Adobe Pro 11 install error 1303

When trying to install Adobe Acrobat Pro 11 on my Windows 8 laptop I keep getting Error Code 1303, which says I need to be an administrator, but I am the only user on the laptop and I AM the administrator!  Help!!!

Thanks.  I did and I am. (I'm the only user on the computer.). Finally
managed to get it to install but it doesn't work. Decided it's not worth
the hassle and I'm just gonna go with the online converter for the laptop.

  • Adobe reader xi installing error 1303

Hi, if i try to install it, i get that message: Error 1303. The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory on c:\program files, also  after some reboots or in  boot in safe mode, i'm able to install it, but it refuse to open any pdf file, and even i can install many other programs, i don't have the rights on the program files folder and subfolders, i use w7 64.
I got he same problem that this other message
Keep getting an error upon trying to download/install Adobe Reader XI
    That help page:
"Error 1303: Installer has insufficient privileges" or "Error 1304: Error writing to file" | Install | CS3, CS4, CS5 pro…
don't help, because OS don't allow me to get full rights on the folder even i'm the administrator, no other problem on computer, just reader XI fail.
    Thanks

This is very unusual; Adobe Reader should not attempt to access C:\Program Files on a 64-bit system; all should go into C:\Program Files (x86)
What I would try if I were to encounter your problem:
download the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ and save it to disk
right-click on the downloaded installer, then select Run as Administrator

  • Adobe Pro delete pages error. One or more pages are in use and could not be deleted.

Adobe Pro delete pages error. One or more pages are in use and could not be deleted.
Hi, can anyone assit. I am compiling a pdf by inserting several documents and am unable to delete specific pages. I have used this function on a previous Adobe Pro version but have a problem editing.

I use this feature once a month to extract / delete some 200 pages from an 800 page file. I found the release notes for 10.1.4 stated that this issue was fixed. I updated my Acrobat to the 10.1.4 release and i was still having the problem. I finally fixed it by disabling the Win XP compatability feature that i had enabled in the properties of the Acrobat executable. I had enabled this feature a couple of months ago as a fix to this specific problem, now it's not necessary.
    Environ: Win 7 32-bit and Acrobat X, 10.1.4.

"Error 1303, The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Resource\Font\PFM. The installation cannot continue. Try running the uninstaller from http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html then download and run the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • Pro XI Install error on Win 7 64-bit "The application was unable to start correctly"

I am trying to install Acrobat Pro XI an a computer running Windows 7 64-bit
Before I can install I get the following error:
I exited the install and ran vc_red from the Adobe CD.
Started install of Acrobat XI and got the same error.
I exited the install and installed vcredist_x64 (Visual C++ 2010 SP1 downloaded from the Microsoft Download Center)
Started install of Adobe Pro XI and the same error came up.
Decided to proceed with the install.
Got the following error once install had completed:
Closed the error by clicking "OK" and clicked finish on the install window.
Tried to run Acrobat and got the same error as above except it said acrobat.exe-application error instead of acrodist.exe-application error.
    Restarted PC-Same Error
    Used Adobe cleaning utility
    Rebooted PC
    Reinstalled Acrobat Pro XI
    Same Error

I haven't heard of any fix from Adobe but maybe this will hwlp.
I kept getting an error this morning when trying to install Windows updates on my PC. One of the updates was trying to update Visual C++ (vc_red) from a folder on the C drive which was locked. The folder had a very long name (2f4b86.....). I kept getting a popup box pointing to the folder but it would not install the update from there. I had to copy the folder to the C:\Users\Public Downloads folder to get it to install. I mention this because vc_red seems to be involved with the previous Acrobat XI installation issue I had.
I would try looking at your installed updated and see if you have either update installed.:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538242)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538243)
Removing them may allow Acrobat XI to be installed.

  • Adobe Pro 9.2 error merging large PDF's

When I try to merge then save large PDF it gives an error.  The computer is a new Win 7, Inetl Duel Core 3.2 Ghz, 4 GB RAM, brand new computer with only Kaspersky AV, Office 2010 and Adobe 9 Pro Trial installed.  It merges quite quickly for the file size, but when I try to save it, it gives the error above.  There are seven files I'm merging for a total of about 2.3 GB in size.  I have even turned off the Kaspersky AV and it still gives the error.  The documents does contain lots of photos.  Not sure what other info to give.
    Thanks for any help

You dont happen to have a link on Adobe's site some where do you?  The person I'm trying to make this work for says they have seen 5 GB pdf docs.  They dont believe me, so I will have to prove it to them.
Thanks so much for the info.

  • Adobe Pro 9 CMap Error Message

I am running Adobe Pro 9 and encountered the following error when trying to save a file to a newtwork drive: "The encoding (CMap) specified by a font is missing".  All the embedding options are set correctly.  I tried to install the Japanese font package but it didn't work as that is for Reader and not Pro.
Any ideas on how to fix this??

  • Install Error 1303

Getting error 1303 so Adobe Reader never finishes install. Using Windows 7 and Microsoft Security Essentials. My account is the admin but for some reason the Reader 11 file shows "unable to display current owner," and when I go to change it, it says "unable to set new owner on reader.  Access is denied." I read on the forum someone had a 1303 error that turned out to be their antivirus but I can't see that here (although I may not be looking in the right place). Any help appreciated.

Try using the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
If that also does not work, please give use the full error message you get.

  • How do I virtualize Adobe Pro XI without error:16 ?

I have installed and virtualised Adobe Pro XI enterprise licensed edition successfully and can get it to work on one machine. When it is deployed to additional machines it gives error:16 - please uninstall and re-install.

Microsoft App-V isn't a supported environment for Adobe Acrobat.  Only Adobe Reader 11.0.1 and greater are supported on Microsoft App-V.  I believe this is because of the whole lack of support for Virtual Printer Devices in the App-V environment.
I don't see Symantec SWV listed anywhere in the ETK as being a supported environment.
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/index.html
Only Citrix and Windows Terminal Services are currently supported for Adobe Acrobat.

  • Adobe Pro XI Install bringing up old DC trial version

i have an expired adobe DC trial. I didn't want to renew and I bought Adobe Pro XI on Amazon, downloaded and installed it. When I try to open Pro it brings up a DC and says my trial has expired. I uninstalled DC (I think) and repeated the purchased download and install of the version I purchased but have the same problem. How do I use the Adobe Pro XI I purchased from Amazon?

    Hi Jason ,
Could you please explain how does it hamper your work ?You must be getting a notification for expiration of DC or does that stops you from using Acrobat XI as well?
If so please give us the details of the issue .
And as you have purchased it from a vendor and not Adobe ,would request you to get in touch with them as well .
What you can do is try uninstalling it once and then re install it and see if that fixes the issue .Refer the following link and see if that helps you out .

It happened when I went to HELP in illustrator CS5  on Mac.  I started to update it but now I get this when I go to HEPP or SUPPORT.

This article from adobe should help:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403150.html
    Try this first though:
-Drag to trash ALL air applications like Adobe Media Player and Community help client under /Applications and /Applications/Adobe.
-Uninstall AIR, using the Uninstaller App ( located in /Applications/Utilities )
-Delete the following directories if still there:
    /Library/Frameworks/Adobe AIR.framework/
    /Users/YOUR_USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AIR/
    Now install AI again.

Error #0 - what does it mean - trying to download Adobe Pro trial

I am not familiar with error 0, but you might try a couple of things to get around it.
The first would  be to try using a different browser.
The next would be to try downloading the trial version of the software thru the site linked below.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.

  • Adobe Pro XI install: Timeout waiting for window to load

Installed fine on my work computer yesterday (subscription).  Trying to download and install at home from the website and getting "Timeout waiting for window to load".  I've tried IE, Chrome and Firefox.  I do have a Pro 8 installed here, but don't want to chuck it until I know XI is going to install - not sure I know where that disk is any longer.

    Hi Daniel,
Seems to be a network issue here.
Please try downloading the file ( Download Acrobat products | 9, 8 ) from any other network, (may be your work computer network) and save the setup file to a flash drive.
Connect the flash drive to the home computer and try installing.
