Adobe Pro Saving Problem

I had to create a Huge 51 page PDF with graphics and the size is 21mb, but whenever I try to save it, it will take 30 minutes to do so. If I try to do something on the side, It will freeze and eventually crash the program.I open the Task manager, it will say the computer have plenty of memory and processing to spare.
Any suggestion to how to trouble shoot this issue?
The Computer is running:
# Intel Core i7 860 2.80GHz
# Win XP, SP 3.0
# 4GB memory
Thanks in Advance,

The best way is to (digitally) sign the file, which ensures it's not edited afterwards, or the signature will become invalidated.

  • Further Adobe Pro 8 problems

Here are some further problems I have encountered with Acrobat, after upgrading from CS2 Design to CS3 Design Premium.
In addition to Acrobat 7 refusing to launch unless an administrator's password is typed in, now Safari will not open PDF files inline if Adobe Acrobat is the default PDF reader.
We also have a copy of Acrobat Pro 8.0.0 that keeps crashing. The icon appears, the arrow appears, but it crashes even before a splash screen appears. Well, how about updating the software. Great idea!
So I found the Acrobat updater at Adobe's website. Well, when I launch the updater, it asks which version of Acrobat to upgrade, and when I try and select Acrobat 8 to update, it refuses to select it, as if it doesn't exist (or it isn't Acrobat).
I then go through CS3's updater. It sees updates for programs like Camera RAW, Illustrator, Bridge, etc., but no updates for Acrobat Pro. Odd.... It seems like it just doesn't even see Acrobat is on the system.
I even went through the process of reinstalling just Acrobat. Still no luck, Acrobat 8 still crashes.
    Any help?

Acrobat 8 constantly crashed after we installed it. We re-installed and it still crashed: the icon appeared, the arrow appeared, and then it crashed a few seconds afterwards. We updated the software but still the same. Finally, my boss suggested this solution:
    1) Go to the upper right corner of your screen and click on the other "User" window. If you don't have one, create one.
    2) Launch Acrobat 8; then in the Menu, go to Help > Check for Updates. A window might pop up stating the problem. Do the repairs it suggests.
    3) Do any updates still necessary, then quit out of Acrobat.
    4) Go back into your user window and launch Acrobat.
Our problem was that one of the preference folders of my "User" had a file conflict. The other "User" was cleaner since it wasn't worked with as much, so it didn't have any conflicts. And our PDFs print fine -- both single- and multiple-page files. Not sure if this will work for you, but it solved our problem.

  • ADobe Pro 7 Problems

Im having issues with one users install of Pro 7.
First off when they open some (not all) PDF it will sometimes chaneg the font on the file and makes it  unreadable.
I started by checking for updates. It found one, i ran it, rebooted, and checked for updates again. the same one shows up almost like the install didnt work. So i manually downloaded it and ran it that way and i got the same thinsg. PLease help.

The font issue may be that the font was not embedded in the PDF and AA7 is just looking for the best fit to the font. If it is an early version of AA7, then you may have a font issue. I think it was AA7 that had 4 fonts that were a problem. Those 4 fonts could be removed and the problem would go away. I had a PDF of a conference proceeding where all the titles showed in Greek due to the problem. They were fine with AA6. I deleted the 4 fonts for AA7 and the problem went away. The updates for AA7 may resolve this issue, I am not sure.

  • Printing Problems with Adobe Pro 9.5.5

I have started having a problem printing PDF files from adobe pro 9.5.5. Now every time I try to print to any of my printers, adobe opens the standard print dialog window, but instead of printing to the printer, it wants to write a *.pm file as if I have asked to print to file. When the problem started I was at version 9.4.4. I have since updated to version 9.5.5 without any correction to the printer problem. I have adobe reader version 11 and I can print the file from it without a problem. What gives?

I assume that in both cases you are talking about Reader and not Acrobat. This is the Acrobat forum. The link to the Reader forum is at the top of this forum. There is no program called Adobe, only the company name.
If I had a clue, I would make a suggestion, but I don't. It may be something that Reader users have run into. A few here have AA9 and might respond if they have had problems, but I have not heard of any such problems.

  • Problem with Adobe Pro and Reader on terminal server

    Hi,
We have have a Terminal Server environment with Adobe Pro and Reader. We have security for Adobe Pro, so only certain user has access to Adobe Pro and all users has access to Adobe Reader.
Some users receive many email with pdf's attachments in Outlook and need to print these attachments. They use the Outlook function to print email and attachment automatically. The users who has access to Adobe Pro can print attachment automatically with no problem.
The problem is user who only have access to Adobe Reader. The user can't print attachment automatically with the email, only the email is printed. But, they can open attachment and print with Adobe Reader. But, it's impossible to open each attachment because there are so many.
    Thanks for your help.
    Jonathan

    Hi,
    So if I understand correctly,
    1. You have installed Acrobat Pro & Reader on a Terminal server.
    2. You have created a security group in your Active Directory Users & Computers for users having access to Acrobat
    3. You have set permissions on C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe and C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Acrotray.exe on the terminal server and provided access only to the security group created above.
    4. Users are accessing the Terminal server through RDWeb or connecting remotely through MSTSC (RDP) or using a .RDP file
    5. Users get emails with PDF attachments and print the mail directly without opening the PDF in Reader.
Users check the box to print the attachments with the mail (see snapshot below):
    Some questions:
    1. What is the OS and platform (x86 or x64) of the terminal server?
    2. What are the versions of Acrobat & Reader on the terminal server?
    Thanks,
    Vinod

  • Printing problem Adobe Pro X from Excel 2003

I produce a number of reports each month using Excel 2003 and printing/converting them to PDF documents.  All were nicely formatted and printed perfectly and reliably using Adobe 5.0 (ancient I know).  I recently upgraded to Adobe Pro X.  Now what once printed nicley only prints part of a page - about the right 1/3 is not showing.  Even when selecting "fit to 1 page wide and 1 page tall" in excel page setup doesn't fix the problem.  Changing the BINDING setting in Adobe doesn't fix the problem either.  Previously I selected Adobe Writer from my printer listing which I understand has been discontinued.  Now my only option is Adobe PDF.  Any suggestions?

    Interesting. My approach would
    1. Try on a different system if available. If still bad...
    2. Try to create a simple test application with CreateDC and StartDoc, and really nothing else not absolutely needed.
Test that.  If it is good, look for other problems in your application (e.g. memory overwrite).
If your little example is still bad, post it here and other people can try and compare your results.

I am using Vista Business, and Adobe Pro 9. Many times, when I try to print to PDF (usually lots of graphics) I get the following error message:
