Adobe Pro - Locking Bookmark so it won't print

I'm using Adobe Pro and have around 100 sheets, all bookmarked, but do not want certian ones to print. Is there a way I can set this up?
Thanks
Chris

The only thing I could suggest it to turn your iPad into landscape view and then set the wallpaper to your preference. It will still rotate back to full when in portrait view but will give you a better view in landscape. Good Luck!

  • Adobe Pro 9.5.1 Update Now Cannot Print to PDF

Since the update to 9.5.1 from 9.5.0 I can no longer print to Adobe PDF from any program.  I have reinstalled the update, ran the "Repair Adobe Installation" and still cannot print to a pdf.  It hangs at the point where you would be asked to name and save the pdf file.
    I need a solution please!

Since you apparently have the Adobe PDF printer, try printing to file from the print menu (just a check box). If that completes, open the file in Distiller to complete the process. Assuming success, you will need to check for AcroTray running in the background. It is necessary for the printer to work properly.

  • Adobe Reader 9.0 views but won't print a graphic that prints in version 7.0

I have several pdf files that were created from Adobe InDesign.  The files contain a photo that has text and another graphic layered on top of the photo.  When I export the InDesign file to Adobe PDF, I can see the entire image (photo, text, and graphic), but when I try to print the PDF from Adobe Reader 9.0, the graphic image does not print.  When I try to print the same pdf file from a computer that has Adobe Reader 7.0 installed, the file prints fine.  Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?  If not, is there any way I can get Adove Reader 7.0 reinstalled (I can't find it on the website).  Thanks.

Try and print the PDF as an image.
Also when you send this to someone else are hey able to print without an issue?
    Have you've tried another printer?

  • Officejet Pro 8500 A909g Wireless suddenly won't print yellow; no error messages

Is it possible that a printhead needs to be replaced even when Diagnostics Pages all say "Printhead health:  Good"?   I don't have any error messages.  There are no obvious white lines through the colored blocks on test pages.  In a couple of blocks on some test pages, there is one, very fine, barely visible line, but it's not the same on all pages.  (Today I've printed about a dozen test pages of three different kinds that have colored blocks on them, and there are no white lines like the ones shown in examples of bad test results.)   I have used the tool for cleaning the printheads many, many times today and have cleaned at all of the levels.  The ink level in the yellow cartridge is fine, and it's been working well until yesterday and today.
The printing of the five colored blocks on test pages is good, bright, and clear.  The only problem is that the block which is supposed to be a light orange color is only pink, and the block that is supposed to be green is only blue:  they are lacking yellow ink.
I haven't had any problems with the paper I've bought at Staples for six years (I also bought my printer at Staples ).  The printer is six years old but has not been used hard.  I use it regularly for a page or two a few times a week, so the printer isn't sitting idle for weeks at a time.
I read something in "help" information about using a straight pin to gently remove excess adhesive from the nozzle of a new ink cartridge, which didn't apply to my cartridge, but I decided to experiment anyway by pushing a pin through the nozzle of the partially-used, yellow ink cartridge,  The test page I printed after that is the page with just four colored blocks on it rather than the five blocks on a different test page.  This is the only time in two days that the yellow ink has printed.  However, it printed in a wide horizontal band a little streaked with gray in the middle of the block.  Then there are fairly wide white bands (no ink) both above and below the wide yellow/gray streaked band in the middle, and there are very narrow, yellow, horizontal strips  printed along the very top edge and the very bottom edge of the block.  In other words, the sequence of horizontal printing in this block only is:  narrow yellow strip, wide white band, very wide yellow/gray streaked band, wide white band, and narrow yellow strip.
It seems this might mean that some yellow ink actually got through after I'd poked the pin into the center of the nozzle of the partially-used ink cartridge?  However, when I tried printing the same test page again, there was no color, no ink showing at all where the partially-printed, yellow block had been on the previous test page.  There was only a totally blank, white space where the yellow test block was supposed to be.  The blue block, the red/pink block, and the black/gray block all printed well.
When nothing solved the problem of yellow ink not printing, I replaced the partially-used, yellow cartridge with a new yellow cartridge, but that didn't make a difference either:  the yellow ink is still not printing.  Yes, I use genuine HP ink cartridges.  I buy new ones whenever I need them -- never refill them or use any other brand but HP.
I used the alignment tool once to fix some slight wavering in the lines on a test page.  The lines are now perfectly straight.
I apologize for being so wordy, but I wanted to send all of the details that might help diagnose the problem.  I read other questions and answers in the forum about yellow ink not printing, but while there were some similiarities, none of them was 100% exactly like my experience with the problem.  What shall I try now?  Thank you for any suggestions.

  • Adobe pro 9 changes printers when mouse moves over printer window

When trying to print an adobe document, the default printer is ignored and the selected printer changes as the mouse moves across the printer window to reach the print button, making it difficult to stabilize the printer selection. Please advise

I have now checked other people in my departments Adobe versions.
I have Adobe Pro V9.0.0, and does not print correctly.

1 person has Adobe Pro 9.5.5 and prints correctly.
1 person has Adobe Pro V9.0.0 and does not print correctly

I wil try and find the other updates and see if that helps.

  • Adobe Pro 8.2.6/Win7/64 won't open this pdf

The pdf file is a state road map, and is located here:
    http://http://www.iowadot.gov/maps//msp/pdf/transmap.html
I know the reader ver 10 (X) under win/xp will open it, but trying to open it under win7/64 using Adobe Pro 8.2.6, I'll get the following message:
    "Acrobat cannot decrypt this doc".
I also know that the READER 8.2.6 running under win xp will not open this pdf either, as I get the same message as above.
    Any ideas?

But as stated above, the file won't open under Adobe READER 8.2.6 running in Win-xp either.
Something tells me my old ver 8.2.6 Pro is about history, as I've never had any problems running the Pro ver 8.2.6 under Win7/64 on my desktop.
The laptop running Win-xp & Reader ver 8.2.6 won't open the file, but installing reader ver X on the laptop will. Looks like my old ver of Pro on the desktop has run it's course.

  • New HD, Now Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.16 Won't Print PDFs to HP2605dn

Had a HD die. Replaced with new one. All humming along on my OS 10.4.11 G4Powerbook except now newly re-installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.16 won't print PDFs to my HP2605dn printer. Adobe Reader 9.1.3 and Preview will print my PDFs so that's a workaround, but would like to get Acrobat Pro back to pre-grey screen of death functionality.
    Have sourced hp:

and also sourced and did due diligence with troubleshooting list:

(even though technically I'm not on 9 - same difference)
I'm running out of ideas here. Anyone feel like playing House, M.D. with my problem???

What message do you get, exactly? (Please don't include the serial itself).
Is this using the original CD that came with the Acrobat 8 product?
Does it say anything about a "qualifying product"?

I am downloading Adobe Pro and it downloads fine.  When I try and open a document in it, it states it has stopped working and Windows will let me know if it finds a resolution - any ideas how to fix this?

    Hi Michael,
Do you get the error when you try to start Acrobat by double-clicking a PDF file? What is the specific error that you're receiving? Is there an error code mentioned in the error message? Does the error occur with any PDF file that you try to open?
Are you able to open Acrobat, and then open the PDF files once Acrobat is open?
    Best,

  • Adobe Pro X

This software looks cool, but Adobe should have never released it when they did.  The software doesn't work fully, the Attach to Email doesn't work, even after reporting the problem & they send out an update for Adobe Pro X & they didn't even try to fix the problem). So you pay lots of money for software that doesn't work.  Then when you call up to Adobe to see if there is a way to fix it, & you have to wait on hold for an hour or two to get some body that barely speaks english.  Then when you describe what is happening they have no clue how to fix the issue.  Also the other issue I have with Adobe Pro X is that they took away the ability to create a button that allows you to do the Attach Email right on the form.  So all the Forms that I created in Adobe Pro 9, the Email button I created, won't work in Adobe Pro or Reader X.  I have also reported this issue with Adobe, through phone call & the web & yet it hasn't been fix.
Does anyone know how to get these problems fixed or someone I can talk to at Adobe that can try to help fix the problems?

    ChadHissong,
I have Acrobat Pro X installed on two computers—an iMac and a MacBook Pro.
When I tried out the File > Attach to Email, it worked on the iMac: That is, it opened the Share pane (on the right) and the Attach to email button was selected, and the name of the file was shown below. When I clicked the Attach button, it opened up the Mac Mail application.
On the MBP, it hung with the Rainbow-cursor, and I had to force quit. Acrobat X would also lock up if I just clicked on the Share pane.
I started to investigate. I suspected that it had to be a preference file which had been corrupted. Unfortunately, Acrobat spreads its preferences all over the place. Here's what worked for me.
I found a folder which contains most of Acrobat's preferences for version 10 in this path:
    <home> > Library > Application Support > Adobe > Acrobat > 10.0.
There are several folders and files within that folder. Move the entire "10.0" folder to the Desktop, and relaunch Acrobat X. It takes a minute or so for it to rebuild the preferences. Now it's working for me. In fact, you can tell because you can now view the Share pane which selects the Attach to email button for the current file by default.
    Good luck!
    Steve

  • Acrobat Pro XI Mac won't print a .pdf file, but Apple Preview will print correctly

    Hello,
I have Acrobat Pro XI for Mac.  recently I've run into pdf files that will show the document on screen ok, show up on print preview screen ok, but when I send it to a printer I either get:
    1.  no printout... the document passes through the printer queue ok, but nothing comes out (no blank paper, nothing).  no data seems to even reach the printer/print server.  no error.  the print job basically vanishes into thin air like the job was never sent
    2.  prints out with all the characters of a text substituted with squares (again, no error. just prints squares instead of text)
But when I print the same document using Apple's Preview program on the same machine, the file prints out fine.
I experience this problem with two different Macs, with two different OS versions.  Again both machines will print the .pdf file fine using Apple Preview, but not with Acrobat Pro XI.
I've searched for this problem, but no one seems to have this problem. I've tried just printing one page, etc., and no difference (won't print, or print wrong using Acrobat, but prints fine using Preview)
the files are typically sent via e-mail from a vendor, or a web downloaded form (invoice, forms filled out.  some are secure, some are not).  and these are from multiple sources.
Any ideas what might be the problem, and how to fix this?
    system:
Mac Pro (early 2008) and MacBook Pro (mid-2011)
MacOS 10.8.4 and 10.6.8 (multiple computers have this same problem)
    Acrobat Pro XI, 11.0.04
printer: HP LaserJet 5MP (yes.. old.. but it works) via HP JetDirect + print server on  LAN

I just found this solution on another board, I tried it  (I removed the same file listed below) and it worked for me....
Safari won’t save or print PDFs: how to fix

If Safari won’t save or print PDFs (but views them without any problems), you probably have an Adobe PDF plug-in installed. In Safari, go to Help->Installed Plug-ins and do a search for “PDF.” If you have anything with “PDF” in it other than “WebKit built-in PDF,” that is probably the culprit.
On my computer, the problem was “AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin”. To remove it, I quit Safari, did a Spotlight search (Command-Option space) for that file name, and then dragged it to the trash. When I restarted Safari, I could print and save PDFs again. You can also manually find the plugins by going to the system “Library”  folder (the one at the root of your hard disk, not in your user folder) and looking in the “Internet Plug-Ins” folder.
    I’m on OS X 10.8.2, running Safari 6.0.2 (8536.26.17).

  • I have a document for review that was initated in ADOBE PRO 9 that I would like to remove a reviewer from. How is this done?

I have a PDF document that was created and a copy was placed in a separate folder. The document was then Sent for Review to my email recipients. This works fine and we are able to review and publish with no problem. Now one of the recipients is having "credentialing" issues and the document locks up on him. I would like to know how I can remove him from the reviewers and resend the request to him. I am trying to troubleshoot as of right now on this. I am no expert on Adobe so answers will need explanation. I forgot to mention that we are using Windows 7 and this is between Adobe Pro and Standard.

    - You can't install Acrobat Pro alongside Acrobat Standard. You will need to remove Standard to be able to install Pro.
    - You (probably) can't upgrade your license if it's a part of an enterprise license. The entire license will need to be upgraded.
    - It's not possible to install just the "Compare Documents" function as a sort of add-on to Acrobat Standard.

  • Adobe Reader 9 bookmark pane will not stay active

I have created a manual in Word 2007 then created a PDF.  In Adobe Pro 9 I created links in the manual that links to a second document which is the glossary.
If you open the manual in Reader 9, the initial view is set as Bookmark Panel and Page.  When you click a link and go to the glossary then select "Click to return to the previous page view", it returns to the manual but it has Pages Panel and Page as the initial view.
I have the initial view set to Bookmark Panel and page set in the manual, but it changes when I return to the manual from the glossary.  Does anyone else have this issue?  It did not happen in Adobe Reader 8.

In Adobe Acrobat (not Adobe Reader) you can change the initial view of the PDF documents.
