer problems with adobe 10.1.2

I was having problems printing PDFs since upgrading to 10.1.2.  After reading and trying many recommendations, I happened to notice that my default printer(I have only one printer) was listed twice on the print window.  The first (default) printer is spelled "HP PSC 2350 series" (upper case 'PSC')  The second is "HP psc 2350 series" (lower case 'psc') .  The printer is named 'HP psc 2350 series' in my printers and devices, and if I select this printer, the page will print perfectly.  Now that I have solved my printing issue,  I would like to change the default setting on the adobe print window to come up as the active link, so I don't have to continue to select a different printer everytime I wish to print a document.  The printer by the lower case "psc" name is set as the default printer in printers and devices, and I cannot figure out why it doesn't come up as the default printer on the adobe reader print window.  I also cannot figure out how to change the default in the print window.   An added interesting fact is that I get no response in the print window when I try to select "preferences' or 'advanced' for the upper case 'PSC' printer.
My computer runs in Windows 7 (64-bit).  The printer is HP psc 2355xi all-in-one.  Any suggestions are much appreciated

I have not been able to select a different default printer for Adobe,  but I can print if I manually select the correct link everytime.

I am having the same issue. The correct printer is selected as the default printer on the control panel and there is no driver with the lowercase convention. However, the first printer option that appears is the lowercase convention. Is there any way to select a default printer for specifically for Adobe, as opossed to the PC itself?

New computers come with OS X Mountain Lion, so this is the Mac OS X version you will have. Some users would recommend you to install Mac OS X Snow Leopard on a virtual machine, but you will be wasting hard disk space and performance while its virtual machine is running

  • Print Adobe PDF problem: Device type related?

    Hi,
we have developed a number of adobe print forms and we face a problem. The problem is that not all types of printers can directly print (without first preview the pdf) the form.
We are using an output device with device type post2 (pdf1 works for some printers too) and access method F (Printing on Frontend computer) , but some printers work perfectly and others instead of the form, print out some postscript (or print) commands.
We can as well change our printers and get some postscipt printers but the problem is that we want to give access and print the forms some of our partners who logon to our system via VPN and we cannot "force" them to buy new printers.
Do you have any suggestion for this problem?
    Thanx in advance
    Kostas

the ABAP Backend is sending a ADS-document in an XML format to the ADS Server (JAVA), the ADS returns a "Parts" for the forms. A "parts" consist of an PDF file and a print file (PostScript, PCL or ZPL), which are placed in the Global Directory. All the conversion should take place within the ADS Server.
This "Parts" are then send as a PDF to the SAP Spooler.
For the printing of this PDF document in the SAP Spool System one of the Device types (POST2, HPLJ4, HP9500, PDF1, AZPL203, AZPL300) is taken into account which send the actual PDF to a physical printer.
What you see in SP01 are the "parts" of an ADS-document.
Report RSPO0020 (for troubleshooting ADS printing issues) is displaying the "Parts", send back from ADS to the backend System
The XDC file is the printer description in XML format, which the Adobe Document Services requires in order to create the "Parts" file. PDF documents can only be printed on printers of SAP device types for which there is an XDC file on the Adobe Document Server.  Report RSPO0022 can be used to manage the mapping between the printer device type and the XDC file
